RUN from this place! My Mom went 12 days without a spongebath, given rice for breakfast, never received a toothbrush. Did not receive the PT promised and developed Sepsis while there where she died.

My mother stayed at this nursing facility for a month during the Pandemic restrictions for wound care infection treatment with antibiotics. Staff were very professional and friendly. The care was excellent and they followed the wound care protocol. The communication with family was great as they would call us to provide weekly update with the care team. Visitation were restricted during the pandemic for one family member once per week for 30 minutes. When I went to visit my mother the facility looked clean and you can even smell fresh in the air. My mother speaks highly of the staff and how she felt with them. They would have her on a schedule for eating, rehab therapy such as PT and occupational and activities so she wouldnt get bored. My mother told us the director of the facility would often come around the rooms to speak with the patients and make sure they were satisfied with them. I would recommend this facility based on our personal experience.

I cannot say one negative thing about the Abington. My Grandmother moved into the Abington in 2016 and this became her new home. She was not happy about moving in, but that quickly changed when she realized how amazing the doctors, nurses, and staff were. On top of that, the residents all welcomed her as if they knew her, her whole life. All members of the Abington go above and beyond for their patients-residents. My grandmother passed away recently, and I am so blessed my grandma spent the rest of her days in such a wonderful place. She not only made new friends with the residents, nurses, and staff, they became her family. I am so thankful she had the experience she had at the Abington. Highly recommend!

Our HUGE family will be grateful for EVER for the tender loving care of our mother, grandmother and GREAT grandmother, Virginia Miles. Through decades of care, first for rehabbing after numerous surgeries or injuries, to actual live in residential care, my mother was OVERJOYED with each experience, and every single day and night that she was there. The staff, in every way, has been nothing but amazing in their attention to mom, and all of us, her massive family, from day one. The friendships my mother experienced at the Abington were enriching and life giving to her and all of us too. EVERY lovely touch, conversion, meal with friends, celebrations and communication to us, her family, on behalf of mom, has been outstanding. I, WE can not more highly recommend The Abington of Glenview for the constant care, professional service, compassionate interaction and LOVE that has been given to mom and all of us, continuing even AFTER mom went home to be with the Lord at almost age 95! WE ARE BEYOND GRATEFUL!!

My family is eternally grateful to the Abington and its wonderful staff for the amazing care given to my mother over the past several years. Their loving care helped her to live her final years surrounded by other residents with whom she developed deep friendships. Mom loved the socialization and mealtimes and of course the wonderful food. She enjoyed the activities and the time she could spend in the library or on the patio. We were truly blessed to have Mom as a resident of this wonderful facility.

The Abington did an absolutely fabulous job taking care of my grandmother for the last four+ years. She loved the facility and the care she received was high quality. She passed away earlier this week and the Abington provided nothing but support and comfort for her and for the family as she reached the end of life. I highly recommend the Abington of Glenview!

I have been waiting for this moment to post my review, knowing my mother would live to her final moments here.Just over 3 years ago, my mom was placed into the care of The Abington. Hearing the many stories that circulate the headlines about skilled care facilities around the nation, I was a bit guarded and would have been with any other facility we chose.From day one through my moms passing 3+ years later I found that this isnt just skilled care, its true care. Meaning, they truly care about every resident here. When I see tears of happiness shed when a birthday celebration occurs while staff members gather to sing happy birthday and then line up to hug my mother and wish her a happy birthday is and was beyond expectation. It goes to say, The Abington truly cares for and loves every one of their residents.Whats unfortunate are when pushy, demanding, condescending relatives of other families arrive, placing demands for their loved ones while demeaning the Abington staff in the process. Yet the staff just smiles and says theyll take care of it, believe me, Ive seen it happen.The Abington could definitely charge more money for the services they provide, it is worth it for the high level of care they offer.

This is one of the best if not the best rehabilitation, assisted living, and nursing facilities that you can trust and admit your family member into without being worried that they will not be treated well or without given good care. My mom has been diagnosed with lung cancer stage 4 couple of weeks ago, and she was admitted to Abington for rehabilitation, assisted living, and nursing. Since the time she was admitted till now we didn't see or feel from almost everyone in Abington other than making you feel that she is welcomed, cared about, and most of all fulfill any request you ask for. Starting with the admission team including Matt and Rebecca, passing by director of nutrition and diet Ms. Vickie and her entire team whom has been amazing and wonderful in taking the extra mile to make my mom's difficult diet intake an easy and enjoyable experience for her, in addition to the persistent and professional entire rehab team (occupational and physical) who pushes my mom through her weaknesses and physical challenges to fight such battle, and ending by the nursing and physician team whom showing around the clock the best medical and emotional care to my mom. Can't forget the Concierge manager Peggy, the social workers department, and the upper management team who oversees and manage the entire facility providing peace of mind to us when we face anything that needs their attention, the entire directors' team do meet daily/weekly to discuss and resolve any issues for the patients. Before I admitted my mom here in Abington, I checked other 2-3 facilities in Skokie and Northbrook where I took a tour but was not happy at all of what I saw there. Also, I have used Manor Care in Northbrook last year after my mom had a back surgery and was not satisfied with their treatment to my mom, however Abington just exceeded our expectations and we can't say anything other they ARE WONDERFUL, AND AMAZING with all what they do. They treat my mom and other patients like they are a family. Facility recently renovated, and continued to be renovated. Pretty reception area, a gorgeous dining and restaurant area, pretty decent rehab updated gym, and nice back yard area you can enjoy. Don't forget to visit the live birds room that adds a cute touch to the place. Thank you Abington for all what you do, please continue striving to be the BEST in the northside.. Mike A.

Our father moved into the Abington after a long hospital stay.While none of the family was happy that he needed to stay at a skilled nursingnursing home, we grew to love the staff and the care he received.The staff was dedicated, and concerned about how Dad was progressing.The therapy department was able to work with our requests and Dads abilities.Sadly our father passed away at the Abington.I would recommend the Abington to anyone looking for a place to rehab after a hospital stay.

This was my fourth admission to The Abington for rehab and skilled nursing care over the past 2 1/2 years. I continue to be impressed with the nursing care, the therapy staff, activities coordination, food service and all of the other support staff. Everyone is pleasant and professional; from the receptionist and hair stylist, to the housekeeping and facilities management. My high acuity admissions included complex wound care, central line administration of tightly controlled antibiotics and unstable fractures, which the nursing staff handled with ease. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends!
