Being forced by various life circumstances to leave my home in Evergreen, I was searching for an opportunity to start a new chapter in my life. I found a perfect solution in the Village at Belmar and joined their Independent Living program in early January of 2025. The most important part of my decision was the quality of the staff: always friendly, always helpful, always welcoming -- and always making me feel like a member of an extended family. I have found it healthy for my enjoyment and my mental health to have made so many friends among the residents and the staff in such a short time. Many of the highlights include the spacious common areas, delightful living units, excellent food service and an extraordinary variety of creative onsite and offsite activities. Private garages and terraces are a huge added plus, which I find quite unusual and totally awesome. Overall, among many challenging life events, I feel very fortunate to have truly found the home I was looking for.

Everything at VAB is perfect. The apartment is clean and roomy. Two bedrooms and two baths in all units in Independent Living. The activities that the marvelous activity director puts out each month are always really fun.

Moved my parents into the flats a few months ago. Diego and Erin have been wonderful and very attentive. There were some delays on getting work orders completed and I do understand that there are probably a lot of requests, just wish we'd get a bit more communication on status. We've also experienced quite a few Internet related issues and a couple of power outages (might be more related to the power company). Anyway, mostly a positive experience thus far at Belmar.

Village at Belmar scores highest marks with our family. Mom lived here for 5 years until she passed away recently. Her pretty room with a bay window and a view of the foothills was a place she truly felt was "home". The social activities at VAB were really enjoyed by Mom and the rest of the family, in particular the Friday happy hours with live music. Also, the family meals and holiday events were consistently fun with great food. The nursing staff was very caring and responsive, especially during Mom's final months when she needed so much. The facility is very welcoming, clean, and full of friendly, helpful staff. We especially appreciated the on site physical therapy Mom was able to get. Thanks so much, Village at Belmar!

I rate the village at belmar a good +. All comments I have expressed were received well and acted on. The staff is very friendly and wiling to discuss any problems. I wish the village well in achieveing and staying excellent. My wife are continuing to adapt to the major changes resulting in moving to the village. Thanks for letting me comment.

We’ve had the pleasure of teaching our Senior Boxing and Live Music Wellness Classes at the Villages of Belmar, and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. The residents are engaged, consistent, and bring such great energy to each session. Alexis has been wonderful to work with”organized, supportive, and truly dedicated to resident wellness. What a wonderful community! We spent a lot of time looking for just the right place for my mom after my dad passed away. Village at Belmar keeps everyone busy and active! Mom has made lots of new friends and is close to family, friends, and shopping. Highly recommend this great community!

Diego and his entire team stepped up to ensure mom and dad were quickly at home, together in assisted liviing upon dad's discharge from rehab. This was a very challenging transition as they had been in independent liviing. We chose Village at Belmar due to their tiered care levels, and were so grateful they could stay at the community they have come to care about. The entire staff have been and continue to be so caring, compassionate and supportive. Thank you to the VAB family for taking care of mine.

A friend of mine just moved into assisted-living care on the second floor at the Village at Belmar. I have been there probably five times to help her. In just almost 4 weeks that she’s been there the staff already knows her name; the staff knows what she needs; the staff engages with her happily; and she is extremely happy! You can’t ask for anything more. Every staff member that I have engaged with has been super helpful, friendly, efficient and just simply the nicest people! I wish I knew the names of everyone I have been in contact with, but here is just a few Heather, Brittany, Ashley, Serenity and absolutely everyone of the young servers in the restaurant on the third floor have been more than delightful. I think the owners of the Village, Belmar for hiring such wonderful people.

I worked with the folks at Village at Belmar in connection with both my darling husband and my sweet mother. Though my dealings there only lasted a short time (before losing both my husband and my mama), they were so warm and supportive and I really felt like they cared and were emotionally invested in what they do. After incredibly horrible experiences with other places, it was such a relief to work with responsible people. I highly recommend Village at Belmar for your loved ones.

