2/7/24 improving. Showered and properly dressed on two consecutive visits again. Housekeeping definitely needs more staff or more frequent cleaning. Daily is needed. I understand it's only twice weekly? Both hearing aids missing for sometime now. One finally recovered, but never in her ear. I'd loved to see the improve to a 3 - maybe even a 4 10/7/23 found my mother properly showered and dressed for the 2nd consecutive time. If this continues I will adjust my rating. Initial review: Would give a zero but assisted living experience was decent. Now that my Mom is in memory care and the place has gone down hill so much since she got there I am looking for a better place for her. There are some nice folks working here but my Mom rarely gets even the most basic of care unless I'm there to make sure it happens. Reporting up to corporate has not improved the situation. Despite the best efforts of some it continues to deteriorate. Seeing the response from oaks I respond: Call me if you can think of anything I have yet to bring to your attention. Ps. Note the number of avg-boosting 5's written by people Oaks pays and the still have the lowest avg rating of any care home in the area. 9/30 finally! I found my Mom in clean clothing with clean hair that had obviously been washed the day before as scheduled. Hearing aids were charged but in a cup on her jewelry stand, aid told me she'd removed them. Would be nice if they tried to get her to put them back in as it was no trouble to find them and get her to do it herself. 9/23 Found Mom in a terrible state, greasy hair, nasty dirty clothes and undergarments. Care director tried to tell me she'd been showered the day before but if that were true her hair was definitely not washed. So I showered and shampooed her myself since there was only one aid and the med tech and that aid had more than enough to do on her own. 9/16 My sister came to visit while I have been I'll, found Mom with no hearing aids in as usual. Same as my visit on this day. When I complained about it the aide said, 'Well you wouldn't like it much either if they went missing, would you? (as the frequently have - usually in her damn bathroom soap dish where apparently I am the only one who can see them) So for fear of losing her hearing aids again, my mother is deprived of being able to interact and actually hear communications rather than pretending - she can fool you for a minute, but it's rather sad and KNOWN to contribute to the decline of dementia patients. 8/27 not wearing dirty clothes to bed so she may have actually gotten some evening care! Still wearing her hearing aids though, which I removed and placed on the charger. Hopefully someone will put them back in when doing her morning care. 8/26 again I find my mother wearing the same clothes she had on yesterday, indicating she received no evening care last night or morning care today. It's ground hog day here in the land of neglected dementia patients. Thought it was nice she had her hearing aids on for a change only to find out that she actually slept in them. I cleaned them with the wipes I provide and put them on the charger. 8/25. Called ahead and asked that they not give my Mom dinner as I am taking her out for her 90th bday. I arrive and she's eating. And it's shower day and she is unshowered. Hair greasy. And her hearing aids on the charger so she can't relate and hear what's going on around her. 8/26 10:15 found Mom in the same clothes she slept in no hearing aids, as per usual. Asked, Who did my Mom's morning care? Aid on phone says, I did. And I disagreed, stating the issues I pointed out. She says I 'jumped down her throat'. I guess telling someone she needs her face washed teeth brushed and a fresh change of clothing, is jumping down someone's throat. Wish I didn't have to come daily to insure she receives the most basic of care. I feel bad for out of state family members, unlikely their loved one are getting any care. Certainly not the care they are paying for when most aids can be found sitting around on their phones most of the time.

As an old frequent visitor, I just found out that the woman Stephanie who worked at the desk for as long as I can remember is no longer there. She was the face that greeted you when you walked through the front door. I was sad to hear that she had left, so I just wanted to say Habersham needs more workers like her. I want to thank her for being a breath of fresh air for so many of us, especially when you have so many things going on in the facility t which is not always kind. she was an awesome receptionist.

My father has resided here for about a year and our family is so grateful for the care he receives. He is surrounded by joy. They keep the residents active with fun things on a daily basis. We were worried that he would be bored or depressed living in a care home but he is clearly happy and healthy here. We visit several times a week and the staff are always attentive and friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

To all the staff, managers and residents of oaks at Habersham, I find it hard to express how much you meant to my Aunt Mary and our entire family. The love and care was done with true grace and I cannot begin to thank you all for everything you did for her. Each and every one of you touched her life in her final days and I want you to realize that. The individuals within the walls of Habersham will forever be part of our family. May our good Lord bless each and every one of you!

My mother has been a resident at Habersham House for a year. I am so impressed with the quality of care and individualized attention she receives each and every day from the caring staff. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic they have done a simply outstanding job of keeping residents safe, while caring for them with love and kindness. Mom considers Habersham House her home, and I cant think of a better endorsement than that from a resident. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Katie, our salesperson was so informative and sensitive about all of my parents needs. Shazia Arroyo has done an outstanding job as well. Thank you so much. . My brother , Larry and I are so pleased !!! Thank you so much!

My mother has been a resident of Habersham House for 6 years. The current director, Shazia Arroyo, is terrific. For about 4 years there were a series of failed efforts by short term directors and Habersham House suffered. Since the Ms. Arroyo came, Habersham House has performed much better. The food is good, the staff caring, although it changes all the time, the facility is clean. Most importantly, when something goes wrong, Habersham House fixes the problem and communicates with me about the solution. My mother is comfortable at Habersham House and my mind is at ease with her in their day to day care. In addition, it is a good value for what one gets.

I can't say enough good things about Haversham House and the director, Shazia Arroyo, who gave me a tour on April 23rd. I was looking for a place for my 93-yr-old cousin Mary. I wasn't sure if Mary needed more intense nursing care than Haversham House provided. Both Shazia and I knew that the chance of Mary meeting Haversham House's criteria was a long shot. Nevertheless, Shazia volunteered to send one of her nurses to the facility where Mary had been staying. Three days later the nurse reported that Mary would not be able to come to Haversham House. Of course I was disappointed, tho not surprised. There are many disappointments in situations like this. The important thing, for me, was that I came away with a profoundly healed feeling because of Shazia's caring and her professional focus on my problem. This was the first time I'd gone though this experience, but I'd seen enough of the elder care world to know that Haversham House -- and Shazia -- are in a class by themselves.

I am so pleased with the care my mother is getting at Habersham House. Having her move into assisted living -- especially with me and my brother not living nearby -- was wrenching, but the staff has been wonderful. Each time I visit there, I leave so reassured that she is in caring and capable hands! Staff members really make an effort to make her feel comfortable and involved. They demonstrate real empathy and understanding, and have gone the extra mile to keep us informed. The apartments themselves are marvelous -- her 2 bedroom is a lovely place. Most importantly, Habersham House doesn't feel like an institution, but a real home. I can't say enough good things about it!
