The residents are the best. The management however is not. Arbitrary rules are sometimes enforced and other times ignored. Rules are very detailed listing what furniture is allowed on your porch for example. The grounds around the patio homes are very hilly making it impossible for people with disabilities to walk around outside. But in the apartments and cottages areas the ground is level and easily accessible. We lived there on the hilly part for 10 months and got out as soon as we found alternate accommodations. We were willing to pay the penalty in order to leave before our lease expired. Socially it is a great place for seniors. It is a safe place that is mostly maintained well. But it is not a good fit for people who want reasonable, equably enforced rules.

Ray & I really enjoy living here. The staff is really wonderful. The community is nice , clean and quiet. They have a monthly calendar with activities. You can have a walk and relax at several gazebos that are there Any maintenance needed they are right there. Staff is always helpful with any questions you have. I highly recommend living here.

Brookside has been such a blessing to our family. We moved our grandmother in and it has done wonders for her socially. I used to work in assisted living and with my past experience this place is top notch. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a loved one you can't go wrong at brookside.

We recently moved my Grandmother into Brookside. The community is so beautiful and the staff are extremely helpful and genuine. My first time on the property was for a wedding at their chapel. The beautiful manicured grounds, the tuned upright piano, and the up kept buildings were a good indication of how the staff takes care of the residents, but the residents were even more of a delight. They were so kind and warm that these were not your typical neigbours; these are your friends. They really treat you like you're family and want you to be in their community. I left the wedding feeling like I made new friends and was part of another family. My next trips on the property were for Covid-19 vaccine clinics that the staff arranged for their residents. We arrived and were warmly greeted by the staff while a queue of residents was already formed awaiting us at their community centre building. The staff efficiently and kindly relegated the clinics, showing their upmost care for their residents not only in setting up the clinic, but knowing each resident by name, their health conditions and needs, their family history... it became abundantly clear that the staff knows each and every single one of their residents. They playfully joked with some, kindly addressed the concerns of others, and ensured that those who could not come to the centre would receive the vaccine by sending us to their cottages or apartments, escorting us to ensure the safety of everyone. The office manager gave clear directives to the staff and showed amazing leadership by example, which included helping me clean up the community centre and loading the equipment into my vehicle as my colleagues went and visited the residents. During this time I noticed the grounds and buildings were as well maintained this time as they were a few years prior to my first visit. After visiting other assisted living communities in the area for clinics, this place stood out as the best, well beyond the care and diligence I noticed of other places. All in all if you're looking for a community where the residents treat you like actual neighbours, the staff wants to get to know you and serve you, and is a safe and beautiful place to live, then you have successfully found such a place. With pharmacies, grocery stores, restaurants, and a hospital all nearby, you can be guaranteed that this is the place for you and/or a loved one.

Friendly, professional staff. Within the first several minutes I knew this was the place. Clean safe environment. Just walking down the hallway all the staff and residents met me with a warm smile and a Hello. I can't say enough about the way the whole place just made me feel so comfortable.

Brookside is absolutely the best senior community to be part of for anyone. The office staff is always so helpful and caring. The food is great, there is a lot of activities and friendly neighbors. If you are looking for a place for yourself or your family member check out Brookside because it is so nice!

My mother moved into an independent living apartment at Brookside in 2011 and moved to their Assisted Living facility this year. I asked a couple of the direct care workers if they liked working here and they said yes, enthusiastically. In Long-term Care facilities, that is always a good sign that Administration/Management/Ownership treat them well and that they will treat our loved ones well. The caregivers and nursing staff are observant, thorough, warm and engaging. The kitchen staff routinely go above and beyond for Mom. As weight loss has been of concern for her, they will bring her a milkshake in the evenings if she wants. She had always been afraid that she would lose her independence in a residential setting, but at Brookside, the services are very much person-centered. There are lovely activities and celebrations to recognize residents' accomplishments, and the socialization has been an asset for Mom's wellness. The independent living apartments are also being renovated, including installations of accessible bathrooms. We couldn't be happier with Brookside.

This is a progressive care retirement community. There are small homes for total independent living; cottages, townhouses and quad-plexes for semi-independent living and rooms for semi-assisted living. The staff are friendly and the owner is hands on, very actively involved in the operations. It has a comfortable homey feel. The main building that houses the semi-assisted living has a small beauty shop and the dining room. There is a cute little chapel on the grounds where those in independent living can attend church services and is also available to rent for weddings.

The director was pushy. My daughter in law wasn't allowed to finish eating!!The director took it upon herself to cut the cake instead of the bride and groom!! It was a horrible experience!! Way to aggressive and pushy!!
