Reviews Mountain View Retirement Village
August 2026
My mother was at MVRV for 6-months, and I am still in awe at the respect, care, and support each employee showed to us during her stay. It was a comfortable, happy environment, the staff was readily available, and we always felt welecomed. During her time at MTRV my mother recovered enough to return to independent living! She acknowledges that her recovery success would not have been possible without the care and support she received from MVRV team. Our entire family is grateful.

The support staff that we worked with, the Medical Technicians, the Front Desk, and the Dining Room staff were staff were incredible, they were always helpful, always friendly and always very kind, regardless of what pressures they were managing. As a whole, MTRV put the residents first, that is the always the main focus and priority, and an experience I am appreciative of.

I own Assisted Living Locators here in Tucson, and I have toured and placed residents at Mountain View Retirement Village many times. I’ve also attended several events hosted there, and I truly love the feel of the community. It has such a comfortable, warm, and homey atmosphere that families immediately notice when they walk in. Two of my favorites to work with are Angela V. and Nicole G. They make the touring and placement process so easy, and they do an excellent job keeping both myself and the families updated throughout the entire move-in process. Their communication and care really stand out. The pricing at Mountain View Retirement Village is very competitive, and the rooms are wonderful. They offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, which gives families great options as needs change over time. Residents can choose from studios, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments ” and they even have large apartments with fireplaces! One of the things I love most about the community is all the little touches that make it feel like home. There are small libraries in every hallway, puzzles throughout the community, and a full activities schedule packed with engaging things to do. In fact, that was one of the main reasons my last client chose to move there ” she was so excited about all the activities and opportunities to stay involved and social. Mountain View Retirement Village is truly a welcoming and vibrant community, and I always enjoy working with them.

I wish I had taken a picture of the amazing food I ate while visiting this facility. I was touring and the amazing young lady that is the director, Brandy, invited me to lunch. Very nice, experience. When I walked into the building it was clean. I was greeted by staff and residents. All seemed happy and content. They all bragged how Brandy was working hard to make the facility a great place to live.

Was visiting a friend and had an opportunity to have lunch. The service was amazing, and the chicken quesadilla was one of the best I've ever had! Also had the opportunity to meet the facility director, Brandy. She was super nice and helpful, gave us a tour, and all of the residents really seemed to like her.

I had lunch at Mountain View Retirement Village while visiting. The waiter was very attentive and funny. The menu was great and my salad was delicious. I took a tour of the facility and there were so many things to do, plus planned activities. It was very clean and comfortable. The executive director seems to really care about the residents and their wellbeing., as well as the property itself.

Things are changing for the better since Brandi took over the manager position! She had cleaned out the storerooms and tidied the hallways. Brandi has made an effort to get to know everyone! We are moving but now I wish we could stay!! Jerri and Ron

Being in healthcare can give you a unique perspective. When my aunt's dementia advanced to the point she needed round-the-clock care, I can say the staff there cared for her as if she was their own family. I don't believe that can be said about many long-term care solutions in the market today. I will be eternally grateful for them and the dependable, gentle, patient care they provided when she needed it most.
October 2025
All employees are very friendly and helpful. The only concern is that the medical instructions are not followed 100%. Need to meet with Wellness Director to align this.

I just moved my mother into the Mountain View retirement community. She was at another independent facility that did not treat her as she deserved. Since the second she moved into Mountain View, she was treated like gold. The caregivers who work there, the people who live there, and the amazing activities they offer have made her feel like she has found a true home. We worked with Nicole, the family advisor, and she did everything in her power to make the transition from independent to assisted living for my mother easy as possible. Nicole, we are indebted to you. I’ve never dealt with such kindness, compassion and willingness to go the extra mile for my mom and our family as I have here at Mountain View. We were also welcomed by Julie, who works directly with Nicole, and she has embraced my mother as if she was her own mom. We are so happy that our mother is safe, cared for and now, for the first time in a long time, full of possibility! Thank you to the entire staff of Mountain View. You guys are rock stars! I recommend this location for anyone who wants their mother to be held in love.

