The staff and team at Buckland Court go above and beyond, providing exceptional care, attention and support to residents and their families. I've had the pleasure of referring families to Buckland Court and have been impressed.

We spent time touring the facility and it is beautiful and updated. The meals seem like a restaurant. We were given freshly baked cinnamon bread after our visit. The staff was warm and welcoming and we saw residents happy and interacting. The room we saw was a smaller one that was available. I appreciated all the helpful information given and supportive Benchmark emails as we are navigating a difficult decision on where to place my mom. This may not be where she ends up because she lives in NY state, but I would be happy being here when my time comes.

good community. there are a lot of quality activities offered. Including day trips to locations around the state. Well maintained facilities. Amenities are adequate. Staff is friendly and competent. Everything outline in the contract is satisfied, technically; but most services are not actually provided in reality due to restrictions that are not clearly defined: transportation has so many restrictions it is unusable housekeeping and maintenance requests are delayed by months sometimes Anything extra will show up on your bill for the following month. Rent is raised yearly by almost 20%. overall a good community. excellent if you are able to clearly define your personal preferences.

Our family has been extremely happy with the Village at Buckland Court ever since my sister moved here two months ago. Everyone has made her (and all of us) feel so welcome and quickly she was encouraged to be part of this wonderful village. Everyone here has helped her with the transition from home to her "new home". We are so grateful for everyone. The love and caring here is so obvious the minute you walk in the door.

My mom is living at The Village at Buckland Court and absolutely loves it! The staff treat her like a queen. She loves the food and activities and has made many friends. I would highly recommend this place.

Just what we needed for Dad! Everyone is so welcoming and caring! Dad was instantly drawn in and engaged. I haven't seen this side of Dad in a very long time. Many thanks for the special care in the memory unit!

My aunt moved in and her apartment is perfect. Everyone was so welcoming and made my aunt feel like she was the most important person there. The nurse Kay was patient and took her time talking with us. Jordan was nice to make us all feel welcome when we arrived to move her furniture into the apartment. Joyce met us when we brought my aunt back and she made this process so easy for my family. We had met Frank the day before and he was also welcoming and helpful. This experience that we were anxious about wound up making us feel so at ease that we know we made the right choice. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for senior living.

They really put on s good show when you haven't signed a contract, yet. And the large amount of included amenities looks oil Impressive and they are available"technically" but when you try to take advantage of them you find out about the many restrictions that make them unavailable. I've lived here for three years and only seen the quality drop in people and maintainance.

Amy writing: My mother moved into The Village at Buckland Court on July 12, 2024. When Kelly, RN, the Resident Care Director asked my mother how she was doing at her one month assessment, my mother stated, "I'm very happy here." That was all I needed to hear to confirm that we as a family had made the right decision to help our mother move to The Village. She has subsequently told me many times that she is happy and that we made the right decision with her move. My sisters and I took our mother to visit 3 local assisted living communities. We toured them and asked lots of questions. After discussing each facility with her, we asked Mom which one she liked the best. She stated, "The Village." We were elated because we all liked it the best as well. The Village has a home-like feel to it. Mom loves her apartment. The apartment was completely refurbished between the previous tenant departing and Mom moving in: walls freshly patched and painted, carpet replaced, flooring replaced, etc. It was like moving into a new apartment. The hallways provide ample places for Mom to safely walk without regard to the weather. There are grab bars that look like chair rails along the hallways, if needed. The dining room is spacious with lots of natural light. Mom enjoys sitting with her tablemates. Mom has enjoyed the varied activities offered, and then also enjoys retreating to her own personal space in her apartment. I cannot say enough good things about the staff! The first person we met (pre-scouting, before we even brought Mom for a tour) was Jordan at the desk. He welcomed us so warmly and answered many questions. All of the people we worked with were kind, well-informed and helped us through the process in every way that we needed. We felt as though Mom would adjust well here at the Village, and our hopes, and more importantly, Mom's hopes, have been realized. I would like to thank Jordan, Joyce, Jennifer, Kelly, Allyson, Maureen, Bart and Lynda for making our Mom's adjustment so smooth.

A year ago, after a medical emergency caused in part by my "adopted sister's" dementia and early stage Alzheimer's disease, we realized that she should not stay alone in her house. Medical professionals recommended that she be placed in a locked memory care facility. When we talked Joyce at The Village, however, she said that she would do just fine in assisted living, and that is where we placed her. One year later, she is thriving in assisted living, having made friends and not confining herself to her room. It was quite an adjustment for her, but the staff has been excellent in encouraging her participation in activities. And although she is getting a lot of individualized care, because of the way it is handled, she doesn't realize it, which gives her a feeling of independence. I highly recommend The Village at Buckland Court.

