I gave King's Manor 5 stars a year ago and I am here to confirm that I still consider Kings Manor to be a 5 star facility! My family member is going on 6 years at the Manor and the experience is still excellent. My family member feels safe and respected which has had a positive impact on her health. The staff is kind and caring; the facility is clean and fresh. Activities are consistently available for any resident who wishes to partake. A few times a year they host family events and of course, we can visit anytime. Best decision we ever made. Highly recommend.

My Pops who is 93 moved into King's Manor a week before Thanksgiving in 2023 and absolutely loves it. He has said on multiple occasions that he should have done this years ago. He goes to exercise class 5 days a week and is the strongest I've seen my Pops in years. The staff is encouraging, respectful, and very helpful. It truly feels like a home for my Pops!!!

My Mom has lived at King's Manor for almost six years. My siblings and I are so appreciative of the staff, the setup, and the activities. King's Manor Staff is caring, warm, friendly, supportive and welcoming. There are many activities for the community to join in such as teas, holiday parties, informational events, movie/ popcorn nights and so many musical guests. The staff is confidential, quick with responding to concerns/questions and very watchful of the residents. This is a place I would love to live at when I need the support. It's unique blend of Christian love, support and activities makes my mom feel secure, happy and safe. Hands down, the best!!! Jennifer Kyll

We have been very pleased with the care and love my parents have received. Unfortunately we lost our Dad last year. The staff has been so caring toward our Mom who has memory issues. She gets confused and the staff helps her out. The meals provided are excellent.

My mom has been a resident at King's Manor since December 2022. Prior to moving her to King's Manor, my mom had been living at an independent living seniors' community in Tacoma. But mom's rapidly declining health, increasing dementia, and several falls (the last one requiring extended hospitalization) forced us to find a fully-assisted living facility for her. The Tacoma hospital where mom was being treated referred us to a social worker who worked with us to find a new facility for mom—one that we, her family, would find to be "just the right place" for mom to live for the remainder of her life. After much research and on-site tours of other assisted living communities in the area, we found not just "the right place" but the PERFECT place for my mom—King's Manor Senior Living Community. From the moment my wife and I walked in the front door, we could tell it was a cozy, comfortable and peaceful environment—all of which were important for us to find in the new place for my mom. We met with Theresa Lloyd, King's Manor's Public Relations Director, for a personalized tour of the Manor, including a walkthrough of the apartment that would be for my mom. Within minutes, we knew this was the place for mom. After an initial on-boarding assessment and King's Manor's in-take process was complete, we received the keys to mom's new apartment and prepared her and her belongings for the move. We were surprised and blessed to learn that King's would provide a team of men to move mom from her old place to her new room at King's—at no charge to us. All we had to do was pack up her belongings; the team of men did all the heavy work. (BTW, they were a great, caring group of men to work with!) The King's Manor facility is neat and clean, and there aren't any "nursing home odors". Each floor is decorated with lovely and homey decor. (They really decked the place out at Christmas!) The staff—from front door reception to caregiving staff to facility maintenance to the facility's chef—has been so friendly and welcoming. And I don't feel like I am bothering them when I need questions answered. When we walk into King's, we are greeted with a smile and called by our first names. It's like being part of a family. My mom isn't just a number or a "resident". We are treated like family by people who genuinely care about mom and about us. Mary Eagle, King's Wellness Director, keeps in close contact with us and my mom's primary care physician, so we know we are all on the same page as it pertains to mom's medical care. There are many other assisted living facilities in the greater Tacoma area that would probably have been a place for mom. But, over the last few months my wife and I (and my mom) have become convinced that King's Manor is indeed THE PERFECT PLACE FOR MOM!

Trust. Health. Love. And community. These are the qualities and experiences we received at King's Manor for our great grandmother and our family! She was thrilled to return here to her 'home' post covid. She said... these days have been my best days. I think that portrays the qualities of the King's Manor staff and community. They know you, love you, support you, and protect you... when needed. Meals have a community focus and they encourage you to attend. The fireplace is often on with folks sitting and enjoying. There is often a pianist playing music for all to enjoy. Crafts and holidays are lovely here and families are welcomed to join... as we often did.

