Austin, Nikko, Isreal and the rest of the team at Gardens of Gainesville have been wonderful to work with. My family have been staying at GOG for a little over a month and so far I have been very pleased with everything. They communicate with me often and that alone makes me feel more comfortable than the other places we have been.

Lovely community with caring staff.

The Gardens of Gainesville will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only did my grandmother thrive there, but the relationships we both built along the way are memories I'll always cherish. Thank you Team Gardens!

The Christmas program was beautiful and very professional

My husband and I have been living at Gardens of Gainesville for 2 months. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on the ground floor with a patio in the Independent Living part of facility. We are both in our 80’s and feel very safe and comfortable here. Cathrine gave us a tour and she was wonderful. She answered all of our questions and was extremely nice and friendly. Our apartment has a very nice patio with access to the front of the building without having to leave and go through the lobby. We have a small dog and having a facility that allowed pets was very important to us. The entire staff is just great. The other residents are very friendly and feel like family. They are very professional but are very friendly and eager to help. There are always numerous activities everyday of the week. The food is delicious with plenty of choices. We couldn’t be any happier and consider this our forever home.

Care was inconsistent and barely provided at times especially on the weekends, meds were not given and family was not notified of the issue, dad was constantly in the hospital. Not well equipped for people needing a higher level of care. Things did improve but compared to where he is now it the improvements only made a slight difference. Not a very good experience.

When it became time to put my dad into a memory care facility, my brother and I toured every option in Gainesville. Each had their +/- but we ultimately chose Gardens of Gainesville. He was a resident from July 2024 to May 2025. Initial Impression: The facility has a nice southern charm and warm vibe. Jamie L. was extremely helpful during the transition process, helping us understand some of the best practices to acclimate him. Resident Care: This is where the Gardens truly stood out. The staff genuinely cared about my dad. They got to know his habits, personality and worked to keep him happy and comfortable. Maintenance: Needs improvement. Requests took a lot of time to be resolved. Staff: There are many that contributed to a positive experience but I do have to mention a few special people. Chris: A caregiver in the memory unit is one of a kind. He is patient, kindhearted and has an uplifting spirit. Alex: The director of memory care was always checking on us to make sure any needs were heard, even after my dad’s passing. Zeke: A med tech at the facility was especially attentive to my dad’s care as we went through the hospice process. He always took extra time to speak to us, including my dad even though we were not sure he could understand. Going through this process isn’t pleasant no matter where you are. The Gardens did a great job making my dad’s final time on earth peaceful.

I have recently moved my mom from her forever home in SC into the Gardens of Gainesville. I researched several senior care facilities before we landed in their independent living community. This community stood out immediately with a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere from its staff to the residents. Paula conducted a thorough tour of the community and all of the many amenities and was quick to answer the many questions or concerns I had. She even brought her flowers on her move in day! The staff has been very accommodating to ensure my mom’s transition was a smooth one. The director of maintenance, LaMar has been very prompt and efficient with any work orders placed. The food is delicious and so many options to choose and dining staff very friendly! We have been here a month and so far more than 5 stars!!! Theresa Panter MSN, NP-C

Phones, TV, and Wi-Fi are constantly down. Today is 18 straight days of the phones not working, and this has happened multiple times. My mother has dementia, and when she goes so long without hearing from her family, she gets very sad, lonely, and fearful. She starts to think we’ve abandoned her or we've been injured. It’s been very hard for her. We have called, texted, emailed, begged, threatened, pleaded, but the Gardens of Gainesville and Five Star Senior Living don’t seem to care. My mom has been there 94 days and has been without a way to contact the outside world 35 of those days — more than a third of her time there. Management responding with, “We’ve turned in a help ticket” is simply not good enough. And if they can’t get the phones to work, what else is going to break and not get fixed? And do they offer a discount for all the days they don’t provide services? Of course they don’t. The staff on the ground is hard-working, caring, and simply wonderful. But the management is horrendous.

