We love everything about Alto! My dad is a fairly new resident, and one of the biggest reasons he chose Alto was the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. When we first toured the community and sampled a meal, our entire family was genuinely impressed. We have high standards when it comes to food since sharing great meals is a big part of our daily lives, and Alto exceeded our expectations. The dining experience feels much more like a restaurant than a typical senior living community. Residents are presented with a menu at every meal, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The food is consistently fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, making every meal something to look forward to. Beyond the dining experience, the staff has been warm, welcoming, and attentive, helping make my dad's transition smooth and comfortable. It's reassuring to know he's in a place where he is well cared for and can enjoy both great meals and a wonderful community. We highly recommend Alto to anyone looking for a senior living community that truly values quality, comfort, and its residents.

The nursing team at Alto Evergreen impressed us the most, apart from our tour experience with Robin and Michele. Nurses Kate and Carli spent as much time as we needed answering questions about care. They spoke with kindness and compassion and treated us respectfully, never talking down to us. We feel reassured knowing we will be in capable and caring hands should we need help navigating this new world of senior living. This building is beautiful and my husband will have plenty of things to do to keep him busy while I join the community choir and the book club.

This facility was so nice. I had the most welcoming tour done by the staff there and everyone had a smile on their faces. They have a gorgeous outside seating area where and your loved ones can eat one of their delish meals from the cafe ( I recommend the BLT) or grill your own food. All of this combined with the gym, celebrity style salon, and movie room makes Me want to be the one retiring. 10/10 I will definitely be back and hopefully they save me a donut.

Choosing a memory care community for a loved one is one of the hardest decisions a family can make, but our experience at Alto at South Windsor has been wonderful. The building is always very clean, and almost everyone we have met has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. A special thank you to Michelle in Admissions. She was incredible throughout the entire process, providing us with all the information we needed and patiently answering every question we had. She truly made a difficult transition much easier. Sheron has also been so kind, caring, and helpful every step of the way. Janice at the front desk always greets everyone with a warm smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. And if you happen to bring your dog for a visit, she even has treats hidden behind her desk! One of the biggest reasons we chose Alto was Maureen, the Director of Ensemble Memory Care. She is phenomenal. Her compassion, love, and genuine care for every resident are obvious every time you see her. She always has a huge smile on her face, and it’s clear this isn’t just a job to her—she truly cares. I’d also like to recognize Chris, one of the caregivers. With more than 25 years of experience, he is attentive, knowledgeable, and treats the residents with tremendous respect and kindness. And Donna is as sweet as they come. She is another wonderful caregiver who consistently shows patience, warmth, and compassion. Overall, we have had a great experience at Alto. Most importantly, my mom seems happy, comfortable, and well cared for, which gives our family tremendous peace of mind. We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Alto for the care and compassion they show every day. Thank you for all that you do.

There are some outstanding people here who have helped make things a a lot easier for my Mom. Deb the hairdresser is a breath of fresh air! Mom loves her. Pauline is an amazing aide who is more like a friend and has a wonderful up beat way of helping Mom out. Nelson and Brian from maintenance are saints and always helping me get things fixed such as her daily tv issues. The nursing staff of Elizabeth, Kate and the others are very warm and caring. Bridget on the activity staff is super sweet and tries hard to get Mom involved. It is not easy putting your parent in Memory Care. I’ve had nothing but great experiences every time I visit my mother-in-law. Maureen and Chris, in particular, are fantastic—always accommodating, professional, and genuinely pleasant. The memory care unit is where we spend most of our time, and it’s consistently clean and welcoming. On top of that, the rest of the facility is impressive, with a beautiful bar, multiple dining areas, fireplaces, and comfortable spaces where families can relax and spend time together. It almost feels like a mini resort—honestly, I’ve half-joked more than once about putting my own name on the waiting list!

I have been a resident here for 3 + years. There are so many things that are offered to us on a daily basis. Transportation to MD appointments. Movies, trips to restaurants, museums, holiday celebrations. Classes for watercolor and oil painting. Craft classes. Card games and of course watch nights for our beloved UCONN Huskies!!! There is live music and Birthday celebrations!! The Staff here are very friendly and will help with your needs. Both my Husband and I need more assistance with our activities of daily living. That assistance is available. When more care is needed it is there when you need it. Upper management are out and about for residents to see and talk to. There is also a financial person available to help with and direct you with any concerns. We are glad we live here!

