Moving my mom to Brookdale Chambrel Roswell was a difficult decision because she tends to struggle with change. Thankfully, our experience has been wonderful. She has a beautiful apartment and quickly met several neighbors who helped her feel comfortable and confident navigating the building. The sense of community has made a big difference. Timeca has also been wonderful, always following up and patiently answering my many questions. I’m very impressed by the variety of activities offered and the kindness of both the staff and residents. We’re very grateful for the welcoming environment.

Our experience with EVERYONE here has nothing but positive! Even when visiting the residents smiled and told us how much they enjoyed living there. My Mom is 90+ and it was a very hard decision for her to leave a home she loved so much. However, it turned out that three of her neighbors decided they were moving to Brookdale Cantrell which has been wonderful for them all! My Mom’s apartment needed a little TLC before moving in, and I can’t speak highly enough of Timeca Williams making sure everything happened before my Mom moved in! And her staff reacted swiftly when we discovered any items that needed to be addressed. Timeca was there, after her hours, when my Mom’s TV stopped working. She called an additional member who was able to get the system working right! Guy

Placing our mother at Brookdale Chambrel has turned out to be a very positive experience. Because our mother needed additional care to maintain her independence, we enlisted the services of Brookdale At Home, located within the same facility. Caregivers have been compassionate and responsive to any requests we have made on her behalf. Staff have gone above and beyond to make our mother's daily living seamless. Timeca, Christina, and Larissa have all worked hard to ensure she gets the care she needs. We have also found the food service to be quite good, providing a great variety for residents. I can not say enough good things about the activities offered to residents. Music, local trips, games, shows, speakers, and church services, both in the building and transportation to churches in the community, give residents many options. Activities are frequently designed to include family members of residents, from grandchildren on up, Our entire family has been very pleased with Chambrel.

We were using Brookdale At Home for our parents from April to November 2024 for 24 HR service . During this time we worked with several Caregivers and in any service environment it is the knowledge and dedication that makes a good Caregiver. The 5 that rise above the rest who strive to understand the client, the home (microwave), those special cooked meals, as well as try to keep it clean and neat as the client would. Those long term Caregivers were Ayodele, Timeca, Maxine, Taracia, and Salma. As in any service situation, there were vary levels of knowledge but the willingness to ask, learn, and maintain cleanliness is what is key in at Home Care. We experienced several Caregivers, the one's who sit there on their phone/tablet/pc and have to be asked to do something, and we had to make those evaluations and notify Brookdale to remove them from our schedule. Please note, we did not use Brookdale's facilities just their At Home Care. Additionally one key takeaway is the need for client/home specific training as each is different and the need for a robust back up for personnel that are out for illnesses, vacations, and the "dead battery" versus asking the family to cover. To repeat, the 5 Caregivers we saw as dedicated to their service and client were: Ayodele, Timeca, Maxine, Taracia, and Salma. I hope this post gets back to Brookdale Management and those Caregivers.

We moved my Mom to Brookdale Chambrel over a year ago after a bad experience at another retirement community in Roswell. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Mom has a large, bright apartment, the staff is very friendly and competent. They go out of their way to provide a good experience for residents and their guests. There's a wide variety of activities on-site and off-site. And everyone (staff and residents) are friendly. I'd also like to recognize the following staff who've gone "above and beyond" providing great service: Timeca W.- one of Mom's caregivers and now Marketing Coordinator, Kathi P., Marketing (she sold us on moving here and helped make Mom's move easier), Kristina M., Resident Svcs., Danielle B.- Concierge, Regina K.- Concierge, and Larissa J.- Brookdale at Home Manager. If your loved one needs any kind of individual attention DON’T bring them here to the Memory Care facility. First, the marketing director lied to us about the type of care and frequency of care that my loved one would receive. The staff is absolutely horrible. There was no acknowledgment of us when we arrived. I literally had to track down staff members and asked them for everything we needed. No welcome by anyone. In addition, the facility didn’t even have enough staff to serve dinner. The daughter of one of the residence was forced to serve dinner just to get it out quick enough. Finally, on day three of my loved one being there, and only after bitching and complaining to the head nurse, the facility finally scheduled time for us to create a detailed plan for my loved one. Why was this not done before we moved in? The management of this place is a disaster. Run the other way!