I came here for a tour with my grandma. Unfortunately we didn’t pick this place but Paula was amazing. She was very helpful and so sweet. My grandma absolutely loved her!!
February 2024
Paula was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable about the community. She took the time to meet my mom at her rehab facility and assisted us determining the best place for her. I appreciate her kindness and compassion.

Moved my mother in recently couldn’t be happier with the decision. Great place, the process was smooth and made it easy for us
January 2024
My great aunt used to stay here before she passed. I've been there so many times visiting her. Everytime, from walking in to my aunt's grand exit, was a special visit. The facility is very clean, all the staff are very kind and tended to my aunt with the utmost care. They even comforted my family and myself during my aunt's transition and sent flowers. And the remodeling is phenomenal. It looks better now than before, which makes it more calm and relaxing. If I need this service when I get older, I'll tell my children to bring me here. Not once did my aunt complain or had any issues with anyone or anything here! FYI, she complained about everything in life before coming here. I would like to thank the whole team for being with my family and I through our processing and everything. I highly recommend this facility!

Paula, the director of sales, has been extremely helpful and patient over last three months while we work to move my 96yr old grandmother , into independent living, at the Gardens of Gainesville . The facility and staff are spectacular!

The facility upon first impressions from the tour is excellent. However, the Director of Sales and Marketing needs to be taught the correct term to be used for "entrance fee" instead of misleading possible clients by calling it a "refundable deposit". It was explained to me by this individual that there is a $2500 deposit, which is refundable if the client is not approved for admittance. This was all that was mentioned about the so-called "deposit". A few days later, upon approval of a parent into the facility, it was then explained to me by the same individual, that this $2500 was a facilities fee and it did not apply to any months rent nor was it refundable upon the completion of the residents stay. I did not appreciate being mislead as $2500 is a substantial sum of money. I also recommend reading ALL documents thoroughly during the admittance meeting. Some documents were not explained as they are written. BEWARE! Given the "deposit" lingo used, and had I not been allowed the time needed to read through all documents, I would have walked out and started over with a new facility. The only thing that saved me as a client was the beautifully maintained facilities that I witnessed during the tour. I hope all goes well moving forward. Time will tell.

My first experience was with my mother as a resident of the Holbrook. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were many residents and it was an active community. After Mother passed and my mother in law needed a place to move from Virginia I recommended the Gardens. Due mostly to Covid there are fewer residents. There have been multiple staff changes over the year that my mother in law has lived there. What has not changed is the caring atmosphere and beauty of the facility. There is a homey, warm feeling that is due to the friendly staff and the design of the building. There are fireplaces and cozy sitting areas on every floor. On Tuesdays and Thursdays residents can invite their friends and relatives for lunch in the deli. A variety of events are posted daily. The hair dresser that is available on site two days a week is so kind and helpful. The four star rating was due to the fact that there have been multiple staff changes over the past year and the quality of the food. The quality of the food has not been consistent although in the past month I have seen an improvement. Overall, Gardens of Gainesville is a lovely facility and I feel with the new staff changes will be a five star again soon.

I recently toured the community Gardens of Gainesville for a possible placement for my mother, not being sure if I was looking at Independent or Assisted Living, the staff was very helpful, thoroughly explained the process and offered an assessment to help with find a best fit for my mother. I am still in the process, but appreciate all of the staff and feel this is a good fit. The rooms were spacious, we toured during mealtime and were offered to have a lunch with the Sales Director and residents. I loved that the residents looked happy and I enjoyed being able to talk with them. This is my first time venturing into this process and I’m appreciative of all the help received.

