I am a pirate aid for a few of Somerby's residents and when I say this is the best senior care community around. The staff are top notch and you can tell that they love what they do and the residents are always busy.In some senior communities you don't see managers around but not here they are visible and there for their residents and staff especially the new lady their Residents Services Director Ms LaDawn she is such a sweetheart she goes over and beyond to insure the residents concerns and needs are taken care of and Tara the Sales Manager is a gem she will help anyone she can move into the right apartment at a great price without pressure.

I am a fairly new employee here at Somerby but from the first day everyone has made me feel at home. The residents and staff are friendly and the building is immaculate. There is something for everyone here at Somerby from line dancing, to swimming or jewelry design and Wii bowling tournaments. Somerby is the BEST place for senior living hands down!

I have worked at Somerby of Mobile for 12.5 years. In that time I have come to know some of the greatest people I’ve ever met- residents and associates alike. The atmosphere has allowed me to become a confident leader, and I feel rewarded at the end of the day. I recommend working here!

My wife and I Built our Garden Home at Somerby of West Mobile in 2007. We love it here and enjoy all the services and programs. The staff is very supportive and so nice. The residents are active and friendly. Our garden home residents enjoy all of the amenities as those in the apartments. We all get along fine and are pretty active. The food and dining is great. It is a beautiful place and very comfortable. The location could not be better for health care with doctors, dentist hospital and wellness [ gym and rehab ] so close.

My mom has been at Somerby for almost 4 months. The initial move was difficult because my Mom was used to being independent but due to a major fall, and subsequent surgery, she needed assistance. Somerby was our first and only choice for my Mom's care. She is adjusting and because of the daily activities offeredshe has met and made friends with other residents. Any concerns I had about her care were discussed and addressed professionally and with tremendous care. They understand not only is this move difficult for the resident it is also hard for the family. I have recommended Somerby to my Mom's friends. We were told it takes 3 to 4 months for a resident to adjust and that is spot on. We are all adjusting and we are thankful to have a place like this for my Mom to live. The facility is beautiful and residents friendly when visiting. The staff is great in all areas. Assisted Living for my Mom is wonderful. She can participate in all activities, if she wants, in Independent Living or Assisted Living. I am truly sleeping better now that she is receiving the care she needs. The food is awesome and she's list weight by eating healthier. Love this place!!

My experience in searching for an assisted living facility for my mother was a very positive one at Somerby. The questions, concerns, and fears that I had were all addressed to my satisfaction and to my mother's. She has been very pleased with her surroundings, the assistance she has received, and of course the food. It has also been a blessing that any problems she has experienced have been taken care of immediately. I would give them an excellent rating in environment, service, and satisfaction.

We moved my mom from an Assisted Living Facility to Somerby Independent Living, and the whole experience was absolutely positive. Tom S. was wonderful in guiding us through the process and helping us to choose the apartment and services that Mom would need. We (my brother and four sisters) are all much happier with the personal space mom has now as well as the rest of the facilities available for her to enjoy. One of the initial things that really impressed me about Somerby was how the people who work there interact with and treat each other. Everyone I have come into contact with there seems to have an easy-going yet extremely courteous camaraderie with their co-workers, evincing an underlying respect for each other that reassures me my Mom will receive the same respect and courtesy along with any assistance she may need in the future. I have chatted with several of the residents at Somerby while moving Mom in and coming to visit, and they have all had high praise for the facility and the people who work there. Everyone seems so comfortable and cheery, it almost makes me want to move in... I would highly recommend that anyone seeking a residential facility - for themselves or for a loved one - tour Somerby before making a decision.

We didn't think we could traverse the (quite appropriate) hurdles to gain access for our beloved Mom's entry. Thanks to the extraordinary devotion and hands-on help of Somerby's staff we made it. My Mom, a retired and very independent college professor, is frankly not the easiest person to please. I visited her today, as I do each day, and she proclaimed that she'd had a "great" day. She had a wonderful experience with her therapist followed by careful attention from the the custodial staff and visits from many friends. We had lunch in the dining room yesterday w/several friends, a perfect experience. We are so grateful, especially to Ms. Scrivener and Matt> for the first time in many long years we can sleep soundly knowing that Mom is in good and caring hands.

I recently visited Somerby as an alternative living for my 92 year old mother. Although, we do not need to move her into assisted living at this time; I must admit that I was quite impressed with this residence. If it becomes imperative that Mom needs to move from her home in Myrtle Beach, we will certainly consider moving her into Somerby. I feel that she would be quite welcomed and fit nicely into the Somerby atmosphere!
