Beware: Warning: Unfortunately I recently had a stint at Elevate Care Abington in Glenview. If you, your Parents, or Grandparents are in need of rehab or after hospital care this is literally the place you go to DIE!!!! I have never in my life dealt with such complete ineptitude. The staff is NOT licensed in the United States. They do not speak English(90%) They are NOT authorized to deal with ports or stints though that does not stop them… ended up in the ER after one imbecile tore mine out after lying and saying she was just disconnecting the IV. The food they serve is meat out of a can, or a box, everything is processed, if you get fresh fruit or a fresh vegetable it literally comes with mold or slimy. Everything is saturated with margarine and most their food is labeled from India. Twice had food poisoning and once had to go to the hospital. Literally their entire food supply is guaranteed to give you Cancer. Had to supplement out of pocket to supply my own food. God forbid you’re on a health restricted diet … they will kill you. Physical therapy is non existent and they just sit you in a corner while they go and get others to do the same to while reporting to your insurance company that they are complying. Their staff is absolutely inept at hygiene they will put dirty bedpans on your trays where they then put your food without cleaning it. They will touch everything that is yours after dealing with urine and/or feces. Their management team will come and hear your concerns and say they will follow up yet you NEVER see them again. Their “nurses” have received their licenses in third world countries and most are physically dirty ie hands, hair, and bathed in perfume and cologne to the point of nauseam… obviously to hide their lack of hygiene. How this place is not closed down is beyond my comprehension… but be fore warned💯 #ElevateCareAbington #AbigtonGlenview

The staff on the 2nd floor has beyond exceptional. They answer call lights quickly, follow up on requests promptly, and have been beyond compassionate. Gustavo and Shawn go above and beyond every day. My mom is visually and hearing impaired. They check on her daily to assess any needs she has. They are a Godsend!

My mom in law has been there for about a year now and at first there were a lot of issues with staff and her not getting the care she and all the patients deserve , but after talking with the administrators the quality of care has been much more improved. I would like to recognize ,Susey a wonderful lady who is there for not only my mom in law but for all the patients in the memory care unit. I have seen her interact with all the patients and can see how she goes way and beyond what her job entails by showing care and comfort to all the the patients she takes care of! She treats all of those there like they were her family. She deserves many gold stars for her caring and dedication to the place she works for ! I hope the administration recognizes her loving care and gives her many gold stars!! Just wanted to add Gabriella and Susan also who show kindness and compassion to all the residents in the memory care unit. Gabriella always comes in to say hi when I have been there and also pets our little Roxie dog girl who likes to put smiles on the patients faces . Susan interacts with patients in the common area with much enthusiasm and smiles, taking care of all their needs! Cudos to these two women also . You need more like these three girls , but these alone make me feel comforted that my mom in law and the rest are getting a little something extra you don't see in many other facilities! They all deserve a raise!

I wanted to say thank you to the staff at elevated care @ Abington for giving exceptional support to my dad especially the Physical Therapy Department, they were very punctual and professional in helping my dad in rehabilitating him to get stronger in his ability. Hi My name is Paul and I've been at elevate care Abington for about 2 weeks now. I really appreciate all the staff here I came here after having surprise brain surgery I'm astonished by All the staff members especially John director of guest relations for the great hospitality and care. The nursing care has been number one. The nursing staff here are so caring and I misplaced one of my debit cards and it was brought directly back to me. I'm really surprised that there are still places in the world that actually care about us A.

Our family member struggles with basic requests from the staff for something as vital and basic as external urinary catheters. After suffering from a stroke, he cannot get up on his own. Our family has had to purchase them ourselves from medical supply stores and they still do not remember to use them because the staff does not communicate nor seem to care. His buzzer for help is often ignored and we worry about his well-being when we're not there. No one has an answer about anything. Disappointing.

