Moved in on 8/17/24 since Iv'e been here the satff has been wonderful. Everyone knows my name and is so friendly. Jennifer came in on a Sunday her day off because I called the front desk and asked for batteries. She came and brought me knew batteries for the remote, I told her that was above and beyond the call of duty, she said she just wanted my days here to be stress free. The dinning room staff is well trained and the food prepared by Chef Steve is top notch...

My father in law is a new resident at this facility. We had many concerns with his transition from independent living to assisted living. All our concerns have been alleviated thanks to the wonderful staff at Sugar Fork Crossing. Everyone from the staff at the dining hall all the way up to the facilities director creates such a culture of positivity that it is obvious that the residents physical and mental wellbeing are a top priority! I have seen an amazing transformation in my father in law already! He will thrive in this environment and I can't thank Sugar Fork enough!!!

The staff seem very attentive to their residents. There are MANY activities. It seems to me that Sugar Fork looks for ways to tailor experiences to their residents - not just the same-old-same old. AND the last time I was there, their music playing in the cafe was from the 50's - the resident I was visiting LOVED that!!! She was singing along.

My mother has been a resident of Sugarfork Crossing for over a year now. My sisters and I visited 6 other local assisted living facilities before making a decision for our mom. Sugarfork Crossing stood out over all others. The facility is beautiful, clean, bright and airy. My mother loves her one bedroom apartment which borders a beautifully enclosed courtyard, that is filled with flowers, trees, and comfortable seating for the residents. I can't say enough about the staff, from the administrators and office staff who always have an open door, to the nursing and support staff who engage with each resident and lovingly provide care. A wide variety of daily activities are available to keep residents as active as they want to be. I would highly recommend Sugarfork Crossing.

My 93 year old father is staying at this facility. His wife shares a room with him in the memory care facility. Memory care is obviously a very difficult situation for both the patient and those that watch them. Generally I would say that they have done a good job of caring for him. If they have an issue and ring for assistance, the workers normally respond relatively quickly. We appreciate all of the help that they have to give to my Father and his wife to make it through each and every day.

I have been working here for 7 months now. I have loved the outstanding communication I have gotten with the administrator and the assistant director of nursing. They are always there to help when I have a question. They work hard to fix any problem or concern that’s made. The memory care area is so big and beautiful! It’s open and gives people there more room to move around. The assisted living side is also beautifully designed with the residents in mind.

I have lived at Sugar Fork Crossing in Anderson, Indiana since the Fall of 2018. I am in assisted living. I am a bit young for the facility, at 62, but had to retire early due to heart, stroke and diabetic issues. If it wasn't for the COVID pandemic, I would have moved out many months ago. I am happy to say that Sugar Fork Management and staff did a very good job of taking care of all of us during the height of the COVID spread in our county. Once I have received my second vaccine shot and things have settled down, I am hoping to find a new home due to the management and service issues. There is a severe lack of management and supervision of the CNA, Nursing staff and maintenance management. Recently there has been a lot of staff turnover due to the cut in staff hours and continual schedule changes. They are under staffed, I don't care about the staff to residents suggested ratios, it should be based on needs. They're also using a lot of temporary staff who are questionable. The staff are also very negative and complain when you ask for assistance. I am an amputee and have some unexpected wounds on my stump and can't wear my prosthetic for a few months until healed. This has caused extra work for them. It now requires two CNAs to assist me with going to the restroom, getting a shower, etc. I have actually had to lay in my bed for hours before someone will assist me or get me out of the shower or off the bathroom toilet. There are some extra hard workers and some are lazy and the director of nursing just lets things continue with no repercussions. She doesn't seem very interested in learning more about nursing. I recently had a new device placed on my leg for healing purposes, she didn't even inquire regarding how the device works or if the nurses needed to adjust or add to treatment. The maintenance director is . . . A joke! If you have a room issue you can expect to have to ask for it to be completed at least three times. Many residents laugh if someone mentions that they need help eith something. His staff is good but he's terrible and shouldn't be in management. Now I found out that two of the best senior managers are leaving soon. It's very disheartening. The facility's director does not take an active role, with many of the staff and residents not able to recognize her. After I had a few conflicts with staff including physical issues, I contacted the Director and she didn't respond. I even told her that if it happened again, i would be calling 911. She didn't seem concerned. The facility is going downhill fast! It may not be save able at this point.

