My mother has been at story point for a year. She has lived in both the independent and enhanced living areas. It is a beautiful atmosphere and a well-maintained and clean building. From day one, the staff- from the administration, maintenance department, housekeeping, cooks and kitchen staff, servers, activity directors, front desk, and medical staff-, from top to bottom, are truly caring and invested in their residence . There's a calendar of events every month as well as resident led activities.We have found that everyone goes out of their way to get to know each person as an individual. Mom and I count our blessings that she has found a home and so many caring individuals at story point.

The BEST place for your family members to call home. The quality of care begins with Emily who will "walk" with you and your parents to ensure a good fit. That "walk" starts with conversations to get to know your family's needs. Storypoint sells itself with a super clean and maintained environment, caring staff and meaningful activities. A real highlight is the quality of food. It is not "institutional" and the emphasis is on fresh, not frozen. Almost every aspect of life is considered; safety, security, social, nutrition, transportation as well as transitional care. Chesterton Storypoint is an exceptional value when you compare the quality to other alternatives. My Dad was paying substantially more in suburban Illinois, for a lower quality experience. Now other extended family are planning to move there since they know it is the Best place to call home!!

Story Point is a great place and has great services for seniors. The layout of the apartments is lacking for those who have limited mobility. Storage closets and cabinets were not designed for seniors' abilities. Their is a lack of usuable shelving and storage in the kitchen in the bathroom. I don't think those who designed it took into account who they were designing for.

Our 91 y/o father moved in last month. Emily (Community Relations) has been wonderful from our first interaction with her through today. Jordan (Executive Director) is very engaged, helpful and responsive. Dad loves the food and his am/pm server Skylar goes out of her way to customize his meal experience on a daily basis. The events are well done and numerous. The monthly brunch was first class and similar to what you would find in an upscale restaurant. The therapy team (led by Megan) has been very helpful to him as he regains his lost strength. The facility is very clean, friendly and the front desk staff has been incredibly helpful as well. This move has been a great one for him so far.

StoryPoint Chesterton has surpassed my expectations. I have visited my great aunt on multiple occasions and have left knowing that she is in the right place. The staff is always friendly and the executive director seems to really care about the residents here. My aunt always talks about the great meals they have there and the activities they provide to residents. The "paint pouring" was one of her favorite activities. I recently realized they also do outings for the residents as well. Overall, the level of professionalism and caring from the entire staff has made this really feel like home for her. I had the pleasure of eating lunch at one of the restaurants, which was very good, with the Excutive Director after the tour. Jordan was very friendly answered all questions I needed wereanswered!

I went to visit my parents for the first time at this facility and I cannot believe how amazing it was! It was very clean. The amenities were amazing! The kitchen was immaculate, and everything is made from scratch, which is very impressive! My parents can get all of their therapy there at the facility and not have to leave to go anywhere. The courtyard was beautiful and my parents can’t wait to be able to utilize that part of the property when the weather breaks. The entire staff was so friendly! The Executive Director Jordan was very informative and professional, but still very down to earth! My mom talks about him a lot! Lol The energy that he brings to the facility is amazing and it’s very obvious that the staff and tenants enjoy his presence there!

From my initial inquiry, I hesitated if this was the place for my mom. While the accommodations and amenities are beautiful, the enhanced living section leaves a lot to be desired. The Community Specialist, fancy title for salesperson guaranteed Story Pointe could accommodate my mom's care needs with the right package and ala cart services. We paid extra for care services that were not provided. The management didn't adequately address our concerns, which were serious such as missing medications. The problem is lack of accountability, communication, and quality measures for ensuring services are provided. Your team and care are only as good as your management.

I was blessed to spend Mothers Day at Story Point in Chesterton, IN. The food prepared by the chefs was absolutely amazing. Our server was great and especially attentive and enjoyed the children. Although none of the residents have lived there very long they seem to have already formed a sense of family. Everyone was joyful, including the employees. We need more places like this!!!!

I researched every Retirement Community in Lake and Porter Counties before giving my mom my recommendation to move into Story Point. She is stubborn and never wanted to move into a community. She loves the atmosphere, the residents and the gourmet quality meals and calls it her new home in just a few weeks. At 91 years old she is thriving in the community setting all while maintaining her independence . Cant say enough about the staff, their genuine care for the residents and the pride the take in the facility to make it exceptional and different from other retirement communities.
