Reviews Oaks at Shiloh Point
February 2024
My mom has been living at The Oaks since November. She is safe and she is cared for….wait, she is more than cared for, she is LOVED by the entire staff. The best review I can give is to say, I sleep well at night knowing she is there.
November 2023
I am an independent contractor Senior Care Provider. I visit clients at home and in assisted living facilities. I have seen first hand the dedication that Oaks at Shilo Point put into providing the best care for its clients. The staff are very caring and hard working. It is a busy place with lots of organized activities and volunteers participating with the residents. The facility is well run and kept very clean and organized. Hats off to the staff, from maintenance, care staff, cooks and management
March 2023
The Oaks at Shiloh Point is a home away from home for my mother. She has been living there for seven weeks and is very happy. She has made new friends and is enjoying the activities, outings and parties. The director, Nicholas Bridges, genuinely cares about the residents. He is open to any comments or suggestions and always makes sure the staff is taking good care of everyone. Chef Steven feeds everyone three gourmet meals each day. He makes sure they are well fed and is always asking for their input. Laura and the numerous Medtechs are prompt and accurate with the delivery of the medicines. She is always willing to answer any questions or concerns. The caregivers are kind and caring. They treat her as they would treat their own mother. I can't say enough good things about the Oaks at Shiloh Point. I would highly recommend it.
November 2022
My mother is 89 and in memory care . Her care has been fabulous. It is challenging to experience the issues that come with aging but the Oaks staff has helped me through these times .
November 2022
The Oaks at Shiloh Point was a great place for my dad to be for about 9 months. They took very good care of him and made sure he was in a safe, secure place.
November 2022
We were in a really tough situation with my mom and needed help quickly and with some compassion. We got both and we are so grateful!! Nicholas, the Director, is a breath of fresh air and helped get my mom get in and get comfortable without going directly to memory care. This took a little extra work but they were up to the task. She is so happy and speaks about him all the time in a great way!! Everyone else has also been so helpful especially Michelle the Social Director and Julie the Assistant Administrator. I recommend The Oaks at Shiloh to anyone I can now.
October 2022
I had the pleasure of being the Lead Occupational Therapist at Shiloh Point. The new management team is absolutely awesome! Nicholas is so genuine, caring, enthusiastic, fun and has a huge heart for the seniors. The team is so dedicated; all of them are in the building at all hours and days of the week! The building has come ALIVE with new furniture and programs to enhance the quality of the lives they serve. A great place to be.
September 2022
My 90 year old mother was very fragile when she moved to the Oaks at Shiloh Point. She was almost immobile and The staff was willing to take care of my mom and help her rebuild her strength..I am so thankful my sister found the Oaks at Shiloh Point. I am grateful to the loving staff like Chef Mo & Chef Steven who really care about what the residents want to eat. Laura and Rainey the nurses that take the time to know each resident personally. Mccayla the activity director works hard to find engaging activities for the residents. Stephanie's warmth and welcoming heart help new residents and their families transition into the Oaks at Shiloh point community. Nicholas the lead director is very hands on and also has a loving approach to the residents, their families and the staff. You can tell the staff is a cohesive team that does their job with love and purpose! Thank you!
September 2022
I was trying to find a facility that would provide short term respite care (10 to 14 days in length) for my 97 year old mother. I contacted eleven different senior care facilities in my area and none of them said they offered that service. Then, I called the Oaks at Shiloh Point and they asked me to come visit them as they felt they could help. I sat down with Nicholas Bridges, Executive Director and Stephanie Tanner, Community Relations Director to discuss what I was looking for. I'm my mother's fulltime caregiver, but wanted to find a way to have some time off. Nicholas indicated that normally, they take in non-residents for convalescence only, and those visits usually last 30 or more days. They hadn't done any short term respite care, but thought it would be good idea to give it a try. Nicholas said other people might also be interested in this type of service so he agreed to let my mom stay with them while I took a break. It worked out very well. It was affordable, Mom had a great time because she got out of the house, met some very nice people, and ate much better than she does at home with me. And... I had a chance to relax, catch up on some chores around the house, and even went camping for several days. It was wonderful!! If any caregivers are looking for a way to take a break and have some time to themselves, I highly recommend the new short term respite care offering from Oaks at Shiloh point.
May 2022
Shiloh Point is a facility where the care of your loved one is their priority. The administration and staff are so caring and attentive. A very special community!
March 2022
My Mom has been at the Oaks at Shiloh Point about 5 months. There have been many changes in the management staff. The new energy is amazing. She is getting much more attention from additional caregivers that have been recently hired. The entertainment and activities are great and the caring staff encourage participation. Mom enjoys the quality of life she has at the Oaks and I trust she is in good hands when I'm not there.
