We found this facility upon referral. We called and set-up appointment to meet with Michelle Strong and discuss the needs of our loved one. We had planned a June move in date, but unfortunately circumstances arose that expedited the move in date. While our loved one was in hospital and we focused on her care, after notifying Michelle Strong with Avalon of situation she made the transfer of our loved one from hospital to Avalon seamless and easy given the situation. We are more than thankful for her help and our loved one has responded well to the staff and others at Avalon. Truly a God send and we highly recommend Michelle and Avalon!

Michelle helped us immensely when we were transitioning my dad from rehab to memory care after his accident. She was compassionate and knowledgeable, and she walked us through all of the steps of the process with kindness and patience.

My husband was there for a year. It was during the worst of Covid. While some of the staff were very kind and helpful, the director at the time restrained my husband, which is not allowed. He also fell and hit his head and wasn't discovered for quite a while (it was overnight and I don't believe they were checking on him regularly). Because we weren't allowed in for months, there was no way to check on him and his care.

My husband was a resident a the Keller location for 2 years before he passed away. They were kind, thoughtful and attentive. This truly became his home. I am grateful for the care they provided him.

The staff turnover was frequent. We took Mom out of Avalon because we didn't feel she was adequately taken care of. I purchased numerous clothes for Mom because she never got her things back after they were laundered. They would just dress her in other people's clothes. They played the music and videos in the common area so loud, you couldn't carry on a conversation. Some of the music and videos were inappropriate for elderly dementia residents. I could give more details, but it’s not pretty. For the amount of money you pay, you definitely don’t get your monies worth. I would not recommend Avalon at Keller.

Avalon's care for our mom during her final days could not have been better. No place will be perfect, but Avalon came close. My mom was always in good spirits and among the community. She needed a lot of care and she was not isolated. Avalon understands the stages and they do their best to accommodate the needs of each patient. They celebrate and give the best life to the residents. We could not be more pleased.

Avalon was a blessing. During the difficult time when I have to place my husband in a memory care facility they were very helpful, understanding and very compassionate. My husband was very happy living there for the two years his life lasted. I was always happy with them, Avalon is an excellent place, very caring, its personnel very compassionate with the residents and always present. I can't say enough how grateful I am of all the help and support I found in Avalon with their management as well as their nurses. For anyone looking for a place for their love ones, I highly recommend Avalon as the right home for those very difficult last years of life. it is truly a marvelous place of care.

I moved my 2 elderly parents into the Avalon in Keller over a year ago, and I have appreciated the care they have received from both the managers and the staff. Since their admission, I lost my father, and the manager was most helpful in securing a lovely new room in the same building. I make frequent calls to check on my mother, and they will assist in my speaking to her and/or will just offer me any updates on her care. There is consistency with the staff in these times of high job turnovers that I so appreciate. Let me add that I have found the staff over this past year to be consistently kind and patient with my mother and the other residents. Bottom line is that I am grateful for the Avalon in Keller.

We transferred my dad from another home to Avalon in Keller and were very satisfied with his care. The admissions process was smooth and Michelle went out of her way to help us with all the logistics of transferring him. The entire staff is engaging and clearly care about what they do. He couldn't communicate well but we knew he liked his care providers - he was always where ever they were, interacting as best he could. They were patient and attentive and kept him busy when he was restless, which seemed to be most of the time! Unfortunately, dad's health declined quickly but Avalon's entire ecosystem of physicians, hospice care and end-of-life care all worked together seamlessly to provide the best care possible. Every provider Avalon recommended was amazing - MMT (medical transport); Allstar Hospice; Merit Funeral Home; Christian Care .. everyone was responsive, knowledgeable and guided us every step of the way. Sadly, dad was only with Avalon for a short time before he succumbed to cancer but we still keep in touch with them. My only regret is that we didn't move dad to Avalon sooner - it was night and day compared to the home he was in previously. I highly recommend Avalon Memory Care Keller - they exceeded our expectations and we're so grateful to have found them!

Our Aunt Evalena was a resident at Avalon Memory Care in Edinburg, TX for a year and a half. She passed in October, 2021 at the age of 99. We are so thankful that she spent her last days at Avalon under the loving care of Maurice and Rita and their wonderful staff. We always knew that Evalena was safe and well-cared for, and we will always consider everyone at Avalon as dear friends. Thank you all so much . . . . Rick and Sarah Thuesen

My mother was at the Avalon in Keller from January 2021 until her death in November 2021. My mother was an assisted care resident and did not need the memory care aspect. The staff was very kind and loving to her. They would play cards and visit with her when they had a little extra time. Some even gave her hugs and kisses before they left for the day. Unfortunately, some of the aides were not trained in safe and proper ways to transfer from a wheelchair to a chair. They would pick her up like a sack of potatoes. She was dropped once that resulted in a broken femur and her head hitting the brick fireplace and her downward spiral of which she died a couple of months later. She was never able to recover and was in a lot of pain the rest of her life.

