Awesome location. The staff here really work to make the residents comfortable and upkeep the house. I spoke with the manager Jasmina and Marina while I was there. Both were super nice to me and my mom. My mom has told me about both of them and how great they are.

Slow service at the restaurant; otherwise about as good of a place that it can be.

Jerry, Charlane and their staff are all ao amazing. They have treated my mom with respect and have given her the independence and mobility with physical therapy she has been needing for years. The Christmas "Home for the Holidays Buffet" was amazing. The chef made such great food and all the staff assisting were perfect.

No pictures to share but still wanted to share our experience. From the first meeting until everything was over, the legacy house and its staff was very accommodating. Jerry especially. As things turn out, my mother passed away before we could actually get her moved in. Jerry continually stayed in contact and expressed his sincere condolences. It may have not worked out for us but I would recommend this facility to anyone needing help, a shoulder, a helping hand, you name it.

My 89 -year-old Mom has lived at Legacy House of Avondale for eight months, with many visits during that time from her adult children, both local and out-of-state. My brother, a retired fire fighter, discovered Legacy and brought Mom for tours twice before she made her decision. My brother has seen many senior care facilities, good and bad, during his career, so he knew what to look for. Scott and I (wife Michele) have stayed on-site at Legacy in the guest suite during visits, which helped us get an even better feel for the place. This move was hard for Mom, leaving friends and completely independent living behind, but it needed to happen for many reasons and as Mom often says "This is a good place." The staff know and greet the residents by name and are warm and welcoming. Jerry D., Rosemarie, Leslie at lobby reception, and Cheyenne who cleans and helps with Mom's laundry, all make the Personal Touch philosophy a reality in how they treat residents in this community. Mom has enjoyed the Happy Hour events with outside music organized by Lucy in the recreation department. So great to see caregivers singing and encouraging movement to the music with some of the residents, including those from memory care. The dining room food is very good (excellent chef!) and the staff waiting tables are patient and hard working. All are great and Tyesha stands out as especially helpful. Special events at Legacy (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Oktoberfest) are great parties, with music, superb decorations, and excellent food. Most impressive is the way the whole staff work together to provide a fun celebration for residents and their families. In searching options as a family, we thought it important for Mom to be someplace with graduated levels of care so that she would not need to move as her needs change over time. She has only used her emergency call button once in eight months, with fast response and assistance. I do not know how Legacy performs for residents with higher care needs, but so far, we think that Mom made a good choice. Michele and Scott

My mother in her 6th year of dementia needing more care then family could provide. Looked at a few other places and was very disappointed. Was given a refferal to Legacy House. Met with Jerry D. An amazing man, we spoke, toured the facility. It is beautiful..enough space for her. The staff is amazing. Jerry and Rosemarie have been so helpful no matter how many questions I've had. My heart is happy to have a safe place for her at Legacy House. Thank you!! My mom has been there a month. The staff is truly amazing. Special shout out to her caregivers...an amazing group of people. They are truly caring with her. My mother is non verbal but I can see she is happy and honestly speaking a bit more. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart Your kindness truly comforts me knowing my mom is in a great place.

There are a lot of assisted living places to choose from. Some have higher monthly's, some have lower monthly's with limited care and resources. If you're looking for perfection from an assisted living place, you're never going to find it. However, when I moved Mom into Legacy almost two years ago, after a friend told me about the place, I was skeptical at first because the place was so clean. I know...strange right? But my thinking at the time was, if this place is so clean, there must be problems I'm not seeing. lol! Fast-forward two years later and the place is still as clean as it was when I moved Mom in, AND I have to say, she couldn't be happier. 🙂 I think the thing that makes Legacy so special is not just the building, but the great care staff, the fun activities and a great maintenance crew that is there if you need them. You can also tell by how happy the residents are when you come visit. That should always tell you something about places like this. Originally, when I moved Mom in, the food wasn't as good as it is now. But that's the other thing, when something is not working right you also have a proactive management team that works on fixing the problems, and that's what I love most about Legacy. Long story short, they ended up hiring a great chef to prepare the meals. He also does these really cool special events for the residents and their families and the food really is terrific! All that said, out of all the places around here, I honestly can't think of any other place I'd rather have my Mom be. Thank you Legacy. E Burnett Son of an actual resident at Legacy House

I am finally at a place to comment on this exceptional facility. My Mom was a resident for 15 months, most of it in Memory Care. When she first arrived I felt she probably only had 2 to 3 months to live, her dementia advanced so quickly but the Memory Care staff gave her a year I thought I didn't have. The staff is wonderful and their activities get the residents involved and help them get functionality back and they blossom more than you could hope for. MARY IS THE KEY. She adores and loves her residents and wants them to have joy in their lives EVERYDAY. If you are considering this facility, you will have a hard time finding a better place to have your loved one live. The entire Memory Care staff have my utmost gratitude in giving more quality time with my Mom. It meant the world to me as she was my everything.

Although my Aunt passed away in January 2021, I only now find the opportunity to write my review of Legacy House and I consider it important to do so despite the passage of time. I commute between England and Goodyear and, with my Aunt's 'help', despite her having had Alzheimer's, during one of my many trips, moved her into Legacy House - instead of any of the other many facilities in the area. My Aunt had lived [only existed!] at her previous facility between 2017 and early 2020. However, my concern for her welfare and our selection of Legacy House rewarded us with a further 10 months, until January 2021, of: care and attention, recovery of her ability to walk, cleanliness, dignity and comfort, engagement in activities, conversation regained, and confidence rebuilt. My Uncle [dec'd in 2017] was probably looking down and guiding our choice of Legacy House. I cannot speak highly enough of the Legacy House: culture and establishment; professionalism and sensitivity; ethics and commitment to Legacy's clients; and, love and attention given to it's clients.