Kings Manor is a Faith based, non-profit facility, and it has a wonderful, welcoming and family atmosphere about it. Our parents were in their 90s and in need of assistance, more than we kids could give. There are six of us children and we wanted the best possible community setting for our mom and dad. Kings Manor was the perfect choice for them, and they were treated like family. We were very blessed to have them there. At the time when our parents needed to go on Medicaid, they were still able to stay at Kings Manor, whereas some facilities do not allow that. One of the wonderful aspects about Kings Manor is their low employee turnover. Our parents had the same familiar caregivers for the eight years they lived there. We witnessed so much kindness, respect, dignity, and love given to our parents as well as other residents, from all the staff at Kings Manor. We are also impressed with how well the building is maintained in general, it's cleanliness, freshness, comfort, and the beautiful decor. Kings Manor is a good size building, where residents and staff get to know each other well. It has a welcoming and homey feel to it, as soon as you walk in. There are many activities, celebrations, entertainment, parties, and scenic drives for the residents to take part in. Our dad loved playing Wii bowling and mom loved playing bingo. They also took part in all activities. The dining room is bright and spacious, and the food is great and presented nicely. The building is always decorated so nicely during the holidays. The care our parents received was the same as when they first came, and as they became more dependent on their care. The caregivers were truly professional, respectful, and loving. Our family is large, including grandkids, and we were always welcome when any of us came to visit, We can't say enough about Kings Manor, and we encourage any family looking for a wonderful, safe, loving and friendly family community, for your loved ones, to consider visiting Kings Manor. They give guided tours, and you won't be disappointed. There are many more services to find out about. It is so great when the staff and caregivers know you and who you belong to when you walk through the front door. Thank you, From The Briske Family

This is my forever home. We desperately need to address that there is no protection from rain, wind or sun for smokers. I have already gotten 2nd degree burns from being outside in the weather.

Our mother has been a resident of King's Manor for nearly 4 years. After a life changing fall in her home, it was a difficult journey for her to accept the changes necessary to keep her well-cared for and safe. Our blessing was being referred to King's Manor. Mom's gradual happiness came with the professional care, kindness and encouragement from the "angels" that work at King's Manor. Their management and staff are second to none. They cared about our mom as if she were family. This community soon became our family too. Communication is excellent! They have handled the Pandemic by following state and medical guidelines and we support their efforts 100%. We know our mom is safe and our telephone calls to her are positive and she is comfortable. We value this as a faith-based community and it is reflected in every aspect of its existence. We found comfort with this. The facility is clean and well maintained. It is always decorated for the holidays beautifully and with creativity. The activities provided are endless to keep idle minds busy. Mom use to be an excellent cook and she thoroughly enjoys the meals provided. We just can't say enough good things about King's Manor and consider it a blessing in providing us peace of mind because we know our mom is safe and happy.

My mother-in-law lived at Kings Manor until her passing. My husband and I visited her nearly daily as she had health issues and they took care of her till nearly the end. We got to know the aids and staff very well and we saw what good care they provided at Kings Manor and they always made everyone feel welcome. Now several years later, my father needs assisted care and we were elated that he was able to come to Kings Manor as we know what kind of care and passion they have for people. All of the staff and management are still there! That means that the staff really know all of the residents and their individual needs and they love helping people! We would definitely recommend Kings Manor as the best assisted living facility in this area!!

I am so thankful to have found this place for my mom to live. The kindest folks run it and she is so well taken care of. It's clean, up to date, not over crowded and they seem to attract a good group of residents, as well. Also, the price is very fair for the services provided. I highly recommend it.

When I speak of King's Manor to people who are interested in finding the right assisted living community for themselves or someone close to them I tell them it's the most wonderful hidden treasure in Pierce County. I say hidden treasure because when I was first searching online for places to consider I didn't find it. I attribute that now to my lack of computer search proficiency;) l learned of it through an acquaintance who had a happy relative who lived here and through one of the referral agencies that advertise helping find places to see. Why it's a treasure is because it has the qualities and assistance people look for and value. For example, It's well located with easy access in Tacoma, near Puyallup and even not too far from good shopping or favorite places to eat. It's welcoming, and well managed with long time staff. It has a vibrant resident community and an activity director that ensures activities keep your mind and body active. Activities like exercise classes, musicians, speakers, ceramics and games. If you have a small pet it can have a home with you. There's a LPN on staff along with 24 hour capable experienced staff that can provide wide ranging assistance with activities of daily living, in accord with a care plan you develop together. I really appreciate that it is not too big; has lovely apartments from studio to one bedroom that are affordable, a hairdresser is available and you can also arrange transportation to and from local healthcare appointments. Regular Fun things to do include going out to lunch, grocery and other shopping places and outings to places like Northwest Trek, holiday events and my favorite a trip to the Brown & Haley outlet store where I discovered Almond Roca comes in other flavors;) This is a place you must come see and meet the Executive staff here. Make a list of what you need and want in an assisted living retirement community and you will discover why I say it's a hidden treasure you might have not known about until now:)
