During my families difficult decision to have my dad placed in memory care, I could not be more pleased with the entire staff at Brookdale, St. Augustine. They helped me with what I thought would be a terrible transition for my dad and made it work out very well and they said they would be there to help him with adapting. They did! Comments pertain to a memory care resident: The facility is competent, but we find inconsistent staffing, with a lot of "agency" temps used for routine staffing needs. Memory care is dull, with few activities to combat boredom and add interest to life. Food isaverage.Itt's an okay place, but room to improve.

5 STAR community! Brookdale St. Augustine is a wonderful assisted living community! From the moment you arrive you feel a sense of home - the gardens, porches and the rocking chairs filled with residents, family and friends enjoying the grounds and the friendships they have made. As you walk in the front door you are welcomed by an inviting gathering area and the smiling faces of both the staff and the community residents. The staff and leadership are so kind and truly dedicated to their residents. You can tell they really care.

My older sister had been in two previous facilities before I moved her to Brookdale in St. Augustine, FL. I highly recommend Brookdale Senior Living. Jennifer Hill, the Sales Manager, and Leah Randall, the Executive Director, were OUTSTANDING, as was their entire staff. All of the employees actually seemed sincere and dedicated to their jobs. Sadly, my sister passed away unexpectedly after less than two weeks at Brookdale. The compassion and sympathy was heartfelt. The facility was clean, organized, and operated like clockwork.

Brookdale is an amazing facility. They take very good care of their residents. They have excellent communication with us providers. During COVID they took extra precautions to ensure staff and residents were taken care of. I see patients at multiple facilities and Brookdale is on the top of my list in St. Augustine.

Brookdale St Augustine rescued my 89-year-old mom. Its true! My mom had to stop driving last year and she lost her will to stay active. We tried placing her in Adult Daycare...that didnt work. My mom has always been fiercely independent. Then my mom fell down in my home at 2am and ended up in the hospital...all of us children decided we needed help.We checked out various assisted living facilities in multiple locations in FL and CT. Brookdale St Augustine seemed like a good fit.I remember walking in their front door last year totally unannounced, and being so impressed with how the front office staff handled me with no advanced warning. I could chat for a long time about all the well-trained, friendly and dedicated staff...my mom now considers them family. The facility is just the right size...its homey, but has plenty of room for activities, events or personal space. Brookdale St Augustine has an impressive working relationship with the local medical teams and facilities...and its comforting to know that they will move quickly to treat my mom in any emergency. I am also absolutely impressed with the pricing...Brookdale St Augustine is a great value. The services they provide...for the price they charge seems more than fair. My mom thinks she is living in a resort! My mom is comfortable there. She knows she is safe. She is active again and has developed strong friendships with other residents and the staff. Its amazing how much more mentally alert and physically active my mom is now, as oppose to when she first moved into Brookdale St Augustine a year ago. Although I have only worked at St. Augustine since July 2020, I have worked for brookdale senior living for the past 4 years, even in my short amount of time in this community, I see how much the staff and leadership team truly care about the residents and families they serve. Having worked in this facility for 8 years I can say most emphatically that it is a decent building with decent employees who care about the residents. There will always be Company restrictions that employees can not change, budgets that should be met but not at the expense of a resident.There are those who believe they always come 1st, in assisted living , Its assisted living we can not nor should not do everything for you! Be as independent as you can be for as long as you can be means priority is given to those in immediate need. No call for assistance is taken lightly, if for example you should call for bathroom assistance while a resident has fallen or another emergency has occurred then ur need is less, an aide will get to you.If the service you pay for is refused it is still chargeable, service was offered you refused.Many family members believe we can restrict their loved one from leaving the property, not so says the state of Florida. If a resident is on the A. L. side we cannot restrict your comings-goings. Memory care is another issue.Frequent the chef meetings get what you ask for on the menu, go to activities enjoy your time.So many do not take advantage of what is available and complain of being bored, it is your choice so I sincerely hope you will get up get out be involved in your community!!!!

my name is Lisa Vaughan and I am the Resident Program Coordinator, and I have worked in this building for 16 years and this is the first time that a hurricane has been this bad. I just have to say that we have some awesome employees they stepped up to the plate at an extremely stressful time. Giving of themselves to help others when they have families of their own that are in the same need, that my friends is true dedication and it shows that their heart is in the right place to come in every day and take care of their second family, the residence at Brookdale Saint Augustine are lucky to have them. Our administrator Katrina Williams and Brookdale itself stepped up to the plate to take care of their own employees that make Brookdale a success, they have taken in their employees and families that have been missed placed because of hurricane Matthew they have given us shelter, food and compassion for the situation at hand. I personally would like to say, thank you for taking care of me and my family's needs, you have opened your arms to my loved ones and it is Greatly Appreciated!!! ?

My mom Harriet lived at Brookdale for two years. She recently passed away but the time she spent at Brookdale was very happy for her.
