Two years ago, I made the decision to move Mom into memory care at The Residence at South Windsor Farms, and from day one they made us feel warm, welcome, and at home. That feeling has never changed. The staff is truly special. They care for the residents as if they were their own family, and their kindness shows in everything they do. The moment you walk through the doors, you feel welcomed and supported. As Mom’s needs have changed, the time has come to move her to a new home with a higher level of care. While this chapter is ending, our gratitude will never end. The Residence at South Windsor Farms will always be family to us. Thank you for the love, care, and dignity you have given Mom over the past two years. I will never forget it.

Caring, compassionate, energetic staff. My visits to my family member have always been unannounced. Each time there the facility, including brother-in-law's apartment, has been immaculate. My brother-in-law is content and happy, and his social and physical needs are obviously well tended to. Very reassuring to know that he's in a safe place and in competent hands. My sister-in-law Lynne resides there, and entrusting someone you love to the care of others is never easy. But the staff at Reflections have given us a gift we can never fully repay: peace of mind. They are phenomenal in every sense of the word ” loving, gentle, attentive, and endlessly patient. Every resident is known. Every resident matters. No one is overlooked. My family had a visit today. As soon as we walked into the place you get a welcoming feeling. A personalized welcome greeting was the first thing I saw. The building itself is warm with a living room, and fireplace inviting you to stay a while. Debbie is fantastic! Over lunch Debbie took time to get to know my father and tell us about the place. I never felt rushed as Debbie gave my family a tour of the place. She answered all our questions. I can tell Debbie genuinely cares about both potential new residents as well current residents. Thank you Debbie for the amazing visit!

My mother lived at The Residence at South Windsor Farms and passed away two weeks ago. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for her. It wasn't only care -- it was caring. We always felt welcome and supportive. Her apartment was just beautiful, and the food in the dining hall and the third floor bistro was superb. There are so many opportunities for interacting, learning, out-trips, parties, happy hours, and learning. They get my highest recommendation, along with my thanks, for the wonderful environment for her to spend her final years.

It felt like Debbie and her team dropped everything to help me from the first call. I was texting with her immediately and was able to coordinate doctor care, insurance, and everything else to have my father moved in within a week of my first phone call. The facility and every team member continue to exceed all expectations. The onsite dining lives up to the reputation. The nursing staff is extremely communicative, thorough, and caring. You get everything and more you’d hope for from this place and my father is extremely happy in his new home. I would recommend this place to everyone.

From the moment you walk in the door at the Residence at South Windsor Farms everyone is so warm and welcoming. The public areas are beautiful and the studio apartments are spacious. I met with Debbie for a tour. The love she has for her job and the community was obvious from the information she shared, as well as through her interactions with staff and residents. She went above and beyond to assist myself and my father, doing it with empathy and compassion.

I have experienced many assisted living facilities over the years, visiting many family members and friends in there, as well as providing health care in some. I rate the Residence at South Windsor Farms as # 1. The Best!! My aunt moved in with some trepidation last fall, thinking it would be a hard adjustment after being in the same house for 60 plus years. Her son and I were amazed that within one week she had fallen in love with the place and declared that she was home. She loves the staff, the food, the varied programs every day and the entertainment. The buildings and grounds are lovely, flowers everywhere, all the time. Most recently, the Residence provided excellent comfort care for my uncle for four months until his passing. My aunt continues to enjoy being surrounded by all her new friends, and is proud to entertain old friends in the beautiful, fireplaced common area living room that each floor enjoys. Debbie Battista is an incredible asset to the Residence as the Marketing Director. She goes the extra mile every day giving dinner tours, helping people move in, setting up all the Residence events, holiday parties, a garden party, summer cookout, lobster fest and even private family birthday parties and my uncle’s Celebration of Life. Luke Baillargeon is a multi- talented totally dedicated Events Director and musical wonder, playing many different instruments and styles of music. He carefully prepares for each event with hours of study, and gives the most amazing discourses on everything from Hannukah traditions to why Scrabin wrote left handed piano music. He does whatever needs to be done in the moment, including setting up tables and delivering food. The very competent Business Manager, Courtney Sylvain, also has the voice of an angel. Trained as a soprano opera singer, she regales the residents with her exquisite arias. Beth and Sylvia run the Jeopardy and other computer quiz games, each with their wonderful sense of humor and willingness to do anything to make residents comfortable. The Residence is blessed to have Chef Troy Sterling producing excellent gourmet meals, along with his able staff, including Cindy and Osama.

