We just moved my mom to an assisted living community! She was not at Arden Courts very long, but she would not have been able to "graduate" without the help of the caring staff at Arden Courts. Virginia was especially attentive and encouraging. I liked how the community was split up into houses, allowing for the care to be more personalized. My mom enjoyed the daily events and was able to receive both PT and OT in the comfort of her own room. Cathy helped immensely with moving my mom in, Hazel helped with any billing issues, and BJ was the happy face that greeted you most days and managed the daily logistics. Thank you again to everyone at Arden Courts!! Our family is forever grateful <3

This is the most wonderful place. The compassion and care for all the residents is phenomenal. They are the dementia specialists. I have seen the worst possible scenarios and now have seen the best. They have long retention with their staff. Shaji Abraham, Cathy Carroll, BJ front desk. Nina ,RN and ALL care techs, basically ALL staff Thank you Thank you for your care to residents and loved ones. Mary Sue Fidale, RNC . Arden Courts is Amazing!!!!!

Arden Courts in Northbrook, IL, has a courteous and patient staff and they accel at caring for their residents at a personal level. My mom has Alzheimer's that has progressed to the point where her own personal history is mixed in with imagination and dreams. Every one of their caregivers was engaging and treated her with respect and patience. Their front office personnel are always very helpful and attentive to the various members of my family (and we do have a range of personalities).

As you can imagine, putting a loved one in a facility can be an emotional experience. Mom has been at Arden Courts in Northbrook since August 1, 2022. We have just been delighted with the care she has received. The entire staff goes above and beyond. Anything that can be done, is. Everyone knows who our family is when we go to visit and everyone always says hello and usually chats with us for a few minutes. All of this is done with a smile on their face. We love that it is not a large facility. There are many wonderful activities available, plus they have family holiday parties and a few other bigger gatherings to bring everyone together. We feel very fortunate that Mom is here. We are confident that the excellent care she has received will continue.

My wife has been at Arden Courts for 4-1/2 years and during that period of time she always has been well taken care of. When emergencies have arisen, they have contacted me immediately and made sure that she gets to where she needs to be to address the emergency. The staff is very helpful and the caregivers are outstanding. I highly recommend this facility for people requiring memory care and their families.

It has now been three years since I wrote my first review of Arden Courts of Northbrook. I thought it was time to re-emphasize how special this residence is for every stage of memory care. Each year, I become more thankful for the safe, loving environment the memory care facility offers my brother. The staff is amazing! It is especially noteworthy is that activities are continually being updated to help residents with mild dementia and those with more advanced dementia. There is not a one-size-fits-all mentality. Each year there are many entertainers who are provided to perform for the residents and there are fun outings for those who can participate. The overall inner peace this memory care has given me over the years is a blessing. I looked at over 25 facilities with memory care. Arden Courts of Northbrook was definitely the best. I learned that if you need memory care, you want to be at a facility that specializes only in memory care. Arden Courts is focused on understanding the different types of dementia, the different stages, the needs and wants of the residents and how to include the family members. Each day, the administrators, staff, and caregivers demonstrate their true compassion, understanding, acceptance, excellent care, and loving patience. The resident is treated with dignity and respect and becomes part of the Arden Court family. The resident's family members are welcomed, acknowledged, updated, and educated. The people of Arden Courts are a blessing! Do also note the importance of the environmental setting. Arden Courts does not have residents on the second or third floor with stair and elevator access. No -- residents are all on the first floor, in separate rooms with their own 1/2 bath, and have access to two large enclosed, secure courtyards connected by a 1/4 mile walking path. (My brother was on the third floor of another facility for one month. He doubted that he would ever again be able to touch a leaf or walk across green grass. That made me realize that much more how special Arden Courts is. ) In warm weather, Arden Courts allows the residents to go in and out the doors to the courtyards and walking path as they want. Everyone deserves that freedom. There are four "house" wings to Arden Courts that allow more individual care, being that each "house" has only 14 residents with their own caregivers. Each house has a living room with television and comfy chairs and an extra large, bright kitchen/dining area that overlooks a courtyard. Each kitchen has its own refrigerator that has extra treats for snacking. Family members can even bring an occasional treat to put in the refrigerator or freezer for their loved one. The four "houses" connect to a main activity center that houses a studio for art, bingo, and other activities; a community room with a piano for larger gatherings of trivia, exercises, music, movie nights, etc.; a nurse's office; and a room used at different times by a barber, beautician, podiatrist, and dentist. I saw more than enough places, but it wasn't until I saw Arden Courts of Northbrook and met the amazingly wonderful staff that I knew that was the only place for my brother.

