Brookdale East Mesa – Reviews
October 2022
Thank you for caring for my Mom. Brookdale is so helpful.
June 2022
We just moved my 87 year old mother here- I have so many positive things to say about Brookdale East. The staff is very caring. The facility is lovely and smells clean- it's tastefully decorated and the grounds are nicely kept. There are 4 separate "neighborhoods" (that connect together if residents want to stroll around) and in each small neighborhood the residents eat dinner together like a family in a smaller dining room. They give mom her space; just enough care to still feel independent & in control of what she wants. They don't force anything on her that she doesn't want to do and we appreciate that cuz she's feisty lol. Also I'd like to add that despite the nursing shortage going on across the country right now, Brookdale East Mesa appears to be fully staffed at this time which is impressive.

This is by far the best homelike facility to leave your loved one. I love it so much that Ive already told my grown children that this is where I want them to place me if I get dementia-Alzheimers. This Brookdale is a specialized dementia-Alzheimers facility. My mom has been here for 18 months and she has not only got A+ care, but all the staff here are kind, caring and just AMAZING❣ All their meals are made from scratch and theyre chefs cook better and healthier than I have ever cooked for my own family or myself. They have low turnover. Hardly any! Most of their staff have worked her for around 10 years plus.I had previously tried several home based assisted living for her and it was a complete nightmare. She was patient dumped at a hospital at one. On her death bed at another which was run by a Filipino woman who owned several homes that she converted over to assisted living homes. The 2 workers were also Filipino and not only treated my mom and the other clients horribly and fed them white bread with peanut butter at every meal and would strap the clients into their beds at 7 pm so they could skype all night with their husbands in the Philippians all night. They did not notify me when my mom got extremely ill and could not breath from pneumonia. They called the hospice after-hour nurse who then called me. I immeasurable called 911 and had them rushed out to save my dying mom. Not caused from old age, but absolute neglect. The other patients would tell me that they were all treated horribly and were afraid they would die there. They not only treated the clients bad but me and my family too! My mom was dehydrated and had septics and pneumonia and was in the hospital for weeks before having to continue her recovery at a nursing type facility. So if you want a place that will take care of your loved ones better than you ever could in your own. THIS IS THE PLACE Deana Willis daughter and fan of Brookdale EastMesa. ☺

I am very impressed with the staff interactions with the residents. They genuinely care about all of the people there.

Brookdale took good care of my stepfather. The staff were kind to the residents and they kept them COVID-free March-June no small feat in the middle of a pandemic. They would let my mom eat with him if she was there at mealtime and navigated some tricky family dynamics with us. Melinda was very helpful to us as we went through the ALTCS approval process and ensuring that my Mom had what she needed. Paul very kindly would use his iPhone to let us Facetime in order to stay in contact throughout lockdown. Staff doesnt have to care, but it is obvious they do. The facility is very clean and the food not bad.I would like to add that we received pictures in the mail 2 days ago of my stepdad from Victoria, the Executive Director of Brookdale and to point out that facilities run well for a reason and that reason is usually to be found at the top of the chain. Victoria has done a great job of maintaining patient safety in the era of COVID and strives to keep high quality resident care a priority; Brookdale is high quality and your family member will be well treated there by upper management, and staff.

Nice facility, staff who care and pleasant secure outdoor areas to enjoy.

The Brookdale Staff is incredible. The second we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. It was obvious that these were people who truly love what they do. After touring the facility, we sat down with Liz and she went over everything thoroughly. As difficult as it was for us to leave our grandpa in an unfamiliar place with people he didnt know, we felt confident in our decision. Liz and the other ladies in the front were very compassionate, understanding and reassuring. Since moving grandpa in, we have met many other attentive and caring staff members- one of which went OUT of his way to get the cable hooked up in the room and working properly. He stayed late (past his scheduled shift) to handle this and even followed up shortly after. Mark, your efforts and hard work are appreciated!

When its time to find a home for your loved one, its a difficult, confusing journey. Brookdale East Mesa is the home my Mom now resides in and my I couldnt be happier!! We live out of state so knowing that the people there, starting with Victoria English (Executive Director) and her staff, I am 100% confident Mom is well taken care of. East Mesa employees look at the residents as part of their own family. They become attached to everyone, watch over them, listen to them when theyre having a tough day (as all memory care people have). Family Night each month has a theme, decorations and food that, in our experience, is top notch!!! My family is blessed to have Mom at Brookdale East Mesa!!!

The staff is very friendly and I have found them all to be knowledgeable and willing to explain and answer my questions. The environment seems to be focused on making life more than just sitting around for the residents and their individual needs. Especially enjoy Victorias pleasant, personable and professional demeanor which is also reflected in her staff
May 2019
I was very impressed with the fact that residents can access the outdoors with really nice gardens and walkways and still remain in a totally secured environment. They really make it feel like residents are comfortably in their own house.

Tracy Henderson is wonderful to work with. She is personal, professional, and committed to helping you. She helped me in an emergency situation. She worked well beyond her regular hours and did all in her power to work through a difficult situation.
February 2018
The staff and management do a great job finding the right fit for each new resident. They have a number of different activities for the residents and even a dog and cat to make things feel more comfortable. We took our first tour and immediately felt the warm, inviting environment from the minute we met Traci Henderson who showed us around at Brookdale East Mesa.

My experience with Ms Traci Henderson was beyond fabulous. Her caring attitude is evident in everything she does, in the way that she talks to the residents as well as new people coming in the door like us. I value her attentiveness and her Compassion in dealing with it what is a very difficult situation for many families.
