I love living at ChestnutSquare. It’s like living permanently at a first class Resort or, as I often tell people”it’s like being on a luxury cruise without the water. I throughly enjoy the independent living: yet, there’s help for me as close as the phone. For example, if my sink clogs up, I report it & it gets fixed at no extra charge. Meals are healthy & delicious. Weekly house keeping is treasured. I attend an exercise class 5 days a week. I enjoy, participating in physical, cognitive & spiritual programs of my choice. One of the most difficult times in a family's life is discussing living arrangements with an aging parent. In our case, the situation was make more difficult due to the effects of Macular Degeneration on my mother-in-law. Thank God we found Chestnut Square. Literally from our first phone call we knew we were in the right hands. Responsive, experienced, compassionate, resourceful.....all describe the staff at CS. My mother-in-law passed away peacefully last month having spent the last five years of her great life feeling loved and nurtured by the incredible staff and culture of Chestnut Square. I spent the better part of 9 months researching the entire retirement community industry to try and find the right/best fit for my mother's needs and preferences. Chestnut Square is such a unique and wonderful place, I consider us fortunate it was an option so nearby where we live in Glenview. It truly is an absolute home run. here is what makes it so special and unique; it was the ONLY independent living community I could find that offers assisted nursing options in 15 minute increments. That may sound like it's not a big deal, but everywhere else and any other external providers we contacted had much higher minimum time charges for coming into my mom's unit to assist her, usually 2 hours minimum time charges. Their unique partnership with Bethany Health seems to afford them the ability to offer this unique option. So, as my mom ages in place, if she just needs help taking meds in the morning, we can pay a 60-min nurse fee. If she needs help just bathing, same thing. It's brilliant and was a major advantage of Chestnut over other facilities. The price and economics of the buy-in were reasonable, they customized my mom's unit to her liking and everything was upgraded when she moved in. My mom loves her unit. Beyond that aspect, the staff is truly exceptional. What you'll notice immediately is how much the staff seem to both like each other, and their jobs. Every person I've interacted with since we moved my mom in last year is always in a good mood, always seems happy to be there and they seem to really enjoy taking care and socializing with everyone. My mom can't stop talking about how much she loves the food, they do a great job of mixing up food options so things stay fresh and new. They offer every type of club, activity, outing, and social option you could want and the entire building is spotless at all times. Nothing but love for everyone at Chestnut. Thank you for taking such great care to serve and support my mom on this next chapter for her. Eternally grateful and thankful for all of you there.

I am into my seventh year of living here. As the years go by, my experience here has become better and better. You don’t have to look for something to do, they have everything right at your doorstep. Exercise, educational, spiritual programs and more! It is easy to have friendships, everybody is different but everybody is alike.

As one of four children of our parents whom are residents, we could not be happier! The kindness, responsiveness, and over the top service of each staff member is nothing short of amazing. And the same from the staff extends to myself and all of my parents visitors. The residents are also amazing people. Whether walking in halls, in elevator, dining room, or activities, you can be guaranteed a smile, hellos, and a genuine interest. My parents, and I and siblings, have been made to feel extremely welcomed since their move in date. That’s remained steadfast! So many interesting programs are consistently on the weeks agenda. Music performances, celebration of calendar events and holidays, educational presentations on relevant topics, and interactive games. There is an abundant of opportunities to engage and participate! The kitchen and dining staff are equally kind and attentive. The dining options are very diverse with significant menu options to choose from each evening. Chestnut Square takes great pride in its attention to cleanliness, beautification, and details. This is clearly evidenced by visiting the facility and noting its outward and inward facility appearance. Clean, well maintained, always decorated beautifully for the various holidays and more. With respect to holidays in particular, the diversity and inclusion of Chestnut Square residents is well demonstrated through holidays, religions, and ethnic celebrations, recognitions, worship opportunities. Having an on-site nurse and personal emergency alert systems, contributes to my siblings and I having peace of mind for our parents safety. My siblings and I absolutely could not be more pleased with our parents choosing Chestnut Square!

Since being here for only 2 1/2 years, I have found everyone very friendly. During a recent hospitalization, residents called me, sent flowers and cards. Chestnut is a senior living community but to me it is a family. I came here like in a cocoon and came out a butterfly. Living here is the best decision my husband and I made. Our mom has lived at Chestnut Square for over four years now and all of us could not be happier. The facility is terrific, the food is great, the residents are friendly and the staff couldn't be nicer or more capable. We've been relying on the in-house caregiver service and it has provided us the flexibility to transition from occasional help to now 24-hour, live-in care without requiring our mom to move to an assisted living facility, something that has always been important to her. My siblings and I live out of town and we cannot imagine being able to have made this work without Chestnut Square and Partners in Healthcare.

The best part of this place is the many nice people who are here. There are many activities, a lot of which are challenging and interesting. The staff are all excellent. The food is very good and there is a wide variety with many options available every day. My wife and I are very happy here.

