Our family member has been at Brookdale San Marcos for almost three and a half years with many health issues and needs. Whatever the situation big or small the entire staff steps up doing what it takes to help and care for her. Its been such a difficult year for all. This facility works tirelessly to make sure our loved one is healthy and safe at all times. From laundry and housekeeping to dining staff and cooks to escorts, activities, transportation and receptionists to med management and health services. Ive had interaction with them all. Some a lot more than others. They are fracking awesome!! We live 2 hours away and to know that she has the best care gives us peace of mind. Brookdale director, Mary Ellen has the best facility on the planet! Her leadership shows through all the staff. Thank you to everyone person at Brookdale from the bottom of my heart for the love and respect you give to our special lady. We have mad respect for the jobs yall do every day!! WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!!

My mom suffered a series of small strokes at the end of 2017. She could no longer live alone or drive and so the search for a suitable assisted living facility began. We had set up tours at several facilities in San Diego County. However, after touring Brookdale San Marcos, my mom and I were convinced that this was the place for her. All of the staff and management, from Director Mary Ellen to the admissions and nursing coordinator, were wonderful to deal with. They spent the time evaluating my mom and helping us decide what levels and types of assistance she needed to thrive. Though initially an adjustment for my mom having to leave her own home, she eventually grew to love her one bedroom apartment, met fellow residents and made good friends. She loves the food and the social activities and trips that were part of her day until being curtailed by Covid-19. My mom has had a series of health setbacks since the beginning of the year. As a result, we have had to add some additional care services to help keep her safe and well. Here again, the Brookdale staff have been top notch and very responsive with all our questions and inquiries. I have complete confidence going forward that my moms care is in the best hands at Brookdale San Marcos.

My kids father (otherwise known as my ex husband), Jack, is now at Brookdale San Marcos and I simply must compliment the staff. Mary Ellen (the Executive Director) and Foudhil (the Asst Exec Director) truly care about the residents and go above-and-beyond the call of duty to help them, especially during Covid when everything is so much more complicated. Foudhil was our hero on more than one occasion when we were unable to travel down to help Jack move into rehab after an injury and another time when his phone had to be replaced. Without going into too many details, please believe me when I say that the care Jack receives is extraordinary. To top it off, he loves the food! This was surprising to us because Jack rarely compliments ANYONES cooking. The facility is gorgeous and we appreciate the care he is receiving. I would recommend Brookdale San Marcos to anyone looking for a nice assisted living facility with an emphasis on treating residents with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Brookdale San Marcos was a really good option for our family in the care of our mom. The staff was very helpful and professional as we moved mom in. She was in good care for the 6 months she was a resident. The caregivers and nurses were very caring and paid close personal attention to mom. There are many activities and outings for the residents. The administrative staff was always helpful and friendly. While the transition of a loved one to assisted living can be stressful, the staff at Brookdale helped us through this process professionally.

My sister has lived here for two years now. After living in a mobile home for years she has found what she says is her true home. The people who work here are fantastic. They make sure each and every person who lives here is comfortable and has their needs met. More than that, they treat everyone like family. Her apartment is so nice and she so appreciates the housekeeping. She is having a richer, fuller life here. Brookdale makes sure you do. I actually rate them 4-1/2 STARS.

Somewhere in the Brookdale atmosphere it says I rated my place of employment A 1 star establishment. That rating was for a hotel in Maumee Ohio. NOT Brookdale.

I am happy that my mom moved to this communty to be closer me and she is so active going on outings, swimming, exercising and attending events that it is hard for me and my sisters to get in touch with her. I thought the transition across country would be hard for her but my mom feels really good about the caring staff whose help she needs. I could not be more pleased.