I have been here a year Oct 16 2024. Lovely apt. Food good. Diffulocty in finding dining partners. Took me 10 months to connect with a group. Most of us enjoy eating with people. I have made connections through book club and Pray for America. Best part is my daughter lives about 2 miles away and pops in often. Enjoy activities offered

After three months of diligent searching , applying specific criteria to over twenty communities, Brookdale ended up as the number one choice, and after living here over two months, I KNOW my choice was the right one

We checked numerous places for senior living communities around the country. We are 80 & still independent, but feel a newfound confidence that we can get great care as we age & not be deposited in a nursing home the way our parents were. We especially liked the attractive independent houses & cottages available. Also Brookdale has the best business model ” rent for life! Many other senior living communities we looked at wanted a deposit of hundreds of thousands of dollars, plus monthly rent, which most middle class retired people would rather leave (their savings & investments ” what they’ve worked for all their lives) to their progeny. I have recommended this place to a number of old friends & my siblings. They haven’t planned for the fourth quarter at all! SCRATCH the above!!! Brookdale Chambrel now has raised our rent $500-600 per month 3 times. The corporation (publicly-traded) is broke, help is scarce or non-existent, and the popular Executive Director quit. The cottages were promised WiFi for 2+ years. We cottagers petitioned Brookdale to share the cost but we are still waiting for an answer. Brookdale sent an interim manager who comes part of each month & then goes home to Florida. Then we’re on our own. No cognizant resident is happy!! Our neighbor just moved out & discovered mold growing in the back of his closet (see picture). Our garbage disposal backs up gunk into our dishwasher. Maintenance has jimmy-rigged it 4 times & finally decided the dishwasher needed to be replaced. That was months ago. How are we still alive! One business Brookdale contracts with won’t come back because it says they don’t get paid in a timely manner. A sharp-eyed resident said he checked Brookdale’s spreadsheet & discovered the corporation (1) is running on debt, (2) has NO cash, and (3) the CEO Cindy Baier makes millions. How could we have known?? We have made the most wonderful (senior) friends at Brookdale, but we are leaving for greener pastures ” Sanford Estates ” 4 miles away. It was built by Hawthorn Properties, a stable private company.

What is among the first five questions you are likely to ask when you seek to become familiar with a retirement facility - with Chambrel Roswell? After types of living arrangements (i.e., independent living, assisted living, memory care); after cottage or apt.; after cost; after food services; after personal care aspects. You come down to what other living details are there? What about access to a library, a salon, medical assistance, daily personal care or what about physical support? Now, you have reached the age where individual care and physical skills are needed more than ever. Well, Brookdale Chambrel offers an "in house" physical therapy department with occupational and speech therapies as well. Brookdale Chambrel is one of the few living facilities in the metro Atlanta area that offers a Medicare-recognized therapy center right in the main building. You don't have to make outside arrangements, schedule appointments, arrange transportation and the like. Further, the therapists are certified, well- qualified and ready to assist. After evaluation as to your personal needs, an individualized program is set up and you are "on the calendar ready to go to work". That schedule is sufficiently flexible to accommodate doctor's appointments and the like. Should you be ill or incapacitated the therapist will come to your living place and carry out the assignment. Where else could one find such an easy to use arrangement? Clearly, it's a winner! In my personal experience with the PT lab I have had four two-month sessions in the five plus years of living here: for balance, for strength, for flexibility and the most recent for strength and posture correction. With each session the necessary follow-up exercises were provided. The therapists are helpful, friendly but always task oriented. With this last visit I decided any future improvement is strictly up to me to utilize a defined exercise program. Throughout my experiences I noted the therapists are major encouragers. Even slight improvements are praised. Some clients come away displaying what I consider remarkable improvement - some I could not have expected. Each client should applaud the therapists, their skill set and dedication with which they seek to improve our individual physical living toolkit. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help and answer questions. The facility and grounds are comfortable, clean, inviting and well kept. We have beautiful outside areas for walking. The kitchen goes out of its way to please everyone’s appetite. The staff is very open to feedback and input from the residents. There are many, many activities. Something for everyone!

My mother has been living at Brookdale Chambrel for a little over 3 years. The staff have gone above and beyond to engage the residents and keep them active. This has been particularly hard for everyone during COVID, but they have done an outstanding job. They have also communicated very well to the families so that we all know what is going on. My in laws lived at Chambrel several years ago. It was a great place then and is still a great place now!!

My mom stayed here for a short time before I felt I needed to put her in another facility. What I appreciated about Brookdale most was that ALL the staff REALLY care about your loved one. Naqui is a superstar there and i wish they could clone him. The facility is very big and he does his best to be available. I felt communication was good as well. I appreciate the front desk folks especially Regina. She is a sweet heart. All her caregivers were patient and kind.

My mother has lived in this community for a year now. It is a very old community and the common areas do need updating. They have somewhat updated the apartments which are acceptable. They offer a lot of activities to keep my mom busy if she chooses. The food is my biggest gripe. They do not have a chef on the property. The meals are very inconsistent and the portion size varies daily. Some meals are good while others are inedible. My mother no longer cooks so her main meal for the day absolutely needs to be edible. I think this property still has a lot of work to do.