There is definitely a sense of community among the residents and plenty to keep them busy at all times. My sister Sandra moved into Chestnut Square at The Glen in August of 2023. We had done quite a bit of research and looked at three or four other communities in the region that were nice, but we ultimately chose Chestnut for a variety of reasons. First and foremost were the staff and residents. They were all some of the warmest and friendliest people I've ever met. Not only were they warm and friendly but extremely helpful and very competent, as well as accommodating. The food was excellent, and the entire building was very clean, well-maintained, and quite attractive. There was plenty of programming and amenities both at Chestnut Square, as well as a short walk away in The Glen Town Center. Just across the street is a beautiful natural area with paved paths, a lake, shops, and plenty of places to explore. During her time at Chestnut Square, Sandra made many close friends and even developed a wonderful, close, and fulfilling romantic relationship with another resident who lived down the hall. The most important thing, however, was the dedication the staff had toward the happiness and fulfillment of all the residents. It really showed how happy everyone was in the community. Pretty amazing! When Sandra's health declined and she needed more assistance, Chestnut Square was able to provide additional on-site support through its phenomenal sister affiliate, Partners in Healthcare. The caregivers from Partners treated her and her loved ones like they were their own family. This was all available in Sandra's original apartment with a very thoughtful aging-in-place model, so she wouldn’t need to transfer to another floor or facility. The care was exceptional, providing her with warmth, dignity, and respect. It comes as no surprise that Chestnut Square (a non-profit organization) is driven by their dedication to residents as well as staff”who all seem to really enjoy working there. Our entire experience with Chestnut Square was wonderful and provided the whole family with tremendous peace of mind!

My mother has lived at Chestnut Square for 4.5 years now. She has always been impressed with the kind attention received from the entire staff. Including using people’s names regularly. The social activities are a large part of the glue that holds residents together. Not least is the quality of the meals everyday. A large variety of delicious, nutritious food making heading to the dining room an occasion to look forward to. The facility even provides a small shelf outside every apartment for the occupant to display, and they are proudly displayed, an expression of their individuality. My dad (and previously my mom too) has lived at Chestnut Square since 2018. It’s a great independent senior living facility for older adults. The residents are all very nice and the staff is wonderful..warm, accommodating, and genuinely caring and concerned about their residents. The activities and programs that they have are interesting and there are a large variety of them. There’s always something for everyone. The food is good too! And the transportation services have been very helpful since my dad stopped driving. Our family definitely would recommend Chestnut Square to anyone looking for independent senior living.

The residents are so friendly and helpful to new residents. And there are different card games played plus bingo each week to satisfy those residents who enjoy these games. Dinners are very good and three options are offered daily. A very good place to live!

My mother has lived at Chestnut Square for 4 years. She is very happy and so am I. Chestnut Square is a lovely and well-maintained place. She lives in a very nice apartment: large bedroom, large bathroom, kitchen with all appliances, views from her windows of a beautiful landscaped area complete with gazebo, washer-dryer in her apartment (this was very important to her), a very large storage closet plus 3 regular sized closets (also a storage space on the parking level). Her apartment is cleaned and the bed linens changed by housekeeping weekly. The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful: courteous, friendly and helpful. If she has any concerns (ex. something broken in her apartment) it is addressed by maintenance right away. There are a cross-section of residents from all walks of life. The staff plans fun and interesting activities, including celebrating special days like baseball opening day or Valentine's Day, etc. There is a driver to take residents shopping, to restaurants or doctor appointments within a 5 mile radius. Also, there is a beauty shop on site. My mother has her hair done weekly and she always looks nice. There is a nurse, activity director and chaplain. They even have a chapel, exercise equipment, an art room and a movie room. Best of all, the environment is much safer then her home was. There are elevators, her apartment is on one level, large walk-in shower with safety bars and a bench and she doesn't have to go outside in bad weather. She also was given a safety watch which she would activate if she should fall or needs help. My mother loves living at Chestnut Square and I love that she is so very happy living there!.

Excellent retirement facility! My first and only choice. No regrets about anything regarding it. The food is good and more than ample. The meats and fish are especially prime choice. Location is excellent with transportation, shopping and misc. services. Recently developed area on a former U.S Navy pilot training airbase.

My mother moved into Chestnut Square 5 1/2 years ago. At first she was hesitant to make such a big life change from her home in Michigan. The staff of professionals at Chestnut Square assured that mom’s transition was seamless. As mom says, it didn’t take long before she called it home’. She loves the friendly atmosphere, feeling part of a community, and having her family close by. She said that she felt particularly safe during Covid because of the secure protocols set up. I moved in to Chestnut 5 years ago and didn’t know anyone in the beginning! Everyone was so kind and friendly, I felt at home quickly. I love it here and wish everyone one had the chance to live with us here! There is no stress wonderful meals are available, my apartment is cleaned weekly, fun programs and stimulating events are offered weekly and I have found a lifestyle filled with friends!