It is quite a difficult choice to find a place for your loved ones, especially when they have quite difficult needs. I placed both my parents, at different starting times, at Avalon. I believe that the level of care and communication have been really good at this facility. My family and I searched several facilities and my mother, while very docile, had some needs that several places would not consider. Avalon did not blink and has been focused on her her well being. My father entered care a year later and is a rather difficult case. Avalon has been steady in their care with focus on the well-being of my parents and I have been impressed considering the challenges that my parents present. Unfortunately with the COVID lockdowns that we have been embroiled with, things have been especially difficult. However, Avalon has continuously and tireless found way for me to stay in communication with my parents in accordance with ever changing local, State and Federal guidelines. All-in-all Ive been pleased with my parents care and feel that they are safe and healthy at Avalon.

Finding Avalon was an answer to prayer for us for my mother. We had her in two other care homes that were not good fit her. She fell often at the last facility before we moved her to Avalon. The care she received at Avalon was so much better. Everyone was so welcoming and caring. The further along her Alzheimers got the more care she needed round the clock. Her caregivers always responded to her needs. My mother ended up in hospice there and received excellent care. I highly recommend Avalon Memory Care. Sue is amazing!

I cant say enough positive things about Avalon. I became my grandmothers primary caregiver in early 2018. She had been in an assisted living facility for over 4 years but her care had progressed to a state that she needed true memory care. While I was not always pleased with her care at the current location, I was at a loss on where we could move that I would feel comfortable. Avalon was a referral by a family member because of the wonderful experience her aunt had at the Lake Worth location. Getting to know Avalon...From the moment the Area Director reached out to the time my grandmother passed, I felt like my own family members were caring for her. And me for that matter. The initial visit can always be 5 star but I will tell you that each experience I had was 5 star. The site director communicated with me regularly and helped to educate me when my hospice team would confuse me. And sometimes she would just call to tell me something funny my grandmother did. The facility itself was clean, the individual rooms were very nice and the food was fresh. The staff was always so friendly and social with the residents. I dont live close to the facility so I wasnt able to visit on a regular basis so I showed up different times of day when I would visit. Every time I showed up the experience was the same-the staff working with the residents, feeding them, celebrating birthdays or ensuring comfort in the open tv area. It was so refreshing to know my grandmother was in excellent care, especially since she could not communicate with me. Hands down without a doubt I will recommend Avalon as a first look for anyone trying to decide on care for their family member.

The best thing about Avalon is that it is all memory care which makes the facility more home like. There is no feeling of isolation which is apparent in facilities that share with assisted living or nursing home sections. The rooms are more like studio apartments with full facilities including a large personal shower. The staff is very warm and caring towards the residents , treating them like family. The kitchen is located in the common area and the meals are served immediately instead of being carted in from another location. I have been able to eat with my wife several times and the food is well prepared and very good.

The most difficult part of my mothers long journey with dementia was finding a suitable place for her when we could no longer care for her at home. It was so upsetting for all of us to have to move her from place to place because of lack of adequate care, dirty and unsafe living conditions, suspected mistreatment, and a general lack of concern for her wellbeing. We ultimately realized that most caregivers and facilities management lacked training, knowledge and experience in caring for Alzheimers and Dementia patients. At one self-described memory care center, Mom was improperly medicated and ended up in the hospital for three weeks. We were truly blessed when a hospital social worker put us in touch with a placement advisor who wholeheartedly recommended Avalon Memory Care. It was truly a Godsend! Everyone in the Avalon organization was kind, knowledgeable and reassuring in their approach to providing top-notch care for Mom. Avalon made arrangements for us to bring Mom directly from the hospital and staff met us in the driveway to welcome her to her new Avalon home. From that moment on, Mom received the very best quality of care as well as genuine affection from the caregivers and staff. As with many dementia patients, Moms behavior could be difficult at times but she was always treated with compassion and dignity. The calm confidence of the Avalon staff in dealing with Mom and other residents was both comforting and reassuring for my family. Moms room was always spotless, her clothes were always clean, and she was always meticulously dressed and groomed. We visited Mom on a regular basis, but the staff frequently contacted us to keep us updated on her progress and condition. The Avalon facility at Keller is a beautiful place, but the real beauty is in the dedicated caregivers, staff and management who provide their very best to their residents. Deborah Kircher