My mom is surrounded by Angels! Danielle Kies has quickly become like one of our family. Her love, care, compassion, service goes far above what we expected. How many jobs does she take on???? SO MANY! Noreli, who helps mom with showers is a wonderful, loving, patient, accommodating young lady with a sweet soul. Mom was apprehensive about having someone help her with a shower, but immediately fell in love with her and now enjoys the time she spends with Noreli. Melissa, at the front desk, has show great patience with all my phone calls, questions, etc. Thank you! Omar and his co-worker (sorry I can't remember his name) have been so prompt, precise, helpful with things needed in mom's room. They;ve also helped with carrying things to mom's room and providing carts to carry her things on. They get things done so well and with such efficiency and patience and I am very thankful. Cynthia and her team have been so understanding, helpful, and patient with all my medical concerns and questions. They're a step ahead of me when it comes to what mom needs and alert me with anything I need to know about mom's medical care. Ava, who leads exerceses, among other things, has made mom enjoy exercise and become more active than she has in years! Brittany Tilson has been patient with me and shows grace with my mutiliple questions, sometime the same questions more than once. Her response to my e-mails have been prompt. Everyone at The Gardens works so well together. They don't have one job, they have NUMEROUS jobs and they do them well and with enthusiasm and care. Deanna Scalera answered so many of my questions and concerns and was very patient with me. Mom loved her Welcome Gift Basket. There are so many others that I have failed to call by name, but EVERYONE has been so kind to my mom and learned her name right away. They really have made her feel welcome from day one. God bless you all!

My mother has been a resident for approximatly 7 years in independent living. My mother and our family have seen changes and many of them for the good over the years. Within the last few years (about the time 5 Star took over) we have seen a decline. The vehicles they have to transport the residents are in poor shape, breaking down often and leaving the residents with limited use. They have had some wonderful staff in the past and many have left for similar facilities for better pay. Many positions stayed vacated or where filled in by other employees with different job descriptions. I do understand Covid played a part in this, now that restrictions have eased state wide, activities should have opened up also. They have now taken away more days to transport residence to doctor appointments. They have tightened the perimeter that they will transport residence. The activities have greatly declined compared to other like facilities in the area. Group activities are very unimaginative and infrequent. Its seems the only bus trips are to the grocery store. The Bistrow has cut the hours of operation to two days a week for lunch. At the dinning room they are so short staffed that you are no longer served at your table, but are dished in the fashion of a buffet line. House cleaning was done once a week in each unit, now that is done only every other week. They have a very nice indoor pool that is poorly utilized. They have water aerobics at an extra cost to residence. The current director did indicate she was lobbing to have coporate remove the extra fee. She also indicated she was sure to have the ok for new buses. That was several months ago. Nothing has changed to date. The bottom line is they always increase the monthly rent by 5% a year and seem to take more and more away from the elderly residence. Hope for an improvement for all the residence.

We moved my sister-in-law into AL from Independent living, and it was seamless. Smooth transition. She is very pleased and settled in quickly. All employees have been exceptional in care and demeanor. Thumbs up all the way!

Gardens of Gainesville is a wonderful Community! They have a very caring staff, delicious food, and great activities. The grounds and the building are both clean and beautiful. The marketing staff does an incredible job with families and is a wonderful help in navigating the best option. Annie is an absolute joy and does a phenomenal job with the residents. Ty always has the best plan for residents, works well with the families, and shows compassion and professionalism in her communication and work. Kathy and Martha throw terrific events for the residents and families. I always enjoy my time here!

Gardens of Gainesville is an exceptional place that I would be more than happy to have my family member! Their staff genuinely cares and goes out of their way to identify needs and find resources for them. They also provide support and education to families through groups as they know that transitioning effects the whole family. I have stopped in on different days of the week and at different times. Every time I have seen staff engaged with their residents and residents interacting and happy. It really shows how well they know each of their residents and how comfortable the residents are with the community and staff. I have participated in their Virtual Dementia Tour as well! It was amazing! Just another example of how much they are committed to educating staff, families and the community.

My mother lives here. She is very happy. They provide so many things for her to do to keep her active and involved on a daily basis. I can barely catch her home. The staff are wonderful. Problem areas are that there isn't enough parking and the internet provider that they have chosen is terrible. There is a door from the back parking lot that is very heavy and hard to open. It needs a automatic sensor or button for residents to be able to use for easier access. Overall, it is a wonderful place for an active senior person to live. I feel very secure in knowing my Mother is somewhere safe, clean, and happy.
