We had a tour of the Cottages 2 days after Christmas. Alexandria, our tour guide, greeted us promptly at our tour time. She was knowledgeable and spent a long time answering all of our questions. The campus looked beautiful with all the fall colors. We toured 2 of the cottages and saw residents engaged in activities at both. All of the staff greeted us as we walked through. One of the residents allowed us to tour her room as the Cottages are currently fully booked. The room we visited was a private, not shared room. Although small, it was a nice room with a view of the courtyard. The campus is fully enclosed with fencing with secure / locked gates. The residents and staff all looked happy.

The staff seem nice at this place and it is very clean. I really did not like the director Erin. She was very a rude person, from our first meeting she was heartless and treated me like I had done something wrong. My family is going through a lot and Erins behavior just made it harder. Everyone else was wonderful and kind. Erin made the experience harder than it needed to be. Wasn’t helpful or kind. Edited after their response: Right I definitely agree it’s not possible to get along with everyone but as someone with customer service experience Erin did not exercise her ability to show her customer service. There was no reason for her to treat customers the way she did. I don’t need her to like me but I do expect her to have some respect and act accordingly in being respectful. Her rude behavior was not called for and she needs to keep her negativity at the door when dealing with customers. I shouldn’t have to experience her bad mood just because not everyone can get along.

There are a lot of good things to share about Pacifica Peoria. It took going through a horrible experience (Brookdale) to appreciate when things go right. My sister was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at 64 - so it made it more difficult to find the right place. We thought she'd have many years left, and we agonized over the decision. I like the cottage setup and how residents could go outside often. I'd like to give a special mention about Steve Garon, he was one of our contacts who facilitated our weekly Zoom calls. He was always helpful and professional. It was nice having that contact each week with my sister. He would tell us about the animals who came to visit (mini horses, dogs, bunnies, turtles, etc) and other activities. Unfortunately, my sister died last month. She was treated with the utmost care at the end. Years ago, when my mom died in the hospital, I had to track down a nurse to help with pain management. We didn't have that issue at Pacifica - we'd push a button and someone would come right away. Actually, they also came to check on her when we didn't even ask. After she passed, many of the staff came in to tell us how sorry they were and asked if we needed anything. This told me everything I needed to know about the facility. Unlike Brookdale, my sister wasn't just a number - she was a person who was treated with respect. Believe me, I can tell the difference. If you're considering Pacifica in Peoria - I would give a high recommendation.

I recently visited Pacifica Peoria and I was very pleased with how well kempt and happy the residents were. I have been in other facilities and by far this community is superior “ it was clean and the staff from the management and admin team to the nurses and care staff were all polite, caring, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this community to all of my family and friends in need of a place that provides exceptional care to a loved one.

This is the BEST senior living/memory care place ever! My grandpa and my boyfriends grandpa are both residents and it’s absolutely wonderful. We searched pretty much every memory care facility in the valley, and this one is BY FAR the best. They take people of all stages-from being a little forgetful and Sun downing to hospice patients who can’t get out of bed. They have tortoises and Guinea pigs and lots of daily entertainment for the residents. They are really well staffed. I can’t go and visit my grandpa without seeing at least 5 or so staff workers. The security is amazing. Everyone who works here is so kind and friendly. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the workers are here. The cottages feel like homes and are very well kept and clean. The residents all seem very happy and well taken care of. If you’re considering putting a loved one in a memory care, no where is going to be even close to as good as Pacifica

The staff and administration at Pacifica are phenomenal. Everyone at Pacifica that I knew all seemed to genuinely care about my dad. His special needs were provided for and the extra attention he required was tended to with compassion. The homes on sight are clean and spacious. The rooms are well furnished I highly recommend them for your loved one should they need this type of care.

I am very impressed with Pacifica, and I feel at ease knowing that my mother is being well taken care of. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they interact well with the residents. I really appreciate the range of activities that are planned, and Steve Garon, the activities director, makes sure that my mother participates. My mother had pretty much kept to herself most of her life. At Pacifica, she has an opportunity to interact with others, to try activities she wouldn't have otherwise tried, and (pre-COVID) to go on the planned outings. Her life has been enriched by all of this. Much appreciation to Pacifica and all those who take such excellent care of the residents.

