I have visited this community several times for holiday parties. There is always a feeling of warmth and happiness from the moment that I walk through the front door. We enjoyed our tour of this community. Lori was very knowledgable about the community as well as retirement communities in general in Tucson. She informed us about opportunities for veterans, like my husband. The residents were friendly and the amenities were excellent. We especially liked the casitas.

Some service requests are not acted on promptly. Some require significant resident follow-up. Furniture in the common areas of the building needs repair, reupholstery or replacement. If the dining experience is important to you, I suggest evening (4:30-6:00) dining room visits on weekdays and weekends. Visit with residents question them regarding food quality and service Staff does a good job coordinating many activities for residents. Most residents are friendly and will go out of their way to help you fit in.

Laurie was very friendly, informative, kind, generous with her time and thoughtful to invite us to a delicious meal! We appreciated the kindness of Fran- who so graciously opened her casita to allow us to view the model. We loved the concept of the living arrangements from independent living and all the steps that could follow. Beautiful facility, many activities, and experienced how Laurie and all associates treat people with dignity and respect. Would love to live there. Thank you Laurie- you are the best!!

My husband and I moved here 7 months ago and are pleasantly pleased with the staff and the many services they provide. From dining to housekeeping or maintenance you always meet someone with a smile on their face. We can't say enough about the Director, Joe Brown! He makes a point of knowing everyone on a first name basis and joins in on the activities. He goes out of his way to make you feel at home.
May 2022
I have been here 6 1/2 years and I feel very blessed to be here. All the servants and residents are all wonderful.
May 2022
This is all you could hope for in the way of an independent and assisted living facility . After living here for 8 years I wish I would have moved in 2 years sooner. The staff and management is superb. Activities and entertainment are more than you could ever hope for. We are one happy family. Come join us soon. You will not regret it.
February 2022
What a comfortable place for aging family. We toured with Kaylee (move in coordinator) and Joe (executive director) and everyone knew them and they knew everyone by name. The residents were always out and about and genuinely happy. The common areas were amazing: billiards, fire places, library, reading areas, happy hour bar, pool, shuffleboard, game rooms, etc., lots of activities and participation and a warm and welcoming feeling. We even came back for a second tour with Eric's Mom on very short notice and were given the grand tour including several units. A great place to call home when home isn't the best option anymore. February 2022
I moved here three years ago from the midwest. I chose Country Club due to the closeness of my children here in Tucson. It was the best decision of my retired life. The residents and staff here are so friendly and caring. We all feel like we are living and not just existing. I have made so many friends here, and there are more activities than there is time to do them. The weeks fly by so quickly as I am enjoying being here. I have looked at other retirement communities in the area, but Country Club is the very best in every aspect.
February 2022
I am posting on behalf of my parents who recently moved from Sarasota to the CCLC. Their apartment is lovely and the patio is wonderful. Having such a beautiful outdoor space is a gift! The grounds are so well maintained with lots of shaded spaces to sit and relax. The staff was very helpful in providing advice regarding how to access medical referrals, where to shop , how to integrate into a new home. We have dinner with them weekly and the food is very good. The activities are varied and the entertainment for Friday Happy Hour is great. When searching for their new home, we visited 7 communities in the NorthWest area and this one by far outperformed the others. Staff retention and friendliness is key to providing the stability needed for older people to feel comfortable. Overall a great place for Mom and Dad.
February 2022
I am a former employee, and I love The Country Club of La Cholla so much, I moved my grandma there! She loved all the friends she made, the bridge club her neighbor created, the coffee and conversations with the residents and staff, the pool exercise, and I loved that she'd ignore me to be with her friends!! The Country Club of La Cholla truly brings out the happiness in our seniors!! I would recommend this as a workplace, and a place for mom and dad!
December 2021
Visited my mother-in-lawn yesterday for the Christmas dinner buffet. I was very impressed! The meal was amazing and the staff was incredibly friendly. I really appreciate the COVID precautions the staff took to keep everyone safe. Thank you, everyone at The Country Club of La Cholla!
November 2021
No place is perfect but the Country Club is mighty close. The staff here is friendly and responsive and the Executive Director has an open door policy, is very involved with residents, and participates in all the special events. Activities are plentiful and the residents are friendly, welcoming, and come from varied and interesting backgrounds. The apartments are spacious and you are encouraged to "make them your own." Three meals per day offer a wide variety of delicious food, as well as a place to meet and greet old and new friends. Add to this, weekly housekeeping and laundry, transportation, beautiful grounds and spacious living space and you're here at the Country Club of La Cholla!
