The staff at Ciel Senior Living is so friendly, professional, and caring. They greet every resident by name, and when I visit my dad, they greet me too! Ciel is a warm and inviting community that works intentionally to keep residents connected. There is a full calendar of activities each day. They have specialty events that are engaging and fun like a luau dance, improv entertainment, Easter bunny visits, and mother day, Father’s Day brunch. The staff is very responsive to residents request for help. The courtyard is a beautiful outdoor space to walk and enjoy the garden.

I wanted to share what a wonderful place Ciel of Long Grove was for my Mother. She lived there almost 5 years. She arrived during the start of COVID. At Ciel Mom had made another wonderful set of friends. All of them together did all the activities: crafts, cooking parties, red hat society, travel chair , and live entertainment to name a few. The care givers are wonderful. They treated my Mom and us like family. Anna, Sylvia, David, Lupe to name a few were great. Jo, Deniz, Selena, Elana were wonderful. The nurses Annie, Amy, Oksana were wonderful and so caring. My Mom ended up in Hospice with Meridian Hospice. Their team was so caring and professional . They took wonderful care of my Mom: Brice, Gemma, and Jessica for all their loving care of my Mom. Our family recommend this Hospice Company to those in need. I would not hesitate to recommend Ciel for others who are in need to place their loved ones in a facility for loving care. Paula

Our Mom was a resident at HarborChase/Ciel for almost 5 years. She received outstanding, compassionate care from every one of her caregivers. The activities director and staff kept her mind and spirit engaged through crafts, cooking, gardening, exploring travel destinations, games and music. They provided a nurturing environment that allowed our mother to develop friendships that enhanced her time at Ciel. My Aunt moved here 6 months ago and absolutely loves the place. She especially loves the company that she missed so much when living on her own. As a long time member of the owner/operator world within Long Term Care, a common benchmark is to manage and administer your residences as if you were putting your own mother there. That is the measure of whether we are meeting the expectation of our most important stakeholder in the industry, the resident. Well, my family did, with my own mom's blessing (aside from apprehension about the transition in general) into Ciel of Long Grove, Illinois a little less than a year ago. My expectations as both a resident's child and as an executive in the industry were both vastly exceeded given my mom's experience at Ciel. First and foremost she has been treated with kindness and the care and attention that we all pray our loved ones will receive. No assisted living or skilled nursing residence or the like is perfect, but the true measure of customer service and resident attention is how the facility addresses issues with the residents and their loved ones when they do in fact arise. This has been our case with Ciel. Specific accolades should be recognized via the staff at the facility, including the current and prior administrators, the Director of Wellness and her team of care providers as well as the activities, dietary, housekeeping, laundry and environmental staff. Ciel of Long Grove, aside from being a beautiful physical plant, has a staff of people with beautiful hearts. As an industry participant for 30 years ad more importantly as a child of a resident, my family and I couldnt be happier and I would be happy to share my experience with others.

I want to thank the entire staff at Ciel Senior Living for helping me through the most difficult time in my life. I needed to move my husband from home health care to memory care which was a gut wrenching experience and overwhelming. Liz Dreyer, Exec. Director, took me by the hand and personally walked me through all the steps. She arranged for hospice care and set my husband up in a beautiful room with a view. The nursing staff and the daily caregivers were Fantastic! I never felt my husband was neglected. I spent a lot of time in the facility, and they were so caring and attentive that I felt comfortable leaving him there without worry. Even Steve in Marketing, and Dan Head of Maintenance would spend time comforting me -I was a wreck. Putting a loved one in a place that you can trust, so that you as the caregiver can take some time for self-healing was immeasurable. I am forever grateful to them. Liz proved she is more about humanity and not money. I recommend this establishment 100%. Thank you.

My family and I recently toured Ciel for our elderly family member. The staff not only answered all of our questions, they went out of their way to listen to our concerns. They went out of their way to ensure we could have an apartment with a view, which we felt would help our family member feel at home as she loves watching the birds and other outdoor critters. The staff provided a thorough tour, was very professional and we thought the layout was easy to maneuver and learn. We were very excited to bring our family member in to see her new home. She was very impressed with the beautiful decor and thought her room with a view was very nice. Unfortunately, she felt the facility was too big. She has recently diagnosed memory issues and is very confused with what is happening to her. Although the staff at Ciel (as did her family) assured her she wouldn't be alone and would have someone to help her get to her therapy, activities, apartment, etc she decided it wasn't the right environment for her. Her decision did not change my option nor review of Ciel. I recommend, if you're looking for an assisted living and/or memory care facility, I encourage you to consider Ciel.

