Reviews The Reserve at Citrus
July 2026
I like the activities at Reserve of Citrus. The location and room space is helpful to my Mother. The staff is very welcoming and she is enjoying daily living. Thank you to the staff and residents making my Mom and our family's life so rewarding.
July 2026
MY MOTHER IS DOING GREAT AT RESERVE OF CITRUS. THE STAFF ARE CARING, THE ACTIVITIES ARE ENGAGING AND SHE IS THRIVING THERE. WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.
March 2026
My Mother in Law was a resident for about a year in memory care. Excellent service- she was well cared for- very attentive staff . Very clean room and staff was on top of all her needs. I highly recommend The Reserve for elder care needs.
February 2026
My mom was a resident at the Reserve at Citrus for the last 18 months of her life. We chose this residence because it was a family-like environment and the facility was easy to navigate for my mom. Everything is on one floor and easy to find. I have been volunteering as a Zumba instructor for the past 4 years. The facility has gone through many changes but I think the changes in the leadership of the facility have been very positive. The staff has been consistent at the facility for years and they are very special people. The activity director, food service director and the and memory ward director could not be more loving and caring. The aides, nurses and staff are wonderful. The leadership team has made the facility much more customer centric than in the past. This phase of life can be a big challenge for residents and if I had to choose a place for my mom again, I would not hesitate to choose the Reserve at Citrus.
February 2026
When our mother was first admitted to the assisted living program we found her care to be very good . Her condition deteriorated and she was admitted to the memory care program. We cannot say enough good about the memory care director. She tried her best to give all the clients the very best care she could. Then The Reserve changed hands and we found that mom’s care went downhill. When we visited we found that the facility wasn’t as clean . Mom’s bathroom wasn’t cleaned regularly. We even met with the director, Ms Mohammed to express our concerns about this. We seldom saw any cleaning staff working when we visited. Also we reported to the director That mom had bruise marks left on her arm left by a staff member. We were told That he had been let go. I cannot in clear consciences give The Reserve At Citrus a good review
February 2026
My mother loved living at The Reserve and really thrived there. All the staff were so kind and compassionate. Administrative staff were very helpful and professional. Our family had absolutely no concerns for my mother's care while was there.

Our sister Donna is very happy there it took her some time to adjust. The reserve does alot of good things for there residents.

The Caring staff members made my Mom’s last few weeks a lot easier to bear.
February 2026
It’s been three years since my mom passed. I find it very distasteful that I am receiving an invitation to leave a review when the facility should know that she passed in 2023. I commend the med techs who cared for my mom, as well as the director of the memory care unit. I do not recommend this facility based on the research I did on the company who owns it. They are strictly concerned about how much they can make off a resident. No one did anything when my mom fell on numerous occasions and they did not follow hospice orders to not give her solid food and she almost choked to death. Like most facilities, they are shortstaffed with too many residents and not enough caregivers.
February 2026
The staff is great in the memory care. They are so caring and very over worked. There should be more staff in the unit
February 2026
I can’t say enough good things about The Reserve at Citrus. They took excellent care of my father and he loved being there. The staff is warm and welcoming and the facility neat and always clean. The food is fabulous too! I would encourage anyone needing their type of service to check them out.
February 2026
The Reserve has a very caring staff and an excellent dining room.. Restaurant quality food. Excellent!!
February 2026
We were totally satisfied with the care, our family member received at the Reserve. Because of it’s convenient location, our family members were able to visit every day. We spent a lot of time in the facility during all parts of the day. We saw for ourselves that he received kind and professional attention. The building was well maintained with private rooms and tastefully decorated common areas. Residents could sit outside as well as in screened porches. Activities were held not only in the day as with most care facilities, but also after dinner. Meals are served with a menu, restaurant style, and we were always welcomed to join the meal for free. Medical care was arranged, and there’s even a salon for haircuts. If we had to do it again, we would choose the Reserve

My brother, Patrick, was a resident at The Reserve at Citrus Springs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

My sister is a resident there for over a year now. Our family is very happy with the care she gets there. All the staff i've come in contact with, have been very helpful. And i can tell they enjoy what they do. Activity department is wonderful also doing something always with the residents. Mark from the kitchen goes above and beyond for the residents and there familys during the holidays or anytime for that matter. We are blessed to have our siter there. She has met many new friends there, and so has our family. I highly recommend this facility for your loved one.