My mother was a resident last year at Avalon Memory Care in Keller, TX. I greatly appreciated the staff, management and owner for their kindness towards my mother and their professionalism on running a clean, healthy facility. They were able to accommodate my mother on short notice due to her previous facility closing due to bankruptcy. The staff and owner moved quickly to help my family during that difficult event and allow my mother and others from the previous facility a nice place to stay and be safe. Unfortunately, my mother passed away in December 2019, but I will always appreciate how Avalon Memory Care in Keller, TX treated my mother with great care and attention.

Avalon has become like a second home to our family. The staff have both taken great care of my mother and become her and our friends. The other residents are like family as well, a whole new set of aunts and uncles who we love dearly. The food is great as well.

I cannot day enough positive things about Avalon memory care. My Aunt was in a luxurious facility in Louisiana but the staffing and care was abysmal. This LA facility touted they were a memory care but they were completely unknowing about the phases-levels of degeneration of dementia. Conversely, Avalon staff members are well versed in dementia and are very hands on with their residents. The residential home is much like a real home with comforting meals accompanied by music from my Aunts era. The activities while simple (threading Cheerios to feed the birds) keeps the residents engaged. The staff is loving and patient with my Aunt. It has been hard during covid to connect with her and Avalon has done everything possible to allow us to bond. Everything is provided for the residents, there is a continuum of care from a physician and NP. Recently, my Aunt had a dental issue and an outstanding mobile dentist was made available. My aunt is comfortable, safe and receives extraordinary attention from the staff. Avalon is all we could ask for and we feel nothing but gratitude for the wonderful people that work there. Without reservation I would recommend Avalon for your loved one.

When I was looking for a memory care facility to place my mother-in-law in, I had look at about 12 nursing homes with memory care. I had setup a meeting with Michelle Strong. When we were talking, she would say things that was what my mother-in-law was going through. Very professional and intuitive about the needs for my mother-in-law. We moved into a room where we were able to make it look as homey as possible. All the staff we have been in contact with that cared for my mother-in-law was very professional and caring. My mother-in-law did not have the best bedside manners. She was ruthless and gave the staff a run for their money. The staff new what my mother-in-laws condition was and still cared for her as if she was part of their family. If an incident happened, I would get a call. If I had concerns, they would address them. The place never smelled like a nursing home or felt like one. If I had it to do all over again, I would use Avalon Memory Care. They know what is happening to our loved ones and what the families are going through. My mother-in-law was there for almost three years. I am very thankful to Sue Boyd, who would give her right arm to keep the residents as safe as humanly possible. She went above and beyond caring for my mother-in-law. If you are in need of a memory care facility for your loved one, Avalon Memory Care is the place for your loved one.

My mother has been living at Avalon for two years. We love the staff as they are very friendly and engaging with my mother. The decor of the Memorycare is very homey and not overwhelming so it was easy for the residents to get around and for families to visit. I liked that its not noisy and if we want we can visit in her room or outside in the courtyard. They often have entertainment scheduled during the day. My mom loves the singers that come in! Sometimes I come and watch myself. The food is very nutritious. Im happy that she loves the dining experience. The Memorycare is close to me so I often visit many times a week. I could not say enough about my experiences here. Im glad that we chose Avalon.

My wife had advanced Parkinsons disease and some other medical problems, and I needed a place to take her where I had some confidence that she would get a good level of care and attention. I have had some experience with long-term care facilities in the past with some older relatives and friends, and was very reluctant to place her in any care facility, but due to her physical and mental health I had little choice. My kids and I did quite a bit of research and met with several care facilities, and decided that Avalon Memory Care was the most promising. Every meeting we had with the Avalon representatives, including a preliminary visit to their Keller TX location gave us a good feeling about their organization. So when she was discharged from the hospital my wife went straight to Avalon in Keller TX. The manager for the Keller TX facility is amazing. She consistently impressed my family with her concern for my wifes comfort and care. I saw this attitude extended to other patients there as well. I spent quite a bit of time there visiting my wife and I had the opportunity to see the Avalon staff members interact with numerous patients. They showed the same level of care and attentiveness at all times. My wife was only a resident there for a few weeks, but once she was there we never had any regrets or second thoughts about placing her in that facility. If anyone has a loved one with Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Dementia or other memory issues, that needs to be admitted to a care facility, I believe you would find no better place to put them than at Avalon Memory Care.