I took my mother here for a tour, and Debbie took us around and showed us this beautiful place. Debbie is wonderful, kind and understanding when dealing with your relative. We also had lunch there and the food was terrific. I highly recommend this place. If possible ask for Debbie she was great.

The Residence at South Windsor Farms has exceeded beyond expectation the care my brother is receiving everyday. The facility is clean, well maintained and from the staff I have gotten to know they appear to hire the best care giver. All are caring, friendly , well trained in caring for Alzheimer patients for which I am most grateful. They have given me peace of mind knowing my brother is safe with and well cared for .

Management likes to tout its food program as its star. It is true, they offer a true restaurant experience for residents with plentiful options including steak and seafood plus many delicious desserts. However as a son who helped his parents with their choice to move in, I’d argue their nursing team is tops both for their communication with me and compassion for my parents. They don’t have an easy job, but they always seem to be smiling. Overall, I’ve had good experiences with all of the staff.

My sister and I moved our father into The Residence at South Windsor a month ago after being sorely disappointed with another location that we had him in for 6 months. The difference was immediate and drastic in nothing but amazing ways! The staff is amazing and truly worked with us to understand Dad’s likes, dislikes, and personality. They have gone above & beyond to treat Dad with the utmost respect and kindness. They allow him his alone time and are quickly learning the activities that he will thrive in. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with The Residence. Our only regret is that we didn’t move him in there to begin with.

I would love to tell you that the smile Linda Nelson at the reception greet me with every time I walk in to the building is precious. Beth Pulford from activity always go above and beyond and is so enthusiastic with the work she does. Felisha Osborne in the office is always accommodating and helpful. Last but not least, the exceptional work from nursing with Ki Ki and KATianne made this facility a wonderful place to be at.

Mom and I tour The Residence at South Windsor Farms this week. The 1 BR was very spacious compared to other communities. Plenty of activities and the staff was very friendly. We ate lunch in the dining room. What a menu! Deb was a fabulous guide. Top 2 as we try and make a decision.

This community has welcomed me from day one…I’m the current hairstylist, honored to service the residents. I have felt like “ I’m home “ when I walk in the door . You get a calming sensation & you are greeted by a professional staff as you enter the front doors … even walking throughout the building during the time I’m there, everyone has a friendly hello and a smile . I’ve work in other facilities over the years and never got the same feeling. I’m close to 70 myself and would definitely consider living here if the time came that I needed some assistance for my daily living activities… highly recommend if you’re considering an environment for a loved one !

My mom was a resident in the memory care for about 7 months. It was 7 months of very poor communication, very high staff turnover and ended with my mom being sent to hospital without me being informed and they didn’t know what hospital she was sent to.. we choose right then and there to move out of this facility. Very Poor management

I visited and researched several assisted living communities before visiting The Residence at South Windsor Farms. The residents and employees were so welcoming and KIND. I knew this was THE place for our sister to call her new home. The physical facility is always clean and inviting with exterior and interior decorating changing with the seasons - like a private home. My sister moved in with a very complicated medication regime. I can’t say enough about the nursing professionals going above and beyond to make things work for her. You rarely see this kind of dedication today. Our whole experience has been a large group of people- our new family who have been welcoming, kind and professional to us and our sister. Thank you all for your efforts and dedication.

I visited the community and everyone was so friendly and welcoming and has a family like atmosphere. The food choices are wonderful and more than what I have seen in many fine restaurants. Director of Marketing, Mary was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and answered all our questions and concerns.

Our time at the Residence SW was much too short. I moved my Dad in during the final stage of his life and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Most striking was the positive engagement, care, and attentiveness of the staff with the residents. From kitchen staff assisting residents w/ meal choices/dietary needs, to nursing staff readily responding w/ physical care, to the recreation staff who were amazing in providing activities (even outdoor walks w/ residents) to ensure residents’ physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well being. Unfortunately, my Dad went on Hospice the day after he arrived; the nursing staff was instrumental in helping us w/ this process and assisting us w/ the administration of comfort medications. When my Dad passed, the Director and staff went above and beyond in reaching out to us to ensure our needs were met. Thank yOu for your kindness, compassion and sensitivity to our situation..I am truly grateful for the support we received during an extremely difficult time. - K. Ferreira

My husband and I just want to say thank you to the residence for hosting some lovely free events open to the public. The latest one was a seafood lunch complete with lobster rolls, coleslaw, seafood chowder, shrimp cocktail, and even wine! They went above and beyond. We ate outside on table cloth covered tables, and the entire affair was tasteful and elegant. Thank you for your gracious efforts and delicious food.