I visited a friend there recently. The Lobby smelled of Urine and my friend sleeps in the Lobby every nite because her room is too cold and they told her it could not be fixed. Front desk was very helpful, when you can find someone there; therefore - low security.

The Reserve at Citrus took special care of my mom in memory care. I appreciate the dedication to make sure she was cared for and loved. I also appreciate the open communication and updates on her well being. Thank you.

Mom has been there for sometime now and for the most part she loves it there. The staff are great with meeting her needs. They have in-house medical and therapy for the residents. Different activities daily to keep everyone occupied. They recently remodeled and the place looks great. Had some hiccups when Inspirit took over but nothing that couldn’t be worked out with the administration.

Great place. My dad loves the meals and his nurses. I appreciate what they do for my loved one.
November 2024
Whether you or your loved one needs residential care or memory care, The Reserve at Citrus is THE place to be. My mom is in the Memory Care Unit there. Not only are her physical needs always met, but she is treated with great kindness and intentionality. She is valued and That is a huge blessing. The variety of activities that are offered truly keep the residents engaged. Whether it’s Chair Zumba, Ice Cream Sundae Bars, Bingo, Baseball Cornhole, other games, karaoke/Music, Picnics on the Premises with a Live Musician, Monthly Lunch outings via the Facility’s Van, the availability of the Hair Salon and SO many other Resources available, you will Not be disappointed. The Staff is trained, educated and genuinely cares about each resident. I highly recommend The Reserve at Citrus.

In general, staff and facility is excellent. Night staff could do with a dose of common sense.

.We lost Dad 20 years ago this coming February. Mom was able to keep up with our family home and lived a very independent life as a widow. Going to church every Sunday, luncheons with friends, visits with her grandchildren and welcoming all our her great grandchildren. But as time when on she started to get lost when out driving and her memory started to wane. We tried for 6 years to keep her independent in her home. This become a daunting task and her life became lonely as her dementia progressed. Even as a nurse myself, I was in over my head trying to balance her needs with my families. We lasted 6 years. She had 6 years in her home she loved but the time came to find a place for her and people to take care of her beyond how my husband, brother and I could provide. We were moving to Florida permanently and had to bring mom from NY to Florida. It was a daunting task but the facilities we found in Florida were by far a better choice for Mom and Us. We walked into the Reserve at Citrus and never looked back. It had a warm family like atmosphere that fit moms down to earth way of living. Kindness and Patience and Love are just a few of the words I’d use to describe the staff at the Reserve at Citrus in Lecanto. Mom’s adjustment was rough, but they never gave up. They helped us understand how to navigate and process the emotions that mom was going through and we were going through. Everyone’s needs are different. The reserve at Citrus fit all of ours. I’d fully recommend the Reserve and support all their staff. They are truly angels. I thank them for all they do. Sincerely Nancy Susi and all our family

great place. kind loving staff. always clean, no urine smell, and very clean. food is good. staff is very helpful.
November 2024
My mother-n-law is a resident there and I have been very disappointed in the cleanliness or lack of at the facility. They do not clean it very well and when they clean, it is only surface cleaning. They recently had an outbreak of scabies and did not notify anyone until it was already spreading very fast. They tried to minimize it and didn’t even have a sign up to notify people who entered the facility. The director told us that there was only 3 cases confirmed but the employees said there was so many more that have it but they didn’t test them. Of course not because they didn’t want it to hurt their business. Now we have it and have had to quarantine, treat ourselves and our home, and miss work. We were also cheese $50 for storm prep and not sure why. Wouldn’t you think that the amount of money we pay each month to have her there would take care of that. They need someone there who truly cares about the residents because obviously the one there does not. I well give a shot it to Kaylie who is at the front desk. She has been kind, caring, and a huge help from the day we moved Mama in.

Love the staff on the memory care unit.
November 2024
The folks at the Reserve took exceptional care of my father. Even though he lived in the same house for nearly 50 years prior to coming to the Reserve they did an excellent job of helping him to adjust and except his new home. Our heart felt thanks to each and every one of the folks who helped take care of him.
November 2024
Poorly managed. People tell you they will do things then don’t. A recent outbreak was handled very poorly and is still persisting. The receptionist, Kaylee, gets 5 stars. She is the bright spot there.
November 2024
The Reserve is a very special place that my mom loves living in. She has lots of friends and she enjoys many activities including a daily exercise class, crafts, bingo, special events that include outside family members, and weekly music performances. My mom eats three delicious meals a day, in a restaurant-like setting where she can choose between a couple of healthy entrees. She also has her own room with a walk-in shower, and the staff keeps it clean and tidy for her. Speaking of the staff, they are compassionate, and professional. I’m very glad I was able to find a place that treats my mom so well, and she loves so much.

