My Mom is a resident at Brookdale Southpoint and our experience has been nothing less than outstanding. The entire staff, under the leadership of the facilitys Director Stephanie, go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are well cared for. Like everything in life, stuff happens. But when stuff does happen, Stephanie and her team work tirelessly to turn an actual or perceived wrong into a right. We are so grateful that the free service provide by A Place For Mom referred us to Stephanie and her team of professionals.

i came there this weekend for breakfast too visit my grandma friend I tell you the breakfast looks very good I came all the way from Mississippi Pascagoula hopefully I can come back and get serveries again. the server raven was so sweet we got too breakfast late and she made sure she had her breakfast hot and ready for her also she made me feel like she cared because as she was cleaning she made sure she didnt need anything wonderfully staff cant wait too visited again

My mom is in memory care at Brookdale Southpoint. No matter when I visit, she is always clean, groomed, and active doing something with other residents or members of the staff. Her cognitive abilities have remained consistent now and I am so appreciative of the dedication and hard work the staff puts in each day. My phone calls are always returned and the entire staff is helpful and friendly. I am able to sleep soundly at night because I know mom is in capable hands. My sincerest thanks to all staff members at Brookdale Southpoint. I know your jobs can be exhausting, but you do it with a smile and I admire your dedication to the people who depend on you every day

Amazing place. I have been dealing with a father battling dementia and he is very difficult to work with. I moved him to Jacksonville to be closer to family and the transfer was traumatic. The staff at Southpoint Brookdale went out of their way to help him feel at home and settle in. I am forever grateful for all that they have done.

My mom. Nan, 89, has been here for ten months. Prior to that, she was in a rehab facility, for 6 months. I think the people giving low reviews, are extremely frustrated, possibly with the aging process of their elderly loved one. At this stage of the game, everything can, and often will, go wrong physically and mentally with a person. Ive visited several assisted living facilities, and know friends with loved ones in others. None of them are as good as this Brookdale. Firstly, it is clean. The ladies in charge of cleaning take their jobs seriously, and all common areas are extremely clean Yes, some residents complain about their rooms, but all they have to do is ask for an extra cleaning. Secondly, they are a small facility, so no one is lost in the shuffle. Ive literally visited a facility where residents are constantly clamoring around the lobby, hallways, and even elevator, with no attention being paid to them. This would not happen at Brookdale, for more than a couple minutes before someone came to the rescue. Thirdly, the executives and Nurses do their best, in what could possibly be a dreary and dismal job, with clients passing away, and becoming ill, as part of the natural progression of life. Yet, they try their best to be upbeat, even when having to combat and counter act negative feedback and finger pointing, and constantly trying to cover all bases I cant imagine how difficult that must be, and do not think I could do such a job. Finally, the staff, certainly are underpaid. For the work they do, cleaning-wiping patients, giving meds, lifting, pushing and pulling, feeding and comforting, they should be earning a much better salary. Still, every single person is approachable, and in good spirits. Some of the caretakers are so incredibly compassionate, it gives me hope in humanity. Im very thankful for the care my mom is receiving, and wish the staff at Brookdale were shown more appreciation, for a very difficult job. It is true there can be improvement with communication between staff, like the former employee posted, but I challenge anyone to present a perfect facility, or even a better one. To anyone facing this incredibly difficult task of making sure your elderly loved one is cared for, I offer this advice: Be proactive in all aspects and, although difficult, chose when to be reactive. Instead of placing blame on anyone (including yourself), realize there is a plan and an expiration for all life. Shifting blame to any person or entity, is not going to heal your loved one and reverse time. Only kindness, with tough love and dedication, will ease your soul

My mother has been in assisted living at Brookdale for about five months now. I was extremely impressed when I moved her in. It was very clean, it did not have any sort of odor to it except maybe the fabulous smells coming from the kitchen. And everyone was just so darn nice and willing to help. Its a stressful time dropping a parent off in a facility for the first time and the staff completely understands that. Now that she has been there for a few months, I am even more impressed. Its the people who make or break a place and these people really are the best. The whole staff, Stephanie, Jasmine, Stacy, the Lonnies, Melvin, Veruska, Felisha, and countless aides are so kind.They have taken the time to learn my mom and all her little quirks so that they can give her the best days possible. I swear they really do treat their residents as if they were their own parents. They deserve 10 stars !!!