My Mother lives in the memory care unit at the Village at Buckland Court. She moved in about 4 months ago and Joyce made the transition, paperwork and move go seamlessly and quickly. My mother is very well cared for there and seems very content and happy. Thank you for treating her with respect, kindness and dignity. Christina

My tour here was the most enjoyable. Not only was the sales director knowledgeable but she addressed and talked to everything my wife and I said we were looking for or had a question about. We were able to meet staff who would be caring for my mother in law and I talked to a couple residents as we were walking around. Everyone was smiling and there were several activities going on for people to take part in. We felt listened to and that the sales person was genuine and interested in helping us. Touring right around the holidays has been stressful but MS. Waterbury made us feel at ease.

Firstly, the salesperson said they have a calendar filled every day with activities so that the memory care (Harbor) patients would always have something to do to keep their mind at work. I saw this calendar just outside the entrance to the Harbor area, and it looked great. Well, every single day I went to visit my mother there wasn’t ever ANYTHING going on. Everyone was just sitting on the recliners asleep. I never witnessed a single activity. I had a private aid with my mom every day all day as well, and she told us there wasn’t anything going on during the day. Secondly, while my mother was in the facility I had to reach out to a few people in upper management, [names removed], to get some basic questions answered. The emails or voicemails I left were rarely responded to. I’d have to get in my car and drive down there to get any communication across. This was very annoying. Thirdly, I reached out to get a couple simple things addressed in my mom’s room. There was a ton of dirty dust on the outside of the AC vent register on the ceiling. I wanted it cleaned off. You guessed it, nobody responded. When taking the tour of the facility, I noticed a lot of base trim work was removed in the large community area where the sofas and TVs are. I asked the salesperson about that. She said they were doing some renovating and painting. A month later and the base trim was still not reinstalled. If I had to guess, I'm sure it’s still not reinstalled at this very moment. My mom’s house was very neat, and in perfect repair, so these 2 minor things were important for me to get addressed. Finally, when all was said and done and my mom was no longer living here, they owed me some money. I went back and forth several times asking when I'd get it. It took them over a month to get me the money they owed me. That was a bit insulting. For the amount of money you pay to live there, they really should have MUCH better service. Some words of advice - stay away. If you absolutely have to move a loved one here, get them their own private aid and make sure they have a lot of visitors.

My mom has been here about 3 weeks now. We came here because her previous assisted living/memory unit insisted that she needed a higher level of care and that we needed to hire a private duty aide 24/7 on top of a two person assist and hoyer lift or explore skilled nursing. They said she was combative and aggressive during care. We thought she was scared because they were rushing. We thought that a third person was extreme. She weighs about 110 pounds. Fast forward to The Village at Buckland Court. My mom is very happy there and says "everyone is so nice". They haven't seen any aggressiveness or combativeness. The reason seems to be that the staff are better at what they do, they care and have compassion. We thought the other place was just falling down on the job and we were right. In addition to not needing a third person they are no longer needing to use the hoyer lift for her . She has improved so much in just three weeks. You can feel the good vibe as soon as you walk in. It's a great atmosphere. They really do care. The communication with all the staff is nothing short of fantastic. The food is great and the variety is fantastic. My mom is very very happy with the food and we couldn't be more pleased with her care. My mom passed away in June of 2021. Her care at the Village was spectacular until the end. My thanks to the staff there.

From the very beginning, Doug was amazing with my father. The transition to the Villages was a hard one and without Doug’s unbelievable professionalism, it would not have happened. If there was a video of the many discussions and encounters that first day, it would be your #1 training video for how to deal with incoming tenants. The amazing thing about Doug is he was both firm and exceedingly respectful. He allowed my father to maintain his dignity and afforded him an unlimited amount of respect while at the same time managing the situation effectively. I can say this without any hesitation because during my father’s journey over the past several years we encountered some very unprofessional behavior in Geriatric Care. Doug and his team were professional, courteous and caring well beyond anything we have seen. I have worked in healthcare IT for almost 2 decades now. I have witnessed various hospitals, health systems and ambulatory practice all over the country. The compassion that the team shows to the residents at the Villages is truly extraordinary. I cannot say, thank you enough times to these people.

My mother has lived in the Village at Buckland for approx 16 months and I could not be happier. I am a RN Case Manager and I work and deal with a lot of assisted living and health care facilities and this one is top notch. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and beautiful, the food is wonderful, and the care is outstanding. I am confident that my mother is being cared for in a way that I would if I could. I go to bed a night knowing she is safe, well cared for and very, very happy. Thank you to each and every person at the Village!!
