Sunrise was a life saver for us when my mother's needs became too much for us at home. It's lovely and most there seems to have a heart for this kind of business.We got there just prior to covid. As imagined, there were some rough spots to be ironed out. We had quite a few difficulties over the past two years. Although we brought these to the attention of the management (at the time), nothing seemed to change much. Communication seemed to be a problem at many levels and in many directions. It was the root of most of the issues we encountered.Ultimately, we choose to move our mother, for several reasons. However, the story does not stop there.Even after we were no longer part of the Sunrise family, I met with the Regional Director, who was very attentive and professional. She listened intently, noting my issues and was certainly apologetic. She shared that there has been some significant changes to both staff and procedures since our departure. In my opinion, that should take care of many of the concerns and issues we were having.So, while I cannot speak to how those changes will play out, I say for sure that most of the caregivers there have a heart for their work. They did the best they could with what they had. Mother did, in fact, seem to thrive there.Choosing a place for your loved one can be so very stressful. Ask a lot of questions, take notes, and hold those involved accountable. I hope the afore mentioned changes help to cure the ills at Sunrise. Many lovely people do their life's mission there. And for sure, many families need such a place.

I've been working at Sunrise of Jacksonville for the last 4 months. I have absolutely fallen in love with this community. Talking with the residents is the favorite part of my day. I would like to say if my parents were living I would definitely want them cared for by the team of Sunrise at Jacksonville.

The facility is lovely and kept very clean. The care managers made my Mom feel like she really mattered. We had a lot of miscellaneous needs and they took care of them, right down to resetting my moms bluetooth hearing aid remote. The phone is always answered by a person and messages are delivered quickly to the care managers or whoever I was trying to reach. Michelle, the Assisted Living Manager, was most helpful and tried to engage my mom in activities and other aspects of living at Sunrise. The food needs improvement, which is why I didnt rate it a 5. Every other area is definitely a 5. I am thankful for all the care my mom received.

My grandmother was a resident of Sunrise for just a short time but in that period of time, it felt like family! I trusted the level of care she was receiving, got regular updates, and knew she was safe when I was miles away! Im eternally grateful for the support from the team!

My father, who suffers from dementia, moved into the memory care home in the fall of 2016. The facilities are top notch and we have been very pleased with the care and attention our father has received along with the engaging daily activities provided for the residents. I visit regularly and have found the caregivers to be thoughtful and patient when working with memory impaired residents. The courtesies and thoughtfulness extended to me and my family by staff has exceeded my expectations.

The staff at Sunrise treat my mother like family. Shes developed relationships that have kept her spirit engaged and happy. I personally appreciate the staffs attention to detail and going above and beyond for my family.

After considering several places for my aunt to reside, Im so glad we chose Sunrise. The staff has been and continues to be wonderful, supportive, and very helpful. The community is great and my aunt has settled in and is very happy having realized it best that she is not living alone any longer. I have dealt with Ms. Victoria Priore as my primary point of contact and have determined that I could not have made a better point of contact for any questions or concerns that arise. She is always very responsive and positive in her discussions with me. I also have met and talked with several other staff members (including meeting the Director) and all have a very caring, cooperative, and dedicated attitude. My family remains very satisfied with our Sunrise experience.

At first we were hesitant to have my Mom move to the memory unit, but the staff encouraged us and said it would be best for my Mom. It has been a great experience. The staff is very kind and supportive. There are many great activities. My mom is more engaged socially, instead of sitting in her room all day.

My Mother was diagnosed 12 years ago with AD and lived in Lake City. She was at home for a while and then we had to make other arrangements as things progressed. We looked a many places prior to making our decision and walked out immediately from several. When I saw Sunrise it was exactly what I was looking for. Beautifully decorated not institutional looking and a comfortable place for Mom and me to visit. She was there for 7 years and I believe she blossomed there with lots of activities and interaction with others and family dining. The care they provided was wonderful. The best thing you can ask for as a caregiver, family member is to know someone is watching over the most important person in your life showing love and compassion and lots of patience as you would. We had a few ups and downs but all in all it was the absolute best I could have asked for. They truly cared for her!

The activities director is top notch and will keep you or your senior busy and engaged with fun and meaningful activities. Any concerns you may have are dealt with quickly and to your satisfaction. The meals are prepared by a professional chef and the diners have choices. Its not just the same meal for everyone as in most places. Look around and compare. Sunrise will meet and exceed your expectations.