I am moving out for a variety of reasons. Number one is to move closer to family. For the past year this place has steadily gone downhill but I have to give credit where credit is due. Liz, the interim director, is trying to turn this place around. She has her work cut out for her but I believe she’s up to the task. Their new Activity Director, Selene, has made great strides in activities actually listening to the residents and seeking their input in planning the activities. I realize that change takes time. I do believe that they are finally on the upswing. I wish them well.

Harbor Chase of Long Grove is a lot of things for a lot of people. But. For me and my family, they are HOME. The staff are always kind and supportive when we visit. We have always felt welcome in the community and for our family, that is the biggest thing. We have experienced other Assisted living communities that have presented themselves as "the greatest place to live" but then fall short of their promises. Harbor Chase has continued to deliver on exceptional customer service, great social activities, food that does not feel like its from a nursing home, and staff that are always there to help whenever we need. We want to recognize a few individuals who are always going above and beyond the normal call of duty. Madi at the concierge is always so nice and friendly when we come in. Jessica in finances is amazing with our account and getting us tax documents or statements that we need. Liz the executive director is always available to take our calls, even in the evening hours. TG and Maria in nursing and caregiver are always there to help and always respond so quick when we call for help. And Tyler is always stopping by to see if anything needs to be fixed or just to say hello. We appreciate everyone on the team and could not have asked for a better placement or community for our family.

When one finds themselves at a crossroads in life needing additional assistance with their daily living routine, either for oneself or a family member it can be a difficult journey of knowing where to go, who to trust and just exactly what that future might look like. This was the situation our family was facing in September of 2021. In our search for assisted living/memory care facilities we found there was quite a wide range of facilities, services and costs associated with the selection we were needing to make. Our process involved website searches, phone calls and visiting different facilities. Ultimately, we chose Harbor Chase of Long Grove. Why? The people and the facility. Our initial visit with the sales associates truly made a difference as they were personable, caring and interested in helping us in our journey of finding a good fit for our long-term care needs. We have as of February of 2023 had a caring relationship with Harbor Chase for sixteen months. We can say with confidence that our choice of Harbor Chase has been an excellent choice. The experience we had when we originally toured is still the experience we have today. The staff and residents are friendly, caring and kind. When needs arise the staff is willing to help navigate the concerns to find the assistance that is appropriate and then help to see that through. We are grateful for that. If you are looking for the perfect place, then maybe Harbor Chase is not the place for you. We recognize that we live in a world of challenge and struggle and that is at times true at Harbor Chase as well. At different points along our journey the reality is there have been bumps in the road and challenges to face, I believe this would be the case no matter what long term care facility we would have selected. However, what we have found is that having patience, understanding and offering support to the staff along the way has been beneficial for us and for them. The staff of Harbor Chase have genuine caring can do attitudes and desire the best for the residents and their families. This is what matters in the long run. We have had excellent services provided by caring individuals throughout the facility. Yes, Five Stars is our review. Perfect, no. We are grateful for all of the staff and residents of Harbor Chase of Long Grove; they have certainly helped to make the last sixteen months enjoyable and the best they can be despite the challenges we have faced along the way. The staff at Harbor Chase is professional and top notch. Kelly D went over and above for our family. She was easy to get along with and always in a good mood. All the residents always looked like they were happy and enjoying the facility, unlike other places in the local that we visited. The pricing structure is pretty much the same as most other facilities in the area. Harbor Chase’s apartments are very spacious with high ceilings that don’t make you feel boxed in. I personally ate the food there and have nothing but good things to say. If you are looking for an assisted living facility that feels like home, look no further than Harbor Chase.

Even though my sweet grandpa only lived 20 days, they consoled me when he passed, they checked on me weeks after, and Kelly even came to the wake. She is happy and upbeat which is good for our moral also the nurses are super. Annie on the first floor is exceptional and very kind knows her business can’t ask for a better nurse. So many other helpers like Hidalia and Maria are excellent and cares about their residents.