In looking at several assisted living places in Tucson, Mountain View outshone them all. The view, the staff, the rooms, the facilities, all of it was extremely nice. My mom is actually looking forward to moving in. They have done an outstanding job of coordinating with my mother's long term insurance and with the rehab facility is in right now. This will be a very smooth transition.

Our mother Margaret has been a resident at Mountain View Retirement Village since 2015. We are highly satisfied with them. They got their residents safely through the challenges of Covid and the increasing challenges of inflation and rising costs while keeping the amenities what the residents are used to. Food is traditionally the thing residents will tend to complain about but the dinning flexibility has (except for during Covid) been something that spoils us. Love the staff.
April 2024
Kind and helpful staff. Very good food and dinning experience.

Mountain View Retirement Village is hands-down one of the prettiest assisted living communities in town! Every time I have visited, the building is clean and the residents are happy. I definitely recommend taking a tour and meeting the awesome care staff! Caylor in Marketing is such a joy to work with! His commitment to the well-being of the residents is felt throughout the community.

Great communication from staff! Good food and lots of activities!

Do not send your family member here. I repeat, do not send your family members here. Eric Shields, the Wellness Director, and the mother of his child, Angelica Quezada, the shift lead of caregivers at Mountain View Retirement Village will make your family member sit in their own urine and poop for hours if not days, they will complain about the residents, they will complain about how annoying the residents are and how much they smell like urine and poop. Anytime the Wellness Director is faced with the truth he will lie and say that it is not true or make excuses for him or his caregivers. The Wellness Director will call you, the family member, of the resident staying at this facility and will lie to you about the treatment that your family member is receiving. In order for his caregivers to not look bad Eric Shields, the Wellness Director, will call YOU, the family member of the resident, to blame and complain about the resident for “not taking care of themselves” when it is the duty of the caregiver to look after these residents. Eric Shields wants to make his caregivers look like they are the best when really they are not doing the job of a caregiver. When you drop off your family member at this retirement center the Wellness Director will make your family member look and think that they are hallucinating. One time a resident came into complain about how she wasn’t receiving her showers and the Wellness Director told the resident that she was hallucinating and that she did get her shower, even though she never received it. Your family member will not be treated correctly, they will be mistreated by the shift lead of caregivers and wellness director and they will not be given their medication on time or at all. The Wellness Director, Eric Shields, will stop at nothing to defend the mother of his child, the shift lead of caregivers. The shift lead caregiver is on drugs and the wellness Director, the executive Director, and the owner of the company, know and do nothing about it. When you send your family to this location you are sending them here to die. In the memory care unit a woman died because they refused to give her water. She was begging for water and none of the caregivers, except for one, wanted to give her water, they had to give her water through a sponge. Then the resident started begging housekeepers for water. The housekeepers are the ones doing the jobs for the caregivers. The Wellness Director is a manipulative, gaslighting, harassing racist who sexually assaults women he works with and continuously “dips his pen in company ink”. The Wellness Director will also make statements like ”why do the housekeepers want to be a caregivers they can’t even speak English” (all the housekeepers know English and the housekeeper speak English to the residents). If you hate your family member, I suggest you send them here. If you love your family member I suggest you send them somewhere else.

