As usual, the check-in desk personnel were pleasant...I enjoy them. I noticed the drive in was better today, as some of the potholes have been repaired for the time being. I just hope that the Residents' Dining Room will soon be back up and running. My cousin never came down for all meals...but he did go down for some. He was just starting to meet some people...now until that issue is solved...his socialization has been severely curtailed...and this particular challenge has been going on since IAN...he's only been a resident since August. Unfortunately, I cannot be there regularly, more than once a week, as I have also have demands on my time that I cannot neglect. The POTHOLES were a very good start, though!

My Mother and I visited Spring Haven in September looking for a place for mom to move to. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the apparent satisfaction of the residents. We had a lunch tour and mom really enjoyed the food. We are looking forward to mom moving in soon. I would love to give them five stars once Mom moves in and is able to thoroughly enjoy the facilities.

I was positively impressed with the staff at SH. That worked well under pressure through Hurricane Ian, keeping the safety and best interests of the residents in mind. If I were to change anything, it would involve the age and condition of the building. Thank you for providing a comfortable and safe place for my parents to live and receive care.

My mom has been living in springhaven for a few years now , in independent living apt . Very nice, great view of beautiful lake . Faculty , is always friendly , and helpful . My mom is happy there . No complaints . Thank you

My sister and I took a lunch tour of the Memory Unit at Spring Lake. The setting on the lake with the pool and hot tub were very nice. Some residents even have families that take them on boat rides on the lake. Food was delicious and upscale not the typical institutional food served. Totally unexpected but the best part of the tour was visiting the Memory Care Unit. The large staff in the unit are amazing. We could not believe that there was a cap of 30 residents allowing so much individual attention. Activities were appropriate and residents were busy participating in them both inside and outside. The staff is bubbly and love their jobs. It is a very happy environment. Unbelievable, actually. We have visited other Memory Units in the area with a much smaller staff, unpleasant odors and large numbers of sad looking patients in a large room, unengaged, just sitting and staring while an aid stands in the corner watching over them with her arms folded. This is totally opposite to what you will find at the Memory Unit at Spring Haven. Residents are loved and thrive. Even though the building is a little older, the caring staff, delicious food, pretty location, reasonable prices and well-run programs make it a great place.

“Becareful about putting your money up for a place at spring haven. they will give you a date that your loved one can move in then another and another then 3 or 4 more days but if something comes up and your loved one can not move they will not give you your money back. Even when the doctor sends a note stating they can not move in.. This is poor business and cheating people out of their money. So do not put money up first unless you know for sure they will be able to move in when they ever get the room ready. in the mean time they are eating up your money and no room ready yet they defaulted and they need to give the customers their money back.”

I would like to recognize our Independent Life Enrichment Coordinator Martie Cahill. Martie always goes above and beyond to help us learn new things to do to occupy our time. Also if we need anything she is always available and stops to help you whatever the situation. She is someone who really cares about the residents as if they were her family.. You don't always find someone as caring and has such a big heart as Martie does.

As a longterm employee I'm grateful for each day that I can help a resident and to hear a Thank you, is so gratifying to me. You sometimes are their only contact in a day and to make them happy or smile , it means more than words. Getting a card or a phone call from a family member to say Thank you for all you do. Spring Haven Retirement has wonderful staff members. I've had the pleasure in meeting Nicky Jean-Baptiste, who is very efficient in his work ethics. The quality of care he provides for his patients is superb. His positive attitude and energy is very contagious. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone!!

Spring Haven Retirement is a wonderful place for my Mom! I feel very fortunate that she was able to move in here! The building could be nicer, but thankfully they are doing some renovations to improve it. The quality of care she's getting is definitely the most important thing to me. Katrina Overstreet, LPN, the Memory Care Program Manager is incredible! She goes above and beyond for the residents. My family and I cannot praise her enough! If you are looking for a quality Memory Care Unit to put your loved one in, I definitely recommend that you visit this one and meet Katrina!
