From our visits with our loved one in Canyon Valley, the staff is very caring and helpful. They are warm, friendly and focus on the resident's needs. Joanna plans and schedules events for the residents that are of particular interest to them. Her planning of outings and walks are especially appreciated. Joanna, as well as other members of the CV team are always available and eager to answer questions and concerns.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Canyon Valley for 18 months. Prior to this, he was a resident at another, more expensive, "fancier" facility in another state. Before Canyon Valley, he often seemed stressed and unhappy; the other facility had few organized activities, and few creative or constructive projects for residents. In his time at Canyon Valley, my father-in-law has consistently improved in many ways. His appetite has increased significantly, he gets real pleasure from activities, his demeanor has improved, he seems happy and content. We are thrilled with these improvements (he is 91 years old). We believe that one of the primary reasons for his improved overall well being are the many social, cultural, and creative activities and events at Canyon Valley. Johanna, who directs all of these, is an extraordinarily committed, skilled, creative, organized, and caring person. I have had experience with multiple care facilities for different family members and friends. But never before have I seen a place where residents so fully participate in creative and interesting projects, and where their opinions and input are so valued and respected. Before Canyon Valley, we had no idea that my father-in-law had artistic skills and an artistic eye! Johanna's projects - from painting, to tiling, to flower-arranging and jewelry-making - have peaked my father-in-law's interest, engaged his mind, and allowed his creativity and well-being to bloom and flourish. It is magnificent to see! The frequency and quality of activities bring residents together and elevates their self-esteem - a beautiful and rare accomplishment for people in memory care. It is clear that in recent months, since Johanna has been given more freedom and space to program, my father-in-law is more engaged and happier - because he is involved in things that interest his mind and exercise his body. We are extremely satisfied, and we attribute these positive things to Johanna and her staff.

Moving a loved one to a memory care facility is a difficult endeavor wrought with confusion, anxiety and sadness. Having an attentive and communicative staff is paramount, and this has been our experience at Canyon Valley Memory Care. I'm a private caregiver, one of the first people I met at Canyon Valley was Johanna Turnbull. She always has a beautiful smile that lights up a space, along with her upbeat personality. She helped me get acquainted with the staff and is always there to help. I took my client to the beautiful Tea Party she had arranged, we had a lovely time, and her garden project seems to bring joy to the residents. They seem to enjoy taking care of them. There are so many good things to be said about Canyon Valley Memory Care. My loved one has been there for 21 months and is very happy there. I so much appreciate the staff. Johanna, the Lifestyle Director, has got to be one of the best in the care business. She is very successful in guiding the residents through their activities and has organized many great get togethers such as the tea party just to name one of the latest. In addition to Johanna the entire staff are all so notable in all that they do for our loved ones. I would like to mention all by name if I could as I rely on them so much. Gentle care, compassion and love are words that sum up the daily routine of the staff. And I don't want to end without mentioning the wonderful food and the hard work of Chef Alicia and her kitchen staff! I am very grateful to have found Canyon Valley.

My mother moved in a little over a year ago and I could not be more pleased with how she has thrived there. Johanna constantly invents new ways to engage the residents with games, art projects, physical activities and community events. Johanna and the staff make placing a loved one in a facility so much easier when you see how well they are taken care of.

My father has been a resident at Canyon Valley. He moved here from a more expensive and bigger facility, where all the rooms were new but the staff treated residents like luggage in a storage facility. What a difference here: personalized activities, events, excercise, outings, and specific attention to everyone. I think the secret sauce is Johanna, who is filled with energy, hugs, ideas, and the force of personality to follow through on it all. The rest of the staff pays careful attention and really go out of their way to make each day fun and interesting for all the residents. One story to summarize. A while back, a new resident came with a number of difficulties. He was young, wanted to get to his truck, and not very responsive to others. In a few months, he had become an invaluable friend to everyone, helping serve people and plan activities. This happened because CYMC saw him as a person instead of a problem, and directed his energy accordingly. Many other places would have tried to quiet or "solve" him, either medicating or frustrating him further. It's the people here that matter.

Kudos to ALL Canyon Valley Memory Care STAFF! They have made the difficult decision made almost 4 years ago far better than I anticipated. Instead of going from bed to chair to table at home my husband now receives consistent medical, dietary, and physical activity care. When, I visit he is rarely in his room. Yes, his dementia has increased and he is now receiving additional Hospice care. Physically he IS Better. My workaholic farmer/rancher husband is having fun and engaging in activities like Bingo? painting? reading the newspaper to less able pals? All the kudos Activities Director, Johanna Turnbull, receives are well deserved. She uses the SPARK Montessori-based philosophy of activities work.

We moved my mother in to Canyon Valley Memory Care Residents about 8 months ago. Johanna Turnbull and the wonderful team at Canyon Valley made mom's transition to assisted living such a easy and smooth transition for both mom and me and my wife. My mother in law has been at Canyon Valley for a little over one year. Without exception, all the staff I've met on my repeated visits has been wonderful and caring. There are three people who deserve mention as they are the cream of the crop. First, there is a young woman who works in another unit, but always comes to my mother in law and calls her grandma and tells her how much she loves her. My mother in law eats this up. Next is a nurse named Terra who has the patience of a saint. I've seen her interact with many of the patients and she is always kind and encouraging. This poor woman works very hard and still takes the time to tell me when she sees me that she is praying for my health. To me, that is genuine love for other human beings. Lastly, Johanna is an amazing power ball, who comes up with so many interesting ways to keep the patients engaged. Not long ago, she had the patients form committees to aid the victims of the fires in Hawaii. I can't tell you how excited the residents were that they were helping other people. She genuinely cares for all. Her enthusiasm and compassion is contagious. The place would not be the same without her!!!

