There are 2 aspects of this facility, the care provided to the residents and the way the residents family is handled. As far as I can tell they do a very good job of providing compassionate and careful care for the residents. Dementia is a difficult condition to handle and the caregivers obviously know their business. The administrative, business and logistical aspects are a very different story. At one point they implemented a new laundry system which resulted in the immediate loss and mix up of every resident's clothing. When we moved my brother out nearly half of his clothes were missing and we had a number of items from other residents. They seem to have ongoing staff changes especially at the management level. The business and administrative director seem unwilling to return phone calls or emails and the front desk concierge appears to take detailed messages but they mostly never get delivered. Resident care is obviously paramount, but when the administrative issues manifest as missed communication and unanswered questions one has to wonder about how well the facility is actually being run.

Very nice place. I’ve been a private caregiver and regular visitor her for 2 years now. The caregivers are very attentive, kind and Wonderful with their residents. I’ve seen how they take care of the residents and they are very hands on. from the receptionist to the cooks, activities and caregivers. Wonderful teams and most of them have been here for years. Highly recommend it.

We moved to MuirWoods memory care a little over 2 months ago. Like all places, there are challenges for memory care and often the emotional as well as physical hardship can make the confusion that accompanies memory loss and cognitive impairment so much harder. I am really pleased with all the staff I encounter. So much effort every day. As our family member's memory continues to weaken they are there to bolster. For privacy I wont list all the staff, but you know who you are and I will continue to thank you when we cross paths.

John is one of the caregivers in Muirwoods and he is excellent. You can really tell he cares for his residents and I would be at ease having my loved ones be cared by him. All the staff are friendly too and treat residents like theyre their loved ones.

She is very kind, friendly and hardworking. She always keeps the resident rooms clean, organized, and smelling fresh. Bathrooms are sanitized well, and floors are mopped and vacuumed regularly. One thing to note is that Lia, tends to speak loudly while working or chatting with staff and residents. While the friendliness is appreciated, sometimes the volume can disturb residents who are resting or sensitive to noise. Overall, I am grateful for Lia dedication and positive attitude ” just a little reminder to keep voices down in resident areas would make the atmosphere even more comfortable for everyone.

Memory care for you loved ones is so very hard, when we finally realized that we could no longer care for Mom, we started looking for a place that could help, we interviewed and once we saw and listened to Sean and staff at Muir Woods we felt like this is a place that could help, it was a tough transition for mom, but the staff was so very patient with her and kept us so informed in every aspect of her daily life, we felt so comfortable, that we had made the right decision with this facility, thank you to everyone at Muir Woods for helping us get the best care to take care of our mom.

MuirWoods has been the perfect place for my mom. Not only is it convenient and centrally located. The care staff are lovely, they are happy and bring a lightness to what are sometimes very challenging situations. The care and attention they give to the residents is personal and very caring. After agonizing over placing one of our parents in a facility that could support their worsening dementia, we chose MuirWoods as the best option for them to be cared for and to make new connections with other people their age. Everyone there has been fantastic, and were very flexible while we navigated the best timing for the move. A lot of thought went into the building design as it has wide hallways for residents to stroll the perimeter with multiple doors allowing residents to go into the courtyard to enjoy the weather on a nice day. Most important asset is their dedicated staff, especially Luis and his kitchen staff as all meals are delicious.

Moving my father into Muir Woods Memory Care six months ago was absolutely the right decision. His condition reached a point at which he needed 24 hour supervision and the whole family struggled with how, when, and where to provide that. Given that he is very active and continuously walking, we chose MWMC primarily for the clever layout and accessibility of outdoor space. I have been very happy with the results. Every time I visit him he is in good spirits and appears content. He makes very good use of the walkable layout. The staff shows an obvious interest in him and his well being. It is difficult to see positive things in the face of this complicated condition, but I feel very good about the move to Muir Woods Memory Care.

We came to Muirwoods during the pandemic. The staff and management team at Muirwoods went above and beyond to help our family navigate the complicated transfer from another residential program that was not the best fit for our loved one. Over the past 18 months, our family has travelled from bear and far. I would like to thank Muir Woods and the wonderful staff for the care they gave my uncle for the last few months of his life. My Uncle Eddie moved into the facility on 3/1/22 and remained there until he passed away on 5/11/22. Lisa and Tracy got things started for me and were so helpful and compassionate every step of the way. I live in upstate NY and traveled back and forth to see my Uncle over the last few months. Upon arriving to see my Uncle I was always greeted so kindly by Tina or Melanie at the front desk. Lupe took the care of my uncles every day health needs and answered all my questions with compassion. Tolu kept me up to date on billing and care. I will always be forever grateful to the staff of Muir Woods for the exceptional care they gave my Uncle Eddie in his time at Muir Woods. They treated me like a long time friend and I will miss the conversations we had during my visits. My father recently passed away. He had severe dementia and was a shell of his former self at the time of his demise. Every time my husband and I visited Adobe House we were impressed by the loving care given to my dad and the other residents. It is hard to watch your loved one lose their personality and ability to perform basic survival tasks, but there are caregivers at Adobe House who soften the hardships and treat your loved one with love and diligence. I recommend this facility for those with loved ones suffering from severe dementia. Visit it first to see for yourself. There is plenty of space for walking and the opportunity for residents to spend time outdoors.