My mom was recently transferred to this residence after careful consideration by her children. We were worried about the impact of this transition on her at 95 years old. We couldn’t be happier or more relieved. The care is exceptional. I’d like to give a special shout out to the chef whose food she loves and the van driver who takes time every day to chat with her. We all have peace of mind now knowing that she is in good hands.

I love this place. The staff are very friendly, the facility is maintained, the services meet my mothers requirements. Oh, and the food is awesome! I moved my mother into the facility in November after evaluating several facilities in the area. So far so good! Hillary who works at the front desk is always chipper and helpful!

We made a joint decision with my Mom to move her into The Residence at South Windsor Farms in March. I conducted thorough research of other facilities and chose The Residence because of their staff, programs and the excellent food choices. The facility and grounds are beautiful. My mother couldn’t be happier, and the family is also very pleased with the assistance provided to her. Her transition from living in her own home was seamless. Our experience has been great and the staff here is top notch.

As conservator for my friend I had to help make the decision where she would live now that living at home was not possible. From the first day I toured the facility I knew that this was going to be home. It is a beautiful place that is kept immaculate. The staff is attentive and caring. There are many activities to keep the residents social and active. The dining room is a wonderful experience that i have enjoyed often. My mother was one of the original residents at The Residence at South Windsor Farms in CT. We searched for several years to find a place that she would like to no avail. She wanted a small community with a personal touch and a feeling of assurance that she would be happy. We found out that the Residence was opening and so she applied and when it was ready to open she went with full enthusiasm. It took me about 5 years to convince her that she should not be living alone in her condo anymore. I live in Florida and I cannot tell you how blessed I am that she is in a safe, upscale home where the entire staff is friendly and keep me abreast of everything going on. The fact that they have no "set" time for meals was a bonus to her. The residents can go to the elegant dining room at any hour of the day or evening to have a meal instead of everyone having to go at once. They will even cook special requests. They constantly have events and day trips to wonderful places and she takes advantage of it all. When I call her, she can only talk for a couple of moments as she is too busy with her activities. I have met many of the other residents and they are all so welcoming and pleasant to talk to. I would highly recommend anyone that is contemplating moving to a retirement community to make this place a must to see. If you are looking for a community to place an elderly relative...this is it. I never have to worry about my mother and know that she is in safe hands at all times. I give it a 5-star rating for it's professionalism, cleanliness, environment , and peace of mind.

My dad had a one bedroom "apartment" on the 3rd floor. It was planned that way so that he would not attempt the stairs and was forced to take an elevator for safety reasons. The apartment was beautiful, the place was beautiful, the food was great. There was entertainment that came in, church services, a baby grand piano right outside the dining hall and occasional dance lessons (that we started). The staff in general was very nice. They did take, as a whole, decent care of him. We aren't sure if it was because the staff knew we visited him almost on a daily basis. On the down side, scheduled services as my dad's dementia worsened, became unsettling as he was not always brought to dinner, his clothes or sheets were lost by the cleaning service we bought for him, he was suppose to be taken on walks so he wouldn't sleep all day, but he could be very stubborn and the staff gave up on trying to get him moving at times. But they did try. The place offers field trips for the people which is nice in general, but my dad should not have been left on his own. His confusion caused him to put many items in his cart that he would not be able to pay for. He would never had remembered where to go to get a ride back if I were not there to help him. I came by the shopping place to see how he was doing with the group and no one was guiding him. I was concerned about that. Overall, we were somewhat pleased with the overall place, but we were surprised that there wasn't more music incorporated into the place, which we know from personal experience the power of music on Alzheimer's and dementia patients. The place is beautiful, but everything is at a cost.

They are happy because the staff are warm and caring, the food is enjoyable, activities offered are varied and fun, the facilities are modern yet feel like home and finally, we know they are being treated well and with respect.