We had to move my dad here during the height of the pandemic, which was concerning for my family, as we had been keeping dad in a very "safe bubble." We were also concerned, because most places would not allow us to help dad settle in. In both instances, Harbor Chase became the logical choice. At that point of the pandemic (Dec. 2020), they had experienced zero occurrences of covid in the community, giving us a great feeling of security. Additionally, they would allow me to help my dad settle in with his things...something he was very much against doing, but for his own physical safety, it was necessary. They went above and beyond, helping us transition dad to community living, for which I am very grateful. It was a difficult time, and their assistance made it a lot less stressful. Listen, nothing will ever be as perfect as home, or how you would personally care for your parent...that's not possible...but having my dad in a facility that is clean, happy, and provides him with the watchful eye and services he needs is perfect for me, and has greatly reduced the stress of having him home alone. The staff throughout the facility is kind and caring. The nursing staff is ON POINT. The food is good, and the activities are plentiful. There have been a few bumps along the transition, but they have been attended to promptly and to my satisfaction, thus far. Dad has his two year anniversary there in December, so we've had a bit of experience there. Overall, I would recommend Harbor Chase, if you're looking for senior living for a parent, be it independent, memory care "light", or full memory care accommodation.

Watching someone move from their home to a community can be hard to see and stressful for all. Harbor Chase helped our friend move from home to their community within a few days time, stress free! The staff is so welcoming and helpful to families and residents. From the moment you tour you meet all the staff, they truly want to get to know you! The community residents are all very friendly and welcoming to new faces! We are pleased to see our friend doing well, he looks like a new man thanks to social engagement that he was in desperate need of! Our friend was someone who was very resistive to moving to a community and Harbor Chase did a wonderful job making him feel welcome and safe!

Please read whole review. Fabulous! Great staff. Wonderful rooms. Amazing chef. That was my thoughts a year an 1/2 ago. We have been here from the beginning and I've seen it all. Short on staff, the food has just become unacceptable. If you want to see the decline of Harbor Chase just look at my photos. The dishes are often filthy. There is an employee that left an entire section of memory care residents alone for EXTENDED periods of time and still works there! As a result of this a resident pulled the fire alarm to get attention. The staff is a revolving door. The bulk of the great staff quit. There are some employees that are great and then we seem to end up begging them to stay. I think we have been through 6 executive directors, countless care partners and 5 directors of memory care. When we first arrived I raved about the food, now it is frequently cold, the portions are cut in half and the bar is not a bar anymore, (they lost their liquor license). Happy hour for the residents consists of coke and diet coke. My family member has been hurt by improper chair transfers, had jewelry stolen and things broken in her room. Why don't we leave you ask. I may, but I am eternally hopeful that things will get better. I feel like I have to be watching all the time. We fight for these residents all the time. There is no assisted living that is perfect, but Harbor Chase in reality is not what they are selling you. They sell it like the Ritz Carlton, it is not.

My dad was nearing the end of his battle with MS and I needed to find him an affordable care center. He couldn't walk anymore and had very poor controls over his basic bodily functions (though his mind was still good), and so he needed special care for an affordable price, as we aren't rich. I contacted HarborChase and heard back very quickly that they were interested in making a deal, and after visiting and touring the facility, was left very impressed with the level of care and luxury of the living quarters. I told her we could afford $5,000 a month and she shook my hand on it. She called me back within an hour of making the deal and asked if we could do $5,500 a month instead. I told her we might be able to, though she was somewhat incoherent and kept asking for the paperwork to be completed as soon as possible. I sent the request to his current living facility (which was an absolutely horrible place) for his files and for setting up an interview, and they took a very long time to get back. When everything was finally sent and a representative came to interview my dad, I heard from my father that they were no longer going to accept him (they didn't notify me in any way). When I emailed her to ask why, she replied "there's too much wrong with him". You always hope that people in this line of work do it because they enjoy helping those that are in need. Make no mistake - it is all about the money. I got him admitted to a different care facility about a month later; he passed away within 2 weeks.

Always a tough thing moving a loved one out of their home and into assisted care.. I wouldn't call this a typical nursing home though. It's more so a stationary cruise ship. Grandma is attended to at all hours of the day when she needs assistance and has her own private room/home for us to visit. She is kept happy and entertained with numerous activities and a fantastic menu!