Dedicated, experienced, hardworking staff who I can't thank enough for making these years of my mom's life safe, comfortable and enjoyable.
January 2024
My husband's Alzheimers had progressed, making it too difficult for me to care for him at home. I had looked at numerous local facilities so that, if the time came, I would be happy with my choice for him, not rush into anything. In my search, I also realized that a home that was strictly Memory Care would serve him best, as all staff were correctly trained and continued to train, and they would not pull in helpers from elsewhere, but instead offered extra shifts to their trained staff. After a tour and information meeting, I got into my car, called my son and said, "This is the place for Dad!" I found it very homey, not institutional, very clean and a happy staff! There is not much turnover there. Everyone there knows my husband and his needs, and knows all of the family members, including the grandchildren by name. The Director and staff are always happy to meet and very available for a phone call or update. Even as my husband's Alzheimers has gotten further along, he has kept his sense of humor and the staff often shares with me what he said. After two weeks there, my husband remarked what a great private club this is, where everyone has a job and they all work their best for everyone! That says it all! They provided a room for our family to celebrate my husband's birthday with a sign outside the door acknowledging it. When I visit, staff will stop me in the hall to share a conversation about my husband. Once a month, they take able residents to a local restaurant, take a picture of them and send them to family! They had a great holiday celebration in December, including family members, and we all enjoyed a lovely dinner with GBN choir groups singing, Santa visit, and a photographer taking family pictures, which we received! They encourage families to participate with Sweetest Day Lunch, Valentine's lunch and in the daily activities when I visit. My husband enjoys it when I participate. He loves all the musicians that come to perform! Activities go on all day, with lots of enthusiasm and encouragement to include all residents, if they wish. The staff reaches out to accommodate all residents, no matter their mental or physical status. I notice that you don't see residents just hanging out in hallways without some interaction with staff. When I visited other places, I did not see the stimulation that I see here. They have four "neighborhoods" which each include a living room, a dining room, and kitchen for serving the residents. The residents can have a single or double room in their area. The activities take place in the middle of the facility with everyone freely moving around, no inside locked doors. On either side of the building are two lovely courtyards, with umbrella tables, bird feeders, flowers, and pitchers of water when the weather is good. There is a walkway connecting the two courtyards which allows me to take my husband on a nice walk and benches along the way. Someone just asked me recently if I still feel the same after my husband has resided here for four months. I said, everyday I visit, I am even happier about the choice of Arden Courts for him and me! I am so grateful to have found this great home as he progresses with Alzheimers. Everyone there is family to him and my family all call it "the club", named by him early on.

I am very happy with the care at Arden Courts Promedica. My mom always has clean hair, clean clothes, polished nails and never smells. I love the size of the facility. Because it is so small there is such a warmth there. I see the same faces every time I'm there. The staff appear willing to do whatever task is necessary even if it's not within their "job description". I love the outside courtyard and mom walked their multiple times a day when she was able. I know mom is with people that care about her and I always receive phone calls if an incident occurs. Thank you everyone!