We arrived at Abington on Thursday evening. We were transferred from another facility and it is like night and day! The Abington is truly amazing here. The CNA's and nurses care about their patients and the family members! They are always available when needed and so helpful! They get my father up and change him every time he needs to be changed. He is not laying in bed 24/7. They get him standing and sitting in the wheelchair without using a lift. They take him to the bathroom so he can sit and use it. They help him with eating when he is tired from dialysis. He developed very bad bed sores from the other facility and at Abington the wound doctor is properly treating it. He is no longer complaining that he is in so much pain and is sitting without any pain. The admissions director, Lauren and Diya, and the director of nursing, Wally, are just amazing and accommodating !!!!! I will also mention that someone is always here with my father and we personally see how the patients are treated. If you have a loved one that needs to be at a nursing home whether it's for short term or long term I highly recommend Abington in Glenview.

I visited my mother today and the facility had an event with four young children and a folk singer. My mother had a great time, she was even tapping her toes. The singer interacted with both the children and seniors and seemed to have a great time himself. After the event was over my mom said that was the most fun she ever had at Abington.

After talking to and seeing Diya Graham help my grandma I can say I am sold. It is so good to see the admission coordinator helping out on the floor. She answered so many questions and was absolutely a pleasure to speak with. Very informative and she gave me a sense of relief while we are on this journey. I absolutely recommend her and their services!

Liked the precautions for visitors coming into the building in the building a case of Covid was present. Provided face shields, mask and hand sanitizer. I was surprised to an employee cleaning a room without her mask over her nose and mouth.

My mother stayed at this nursing facility for a month during the Pandemic restrictions for wound care infection treatment with antibiotics. Staff were very professional and friendly. The care was excellent and they followed the wound care protocol. The communication with family was great as they would call us to provide weekly update with the care team. Visitation were restricted during the pandemic for one family member once per week for 30 minutes. When I went to visit my mother the facility looked clean and you can even smell fresh in the air. My mother speaks highly of the staff and how she felt with them. They would have her on a schedule for eating, rehab therapy such as PT and occupational and activities so she wouldnt get bored. My mother told us the director of the facility would often come around the rooms to speak with the patients and make sure they were satisfied with them. I would recommend this facility based on our personal experience.

I cannot say one negative thing about the Abington. My Grandmother moved into the Abington in 2016 and this became her new home. She was not happy about moving in, but that quickly changed when she realized how amazing the doctors, nurses, and staff were. On top of that, the residents all welcomed her as if they knew her, her whole life. All members of the Abington go above and beyond for their patients-residents. My grandmother passed away recently, and I am so blessed my grandma spent the rest of her days in such a wonderful place. She not only made new friends with the residents, nurses, and staff, they became her family. I am so thankful she had the experience she had at the Abington. Highly recommend!

Our HUGE family will be grateful for EVER for the tender loving care of our mother, grandmother and GREAT grandmother, Virginia Miles. Through decades of care, first for rehabbing after numerous surgeries or injuries, to actual live in residential care, my mother was OVERJOYED with each experience, and every single day and night that she was there. The staff, in every way, has been nothing but amazing in their attention to mom, and all of us, her massive family, from day one. The friendships my mother experienced at the Abington were enriching and life giving to her and all of us too. EVERY lovely touch, conversion, meal with friends, celebrations and communication to us, her family, on behalf of mom, has been outstanding. I, WE can not more highly recommend The Abington of Glenview for the constant care, professional service, compassionate interaction and LOVE that has been given to mom and all of us, continuing even AFTER mom went home to be with the Lord at almost age 95! WE ARE BEYOND GRATEFUL!!

My family is eternally grateful to the Abington and its wonderful staff for the amazing care given to my mother over the past several years. Their loving care helped her to live her final years surrounded by other residents with whom she developed deep friendships. Mom loved the socialization and mealtimes and of course the wonderful food. She enjoyed the activities and the time she could spend in the library or on the patio. We were truly blessed to have Mom as a resident of this wonderful facility.

The Abington did an absolutely fabulous job taking care of my grandmother for the last four+ years. She loved the facility and the care she received was high quality. She passed away earlier this week and the Abington provided nothing but support and comfort for her and for the family as she reached the end of life. I highly recommend the Abington of Glenview!