My mom has been at alto for 2 years going on 3. She started on the assisted pining side as she was more independent. Everyone is kind and welcoming Stephanie does great job with activities for assisted living along side Christina who always has a smile on her face. Desk staff is always helpful and greets you as you walk in. Mom has now moved to interlude as she needed more care. The day staff is amazing Pauline, Sophia,Cassie , Nadifa, Delaney and Lisa are the regular staff care partners. They work very hard and take care of my mom as if she was part of their family. I appreciate all of the staff. Bridgette and Kathy run the activities and they do a great job. Bingo is always a hit Evenings and nights care partners I don’t know everyone but all the care mom has received has been very good. All staff are kind and helpful. The nursing team is very attentive and caring. They always have time To listen when any issue comes up. There is a salon I the building Debbie runs and mom loves getting her hair done. Debbie is such a nice woman and so caring and kind. Mom is happy with her care and is very busy during the day. I may have forgot some names. we have had a great experience since we moved in February of 2024. Food staff Carlos runs a tight ship and the wait staff is wonderful they get to know all the residents and what they like and don’t like Wait staff is always so nice and helpful and if I ask for something for my mom they go above and beyond to get it for me to bring to her. We have had good experiences thus far with the facility and staff

My wife and I are pleased to return to Alto every two weeks, after leaving there six months ago to rent a family apartment in Hebron Returning to Alto for Jeanne’s semi-monthly salon appointments is like going back for a family reunion. All of the friends that we made while living there are so warm and welcoming. In particular , Debbie and Stephanie, make us feel like old acquaintances. If we didn’t have the family property available to us, we would return to living at Alto in a heartbeat.

This place was the answer to the care I needed for my fiance. He had cancer and parkingson's and needed the help to take care of him. The nurses were exceptional! The kitchen waitresses were supurb! Peg Contois was ALWAYS there for me to help with any issues I might have regarding my fiance. I would recommend this facility to anyone who just needed the extra care. The cleaning staff for the apartment was not good. They didn't do a good cleaning - in and out in half hour and the shower cleaning was terrible. I ended up having my own cleaning person come in!

My mother moved up from Long Island NY into Alto Senior Living just over 1 month ago to be closer to her family in South Windsor. She absolutely LOVES everything about this community! Her apartment has exactly what she needs. Its a new community, only a few years old. The apartments are well lit, safe and very spacious and also have amenities included, including laundry, housekeeping,maintenance, cable, internet. All the meals are prepared fresh in the restaurant and are delicious! We often have meals together here and the menu is so diverse and made to order. Daily specials and a great kitchen and dining staff. Our teenage kids love visiting grandma and getting to eat at the restaurants here too. The options for activities here are endless. From art sessions to daily happy hours and fire pits, to movies and cards, and can't forget about bus trips to events around Connecticut, mom is more busy now than she has been in a long while. The in house salon is exactly what she was looking for to get her hair and nails done whenever she desires. She calls her new home "Bougie sleep away camp for seniors." She has connected with and made many new friends in just the short time she has been a resident here. I can't leave out the amazing nursing care and assistance that is given to mom at Alto. She gets all the attention she requires for her daily needs from a dedicated and caring and knowledgeable nursing staff that assists her with all of her medications and really listens to her needs and concerns....plus any help is always a button push away.The physical therapy/occupational therapy department has to be commended for their incredible work as well. We looked at several local assisted living communities and the choice was easy once we found Alto.

Five Stars! For what would become the last three months of my wife's life, the HarborChase executive staff and caregivers in the Memory Unit were exceptional. It began in August at the very moment we arrived at the front door lobby. Two caregivers opened the car door to greet my wife. Comfortably placing her in a wheelchair, she was brought into the memory unit where we were never left alone for the entire day. Rebecca, the Director, made it her mission to be certain of our comfort in these new surroundings and that we became familiar with the unique situations and needs of the unit's residents. Because of my wife's rapidly declining health, I visited her nearly every single day until her passing in early December. As a result, I was witness to the care, love and support she received and that of the other residents in that unit as well. There is a commonality to the dreadful disease of dementia, but every individual's needs are unique. Each caregiver is every bit a saint in having to quickly deal with a multitude of unusual behaviors that those of the afflicted demonstrate every minute of the day. Do mistakes and misjudgments occur? Yes, but they are the exceptions. The HarborChase staff was with my wife until her last breath. Her care until the end was exceptional; and I cannot say enough about the love and support they gave me during these past three months. Five Stars!