March 2020
We flew to Tucson with aging parents to tour several facilities- my father has dementia and my mom did not want to move even though the upkeep for a house has become impossible- I thought one facility would be great- but turned out not to be the case- handicapped parking was limited and was way too far to walk to rooms- we toured a 2nd facility still under construction - it was nice but was in an office park like setting- not as homey for residential living - all housing was 1 floor up requiring elevator to go to unit- not ideal. Then we toured Mountain View Retirement Village and it was like Goldilocks- it was AMAZING! The facility was established so has beautiful mature landscaping but it's not so old that it's in constant need of updating. Whoever designed the complex did an outstanding job- when you pull up the portico overhang is 3 car lengths wide- allowing for shade for loved ones and plenty of room to pick your person up even if the MV shuttle is there- it's not a tight space- I have not seen such a wide covering at any facility - also- there are FOUR handicapped parking spots right at the front and TWO more immediately to the side of those- this is a number one factor for mobility challenged people- then as you enter the building there is covered seating outside- an intimate living room inside for socializing- beautiful full glass views of some desert landscaping right outside and the gorgeous mountain range in the distance unobstructed- the main entrance also serves as the main hub with both the assisted living wing and the independent living wing both coming together there- the mail room is there- an open staircase/elevators leading to an upper floor with inside/outside views of the mountains- tables/chairs for socializing- Kirsten showed us several rooms and then we saw a ground floor unit 1000 square feet with a patio and SIX windows- my mom who is very stubborn and did not want to move put money down on the unit the same day! I couldn't believe it. That's how great Mountain View is and this unit. There are beautiful mature Mesquite trees offering shade and gorgeous filtered light- the ground floor unit is perfect for my parents who both need walkers and having a patio is really nice for those coming from having a house and yard making the transition much easier. The services that come included with the monthly plans are wonderful- my parents will be in independent to start off- it includes two meals, house cleaning, bedding/towels every other week, shuttle, all amenities and activities- my parents need so much help with everything now- they will have safety, security, access to resources not possible when living in a private home, and much better medical care in Tucson than where they live now in a more rural area. Also which is incredible- as my dad's dementia continues to progress Mountain View is beginning to offer memory care and have said my mom could move in with my dad into the memory care side but only have to pay the independent living fee for herself so they can be together - not have to pay for two units and so can contain the costs. I have never heard of a non memory person being able to live in a memory unit with their loved one- just wonderful. And what can I say about Kirsten? We love her! My mom has had a million questions- will it be noisy (no buildings are solid concrete)- will there be an increase- (possibly about 3% every year but not every year)- is there a size limit to dogs living with you (amazingly no! ok to bring larger family dog)- Kirsten has been so patient with every question, so fast to respond- we've needed so much help with this huge out of state move for my parents- everything is harder when people get older- Kirsten has been with us every step of navigating this journey- she is so professional - great at what she does and a lot of fun. She is like family now and we will be forever thankful for her and Mountain View for making this complex move much easier and positive

Mountain View Retirement Village has been such a blessing for my elderly mother. She and I are so happy with the care and services she is receiving. The staff (especially Lorell O’dell and Eric the head of healthcare) are motivated exceptional caring people. The staff are hardworking professionals from top to bottom. My mother is very pleased with how well she is being cared for at MVRV and so am I.

One of my closest friends is getting close to making the transition to assisted living. I brought him to Mt View to meet with Rebecca West, and sat in on the initial meeting. I was blown away by the compassion and caring she demonstrated. He was too.....When he is ready, Mt View will have a new resident. Now I recommend Mt View to all the professionals I know who work with Seniors in transition....It's a great option!

Mountain View is one of the very best retirement communities in Tucson. The residents there are bright, cheerful, energetic and just beam with enthusiasm for living there. Food was amazing! The kitchen staff really knows what they are doing back there and present a fantastic meal. From our first tour all the way to the end, Mountain View gave us a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

As a Home Health Physical Therapist, I have the opportunity to visit many retirement centers in and around the greater Tucson area. I have been coming to Mountain View to treat patients for home health therapy since 2002. I have always been impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the facility. Even more so, I was very impressed by the residents, staff and caregivers whom I came into contact with. From my perspective, the residents are treated with the greatest of respect and dignity. The caregivers are outstanding. They not only assist in the resident's daily needs, but are also involved in following up with exercise programs I have recommended once therapy has concluded. This is a great facility!

This is a very large community with lots of access points. The lobby was huge and very well lit. There were numerous sidewalks around the building where you can take a walk. Beautiful landscaping throughout. The apartments were the biggest I have seen in town! Very spacious layouts. Many different common areas in the community where I noticed residents visiting. Beautifully well lit Atrium's that are a must to go see. The community is pretty well established and they're doing a great job.