We helped our mom move to the Village at Belmar last summer during the height of the COVID infections for care facilities. The staff at the Village worked very hard to make the move work under extremely trying conditions. Unfortunately Mom's health was deteriorating and due to a number of life changing events that necessitated her move, her deterioration accelerated, resulting in her death. The staff at the Village, especially nursing and aids were outstanding. Continuous communication and caring, thoughtful attention made the rapidly changing health of Mom and the conditions imposed by the COVID precautions much much easier to handle. Along with the above professionalism and caring of the Village staff, the facilities are very nice. After having looked at a number of places for Mom to live, the value proposition provided by the Village made it an easy choice. If we ever have the need or desire to move to this type of facility the Village will be the first place we turn to.

I am updating my review to 4 stars based on recent changes to the cullinary staff and food provisioner firm which has resulted in immediate improvement to the issues raised by my earlier review. My mom, a resident at Village, is very pleased with the efforts to bring the cullinary service up to the high standards VAB delivers in the overall service levels of the enterprise. Well done, and please keep up the good work. Previous review... I am writing this review as an advocate for my mother who is a charter resident in your assisted living facility. My review is intentionally harsh toward a specific segment of your product, specifically cullinary and food delivery. As a resident at the grand opening mom has kept me aware of operational start up issues which for the most part have been resolved with the exception of food prep and delivery which continues to this day to be disappointment. Mom has sent comment cards multiple times per week on good and poor performance issues but overall food performance as a whole is sub standard. I intend to continue this public forum until preparation and deliver standards of a modest $ resturant are met.

Working in an emergency department, we see a lot of aging persons sent from assisted living facilities when they are struggling. Often times, these facilities try to "dump" more difficult patients into hospitals due to their behaviors instead of showing compassion and problem solving how to provide care in their facility. Today I had the pleasure of working with this facility to make sure the needs of one of their more difficult patients could be met. I found the staff to be compassionate and willing to do whatever it takes to care for their patient. I was truly impressed. This is the first facility to which I would even consider sending a loved one because I am confident they would be appropriately cared for and not turned out into the streets without support like I have seen other facilities do.

As a recent new resident of the Flats at Village of Belmar, we can't recommend the place more for anyone looking to transition from the demands of home ownership. The apartments are beautiful, spacious, and maintenance free. You could not be more at home than with this friendly family community.

I am writing to let you know how appreciative and impressed I am with the professionalism, compassion, and caring attitude demonstrated by the Village at Belmar staff. My parents had the pleasure of living in the assisted living facility for about a month before they both passed away. While they were living and after they passed your marketing, nursing, culinary, life enrichment, and all other staff we interfaced with provided first-class caring and support; support that was sincere and from the heart. My only regret is that my parents didn’t decide to move to the Village at Belmar sooner. In fact, my father told me several times I wish we had moved here a year ago and it took moving a couple of times from other assisted living places, but we got it right this time. Thank you. My mother has been in memory care at the Village at Belmar for three months. It is a new facility. Her room is more like an apartment and feels like a home. The facility is laid out for optimal engagement between residents and staff. The area is bright and includes a courtyard that residents can go and sit outside. The main area is referred to as the living room. It is a gathering place, that includes a large screen television/computer that is used for the many activities. The residents are involved in a variety of activities throughout the day. They include fitness, singing, brain stimulation such as trivia/word games, baking cookies, pet visits, manicures, and documentaries, just to name a few! The residents also go to lunch, picnics, movies, museums, and the zoo. The caregivers are caring and constantly involved with all the residents. They are well educated in memory care and attentive to the unique needs of each person. The leadership is amazing and committed to excellence; from the board of directors, facility director, program director of memory care, and the nursing staff The Village at Belmar goes above and beyond to care for their residents. It is a huge comfort to know that my mother is in such a wonderful community with caring, compassionate staff. The residents are allowed to live their lives as independently as possible in a safe, healthy, loving environment.