My mom moved into Arden Courts of Northbrook September of 2021. I looked at 7-8 different places, many of which were beautiful, however, the things that made a difference for us was the staff at Arden and their absolute understanding of and focus on memory care. The community is intimate in size and has a family-like feel. The routine and activities keep residents engaged and circulating. My mom feels a sense of belonging and purpose. As she loses her ability to communicate and follow instructions, staff adapt to her changes to meet her where she is at. I have gotten to know most of the caregivers, nursing staff and front office staff. Each resident is respected for who they are and where they are at. Staff work together like a family. The journey through dementia is different for each person, it has been a blessing to know that my mom is in good hands. I have also learned so much from observing and interacting with the Arden staff as my mom changes in ways I could never have imagined. I found Arden Courts via a resource list from a consultation with the Alzheimer's Association.

When I first started seeking support with my husbands care, we chose Arden Courts for respite care. After very good experiences, it was an easy choice when the time came for permanent placement for him.He is now a resident at Arden Courts. It is the perfect place for him. When choosing Arden Courts I was particularly impressed by the physical layout and the safety of the facility. The residents are able to move around the entire facility as well as move outside to the secure walking paths and outside garden areas. This was perfect for my husbands case and his needs.an early onset Alzheimers patient in the later stages of his dementia, the staff is extremely caring and cognizant of his particular needs. The caregivers consider each resident as an individual with their own special needs. They care for residents in all stages of memory challenges. The director is extremely responsive and all of my husbands many needs are always considered.

If you are looking for a Memory Care facility, my advice is: look at the staff. Arden Court has amazing staff. My Mom has been at Arden Court for over 6 years. I attribute her longevity to the structured and stimulating environment, nourishing and creative meals, conscientious and yes, loving care she receives there from everyone. Administrative, nursing, activities, caregivers are all very professional but kind and caring to boot. The rooms are individualized for each resident, and are in a homelike setting with a country theme. The staff-resident ratio is high and the staff is quite energetic and familiar with each resident as an individual. There are many ways for family to enhance the experience for their loved one and they are encouraged to do so by the staff. Family is welcome pretty much anytime and there are educational programs on memory care as well as an active and well-run support group. Always up-to-date on best practices and open to suggestions.

My mom was at an independent living facility before COVID-19 and our experience there was unfortunately not good for moms wellness. Her well-being declined considerably. We recently relocated her to Arden and weve seen a significant improvement in her health and general well being. The staff has been fantastic and mom is back to herself again.
October 2020
Suzy is one of those memory care advisors that is honest, open, and goes outside of the norm to make sure seniors at her community are supported. Thanks to her, seniors around Chicago now have many more private devices to ward off isolation and senior depression this winter.
September 2020
My brother and I were not aware of the extent of our fathers dementia. When our mother died suddenly, we tried to care for him and realized quickly we could not give him the care he needed. Suzy at Arden Courts respondes right away to my request for information, provided all of the information I needed up front and also was available for every single question I had-big or small. It was easy to choose Arden Courts based on my interactions with her, and with the other staff. I dont have to worry about my dads health or safety which is a relief beyond words.
August 2020
Helping a client transition to Arden Courts of Northbrook was seamless and the staff was on top of all the finer details. Michelle and Suzy managed the process from the first phone call from the care manager and Gentle Home Care. Together we all found the right combination of environment, activities and caregivers. It takes a team to be an advocate for an individual living with cognitive changes. Five stars arent enough for what they do at Arden Courts.
August 2020
Recently I worked with a family and they could not say enough how seamless the process was moving their dad to Arden Courts of Northbrook. From the initial tour outside, they felt very comfortable in their selection of Arden Courts memory care community. Suzy and Michelle informed the family in a timely manner with protocol of COVID -19, which put their mind at ease. The caregivers are compassionate and so professional. The entire staff at Arden Courts works tirelessly at keeping the residents engaged in these difficult and challenging times.
July 2020
My mother lived here for 4 years. There were activities all day! My mother received loving care and actually felt at home here. The structure of the facility allows the residents to feel like they have total freedom.
