My mom has been a resident in the nursing home at Presbyterian Village for over two years. She is 98 and has several health issues that require special care. Whenever I have questions or concerns, the staff members are attentive and caring. She was an executive secretary for many years; sometimes she can be a handful. She still has a positive outlook and her sense of humor has not waned. Many of the staff members call her, "Nana" or "Grandma," and the spouse of a resident nicknamed her "Mayor." Making the transition from caring for an elderly parent in our home to needing professional nursing care is not an easy thing, especially navigating Medicaid. I felt like several members of the staff held my hand as I made tough decisions and applied for Medicaid. Several parents of staff members reside in the nursing home; they would not have their parents living in the nursing home if the care was sub-par. I find the staff to be kind, conscientious and knowledgeable. My mom is kind of a loner, but she made friends; this was an answer to prayer for me. If I had to make this decision again, I would not hesitate to seek care at this facility. I highly recommend Presbyterian Village!

I have moderate dementia and although this was explained upon application I was never offered any treatment. DURI G MY 2nd a d 3rd month here I forgot and paid my rent out of the wrote Che k book. Their office in another did not tell me but kept redepositing the checks. Because they never cleared. Y records showed I was 2 months behind ìn my rent. Although my correct bank account showed a high balance, My mind was happy I was saving money. It was not u til about 8 or 9 o e morning this office woman with this man banged on my door and insisted I get my daughter on the phone. Not knowing why, I refused. The woman finally said I was 2 months behind in rent. I knew she was lying because I remember mailing. ....I may have early dementia but I remember paying it. After over an hour if badgering me they left. After talking to my bank, I realized I had paid Presbyterian Village From my old check book. I called my daughter when they left and we mailed the 2 missed checks. I am certain this office woman is undercover racist. She my try to disguise it but she admitted she.never busted in a other tenant's apartment. ,

At the end of April I moved my mom to Hearthstone, the memory care unit at Presbyterian Village. Our experience (hers and mine) has been wonderful. We love the staff and she enjoys walking in the beautiful, secure garden area and talking to the finches that reside in the unit. I am thankful every day for PV!

My father and mother in law have both been a residence of Presbyterian Village for years.. I have never witnessed any thing I have read in the negative reviews. My mother in law loves this place and enjoys everyone there. I have an aunt who has told me when the time comes she would love to live there. I did notice all of the negative reviews came from people with the same last names.

If this is considered one of the nicer nursing homes (and more expensive) then I feel bad for the elderly. It looks great on the outside staff is nice however I used to be a CNA and it's not an easy job and they don't pay that well either. It literally is like a looney bin for elderly. I don't know for the amount of money people pay, the staff should be paid more... the treatment should be better... but again I couldn't be a CNA because I know what happens when families or bosses aren't around.

I am Stunned by the negative reviews! My father was in Hearthstone for many years, my mother was in an independent living house and is currently in assisted living on the 3rd floor, so we have experienced all aspects of PV. The caregivers are loving, considerate and kind. The administrative staff has done an extraordinary job during Covid. I am extremely grateful that my parents were able to spend their waning years in such a clean, pleasant environment.

It is not customary for me to give out 5s but my experience with Presbyterian Village over the last 20 years deserves a solid 5. My mother and I worked as registered nurses for 50 years so our assessment of the care and caring we have experienced is filtered through critical eyes. Mother lived 15 years at the Village and utilized all levels of care. From Independently living in an apartment to supportive care to her last years in the nursing home she received excellent care and caring. She was so happy and cared for that my father and step mother moved here and again experienced the same excellence. I have lived here for seven years and consistently continue to experience staff who truly go above and beyond in their care and caring for each of us. Yes they earn 5 stars!

This place was a Godsend to me and my family. My Mom, Miss Vicki, was in Memory Care and had Alzheimers. The compassionate and loving care they gave my Mom was a wonderful blessing. The staff was creative and patient in helping Mom with day to day activities and I was well informed right away of any changes in her status. From the caregivers to administrative staff, they care deeply for their residents and treat them with the utmost respect and dignity. Nothing but top quality service here. My heartfelt thanks to those at Presbyterian Village that walked alongside us on this journey

This nursing home is cleaner than others Ive visited. There is a bit of a communication barrier between nurse and patient depending on where the nurses are from. Nonetheless, patient care is just fine.

I have to say Im really surprised by the negative review. In my experience over the course of the last 3 years of visiting Presbyterian Village residents, several times a year, the staff have been exceptionally professional and friendly, patient, attentive and refreshingly cheerful. Every single one of the 10-12 residents I know there, whether in independent living or supportive living, truly loves it. Many say they wish they had moved there sooner. Aging in place is truly an option there.

The Presbyterian Village Austell has Independent Living Cottages and Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Hearthstone Memory Care and a dedicated Nursing Home, as well as an extensive Wellness Center. The staff and residents are simply wonderful. We visited several of the local Independent Living options and found PVA to be by far the best choice for my mother with advanced macular degeneration.