Sugar Fork Crossing is a Heaven-sent gift! Mom has dementia, and after much consideration, I moved her in to SFC in July 2019. She is so happy there, and so loved. Its bright, clean, and beautiful. The staff have a true gift for caring for their residents, and honestly seem to take each one as part of their own family. Every person I have dealt with since the beginning has impressed me. And not just me. My whole family is thrilled with my choice of SFC. I am so blessed knowing that they are caring for Mom as well or better than I could.

Our loved one has lived at Sugar Fork Assisted Living since last September. Due to Covid restrictions, we have scarcely been in the building, but the surroundings are beautiful, clean, and nicely decorated. We havent met many staff members, but our aunt has been regularly relating to us about her care and living conditions since she moved in. 0verall, she has enjoyed the interactions with her nurses, aides, support staff, and neighbors. She especially highlights the fun, creative socialization opportunities which the activities director has planned to keep spirits up in the midst of this pandemic! The main thing we keep hearing is that they are short staffed. It seems like turnover is high as well. This is a concern. There have been multiple occasions where she had to wait several days for a scheduled shower, since there was only one staff member covering the whole building. In addition, she frequently complains about the food. It has been erratic and often cold, stale or simply inedible. Finally, the maintenance staff has not been particularly attentive to her needs. She has been asking repeatedly for him to help her with hanging things in her apartment and some other items, but shes had little success, and shes been there six months! Truly, we are happy with many things about Sugar Fork. We just feel that some of these points should be addressed by administration for the wellbeing of all residents.

I have worked with Sugar Fork in various capacities and I have always found it to be a wonderful and warm place. As a fellow health care professional, I have the opportunity to encounter many long term care providers. I know that if I am at Sugar Fork, I will find well cared for Residents in a beautiful home. The leadership is responsive and helpful. I have witness their passion for their staff and residents on a routine basis. The care and compassion from the memory care team is truly heartwarming. Thank you so much for treating our elderly with the respect they deserve!

UPDATE: Since I wrote my review a few weeks ago we recently found out (through others, not Sugar Fork) that THE best thing about it, their Activities Director, Marilyn Sephus, has quit. Needless to say we as a family are very concerned. We don't trust the leadership there so we will have to see what happens. First let me say Sugar Fork is a beautiful facility, however, looks can be deceiving. As beautiful as the surroundings are, the care and leadership leave quite a bit to be desired. As much as I want to give them a stellar, 5-star review, I can only give them 2. There is a true lack of leadership at this facility. The care givers, certainly not all but most, do the absolute minimum and are lazy. The turnover has been very high as well so there is little continuity of care. They clearly have no accountability because nothing seems to change, even with a new director. When we were able to visit on a regular basis, we could fill in the gaps. Now, since all we have are FaceTime visits, we notice that the lack of care (dirty clothes, unshaven, teeth that don't seem to get brushed, etc.) has continued. Our loved one requires their highest level of care (which we pay a premium for) so not being able to be there has been very difficult. While we recognize Covid and the restrictions that go along with it is not their fault, the lack of communication has made it worse. And when we do express concerns to management, we get answers that don't make any sense. I don't want to be 100% negative though because they have a wonderful activities director. Truly, if it were not for her, someone that genuinely cares about the well being and dignity of all the residents, we would have pulled our loved one a long time ago. She goes above and beyond to plan fun activities to not only work out the residents physically, but also mentally and to make them feel like Sugar Fork IS their home away from home. Also, Sugar Fork had (at least they did before Covid, we do not know how it is now) stepped up their food service which needed to be addressed, so that is another positive. We as a family feel like Sugar Fork has a ton of potential but as far as the care goes, which directly speaks to leadership, they leave a lot to be desired. And at the end of the day, the care a loved one receives when they can no longer be at home is THE more important thing.