My wife has been here at Pacifica Peoria for over 7 months. I have observed the staff in action from behind the scenes while visiting. I believe I was given a bit more access because it was my Wife that had dementia (having never been apart for more than 24 hours during our entire 31 years of marriage), because I was vaccinated early on for COVID, and also religiously followed all of their protecting protocols for safety of the residents. I have a law enforcement background and try to stay constantly aware of what is going on around my wife and I, simply out of old habit. I was, and am absolutely amazed at how wonderful the staff are to every resident ” even the difficult ones (my wife included, sorry to say). And so patient! (For example, one resident is always sure his ride is arriving in a few minutes, and regularly tries to carry all of his belongings to the exit door. The staff is always immediately to him, gently bringing him back). They are so patient with my wife, who asks a lot of questions and is obsessed with constantly getting ice water from them in small plastic cups. There are many times I am there and positive the staff is unaware of my presence, yet they’re always so good! The Executive Director is so hands on’, taking residents back to their cottages (which I can see occurring through our fencing). I see her as she arrives at our cottage, can clearly see that she is busy with an agenda, yet she always takes time to directly interact with the residents one on one ” making them know how special they are to her. The primary nurse, and the weekend nurse, actually care about even the small things, such as arriving each day to ensure my wife brushes her teeth with the special paste the dentist ordered. Complete thumbs up for this place!

The process of transitioning a parent to a Memory Care Facility can be very emotional process but from the moment of contact with Pacifica, Erin (Executive Director) worked through the decision making process with our family. She educated on the process financially and emotionally. Since the transition the entire staff is helpful in keeping our family abreast of my mother’s care so that family can rest easy knowing that our mother is in good caring hands.

My mom had so many unexplained injuries at this facility. Lack of training and staff not experienced in Alzheimer's and memory care is a problem. She had 5 injuries in 10 mos, 2 required an ambulance call. Hospice helped me find another home for mom and we moved her right away. We were concerned for her safety. But now since we didn't give 30 day notice, Pacifica continues to bill for the early depart. It's over $7000 because they add late charges through their collection agency. This is a big corporation with many facilities, don't expect compassion and care at that facility.

Placing a loved one in a facility and having to walk away daily makes some of us feel hopeless and sad and guilty. When you leave your loved one in someones care you desperately want to know that the caregivers will treat your special family member with love, dignity and gentleness and patience. In the beginning there is the adjustment time for your loved one and your entire family. There were a few learning curves in the beginning when my dad began to stay at Pacifica. I do have to say that I was listened to and respected each time I had a concern and request. The staff at Pacifica always acted quickly and I felt they were concerned for my dad, myself and children as we had this journey through to the end of my dads life. He was there for 2 years and I know he felt cared for and he was always comfortable and well taken care of. My dad was not just a patient there, he was treated like family from ALL the staff members. Anytime the staff came in contact with a resident they were always greeted by their names and with a smile and before Covid they were greeted with a touch or hug. The facility is clean and well maintained. The maintenance staff, chefs and the cleaning personnel take pride in their jobs. When I had an issue with needing a repair in my dads room, it was handled immediately and with a smile. The caregivers are truly angles from above. I always new what was happening with my dads care and the kind of days he had. They were alert to any changes he might be experiencing. Their jobs are difficult and I admire those that have chosen to love on those that we cannot be with all the time. I thank each and everyone at Pacifica for their love for my dad and my family. My mom has been at Pacifica since May. She was living alone and not eating right and it was becoming difficult for her taking care of herself or remember things like she used to. This lead to illnesses and many back to back hospital and long skilled nursing stays. Now her doctor comes to see her there. Medications are dispensed properly leading to better health. It's incredible to see her looking healthy because of all that Pacifica does. I see her I becoming social again and seeing that relaxed look on her face brings me peace of mind. She doesn't worry about cooking, cleaning or laundry and has help showering and other daily needs provided by the wonderful staff there. The meals and snacks like her favorite ICE CREAM are great. She participates in daily activities. THE BEST GIFT I GOT WAS HEARING HER SAY I'M HAPPY HERE AND SHE LIKES IT HERE. She says we're a family here. I needed to hear those words because her happiness means everything to us. Myself as a daughter I can sleep at night knowing she is well cared for. Momma is happy!

My Mother recieved great care by the Pacifica staff. They are " in purpose" and listened to my concerns and delivered on every promise regarding my Mother's care. The property inside and out is kept exceptionally clean. Great attention to detail overall! It felt like home away from home!
