I moved my mom into The Phoenix at James Creek a few months before COVID. When visiting the facility, I was told by a gentleman in the parking lot who said his mom lives there that the food was one of the best things about the place. That was one of the main reasons I chose it, but unfortunately, that couldn't be further from the truth. The food is absolutely terrible. I wouldn't serve some of it to anyone. The kitchen seems to go through cooks constantly, and the meals look and taste like something thrown together with no care at all. I wish that I could post pictures so you can see for yourself what they are calling "lasagna" on the menu. It looks like it is missing marinara sauce and was filled with something that could pass for cat pate. You can't even tell that it is what it is. Do you serve corn and broccoli with lasagna? My mom sends me photos of her meals all the time, and it's heartbreaking. I've resorted to taking her grocery shopping so she can have something decent to eat. I genuinely feel sorry for the residents who don't have family nearby to help them. They actually have a meeting to hear complaints from the residents, and one of the top complaints is the food. It's a shame because the facility itself is clean and the staff are kind and caring. But the food situation is unacceptable -- and it's been this way for years now. If management doesn't fix the kitchen problem, it overshadows everything else that is good about the place.

The Phoenix @ James Creek is a fantastic facility for your loved ones. The staff show compassion, dignity and wonderful care for the residents. Without leaving a resident feeling as if they no longer have their independence the care staff encourages the resident to do the best they can in daily activities. The management team is always there to assist to the best of their ability. With an open door policy residents and staff are free to pop their heads in and ask for a moment of their time to discuss whatever is on their minds. The activities and events team try to accommodate each resident with a variety of activities such as exercise, brain games, bingo, arts and crafts along with music and live entertainment. The kitchen staff offer many choices and a variety of food for meals. Snacks are offered throughout the day if they need a pick me up.

I toured many places before settling on Phoenix at James Creek for my Mother, and she has settled in very nicely over the past few months. The staff are fantastic, they know the residents by name, actively interact with them, truly care about them, and when Mom hasn't been herself they call to let me know and keep me informed. Management is attentive to their needs, the rooms are kept clean and neat, and everyone is very friendly, always speak to us in the hallways. She likes the meal variety and loves to spend time outside and walking around the facility along with attending some of the many events. Her health has definitely improved and I feel she is getting great care there.

Victoria at The Phoenix at James Creek was very helpful. This is a whole new experience for me with many questions and challenges. Victoria spent a lot of time answering all of my questions about my dad's move as well as their community. We were shown five rooms and we were grateful that their team accommodated us for a weekend tour on very short notice. The Phoenix setting is beautiful, large hallways and I love the library! I recommend you definitely include The Phoenix as one of the locations of interest when researching assisted living for your loved one. It is a top-notch community.

I've researched many facilities in the North Georgia area for my mother. Victoria Kelly and the rest of the staff at The Phoenix at James Creek are 100% committed to making sure the residents and their families are taken care of with exquisite care and upfront communication regarding all aspects of daily life. Victoria has been on top of everything in communicating to myself and my brother about what is required and what will be provided. Brenda the Med Tech is awesome! she really helped my mom on her first night. This was a huge move for someone who has lost a husband and two children, and these types of moves can be traumatic. Everyone, and I mean everyone at The Phoenix at James Creek goes out of their way to make all the residents feel appreciated and part of a larger family. I can't think of anywhere else I would feel comfortable assisting with my mother.

The staff at the Phoenix at James Creek, especially Victoria Kelly, Community Engagement Director, were kind, compassionate and extremely helpful, masterfully guiding our family through a process that can be arduous and difficult. Their team was patient and understanding with all of our many questions and concerns. We are so looking forward to having our loved one settle in and receive the top notch quality care that has been promised. The staff, physical plant and amenities all seem to be of the highest quality.

Victoria, the CED, went above and beyond to help us through a difficult situation and get my grandfather get settled into memory care. Since then, we have met some of the most caring and loving RCA's! Sadly, the low star review is due to management. The Executive Director has extremely poor communication with family's and employees. It completely negatively impacts the whole facility.

I moved my Mom in a little over 2 years ago, not long before covid. I stopped a guy leaving in the parking lot and ask him his opinion on the facility. He gave The Phoenix a glowing review and said the best thing about The Phoenix was the food! That's one of the bigger challenges for me in finding my Mom a good place to live, & his review was spot on! Mom enjoyed living at The Phoenix for a few months prior to covid, and the food was wonderful! Covid seemed to be a challange to keep help, and the quality of the food really got bad. I take my Mom to the grocery store weekly now to get food for her to eat. I never know how many meals she will need to fix for herself. She texts me 5 to 8 times a week with pictures of what they have to eat & I feel for the folks that don't have someone to provide an alternative for them to eat. Other than the food, The Phoenix is a nice place for your loved one. The staff are loving and caring people.

Just moved my family member here. The facility is absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully appointed! Upon entering the building you receive a hardy hello from everyone you see. The staff is friendly and seemingly caring. The Executive Director is present and involved. The nursing staff seems very astute.

I love that Phoenix at James Creek helps the community! In the last few months donating to the Alzheimers Association, Food Bank and Humane Society are just a few. These efforts give all of the residents a sense of purpose. A beautiful thing.

The Phoenix of James Creek hosted the Right at Home owners of Georgia meeting yesterday in their beautiful meeting room. They provided a delicious continental breakfast and lunch. If you are looking for an up to date, beautiful space to have a meeting or conference, I highly recommend this spot! Also, if you are looking for a senior living option for a loved one, this community is a must see. Thank you Phoenix of James Creek!