January 2022
Very happy with the Oaks at Shiloh Point. Nicholas and his staff have been amazing during the difficult transition of my parents to assisted living and memory care. The facility is very homey and welcoming, too. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.
December 2020
When I had to leave town because of a death in the family, I called the Gardens of Shiloh Point for my husband who had been there for activities and was on the waiting list. The Director, Lisa, could not have been more accommodating. He came in on the Respite plan, but we felt he would be staying there long term. Lisa took care of getting the room set up for him and he moved in a few days later. He has now been there 7 months and seems to be adjusting. He enjoys participating in some of the activities, especially Bingo. The staff is very friendly and always there to answer any questions I might have. He has also come a long way with the PT he is getting. Its like you are family there and I definitely feel part of the family as well.

Awesome place to visited from the time you walk in and walk out. Everyone is nice especially the staff
July 2020
I value the approachability of your staff, and thorough attentiveness to the residents. They are cared for like family, and it is apparent the staff know and love the residents. That same compassion for people shows up in all types of gatherings and activities, which are well-attended by family members, whether informal socials in the afternoons or special events throughout the year.
June 2020
Ada and her staff are very good with all the residents. They really care about all the families.Bill
March 2020
As the daughter of resident who has early-onset Alzheimers, having my mom move into The Gardens last year was an incredibly emotional time. After all, I am the daughter, shouldnt I be taking care of her? How could total strangers care for my mom the way that I would? Im here 10 months later, to say thru happy tears that I do not believe I could create 1, 2 the wonderful environment (although I would try mightily), that has been created for & around my mom on a daily basis. From the activities, to the attention to detail surrounding her medication, her wonderful time socializing with friends, entertaining singers and visitors that bring her new life experiences, her devotional time, as well as trying to comfort her in the evening when she may be more confused than usual, Ive felt top to bottom that this staff truly CARES about my mom & her quality of life. There have been numerous times that I have needed their extra help & they have been incredibly accessible no matter the time of day or night. You might be surprised how much it could devastate your loved one if they simply misplace the remote control or cant figure out how to plug in their phone, or seem to have lost something that they use on a daily basis. From the very first week my mom moved in until now, the medical and front office staff have called me by name, knew exactly what was on my moms agenda, & often helped me ready her for medical appts or procedures (fasting, timing, paperwork printed) seamlessly so that I didnt need to spend the night prior with her to make sure she was ready. Perhaps more impressive about this particular staff, is the way in which they have created a culture of all hands on deck, while having fun along the way- you can absolutely tell they love what they do, and even though our beloved Lisa who was the original Director, has moved on, we are excited that they chose to stay in-house and promote Ada- we feel equally great about her & her ability to deliver the best care & culture possible, while also listening to our concerns & making all of the residents @ the Gardens feel valued & loved.

When looking for an assisted living place for my uncle, his criteria was that it was not a huge facility, it was cozy, had things planned to do daily and that he would get the care he needed. After looking at many places, my uncle Sean found what he was looking for at the Gardens of Shiloh Point. Sean has been a resident there just over 2 years. He feels at home and it gives his family such peace of mind. The staff is amazing! They are so attentive, kind, loving and professional. They treat every resident like they are family. Were able to join in any activity when we visit (which is a few times a week) and we have fun too! Cindy, the Lifestyle 360 Director, is fantastic! The place lights up when Cindy enters the building. Her passion is getting the residents out and about and enjoying their time. The whole 360 plan is overseen by her and it includes Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Social and Intellectual stimulation every day, 7 days a week. And there is always reason to have a party! Theres at least one party a month! What is also very touching (and telling) is that the staff members spouses and children regularly come in to help out, visit and play. It is one big extended family. And if you bring your pet in when you visit, you will make their day! The overall community (local churches, schools, musicians, neighbors) regularly stop in and do their thing. My uncles favorite things is feeding the birds, enjoying the two outdoor gardens, helping out where he can (need your plants watered? hes on it), singing for the residents and playing games. I give Gardens of Shiloh Point my highest recommendation.
March 2020
As a private duty sitter, I see a very loving and caring staff.
January 2020
Shiloh is not a large facility physically, but it is large in heart, which is the most important thing when caring for our aging family members. Ada, Valerie, Tara and the entire Shiloh staff go out of their way to provide a safe and loving environment for the residents.
January 2020
I cant say enough great things. They have such amazing staff. I come in every day for hospice at different times and everyone is so friendly. The residents are always taking such great wonderful care of.
December 2019
My Mom has lived at Gardens of Shiloh Point for the past year and our experience has been wonderful. Everyone from the staff to the residents have been warm and welcoming. The staff is not just competent but compassionate as well and is led by example by a great leadership team. We were fortunate to have found this place. My Mom loves it here! From the moment we step inside we knew it was going to be a great experience and we have not been disappointed.