My mom lives at Canyon Valley Memory Care and I can't say enough about the exceptional care she receives. I am a healthcare professional and have been in many different facilities in the area. I chose Canyon Valley because I like the smaller home like environment, and the excellent activity program that they offer. I have never regretted the decision to place her at Canyon Valley and after a year of her being a resident there I became an employee. I highly recommend Canyon Valley Memory Care.

I placed my great aunt and her close friend here after researching all available memory care facilities in the Green Valley area. I chose Canyon Valley because the facilities were impressive, the staff seemed professional and caring, they were willing to take on the responsibility of caring for my aunt's small dog, and they agreed to accept Medicare payment once the residents' personal finances are exhausted, which many first-rate senior residences will not. Canyon Valley lived up to our expectations. The facilities were clean and attractive, the staff was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. My aunt and her companion were very happy and well cared for. So was their dog, who outlived them and is now a beloved member of the community.

We have been very happy that we chose Canyon Valley Memory Care for our mother. Our relative has been at Canyon Valley for four months now, and he has been exceptionally well cared for despite him having Parkinsons and a high fall risk. The staff goes above and beyond to help him. Everyone is very kind and helpful, giving him excellent care. He even likes the food! They have done everything possible for us to continue to visit him over the pandemic. This is a great place to put your loved one.

There are a few memory care options available to choose from in the Green Valley-Sahuarita area. The staff at Canyon Valley are very flexible and are there because they truly love their jobs. They arent there just for the paycheck which is noticeable and greatly appreciated.

Canyon Valley Memory Center really cares for their residents. You can have the peace of mind knowing that Your loved ones health is followed by an RN. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities such as making scrubs, puppy treats and flower pot painting. Way to go Canyon Valley!!!!

One of the many things I love about Canyon Valley is how they include their residents in so many ways. Not only by making things like the sugar scrubs but also in the decor around the facility which makes the atmosphere homey and inviting. The staff are caring, friendly, and easy to work with!

I love this place and the people working and living there. I am a fitness instructor and work with the residents twice a month. The staff is wonderful with the residents and you can tell how they love each and everyone of them. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. There are plenty of activities for the residents and they are happy to engage in these activities. It is also a very safe place for your loved ones. All the residents are treated with respect and care.

Working at Canyon Valley Memory Care was such a blessing! I was their Marketing Director for a short period until I unfortunately had to move to Nashville with my husband for his job transfer. I was trained by some of the best people at Catalina Springs Memory Care. In the time that I was there, we were able to ensure that we always went above and beyond in making sure our residents lives were enriched in every way possible. We were also able to start our SOAR (Seniors of Artistic Repurposing) group with the residents at Canyon Valley and I must say, I saw immediate changes in just how the residents became more active socially, physically, and mentally. We took many positive steps in making Canyon Valley Memory Care a better place and from what I have seen and heard they are still going strong! Frontier Mangaments Montessori Inspired Methods truly do set them apart from any other Senior Living Community Ive ever seen or ever heard of. We consistently received many testimonies from family members on the difference they would see in their loved ones. That to me is just priceless and was very rewarding working for such an amazing company who truly cares about their residents and making sure they live enriched lives and always having meaningful experiences at Canyon Valley Memory Care. I have been blessed to have found CVMC when we needed the most. When my MIL started acting up with her dementia, I found myself lost and without hope. She didnt trust me or anyone around her. I was un-able to provide a safe environment for her and started calling around. Someone sent me to CVMC and I found not only a new home for my dearest MIL, but also a place where we could re-connect. She is well taken care of with lots of love and compassion. Dementia and ALZ are very difficult and their personnel knows exactly how to work with her to keep her calm, happy and safe. Thank you for been there for me and my family! Truly there are not enough words to express our gratitude!

As a licensed fiduciary, whose practice is limited to serving the elderly and their families, I totally endorse Canyon Valley for patients in the beginning to middle stages of dementia. In my 13 years of practice, I have evaluated well over a hundred care facilities, and my 91 -year ,who has lived there for 7 months, is doing great. In many assisted living facilities, there are no activities, or once weekly at most and that usually consists of bingo. The elderly are left to watching TV or going out into a patio, while Canyon Valley offers a full daily schedule of crafts, sing alongs, dog therapy, to name of a few plus frequent outings in their bus. They also take residents to all doctor appointments. Additionally, they have a full-time RN, who is also on call when needed. An outstanding geriatric doctor visits Canyon Valley residents on a regular basis. This facility also offers services to the very poor, which is rare is such a luxurious setting. Lastly, they have a fantastic chef who tries his utmost to meet the challenges of finicky eaters, while serving daily attractive, nutritious meals. It is difficult at best to run a facility 24-7 and doing it with the grace and caring shown by the management and staff of Canyon Valley.