We are currently in the process of finding a home for our family member. Our search has led us to facilities who refused to give us tours, because the director wasn't available, even though we had an appointment. We have searched all over the valley and found this gem right in our back yard. Jerry, the director of the facility has not only been there with us EVERY step of the way, but has reached out personally on several occasions to answer any further questions we have. The care and genuine concern and his passion for making people's lives better has been unmatched by any other facility we visited, from Gilbert, to Scottsdale, and Phoenix. The Director of Maintenance is Wayne Liepke. He was the true game changer for us. We were so frustrated after a long day of traveling the valley with appointments that had gone wrong, so we said, well...let's stop at Legacy and just check it out. No one was available to give us a tour that day, so he took time out of his busy schedule and showed us around the entire facility. He knew the names of EVERY resident we ran across, and introduced them to us...even their pets!!! This place felt like home to us, and we wanted to move there, but it isn't quite our time yet! Amazing all around!

My mom was there for 2 years before she passed. Initially, all was fine but after a few months, began noticing many changes. The “hierarchy” began leaving and their replacements were not good. Never enough aides, ran out of food, the aides left Legacy in droves and management swept everything under the rug. Although the site is very attractive that’s about all it has going for them. Phone calls from management were not returned on a timely basis unless you threatened to come in person. Management always “in a meeting”! And, let’s not forget about the (lack of) services provided on weekends and during the night. Do not send your family members there.

We moved my father here to assisted living from CA where he had been on his own. It was right before covid hit and they have done an amazing job of keeping him safe. I can’t thank them enough for that. They put up with his quirks and have been attentive to him. Then in January, we transferred my Uncle from a local memory care facility, 2 years ago we transferred him from out of state to AZ. He had a night mare experience in his previous state and we rescued him. He was ok at the Memory Care facility in Peoria and we had to wait with covid to transfer him other wise he would have been in Legacy last year. Since January he is doing much better! He has a larger room, more privacy, has made friends. Absolutely amazing difference. He was over medicated & Legacy worked with his new Dr to change it. This is not a drug them to make them sleep and behave facility. They truly want their residents to have the best experience possible and to still live. They aren’t a feed and water place, but are truly caring and compassionate. My Uncle has been getting physical therapy, which has helped him considerably. Jerry and the rest of the staff keep in contact with us. I highly recommend Legacy and I would put myself in their care without a moments hesitation. If more places during covid had been like legacy thousands of lives could have been saved. They have done a fabulous job. That in and of itself is priceless.I’m very grateful daughter and niece.

I referred my neighbor to Legacy House of Avondale for employment as a front Desk agent, as I know her to have impeccable people skills an abilities, while awaiting to be interviewed she realized there where no noticeable employees of color anywhere visible within management. anyone of color were noticed to have only been working within housekeeping/kitchen. Which spoke volumes to me. My husband an I had recently been taken on a wonderful tour of this facility in hopes of placing his mother there, at which time he and I noticed the same discriminating evidence. However, after witnessing each of these situations we had decided against Legacy House.

My mother in law moved to Legacy July 2018 from Pennsylvania. We toured several other Senior living communities and not one compared to Legacy. These are the reasons we love Legacy:1. The staff is amazing, they shower the residents with love and kindness. 2. It feels like a 5 star resort with a beautiful outdoor walking garden. 3. The dining room is white table cloth comfort and they order off menus. The chef is amazing! Everything is home made down to the broths. No processed food here, it is delicious and healthy. 4. The apartments are spacious and include weekly cleaning. 5. Amy is fantastic with planning events at Legacy and outdoor excursions. They have weekly live entertainment. 6. My mother in law is healthier living at Legacy. She moved in with a cane and within 2 months she began walking without it! 7. Great value for the price My mother in law instantly felt at home. She felt safe, loved and made many friendsI highly suggest you take and tour of Legacy, it is more than we ever expected.

We recently moved a loved one with dementia from an out-of-state memory care facility to Legacy House. The caring staff has helped make a much smoother transition than we were expecting. The advertised personal touch culture was already evident the day he arrived, as key staff members stayed after regular business hours to ensure safe and secure check-in into his new home. Even more impressively, my sister and her dog, who made the 2,000 mile travel journey with the resident, were given a ride home. Kudos to Jenn for taking another hour out of her evening for doing that. Legacy House even provided my sister with a delicious complimentary meal that evening. It was enough to make a grown man (me) cry!

This is the 2nd place my mother has lived in the last 6 months and it is so much better than the last! The staff is very friendly, she has everything she needs right onsite and most importantly we know she is in a safe environment. The stress, or lack of stress I should say, of knowing that she has someone there 24 hours a day 7 days a week making sure she is taken care of has made all the difference.

My parents have been living at Legacy House for about 6 months. I personally toured 16 other assisted living and memory care facilities and none compared to Legacy House. The atmosphere is more of a luxury hotel than of an assisted living facility. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and some even have balconies. The food is great! The staff is warm and welcoming and the nurses are experts in their field. This was a hard decision, but we now feel that our parents are safe, with round the clock nursing care and people who care about them. Highly recommend!
