We can’t thank everyone at the rehab and nursing home enough for the extraordinary care they gave our dad Eliseo S. From the highest levels of leadership to every nurse, aide, therapist, housekeeper, and staff member, every single person treated him with dignity, compassion, and genuine determination. When our dad arrived, things looked incredibly difficult ” he could barely move or speak ” but this team never gave up on him. Even during the hardest days, they continued encouraging him, working with him, and believing in his progress when many others might have lost hope. Their patience, kindness, and dedication made all the difference. The therapists went above and beyond every day, celebrating even the smallest victories and pushing him with care and respect. The nursing staff was attentive, compassionate, and always willing to answer questions or provide comfort to our family. You could truly feel that they cared about him as a person, not just a patient. What impressed us most was the teamwork throughout the entire facility. No matter someone’s position or title, everyone treated our dad with warmth, respect, and encouragement. That kind of culture is rare, and it speaks volumes about this facility and its leadership. Because of their hard work, faith, and refusal to give up, our dad made progress we honestly weren’t sure was possible. I’m very happy here because everyone is so nice. Everyone speaks to you with love and respect. The speech therapist Norma is the nicest person and is always willing to help. It seems like she has done the impossible to help me. Romy the CNA is the kindest and most attentive person, she is a very hard worker. Emily made me feel very welcome and would always check in on me to see how I was doing. The staff is so great here.

Let me tell you why this place because they took in my mother who went septic and needed surgery due to neglecnce at another facility. This facility received her with open arms and impeccable bed side manner. We were warmly welcomed on a one a one name bases. The level of professionalism is exeplary and their smiles show that they truly enjoy helping others. They are gentle take their time with each patient and explain everything throughly. I absolutely recommend this facility so your loved ones can receive the best level of care. This place is top notch, hygienic, everyone is eager to help and is skillfully trained. I trust my own mother here and she is improving everyday with the help of God and this facility. They are a true God sent ™

I had a good experience here. Nurse Valeria took really good care of me and so did Abby and Mari Lou. Only thing is that there is no shelves in the bathroom to put your belongings. TV was very good. They have a lot of good channels.

My mother had been at this facility for going on 1 year. As a registered nurse, I can honestly say that the care she receives here is top tier. From the therapy services to the daily care she receives this is a top tier facility. The wound care team is amazing, the food is tasty and authentic for south Texas. The activities coordinators (Bianca and Danny) really make the residents feel included and like family. The business office has been very helpful in helping us understand the assistance that exists for the elderly and the infirm. I highly recommend this place for your loved one for their short and long term care needs.

The facility was very welcoming and nice. I learned a lot today from Nancy a CNA she was nice enough to let my partner and I shadow her around for our clinical. As to what I heard from her patients they really appreciate the attention she gives to each and one of them. I also really liked how patient she was and how she was showing us everything with care.

I came as a first time LVN student and the CNA showing us Martha really was caring toward us students and to patients she really cares about them. She really taught me a lot about patient care and she is very determined to having a clean environment for all staff,visitors and patients.

My mom was recently a patient at McAllen Transitional Care and found they have a caring, knowledgeable staff. Emily the patient advocate checks on you everyday. The CNA’s that help with everyday grooming are very competent and super nice. PT, OT, speech, recreation therapist did their job. Clean constantly cleaning. If you have to go to rehab this is certainly the place.

The front desk staff use to be helpful especially during the COVID days years ago. They had a wonderful front desk staff lady was a standout until she was out for maternity leave and I believe she eventually left. Since then, the dude they have posted, a scruffy redhead with glasses has been nothing but an unhelpful jerk. He can't be bothered when asked about getting to our patients and cops an attitude from time to time. What's the point of having a front desk receptionist who has no answers and is unwilling to help? The lady before him always had access to patient information so we could head to the right nurse's station in which there are several throughout the facility. At times the women located behind him in the offices have interjected at times to help out because this guy can't be bothered. The VA nursing facility down the road, or Las Palmas which is almost across the street and others are light years ahead when it comes to directing visitors and vendors. They've managed to keep front desk staff who are dressed professional and have some semblance of customer service experience or etiquette compared to the current kid who has an unkempt appearance in nurses scrubs.

I looked at several locations before deciding on McAllen Transitional for my mom's care after leaving herhospital stay! it is clean, the staff knew the patients by name. They have several rehab gym areas and the number of staff both during the day and at night is great. It was clean and smelled Clean not chemically clean or deodorized. The food is good and their alternative menu is a plus.

As a patient here I have been very satisfied with the care and especially the therapy that I have received here, following my stroke I never thought that I was ever going to be able to do some of the things I used to do on my own,like walking I am thankful that I was able to come here to this facility and receive the care and support that I have the staff is friendly and wey caring towards the patients

The staff at MTCC are caring and go the extra mile to ensure my therapy is succeeding. We also have an awesome activity group who come up with fun games like bingo and balloon games which help us reach therapy goals. The nursing staff are fantastic and are able to foresee issues and stop said issues before they become big problems. Overall I give this rehab center an A rating!

The staff at McAllen Transitional Care Center have been such a blessing! My grandmother had a slip and fall accident recently, it was scary to say the least but once we were moved into the facility, we were put at ease! The staff, have all been so helpful and knowledgeable! We were so happy with everyone's help especially Emily Pena! She has had so much care and patience with us as we navigated through it all. Don't even get me started at how amazing the rehab team was as well! I could go on and on! With all the care and attention we were given, my grandmother is now safe at home and back to her normal activities!

Besides being a nice and large facility, the service was not as what I expected. Especially when calling noone answers and for me living 25 miles away, I would get worried for no one answering the phone calls. One of my family member nurse did not look interested to know my father and what he needed. Not satisfied with staff service as per the nurses.