Lived here 3.5 years. Made lots of friends. Location is terrific. The setting between a golf course and a fishable lake and the full service Glenview Park Center for trainers and workouts. The hospitals and medical clinics are all within 2-5 miles. (20 min. drive).

Going Above and Beyond for 100th Birthday!!! The staff of Chestnut Square - Vera, Megan, Michael and Maria, always treat the residents like family. My mother-in-law has lived at Chestnut Square for over 17 years. Yesterday was an example of their outstanding care. On her 100th birthday, they organized a fantastic birthday party and most of the residents attended. My MIL was very touched, as well as the rest of the family. Outstanding people at an outstanding senior living facility. Thanks to all at Chestnut Square!

I am a recent resident (about 1 yr.) at Chestnut Square in the Glen and enjoy living here. The facility has a great location across from the Glen with its shopping and restaurants, the Glenview Park Center with swimming and many other activities and Glenview Senior Center. The building and grounds very attractive and are well maintained. We were attracted to its moderate size and compact design-no long hallways. Chestnut Square provides a broad range of activities; discussion groups, card games, talks, entertainment, etc. as well as a beautiful dining room and very good food but probably one of the most important factors was the residents and staff. The staff is warm, helpful and welcoming as are the residents. The residents are a diverse, interesting and caring group. We have many interesting discussions at dinner and other gatherings. I recently moved to Chestnut Square so that I can continue my independent lifestyle while still being close to family. From my first interaction, I was so impressed with how people are treated with a sense of humanity. As a new resident, I was welcomed into the community, which is friendly and comfortable. Within the first few days, both staff and residents greeted me by name. My apartment is a beautiful 1br with a den which is perfect space for me. When I need assistance, the staff goes above and beyond to help me with anything I need. The service provided like transportation to shopping and doctor's appointments, excellent diversified programming, and even a group for my favorite game, has made me feel right at home. The dining room and food service is wonderful where people are welcome to come in comfortable attire to the delicious and generous food which often provides me with a lunch for the next day. But it is the sense of welcome that really stands out. I have met new friends, participated in some wonderful programming--including dancing on New Year's Eve. I was anxious about living in a retirement community but living at Chestnut Square feels like I am at home.

Really grateful we found this place--our mom loves it, and so do we. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful--they all know all their residents by name. The ambiance is lovely; this feels like an upscale, Prairie style apartment building. There's a full calendar of activities, and the staff clearly puts a lot of time and effort into ensuring the quality and variety of offerings, including holiday celebrations.

Chestnut Square is all about choice. One can live privately in a modern apartment or leave your apartment and chose any of the many programs and classes offered ranging from poetry to yoga to book clubs and watercolor painting. At dinner every night, there is a choice of at least three entrees plus numerous side dishes to choose from in our spacious dining room. One can attend movies, Ted Talks or listen to speakers on a variety of topics. Right off campus there is a choice of dining, shopping, or soon, a movie at the Glen Town Center. Gallery Park, across the street, invites nature lovers to stroll its lakeside trails and the Glenview Park Center offers swimming and a variety of fitness classes. Best of all, however, is the choice of friends from all walks of life who have gravitated to Chestnut Square to enjoy this new phase of living. My best advice is to come see for yourself. My family loves Chestnut Square At The Glen! My parents moved in about three years ago and everyone has made all family members feel welcome! With smiles when you walk through the door, to delicious meals served through the gorgeous dining room, my family feels this is home. With only three levels to the building, we feel connected to everything they have to offer starting with the veranda overlooking a beautiful view with a gezebo and my dad loves the workout room and they have a store to buy specialty cards.. We have had a few small parties in a charming room ( reminds me of a small Irish pub) for my Dads 87th B-day and my nieces baby shower. My mom goes to workout classes 3x a week and they have many art classes and things of interest for all. Special celebrations for birthdays! Most importantly, the people that work there are so warm, thoughtful and kind and make my whole family feel welcome every time we visit. I can whole-heartedly recommend Chestnut Square at the Glen to everyone wanting a very " fine" place to live!

Caring staff. Facility is clean, beautiful and feels like home. Residents bond with each other and feel like family. Activities are well planned and varied. Shuttle offers rides to doctors appointments and local shopping. Walking distance to The Glen, Rec center, grocery shopping and park. My dad has lived there for three years and still enjoys all aspects of it.

My mom felt at home the minute she walked in the front door of Chestnut Square. The residents are so welcoming and friendly. They want you to feel part of their community from day one. There are so many activities and excursions to chose from. Units are well maintained. Formal dining every night and brunch on Sunday's. It really has a great deal to offer including a short walk to all the shops and dining at The Glen. My mom is safe, happy and close by her family now. I have Chestnut and the wonderful staff there to thank for that.
