We were very hesitant to ever put our mom in an assisted living. She had also asked us to promise we would never do that. After a series of unfortunate health issues, we transitioned her (temporarily ) in to Sunrise of Santa Monica. It was the best decision we've ever made. It has been changed from temporary to permanent. She is finally happy, living in a community that keeps her feeling cared for and safe. She goes to 'movie night' every single night, exercises more than she has in the last five years and her mental health has not been this good for years. It has allowed us to have the relationship we've all wanted to have with her without the burden because she is finally comfortable. All of the staff there are friendly, it's very clean and lovely. I don't have enough good things to say about it. Sunrise Santa Monica, the facility and it's staff, are outstanding.

We visited almost a dozen facilities before we chose Sunrise of Santa Monica, and three of them were Sunrise facilities. We loved the Sunrise philosophy and approach from the outset, and the facilities themselves were all immaculate, clearly planned for safety and engagement of the residents, and staffed by the most lovely people. We chose Santa Monica for both its location in relation to us and for the "feel" of the place - it felt most like HOME to us. The staff are devoted to their residents - not "just" to their J-o-b-s; it's evident that they have a passion for their COMpassion, and it shows in the demeanor of the residents we met along our tour. Moving in was challenging for a lot of reasons, and the staff did their best to accommodate us - even offering their cell phone numbers in case we needed them. We've only been moved in for a week, but it's clear we made a very good choice!

After touring multiple top rated assisted living communities I settled on Sunrise of Santa Monica. The administration, nurses, concierge and staff are the best! They treat my family member with dignity, professionalism and compassion. I truly trust the care provided by the Sunrise Community and highly recommend them!

If you love your family member, keep away! Corrupt! There is a reason why there is currently a class action lawsuit against sunrise in Southern California. Bottom line of Sunrise is to make money for the corporation. My family member is staying because she is too old to move and she has private caregivers to make sure she eats. Now, with corrupt new leadership, Sunrise increased cost for over $8,000 a month to a monthly payment of $17,000 by lying that increased care was necessary. The fact is there is no increased care and no need for increased care. When I asked about increases, they refused to answer. There are many families of residents who are not advocates for their loved ones and they blindly believe sunrise staff members who might try to make more money for sunrise corp by putting residents in memory care or lying about additional care which might not be needed. Keep away from Sunrise of Santa Monica.

Sunrise of Santa Monica is a beautiful building. The senior friendly amenities make it a safe place to live, and theyre doing a wonderful job with COVID precautions and keeping their residents safe and supported. I would feel comfortable having my parents live here, when the time comes. The staff is top notch – so friendly, patient, and caring.

This place takes the best care of my grandma. So happy she is there and safe during COVID. The staff Facetimes with me all the time and I am grateful to be able to visit her on the patio. These last few months would have been much harder on her if it wasnt for the folks at Sunrise

On behalf of previous resident: My over-all experience at Sunrise Santa Monica was positive and the things I liked the most were: the Location -- nearby to hospitals and doctors, pharmacies, the post office and other essential services. All within walking distance. I appreciated the cleanliness of the Common Areas and the cleaning of the individual suites. Evelyn did an excellent job cleaning. I liked the willingness of the Aides to give assistance with a cheerful attitude, especially Zack, Mimi, Maria, Lise (a meal helper) and Veronica. - S.G.

A beautiful location and hard working staff make this a community worth serious consideration when you are looking for a safe place for a loved one. The Road Home Program for seniors who are transitioning from the hospital is particularly note-worthy. Assisted living, memory care and respite care all are offered.

I Dad entered Sunrise last week and we could NOT BE HAPPIER. Everyone has been so nice and helpful and I am so relieved that he is there. Everyone goes the extra mile for my Dad in so many ways. I cant wait to move in there myself.

We brought our father to Sunrise and have been very happy with the staff. We hope that my father will be able to leave the facility and return home. Sunrise is doing everything it can to make the possible. It is almost impossible to care for people in the state that my father is in. Sunrise is doing a great job and we are happy that we brought my father there.

I think that they could improve on service in the dining room. I think that they need to add some staff too. Honestly, I think they could use a pastry chef or someone that is good at baking. I know it sounds strange, but people like their desserts and they could be better. Overall though, it has been good.

We enjoyed our visit and tour. I look forward to taking my mother there for lunch and to meet some of the residents. The activities looked interesting for her. I had the impression that they would work with us on my father's reluctance to move.