My mother -in-law is a Resident in the Cove section of Harbor Chase which is their memory care facility. I have to say that after having experienced five different memory care facilities for my own mother who has recently passed away I am very very impressed with Harbor Chase. The food is excellent, the floor staff as I call them who do the day-to-day chores of taking care of the residents is nearly flawless. The executive staff is very friendly and efficient. Everyone I have interacted with has been more than kind and patient. The facility itself is exceptional and is decorated with warm inviting colors and artwork. I have known my mother-in-law since I was 12 and I couldn’t feel any better about where she is under the circumstances. If I had to start over for my own mother this is where she would be. I really do give them high praise and after interviewing eight other local memory care facilities this one tops the list in all areas.

First off I don't think there is a five-star memory care unit anywhere it is a hard job taking care of my mother full-time with my wife we learned how tough it really is. As I stand here and read all these bad reviews I'm a little confused my mother is here for the third time for respite 3 week visits each time they have been very professional. I had my mother an assisted living before the pandemic in Glastonbury in a brand new facility and I'm telling you this place is better I won't mention the name I guess. I don't understand how people are saying that they can escape from memory care I can't even get out of memory care without getting help from the staff it's on complete lockdown 24 hours so I'm starting to wonder if somebody doesn't like somebody and roll bad reviews. They're always doing arts and crafts and they have good food and feed them their proper diet.

As a current resident of Evergreen Walk of almost 2 months I have never felt so welcome. Everyone from management to support staff has been exceptionally pleasant. The food is spectacular, quality is amazing. They actually have a great wine selection! There is a full schedule of activities and events throughout the day to keep me busy. The care staff is incredibly attentive from making my bed to being present when I am showering. There are too many names to mention, but everyone knows your likes and dislikes almost immediately. This was a difficult decision, but I would never have received the same type of care at home. I would highly recommend the community.

My mother and two of her sisters live at Harbor Chase currently. The staff there have been caring, sweet and absolutely wonderful with my family. My mother may not know any of the names of the staff members, but she certainly knows how they make her feel… you can tell by the way she lights up when she sees them or laughs and kids with them that she is well cared for and loved. Every time I’m there, she shows me around and honest to God she should be recorded as she gives me the tour! She tells me how nice everyone is, how beautiful her room is, how good the food is… the list goes on. Reading some of the negative reviews that have been left, I will say this… Harbor Chase opened during a pandemic which transformed our workforce. There isn’t a company that hasn’t had difficulties getting help and Harbor Chase seemed to struggle at the beginning too. But things have leveled out, growing pains seem to be easing and I have not seen my mother smile & laugh this much in many years.

Placed my Dad at Harbor Chase for Assisted Living last fall because that was the only facility with no waiting list. It is a beautiful facility and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have been understaffed since opening last summer. The first two weeks Dad was there no one came to clean his apartment or do his laundry. I was there practically every day asking for someone to do this. It was confusing finding out who was in charge of the housekeeping. Things are getting better now. The nursing staff have been wonderful lately in keeping me informed of any health issues and his apartment and laundry seem to be at the level promised last fall. Dad's only complaint is that they serve too much chicken at meals and not enough variety in meats. Activities and events are very nice.

Harbor Chase is a wonderful facility! I researched many places for my dad and this was most definitely the best in the area. Of course being a brand new facility, there are growing pains, but the Memory Care Unit director is always available to chat and highly receptive to any concerns that might arise. The food is delicious, prepared by a professional chef and the entire staff is awesome and attentive as well. My dad is now healthy and gaining weight thanks to the care he receives daily. Previously at home with aides he was ending up in the hospital every few weeks. I disagree with the earlier post and know that my dad will be well cared for until he joins my sweet mom in eternity.