August 2019
I cant say enough how much I appreciate these people! My mother has been a resident for four years and can be difficult at times. They never give up trying and truly care. Great job Lisa and staff. Thank you from the bottom of my !
August 2019
I was a volunteer at Gardens of Shiloh Point for a couple years, coming under the leadership of Lisa Miner, when she was activities director. My experience at this facility was life changing. I grew to love the community, the residents, staff and family members. It was more than an assisted living community, it felt like family. Im not in a position to have a family member at the community but when and if I should, Gardens of Shiloh Point would be the first place I go to. I saw love, care and compassion for the residents. It made it easy for me to do the same from a volunteer perspective.
July 2019
After having tried 6 other assisted liviving communities (1 was $7,300, month!) my family was fortunate enough to find Gardens. This staff is amazing!!! They dont just give lip service, they deliver quality of life every day. I drop by regularly and find the staff always attentive, caring, and helpful. Also, they are transparent- when things go wrong (something will inevitably go wrong at some point), they call, give me facts, assessments, and solutions. We all want to know that were leaving our most precious loved ones in a safe, clean, and loving environment- Gardens is that place. Ms. Lisa, Ada, Tara, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond EVERY day. God bless them all.
April 2019
My mother just recently moved into the memory care section at The Gardens of Shiloh Point. My husband and I wanted so badly to care for her when she moved to Georgia in July but we quickly realized we would not be able to provide all of the care she needed. Everyone has been so great. The staff has a very caring attitude and it feels more like a family environment which was so important to us when looking for the right place. Mom is adjusting really well and she loves it there. We are at peace knowing she is really home now and where God has intended her to be.
March 2019
My ninety-two year old aunt was reluctant to give up her independence when it became obvious that it was time. The Gardens of Shiloh Point has exceeded our and her expectations. The staff members are caring, compassionate, competent, enthusiastic, and loving. There is an activity calendar that keeps her active, interested, and happy. She is happier there than we ever expected. I would recommend this facility without any hesitation.
March 2019
Gardens of Shiloh is amazing! Ive volunteered at this community for a few years. I help decorate at Christmas, help with events and spend time with residents. The staff, residents and facility are simply wonderful. Facility is always clean welcoming and everyone is friendly. If my mom lived in Georgia I would have her in the care of this loving team.
August 2018
The staff at Gardens of Shiloh Point take amazing care of my father. He LOVES it there. The executive director is the best Ive ever met. I would recommend Gardens to any one considering working or living there.
May 2018
The Gardens at Shiloh Point ranks as the top facility of its kind that I have ever been in. The staff is gracious, kind, and helpful in every circumstance. Everyone always has a smile on their face. The quality of care for the residents is extraordinary. The environment is open, spacious, well-lighted and always clean. I would recommend the Gardens at Shiloh Point to anyone.
March 2018
My mother was a resident in the memory care area for 18 months until she passed away at the age of 93. After a horrific experience at a different facility, we instantly felt the warmth and expertise of the staff at Shiloh. Everyone in the building - on all shifts, including clerical staff - were kind and caring and knew each resident by name. My mother was more social and engaged than she had been in years. Even with advanced Alzheimers, she remarked that she felt safe. And she was. She had a series of strokes - During one episode, in addition to nursing staff, the building engineer, who had paramedic experience, sat with her, well after his shift had ended, until the ambulance arrived. Finally, following a more debilitating stroke, the hospital said a nursing home would probably have to replace Shiloh. Not so - The Shiloh nursing director came to the hospital to arrange for her transfer back, saying, Shes family and shes coming home. We owe a debt of gratitude to these people. I stay in touch, as they feel like my family, too.

Most loving atmosphere I have seen in assisted living. Most grateful!

My father has been at Dogwood Forest for about 1.5 years and he loves it there. He is always commenting about how good they treat him there. He was in the hospital for about 10 days this past May and he couldnt wait to get back to his home.
March 2017
Dogwood Forest of Cumming is a huge blessing to my family. My Mom and Dad have been residents since February 2016. They are happier and healthier than they have been in years. Dogwood provides outstanding services across the board. Everyone from the Directors, Med Techs, CNAS, meals, housekeeping, laundry service, to the hair salon give so much more than just their skills. They give so much love. Everyone is always smiling and so willing to help in any way possible. Dogwood Forest of Cumming is truly an answer to prayer.
January 2017
The staff at Dogwood Forest are awesome. Every member that we work with is incredible and shows great attention to the residents. We could not have found a better place for mom. She absolutely loves it there! Highly recommend.