December 2020
Country Club at La Cholla has achieved what many Senior communities strive for. I have been in the Senior housing industry for 25 years and it is very rare to tour a community where every staff member and resident we encountered wanted to tell us about how much they love working or living at The Country Club. Many smiles, lots of laughter and a beautiful community! Congratulations to the management and team members for creating such a happy environment for all.
October 2020
My wife, Merlyne, has worked there for almost 3 years. There have been many occasions where our children and I have visited, especially for holidays or special events (pre-pandemic). Each time we have gone, we have had a blast. We have gotten to meet many amazing residents and employees. I can see the people working, including Merlyne, have a passion for making sure the residents are taken care of and enjoy their stay at The Country Club La Cholla.n regards to the community itself, the buildings are well maintained and clean. The pool and landscaping are immaculate. The apartments are clean and kept clean by a talented, focused group of people.
October 2020
I often volunteer at the Country Club of La Cholla but have not been able to recently due to the pandemic. I believe they are more than deserving of a fantastic review for what they have done for their residents before and during the virus situation. Every staff member goes out of their way to make sure their residents are safe, healthy, and happy. Not to mention the establishment is incredibly nice and accessible. Every time I walk in I cant help but think I wish I could live here, they have everything you could need!
October 2020
I moved here in 2013 and never regretted this home one day. Come to this warm and dry heat part of the last state in the 48 and give it a try. I will personally give you a tour. I am a 95 year young man who has been in every state in the 48 as well as WW2 in the Gilbert Island for 6 months.
October 2020
I am a retired Navy CAPT. I left active duty to come and take care of my Dad, a former AF Fighter pilot, Vietnam POW for 7 years, and the toughest man I know. I lived with him for 2 years, and he was bound and determined to NEVER leave his house here in Tucson (Tucson National Golf Course Estates) after losing my mom. I never thought I would be able to get him in to an assisted living center... ever. He is 90, an extremely proud man...and yes, stubborn as a mule.Crystal Suszek changed all that, and in the process gave me my life back so I could remarry and not feel guilty for leaving my hero Dad. And yes, I would still live in Oro Valley!,...but it did not matter...he did not want to be alone.Crystal made the transition so graceful and easy. He literally walked out of the place after being in his shopping mode for the perfect assisted living center,...and I thought we would have to hit all the places I put on the list...and in the END, he would probably NEVER make a decision. After experiencing the absolute most pleasant, informative, and MOST IMPORTANTLY...personal, caring and tender time with Crystal and touring the facility..boom!...it was done. He had found his home. I could not have asked for a more blessed experience than Crystal gave us....gave me. I was so worried and anxious about this entire process...ugh.I know the good Lord had a strong hand in this...and brought Crystal into my world. I so look forward to getting to know not only Crystal better,...but the entire wonderful staff (and residents) that greeted usGod does answer prayers...
September 2020
About a year ago my wife and I started seriously talking about down sizing and moving to a retirement community. We visited four of them on the NW side of town. After doing so, we decided to live at The County Club of La Cholla. I believe it is a decision we will never regret. Because we have a dog, we chose to live in one of the casitas. It has two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen with all of the appliances, including a washer and dryer. The living room is a nice size. It also has a patio and yard that our dog loves. The unit is 1100 sq ft and we were able to bring nearly all of our furnishings. We eat our breakfast and dinner in the dining room at the main building. The chef prepared food is excellent, with your choice of two entrees and many side dishes to pick from. The menu is extensive.Without a house to maintain and no meals to prepare. we have plenty of time to enjoy shuffleboard games, bingo, water aerobics, billiards, exercise classes and visits with the many friends we have made here. I should mention what is included in your rent: all of your meals; electric; gas; and tv. In addition to all of this, a housekeeper comes once a week to clean your home and even changes your bed for you. Its like being on vacation all of the time. The most important thing I must tell you is that you will feel completely safe here. During this Covid 19 pandemic, our amazing executive director, Joe Brown, has shown us all how to remain healthy. Some of the other facilities in the area, like ours, have not been so lucky. We have not had one case of Covid and there are 250 residents living her. My son is a physician and he is very pleased about how well we are taken care of. Joe and all of his staff treat us like family. We are here for good!
September 2020
We moved into a Casita in October 2019. The two bedroom, two bath, 1100 sq ft unit with fireplace, full kitchen, double patio and private back yard is ideal. We have planted lots of flowers and enjoy humming birds and finches at our feeders. A short walk to the Club House gives access to dining rooms, card room, pool room, lounge, ball room, exercise room, library, chapel, crafts and hair solon. An outdoor pool with spacious court yard for exercise and relaxing is enjoyed by many. We are always greeting each other when we pass and slowly learn the names of many. Happy Hour on Fridays as well as many organized activities daily makes socializing easy. Joe Brown our Executive Director is constantly on the prowl meeting most residents by first name and always wants to make sure we are happy. Our staff directors make sure their services meet all our expectations. We enjoy having wine with other residents as we visit each other. This Senior Living Community is thirty years old with mature trees and landscaping offering 217 independent and assisted care living units. We visited or reviewed plans for nine senior living communities around our Oro Valley home before choosing Country Club of La Cholla and we are so happy we are here.
