Reviews The Cohen Home
March 2023
Hi: I've been a resident here going on six years and I'm happy I chose the Cohen Home over others that I visited. The staff is very friendly here and everyone, from management to maintenance, acts toward the residents in a really caring manner. It gave me pleasure when i clicked on five stars in my review because the Cohen home really deserves it.

The decision to place a loved one in an assisted living facility is never an easy one. We chose the Cohen Home and have never looked back. This is truly a family of warm, caring, competent people who welcomed us in with open arms. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!

I can’t say enough about The Cohen Home….the facility, staff, and residents. I knew from the moment I first walked in that this was the place!! It felt like “home”. A warm, family feel …it has made a huge difference in my husband. He looks forward to and participates in the many activities that are offered and has truly settled in to this wonderful family. Thank you Cohen Home!

My mother has been living here for a year and LOVES it!! The staff is exceptional!! She especially enjoys all of the activities that Keisha plans for the residents. Keisha is extremely creative and enthusiastic which has made a HUGE difference in my mom’s attitude and outlook. Collette has also been an incredible nurse who has always communicated with me and truly cared about my mom’s wellbeing. I would highly recommend The Cohen Home to anyone!

What a relief to have found the Cohen Home for my mom. She is now safe and secure in Avery enriching environment. The staff is super attentive and encourages to get up, dressed and participate in mind-stimulating activities like trivia, games, music, and more. Its making all the difference. I cant say enough good about this place - the food, service, amenities and medical care are beyond anything we hoped for. Also, they are super careful with COVID precautions and have had no cases, unlike many other long term care facilities. My family and I highly recommend the Cohen Home which, comparatively speaking is an excellent value.

Our family made the decision to move Mom from an independent living situation in Florida to the Cohen Home several months ago. I am so happy that we made that fateful decision! I feel secure in the knowledge that her needs and desires are respected and that she is so well cared for. She has a number of medical conditions and the nursing and dietary staff there have been fantastic in ensuring she is comfortable. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this facility for your loved one.

My mother has been a resident for over a year and I have only great things to say about the staff. The staff is caring and very attentive. They always great my mother with a smile. Staff is always available to answer any questions or concerns. Every resident is treated like a welcome member of the family. Health and medical concerns are handled promptly. Staff is always available to answer any questions. Moving my mother into the Cohen Home was a very wise decision.

Moving your loved one to an assisted living facility is a difficult decision. When the time came to move my Dad, I looked into a various possibilities, but I have never regretted my choice of The Cohen Home. From the first moment we took the tour, we could tell that this place was different. It wasnt a facility, it was home and we were made to feel welcomed, respected and loved. After two and a half years, not only are we treated like family, we have become family. We have formed genuine caring relationships with the staff, the other residents and their loved ones. There is so much stress worrying about an ailing and aging parent. The care and attention my Dad is receiving from the Cohen Home helps put me and my Mom at ease. We have the utmost confidence that everyone who interacts with Dad treats him like their own relative. Any questions or concerns I might have are addressed quickly and professionally. And Im always provided with more than enough information to make educated and informed decisions. The love and support my father receives being a resident here has provided him a quality of life, I am not sure he would have gotten anywhere else. This was easily the best decision for our family during this difficult time.

My siblings and I moved my father into The Cohen Home in May 2018, after our mother passed, from home is South Carolina. We couldnt have made a better decision. From the first moment we walked in the door to look at the facility, to move-in, to today, the staff have been warm and inviting, doing everything they could to make us feel welcomed and a part of the family. My father has several health issues, and, based on our experiences with Dads previous facility, we were very concerned about The Cohen Homes ability to deal with them. They put us at ease from the first moment we met with them, assuring us that they are well experienced in dealing with someone who requires Dads level of care, and they were right. Dad has done so much better since we moved him here. He is a welcome member of the family there. The staff love him and look forward to seeing him every day. He has made friends, and has his group he eats with and his group he socializes with before mealtime. Any time we have had questions or concerns, the staff are ready and willing to meet with us and discuss. I can walk into the office any time the staff are there, ask to speak with them, and be welcomed warmly into the office for a discussion. In fact, that happened just today, with my concerns addressed and answered in under 10 minutes. Any time we have had a concern about Dads care, they are addressed promptly and quite to our satisfaction. The facility itself is bright, airy, and spacious. Residents have several different areas where they can gather with each other or family for a nice chat. The front sitting room has a baby grand piano people are free to play as the mood strikes. There are also several community rooms with TV or the ability to play YouTube and other streamed content, or attend mini-seminars on no end of different topics. Residents rooms are cozy and well-appointed, with private baths and small kitchenettes. If you have a loved one who requires assisted livingmemory care, I strongly suggest The Cohen Home. We are extremely happy with our decision and cant recommend The Cohen Home highly enough.

