This is the cream of the crop in Fort Myers! The food and dining hours are without compare, and we had experience with two other facilities before this one!! The caring staff ensure the residents get engaged which makes all the difference! My mother in law had been at another assisted living in Fort Myers and was just neglected! Her physical and mental state were so bad we thought more care was going to be needed than just assisted living. But this amazing group of people not only got her healthy but better than she'd been in almosy two years! Everything is clean, the support, nursing, techs, and administrative staff are caring, communicative and involved. Uni, Chef Ace, Melissa, and Jamie are total rock stars!! I recommend this place to anyone wanting the best life and care for their loved ones!!

I perform almost every month at Discovery Commons. The residents and staff are always pleasant. I have never had anything but praises for this community. Every time I sing, I have a full house and everyone is up either dancing or singing along with me. Everyone has a wonderful time! I always enjoy my time there with everyone. A lot of them come up to me and talk to me when I’m done. I always make myself available for them and vice versa. I highly recommend Discovery Commons.

My mom just passed 2 years of living here! Dad & Mom started out here 2 years ago, but then Dad moved over to the Memory Care side the end of 2023. Nicole and her team in MC took such great care of dad! And with MC under the same roof as assisted living where mom was, she could safely go over and visit him every day! My dad passed away the end of March with the loving staff taking care of him right til the end. The staff and residents are just like family for my mom! They all love her and continue to take excellent care of her! I HIGHLY recommend this place for your loved ones! THANK YOU to ALL of the staff at Discovery Commons Cypress Point!

This is one of the finest senior living facilities I have seen. I have been an entertainer in Lee County since 1999, and I have seen many facilities. I have not had a bad experience at Discovery Commons Cypress Point of Fort Myers.

Our experience with Discovery Commons at Cypress Point comes from having served as volunteers there since its opening. We have provided monthly accordion sing-along programs for both Assisted Living and Memory Care residents at this beautiful facility. While we work most closely with staff involved with activities, we regularly have contact with and observe personnel from administration, health and personal care, food services, and maintenance. In all our time there, we have found the employees to be professional, cooperative, supportive, personal, caring, and genuinely concerned and dedicated to serving and meeting the health and welfare needs of each resident in their care. We consider it a privilege and a blessing to be part of this fine team, and with them to touch and make a positive difference in the lives of so many special, wonderful people. Jim and Lynn

I enrolled my mom in Cypress Point (now called Discovery Commons at Cypress Point) in Fort Myers in 2018 when she was 91 years old, soon after the facility had opened. It's now 6 years later, mom is 97 years old, in great health (physically and mentally), and she loves her new home. Part of the reason she's in such good health is because this is a first class assisted living facility. It's clean, modern and comfortable. The staff is awesome.They are professional, personable and knowledgeable. The Executive Director and leadership team is top notch. The residents are their primary priority. Mom has made many friends both with residents and staff. I talk to her every day and she always has a new story of some interesting activity she was involved in, or a new friend she met. She is very social and this facility provides many opportunities for her to interact with others in a fun and meaningful way. I never thought mom would adapt to life in an assisted living facility because she was such an independent woman. But she has not only adapted, she has thrived. It's as if the last stage of her life is still full of a life worth living, with something to look forward to every day. What a blessing…!! I attribute this to my mom's positive outlook, and to being in a top notch assisted living facility with people who are caring and attentive.

in the time my parents have been here, I have seen there isn't TEAM WORK, patient's have to wait and wait, the employees have been short and rude with responding. There is ALWAYS a shortage of meals, what is on the menu, always running out…this facility has a count of ALL the patient's there is NO excuse. iFor price paid isn't justified. Very disappointed.

From the Director throughout the administration the nursing staff and the general staff working in the memory unit; they are without question the most caring, compassionate and kind people that I have ever encountered. My sister and I recently completed a search for an assisted living facility for my mom. We want the absolute best for her and we're blessed to have found it at Discovery Commons. Discovery Commons is a special place! Julia and her staff go above and beyond in determining individual needs and throughly explaining services and residential options. The residents, as well as staff, are very welcoming. They, as well as individual residents, introduced themselves to my mom and engaged her in conversation, which has made my mom feel part of the community. The facility is well maintained and well appointed. The staff is competent and responsive. The living quarters are comfortable. There are various activities for residents, and the staff actively encourages residents to participate. If you need a place for a loved one and peace of mind, I highly recommend Discovery Commons.

My sister is resident at Discovery Commons & she's absolutely thriving since moving there. The set up with the open dining room near the entrance is wonderful because it creates a feeling of community. The dining room is a light, bright & spacious area. Additionally, there are many various activities & outings to choose from. Most importantly, the staff & administrators have a sincere interest in the residents wellbeing.

As a nurse practitioner I been honored to serve resident patients in over 50 senior communities. What stands out at Discovery Commons South Biscayne begins with Melissa Vanderbilt-Bestor and team.Melissa is out among the residents; not hiding in her office. The smiles on the faces of the residents evoked by Melissa's engagement is a sight to behold. Joy matters! Melissa gets it!

My sister is currently a resident of this facility. I agree with all that has been said about this facility. However, I have one more comment that needs to be stated. I have been her caregiver for 31 years. I had to make the decision to place her in an assisted living facility. I was terrified, as she has a seizure disorder and I worried what would happen when she finally did. Well that finally happened and I got the call late at night. I told the aide how to handle her and together we got her safely out of this seizure. I am so grateful that she read her records and knew to call me. She was not hurt and did not require medical assistance. The fact that she cared so much and had never faced this before means everything to me. She could have called an ambulance which was not needed, however she handled her care perfectly. This facility in my opinion deserves a rating above 5 stars. She is safe, happy and loves everything about where she is. I am thrilled and can rest knowing that she is receiving great medical care.

Discovery Commons has the best staff and customer service. My mom moved into Discovery Commons after leaving the hospital. It was a seamless transition. They are here for their patients and the family members. The staff members are very warm and make you feel welcome.

We were immediately greeted by a lovely, and educated lady named Nichole Hall. Nichole has spent countless hours explaining everything Cypress Point offers. She has a passion for her job and providing safety, security and love to her residents, and their families included! What an asset to Cypress Point! When we went to tour the facility, we were welcomed by a very polite gentleman named Ryan. They were very diligent with covid prevention & screening, from the moment we walked in. While Nichole walked us through the facility, explaining services offered, the entire staff smiled and said hello.The nurse, Michelle was wonderful also, providing additional information for us. The lunch provided for my parents was delicious, and fresh. While making a decision as to placement, Nichole Hall again took another hour, out of her busy day, to discuss the professional care provided by Cypress Point. Kudos to whoever hired Nichole. She is a true Angel!