September 2020
It has been my pleasure to have worked for The Country Club of La Cholla for 6 years now in Life Enrichment. We enjoy offering a variety of many fun activities and fitness classes to keep our residents happy, healthy and engaged !!! Again it is my sincere pleasure to serve the residents of The Country Club of La Cholla.
September 2020
I think it is important to let people know how wonderful The Country Club of La Cholla is. My friend has lived there for a number of years. Although I cannot visit her due to the COVID virus, she tells me how safe she is. She is keeping busy with many inside actvities. She tells me that they take her temperature every day and deliver food to her room when they check on her. I am glad she is safe and I thank The Country Club of La Cholla for taking very good care of her during these difficult times. God Bless all of you.
July 2020
I cant express enough positiveness about this residence. My grandmother has been happy since the day she moved in. Its clean and beautiful and shes made a wonderful life there. Sadly when this pandemic hit, we all became nervous. Elderly residences were a number one target as they repeatedly stressed . Joe Brown is outstanding in his continued hard work and meticulous efforts to keep all of these lovely people, including my wonderful grandmother, safe and protected during such difficult times. These are untrusting times but hearing my grandmother and how pleased and safe she feels with the way they have handled and care for an entire Country Club, you cant help but be trusting and pleased. Its when times are tough you see who really stands by you. When brighter days come and all of this has dissipated, I look forward to being there with her and enjoying such a wonderful place and such a fantastic community.
July 2020
A few years ago my mother sold her house and wanted to live independently in a retirement community. The Country Club of La Cholla had many of the features that she was looking for. Mom made the decision this is where she wanted to live. This past year, the Director Joe Brown, implemented a new medical safety feature that all residents are offered to wear. It is a medical alert Pendant. This was to do away with the old nail on the door check system previously used. Joe had opposition from many residents but he forged forward with this medical alert Pendant. The end of May, my mother broke her hip and fell to the floor in her apartment. She hit her head which caused bleeding, suffered a concussion and was knocked unconscious for a short period of time. She was unable to get to her phone to call for help but she was wearing her Pendant and pushed the call button on it. Within minutes The Country Club of La Cholla staff came to her apartment, assessed her situation and emergency help was summoned. If the old nail on the door check system had still been in effect and the Pendant not implemented, I wonder how long my mother may have laid on the floor unable to get anyones attention to help her!Hopefully, no one has to use this Pendant for an emergency but in my mothers case, Im so thankful for this very important medical safety feature The Country Club of La Cholla offers their residents. My mother has even expressed how this emergency use of the Pendant has made a believer out of her and she doesnt know what she would have done without it!Note: My mother is recovering nicely from surgery and hours of therapy and back living independently in her apartment at The Country Club of La Cholla at 94 years of age and she wears her Pendant at all times!!
July 2020
We have lived here a number of years and up until February 2020 it was just a place to live. Well that changed when a man came rushing thru the door of the ballroom. My first thought was OMG what is he going to try to sell us. He introduced himself and said his door will always be open. Well it is open and I often stick my had in and make some off the wall comment.IT IS NOW HOME and give Joe Brown TOTAL CREDIT!!!
July 2020
I have been a vendor for The Country Club for over five years and I always here the good and the bad about the service at the Country Club and I must say since Joe has been here the residents have a lot of great things to say. The residents seem to also have great things to say about the staff. During the pandemic some residents have even been given a free hand in decorating their patios and this has made the residents very happy and has given them something to do during this trying time.
March 2020
Lionel and team are amazing. This community definitely does the right thing for the resident. If they will thrive and enjoy how active the community is, they will love the many years left at Country Club of La Cholla. If they are not a fit, this team knows which community would be most appropriate and are not afraid to give you honesty. Lionel and Joan are two absolutely amazing individuals and well respected in the Tucson community.
November 2019
A nice place to be little pricey though but who says good cares is free

My grandmother had a casita here for several years and had a wonderful experience. The environment is beautiful, quiet, professionally landscaped and clean. Her house was updated, the clubhouse and amenities were top notch and she had a wonderful experience.Loved that someone came and checked on her daily, and she could bring food from the restaurant back to her place.