I have used this opening line before, usually with a negative review. You only get one opportunity to make a good first impression. This time the administrative staff at Brookdale Southpoint made a very good first impression. Starting with Veruschka when we were first looking for a place for my wifes father who was being discharged from a rehab facility with just a weeks notice and no place to go. She was very knowledgeable of all the details of her facility, very friendly and patient with all our questions, even going so far as to provide her cell phone number and telling us if we had any other questions to call her at anytime. The first place we took my father-in-law did not work out after less than 24 hours. We called Veruschka just to find she was off that day, but she spent a good portion of time helping us coordinate a pre-weekend move. She is such an Angel. She put us in touch with Stephanie, the Executive Director, and prepped her for our call, then Stephanie took over and went out of her way to help us out of a desperate situation, even adjusting the deadline for getting my wifes Dad moved in, twice. She coordinated the nursing help that would be needed to get us in the door and then the help he would need after our arrival. This brings us to Lonnie 2, personally I think he should be Lonnie 1, but I havent met Lonnie 1 yet. Both main nurses are named Lonnie and I hope to meet Lonnie 1 soon. Lonnie 2 was there as soon as we walked in the door with a wheel chair for my father-in-law to borrow and assisted him in getting into the building. He treated my father-in-law like a real human and with a sense of humor instead of as a burden or an interruption to his routine. What a wonderful man. This transfer into the Brookdale facility was not a typical transaction for them or us. We had just moved my wifes father into a foster home facility the previous evening and got a call before 8:00 am the next morning stating that could not care for him and we had to get him out of there immediately. Four hours later and with the help of the Brookdale staff as mentioned above we had a place for him to go, but that was not the end of our ordeal, we still had the paperwork to do and what a mountain of paperwork. Stephanie was there to help every step of the way, she was extremely patient with all my questions and had clear and precise answers to all my concerns, even those she had never receive before. After more than 8 hours of exhausting phone calls and return calls and the help of the Brookdale staff, my father-in-law had a place to stay instead of being homeless, on a day that Brookdale does not normally allow move ins. That is what I call going above and beyond. 5 stars are not enough. Also kudos to Melvin the maintenance manger for asking my father-in-law about his desires in prepping his apartment. While I was doing the paperwork, my wife had the chance to meet quite a bit of the floor staff and she was just as impressed with them as I was with the administrative staff. I am sorry we cannot remember all their names so that they could get the recognition they deserve, but I maybe be able to post more later. One last comment, as we were leaving, it was not quite dinnertime but they allowed him to enter the dinning room early and greeted him by name on his very first day. Thank you Raven for making him feel special.

We have a family member in Assisted Living at Brookdale Southpoint. She has been there three months. We are thrilled with the staff. Choosing to move a loved one to an ALF is an incredibly difficult decision. Gods grace, friends prayers and The staff have helped us during the transition. They take good care of our loved one.

I dont know why anyone would give this place one star or less. Ive had Blanche over here for almost 4 years, I could not take her anywhere better. I had a opportunity to get her closer to me for my convenience and yet to think of that I would jeopardize the care she got here verses other places was not worth it. The nurse staff is wonderful. Very pleasant and kind. The people who live there are great. Very nice. The nurses take extra care and the CNAS too. The executive director takes time to listen even greets you if she isnt busy with someone. Both Lonnie s are wonderful! They show that they care. I cannot ask for a better place. I am very pleased with this facility. So is my friend Blanche