Exceptional staff of caring, concerned and respectful people. Time and time again they have demonstrated their professionalism and expertise. After having our mom at one of those large assisted living facilities we have found the more boutique personalized experience of the Cohen Home to be a perfect fit for our mom and our family. The difference is clear to us and must be to the staff as well as the turnover rate amongst the staff is virtually non existent. We love the experience and highly recommend the Cohen Home to anyone looking for a caring and respectful environment for their loved ones.
October 2020
My mother has lived at the Cohen Home for the last 2 months and we are so happy that we made the decision to make this her new home. We looked and interviewed so many memory care properties and none compared to TCH. It was quite stressful and frightening to realize that we were at this point in her life and would have to trust in others to take care of her. We love the staff and so does our mother. They treat her with such kindness and care. It is such a relief to have such wonderful people care for our mother. They treat her like she is their family member, not just a resident at the property they work at. During COVID, it is especially hard as we are not able to visit on a regular basis and do the things we typically would for her however the staff is always there to assist us in whatever we need. During this disturbing time they have provided my mother and the other residents with a safe and healthy environment and adhere to all the health guidelines. I would highly recommend making this your loved ones new home if you should be looking for an assisted livingmemory care property. The quality of care provided here will truly make the transition easier for you and your loved one.
August 2020
My mother has lived at The Cohen Home for 6 years and it is truly amazing. She loves the activities and going out to to lunch. The caregivers have all been there for a long time- like 10 and 15 years and they are so good to her. The Jewish holidays are specially fun and special to our family. So grateful for this place!
August 2020
My mother and father have been residents here since August of 2018. We chose the Cohen Home, with their blessing, for a number of reasons. Comparatively speaking, its small. There are 42 studio, one and two bedroom apartments, so the number of residents is smaller than any place we visited. Which means more time and attention for the residents. Its residents are predominantly Jewish and services are conducted on Shabbat and the other holidays, conducted by lay people or local rabbis from nearby congregations or facilities. The biggest factor in our decision was the immediate warmth, care and concern for the residents that we felt when we visited. And in the months since that time, that feeling has only increased. The Cohen Homes greatest strength is its people. Theyre delightful, caring and concerned with the wellbeing of everyone in the facility. We wouldnt and didnt consider any other place.
May 2020
My mom has been here 3 years and we couldnt have imagined her being this happy at this stage of her life. The staff, the activities and the new friendships have truly made this a home and community. I recommend The Cohen Home to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for a family member.
May 2020
I hesitate to call the people who work here employees...they seem more like family. Our grandmother lived here for almost a year before she passed away and our experience from the beginning was phenomenal. The staff here treats every resident like a member of their own family and we never doubted that our family member was in more than capable hands. Kimone took the extra steps to keep in communication with us as we were out of the country on a vacation. The sense of peace she offered my dad and aunt...being able to FaceTime with my grandmother and regularly check in with the staff...is beyond words. We are so sad to have lost our grandma, but to know the last year was spent here, with people who really cared, is a complete blessing.

Dad has become so much happier since hes been here. We are thrilled with the people in charge. They are caring and attentive.

My aunt has lived here for over 2 years and this is a great place for her and other seniors to live. My aunt and our family are very happy she is living at The Cohen Home and receiving great care. The staff is very caring and loving to not just the residents but the family members as well. I enjoy stopping in for a visit or volunteering to help where I can. I am always welcomed with smiling faces and open arm.

Last night I attend the Battle of the Sisterhoods Trivia Night which was hosted by The Cohen Home. The facility was exceptionally clean, the staff seemed sincerely welcoming, and the food was excellent. I left with a very positive impression .

Working at The Cohen Home, you feel like family. The residents are truly some of the most wonderful people Ive ever known, and the staff is always so incredibly supportive of one another. While nothing in life is ever perfect, I honestly cant imagine a more loving place to be. The building is designed much like a home, and many of the relationships feel much like family. Caring for the residents is more than just a job. Youll find yourself thinking about the residents while youre not at work, or smiling and laughing as you realize how much you enjoy their company while youre at work. What I love most about The Cohen Home is how the staff and residents go through the thick and thin of it all together as a team. Just like anything in life, there are ups and downs, but were always there for each other at the end of the day. This is the way assisted living is supposed to be. On that note, I love you all so much and wish you nothing but the very best!