The Country Club of La Cholla is a wonderful place when you retire. The people are very friendly and helpful. All my questions were answered in timely matter. The food here is very good too. The Club also offers a variety of things to do. The play cards, they have pool and exercise classes, ballroom dancing and many more things to do to keep you busy. They also provide transportation for shopping, going to a variety events like dinner, breakfast, the movies once a month and many more activities to keep you entertained. The people here and the workers are very friendly too. This is a place where you find yourself just enjoying life and doing the things you like to enjoy.

You dont get to be a senior citizen without knowing that five stars for senior living doesnt exist. But, its hard to beat the four, shining-stars weve given Country Club of La Cholla. Changing life-styles is a difficult decision. We knew that most folks waited until an illness or loss of partner before considering a move. We decided to make the change while healthyIt starts at the top doesnt it? On our tour here, sincere greetings were extended by housekeepers to waitstaff and reception to management. Obviously, it was a team of valued members. And as for residents, they smiled at us through the halls, greeted us in the dining rooms, and one stopped to say, Choose us; you wont be sorry! Another laughed, If youre bored here, its your own fault.Art, lectures, church-options, stores and medical transportation, live music, crafts, weekly cocktail hours, opportunities to make sandwiches for the poor, special trips to places like Tubac, the Zoo, specialty restaurants and so much more, are simply the norms, at Country Club of La Cholla.Five weeks as residents, were adjusting to living and dining here. Were learning the ropes and meeting folks. Were grateful that people are as welcoming as wed thought theyd be. We feel that life here will complement and assist us, as we play and age together.
March 2018
I just completed my first year here--was recommended by good friend whose mother lived here for some time and really loved this place. My first impression here was the friendly, happy, smiling people--from the staff to the residents (for the most part anyway--just cant please everyone it seems)Many, many activities, parties, music, transportation provided to medical appts., trips to most stores for shopping, happy hours, meals provided, housekeeping, laundry service, pool, exercises classes, card clubs, bingo, great library, etc. etc.--all in all if you are bored here, you probably arent trying hard enough.Cat, Joanie and their adorable, fun-loving staff are fantastic! Never a dull moment with them--one of them was cooking pancakes for all this AM.All in all, I am very happy to have sold my house after my husband of 61 years died--and moved here. It is a warm welcoming community of people--there is the choice of Casitas, Independent Living apartments or Assisted Living Apartments. Carefree Living is wonderful!
December 2016
I am pleased to recommend The Country Club of La Cholla. In my profession, I am frequently asked about the different senior communities and having viewed several, I can say the amenities and services here are extensive, the grounds well manicured and the location is within range of many medical facilities. They have an organized schedule of events, clean facilities and most of all the staff is patient, compassionate and help newcomers with the transition of moving to their new home. I have several clients who live here and all have been pleased with their decision. I encourage a visit to see for yourself.
December 2016
I have a very personal experience and favorable opinion of this community. My mother had been living in another community in Phoenix, and she along with my wife and I both agreed she should be closer to us in Tucson. We toured quite a few places, and chose The Country Club of La Cholla for many reasons. From the moment we arrived on our first visit, I remember my mother saying I really feel at home here. The residents are so friendly, the people on staff are always asking how they can help serve you, there are so many activities that I enjoy being involved in, and the food is great. As her son who was concerned in making the right choice for my mothers safe and secure future, The Country Club of La Cholla was definitely the correct decision to make. I highly recommend you consider this amazing senior community for your loved ones as I did, or yourself if it is your time to move.
May 2016
Wonderful place! I was looking for an independent living, community-like location for my brother. I fell in love with The Country Club when I visited it. The director of marketing and sales is very engaging and professional. Every staff member I saw seemed happy to interact with residents. My brother needs some social stimulation and he just now moved in. I live in Virginia and I was concerned about the move and getting him set up, since none of his family could be there for that time. But the move went very well and the staff is helping him get settled and oriented. On the phone, he sounded very happy to be here. Im also glad he will be eating well, because he seldom ate much where he had been living. And the food is exquisite! Hes also really looking forward to learning some computer activities. He will keep working part time at a store in the Foothills Mall, which is only a short drive from here. This is a great place for him. In fact, I wouldnt mind living there myself.
April 2016
As a professional senior referral agent, I have the opportunity to visit and advise clients about numerous communities in Pima County. The Country Club of La Cholla never disappoints me or my clients. Be assured that all quality communities will impress during an initial visit. Country Club definitely delivers after the fact. They have a no-pressure, straight forward, and sincere approach to counseling seniors on finding the right place to enjoy their retirement years. Residents I have placed here reflect a positive and genuine pleasure about their decision.
January 2016
My husband and I both took my mom on separate tours. Of the 5 retirement communities we all toured this was the most attractive. There was no push to become a resident. Instead, the emphasis was on my moms needs, expectations, and desires. Its a beautiful site with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent administration.