My mom just passed and was a resident at The Reserve. We are grateful that she was living there for her last year. I live across the street, and dropped by on many occasions and at anytime of the day. There seemed to always be something going on for the residents (whether they wanted to do it or not), and to me seemed as if most residents were as happy as they could be. We all know that it is not easy at that age and they probably wish they could do more, but The Reserve was the safest place for my mom (or the other residents). She always had great things to say about the food and made friends. I always knew the staff cared about the residents, but really noticed it more during her last few weeks. They were there for our family as much as her. I have thanked each of the staff for all they did for us so many times, but want to give them another thank you so others will realize this place is THE PLACE if you are looking for a loved one that needs care in Citrus County. My mother was hesitant about entering an assisted living facility, and did not want to talk about it for the last year. In March, she agreed that it was time to give it a try. She loves living at The Reserve at Citrus! She is much more active then she has been in the past few years. She takes part in activities, and goes to exercise class every morning. She can not say enough good things about the staff. I find the staff always friendly, helpfull and available. And the food! Mom says it is always very good. I don't know how we could be happier!

My mom and dad moved into The Reserve a month ago because mom needed extra care. She had profound dementia and was non-verbal and confined to a wheelchair. Dad didn't need much care but stayed with mom in the assisted living section. The staff at The Reserve were all so welcoming to them. Everyone seemed to care about them and always greeted them with a smile. The nurses were attentive and caring to mom and made sure she was comfortable at all times. They kept up the care until the end. Unfortunately mom passed away after only being there a month but within that time they made her and dad feel like family. Thank you to everyone at The Reserve.

I deeply regret my failure to clearly communicate my empathy for Tammy Cane’s situation. Having been my grandmother’s primary caregiver I completely understand how difficult it is. Even though my grandmother was my whole world and I had the support of my family, there came a time when I could no longer provide the care she required. The decision had to be made to place her in the care of professional caregivers. That is what I love about working at The Reserve. We provide the daily care our residents need and deserve, and allow their families to become wives, husbands, sons and daughters again! Our team assists our residents to live their best life, every day!

This assisted living is such a wonderful place. Every time I go and visit everyone is so welcoming and the residents are always so happy. It has a home-like atmosphere. This is a place someone could call home, as it is home to all the residents there. The staff is caring and attentive to the residents needs. You can truly feel the dedication from all the staff through all their hard work. Nothing goes unnoticed, but this assisted living sure stands out.

My dad and I placed my mom at the Reserve on July 2nd 2021. The transition period was rough because of my mother's advanced cognitive decline. However, thanks to the kind, caring, and compassionate attention from the caregivers, as well as the management staff, mom is thriving well!!! She receives everything she needs and then some. Dad has eaten numerous meals at the Reserve and says the food is excellent. Mom enjoys her new friends and really likes the group participation activities, as well as the music groups and religious organizations that routinely visit the facility. I thank God for leading us to mom's new home at The Reserve, and I know she is blessed to be a resident of this facility.

Dad has been at Brookdale now for 10 years and loves it. In his late 90's, he stays vital and sharp;, saying "It's like living on a cruise ship with all the activities and good food choices here!" The management is exceptional, and they have a caring staff who treats the residents like it's their home. I am so grateful that living at Brookdale is helping my father have a great quality of life.

It's now about a year and a half since BOTH of my parents were admitted into the memory care unit at Brookdale Citrus. My wife and I can honestly say we rest comfortably knowing that they are receiving the best care. Before their admittance we were constantly worried as they tried their best to live independently while fighting the progress of their dementia and Alzheimers. Now they are integrated into the community with proper nutrition, medication and social interaction along with friendly and professional staff support. We highly recommend Brookdale Citrus.

I find Emeritus a safe and secure as well as a very friendly home for my mom. She has resided at Emeritus for the past year and a half. Her overall health has improved from her living on her own and I don't worry about her well being anymore. I could not have found a better place for mom. Sue D. Hernando, Fl.
