My name is Donna and my dad Carl is a resident at Woodland Palms. I LOVE ALL THE STAFF AT WOODLAND PALMS. My dad is well taken care of and everyone is so kind to him. It feels like family and that is important.

Want to visit. They say appt. Is necessary. However no one answers the phone! Won't allow her to call me now! They keep changing the rules. Dinners are cold. So someone needs to inspect them. I'm calling Channel 4 TV & the BBB.

My wifes parents joined Woodlands a couple of months ago. After everything, it has been the best decision we could have made.As adults, mom and dad made their own choices, even when they seemed like bad ones and we just had to watch, hope and pray to God it went their way. And sometimes it did. These last couple of years though, its been a continuous downhill slide that we could only watch. Injuries, sickness and bad luck with an escalating cockroach problem (yuck)..., led us down a dark road towards an inevitable sad end. But its mom and dad, right? Its their lives to live and theyve earned that respect to decide what they want. Then old ages memory, vision and physical problems took center stage and it just got dangerous. If we hadnt stepped in and thats no easy thing to do, well - theyd almost certainly be gone now and thats scary to think about. At the end of the day, a man only has his word.We had to break that No. We wont put you in a home. promise just to keep them alive. So look, look, look around. Meet strangers in different places. Review choices and check them off the list... it went on and onThen we picked Woodlands. And it hasnt been easy. New food. Structured environment. Locked gates. New people all around and other residents with their own memory problems. Lots of fear. Didnt know what questions to ask. Meds to schedule, some w- and others without food. Complicated.TONS of paperwork at the beginning and more. They are at the mercy of staff so you hope theyve been vetted properly and all are good people, down to the very last onePlus, we both have full time jobs that start with a two am alarm and have kids at home. It all just takes time. The road has been bumpy. We had to buy new furniture, all of it and had to get it there. Ouch. And mom or dad forget and tell you about no lunch or meds so you call angry, forgetting its a memory care facility and find out that they are just confused. Its not good or bad, theres noone to blame and who doesnt want a villain? But it gets sorted out, everybody apologizes and all are in love again and staff were great throughout. The staff is in a difficult spot because of that and still manage to smile and be polite to everyone every time we go and its been (3-5) times a weekIve never seen them angry and itd be easy with frustrations around every corner and we all know hard feelings can accumulateWe all want it our own way and in our rush to fix mom or dads mistreatment or problem, real or not... well, we can forget that the staff are people too. And when its their own, they have faced, owned and corrected every problem or concern that weve had and all in a timely wayDespite the rough early weeks with resistance, fear and anger at every turn, staff missteps, incorrect staff titles w-o supporting credentials (big deal, that one and it got sorted out fast), unsecure med controls (another whopper thats come under scrutiny and been addressed), from the top down things are confronted and fixed. FastMom and dad really like it here. The food is great, everybody eats what they want and theres plenty of it. Its super clean and odorless, staff is usually busy but never far away or too busy to help with anything. With kindness and sweet redirecting, they help us leave when mom is determined to go with us. Activities are fun and the activity director obviously loves her job, you see it in her easy smile and caring way. Plus theres a young guitar player that rocks the place pretty frequently. Overall and without exception, staff and residents are just plain nice. Now we can sleep through the night again, confident that mom and dad are safe, well fed and happyFinally.

I am not sure what the person below me is talking about cause my father lives there and it is a wonderful place. There were a few bad seeds running the place down but Joey has changed that around. I visit him a few times a week and the place is always clean and the team is always nice. Any concerns get fixed right away. Sucks that hateful people try to kick people down. Like the hateful person below...you moved your people out...move on!

The staff that was there before Joey got there was horrible but she has made terrific changes and things have turned around. I wouldnt let hateful people turn you away. Go and see for yourself. My mother lives there and has lived there for over a year. The old staff was down right horrible but they are gone and the new staff is amazing. A big difference and all within the last few weeks. Go Joey and the woodland palms staff!

My Mom has been a resident here for over 2 years now, the place has gone through some changes recently. It was OK before, but there new administrator Joey is really getting the facility and staff in order and all for the better. There is always activities going on for their residents, the courtyard is beautiful and very well kept up. My mom loves it here and all the residents seem very happy, The place is obviously going through some growing pains but dont let any of the naahh sayers cloud your own judgement. This place is top notch and reasonably priced. They take great care of there residents.
