I’ve been a PTA providing physical therapy services in this area at various facilities for 13 years now, and I have to say I’m really impressed with what this building has become. Their new nurse Bilyndra is amazing and was the missing piece they have needed to unite and empower a truly caring wonderful team. There are so many kind and friendly staff members and residents here I always enjoy my time treating in this building.

My husband, Jim, has been there since the middle of March and I want to share his, and my, affection for the wonderful staff who are very kind and encouraging. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I want to especially point out Staci , who went on a week’s vacation the day after Jim was admitted (late on a Friday) and told me to call her anyway with any questions or problems. I DID call and she was happy to help. Mary, the med tech, has been SUPER at helping me work out all his medications in the transfer from Grapevine medical center. Jim broke his femur and has been having both PT and OT at Truewood. He also has memory problems. He’s making great progress! Therapy is a separate fee. I’m there almost every day and all the residents I’ve talked to have been happy there.. I’ve loved the activities they have for them-especially the groups who come to sing all those beautiful old songs. Jim tells me he nailed a recent activity which required knowing songs and artists from the 60s and 70s. The price you pay depends on the needs of the resident. There is an evaluation done every 6 months by nursing staff. I expect Jim’s price to come down next time due to his progress. I do have to say that we couldn’t afford for Jim to stay there long if we didn’t have good long term care insurance. They’re very good at going over everything with you prior to your decision to move in. For me, my hubby is 2 minutes from our home now rather than half an hour.

My aunt is living here and loves it. The staff is so friendly and gives great care to her. They have a community dog, Josie, that brings so much joy to my aunt and the other residents. She has made so many friends because the residents are so kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend Truewood Keller.

Great facility! Clean and very welcoming. I came there to visit my aunt and was pleasantly surprised!! The staff were amazing and the facility was spotless. I would highly recommend them to anyone if they are looking for somewhere to let their loved ones live. Memory Care This facility seems great when you tour. If you have a family member who has mild memory care issues and needs little to no assistance this may be the right place. If you have a family member who is easily confused and needs a lot of tender care and redirection I caution you to look elsewhere. When I have tried to bring issues to care staff there are a lot of excuses and overall no leadership presence for accountability. The food has been good. Depends on your needs but I do not recommend for memory care. I have had other family members in memory care facilities and we have added our family member to a wait list elsewhere.

Our journey with Truewood started a few years back when we started looking for the best place for our parents to live when they could no longer be at home . A coworker recommended Truewood and gave rave reviews about the facility and staff. Despite several attempts to get our family there - the timing of availability and location to our other family members , Alan never gave up on us and helped with vital senior care information regardless of not having a resident full-time . The opportunity finally aligned and we moved my mom in a few weeks ago . The staff is wonderful - Alan, Brandy, Stacie , Dee, Cheryl, Rodney, Estella and so many others have been so helpful and supportive to us and most importantly mom. She has adjusted well and loves the food, and environment. We are so grateful to our friend for steering us to Truewood .

My wife is just completing her first 6 months in the memory care unit. Felt right from the start, caring staff, strong leaders. Erica is a fantastic listener. Kemi provides activities that keep the residents happily engaged. Looked at 4 providers before selecting Truewood. Size of unit (23) and all single rooms were also important to us.

Shakemma R. Kime is the Activity Director here in the memory department at Truewood at Keller. She is 100% authentic and present with her residents. She is super present. Residents love her, she paints their nails, gives haircuts to all who are given permission, curls and styles... most of all boy she will bust a move with or all them at the same time. She challenges them with cognitive games, and they don't ever even realize they are working because she always makes it fun for them . To top it off, she starts off each holiday or time of year with Memory Care decorated beyond what you can imagine. The residents wake up with eyes wide open and are beyond excited--- okay not only the residents but families and look forward to all decorations!!! If you can't tell , I can't say enough good things about Kime- she's one of a kind and definitely well loved!!!!

We have just wrapped up our first year at Truewood and I have to say it has been a big improvement from the last place! From Day 1 it felt like the right fit for my mother. At 88 years old she has a lot of challenges but the teamwork amongst the staff has made it easier for both of us. They are great to work with and some of them have already been down this road with their own parents so there's a noticeable level of empathy and understanding of the challenges that go with the care of our loved ones. The other thing that really stands out is the residents themselves. I have gotten to know and care about many of them, it's a great bunch of people and a great environment of love, support and caring!

We moved my mom in a couple of months ago to Truewood & it has been everything we could have hoped for. My mom is enjoying it & is being loved on and cared for everyday. The staff truly goes out of their way to make the residents feel at ease. We are so grateful to have found a place for her.

Moving my 94 year old step-mother into Truewood, 3 months ago, couldn't have gone any better. The facility and entire staff have been outstanding! As a result, we recently moved my 92 year old mother-in-law in as well! They are both enjoying the carefree lifestyle at Truewood.

I went to preview the services, staff and resources and was pleasantly surprised. The staff welcomed me, gave me hug when I hot upset about having to put my Mom in Memory Care. They were so genuine,caring and compassionate. The Memort Care area is behind locked doors with a keypad. When you walk in it almost seems like your walking into a family gathering! Every one there was smiling, helping residents and attentive. They all welcomed me with a great smile. Very genuinely glad to see me. I felt like I was part of the family. Definitely a great atmosphere for my Mom. The rooms are small but Cosy. The staff walks around to check every, at least, 15 minutes. I trust that they will take great care of my Mom. Clean, welcoming, and attentive.

My mom has been a resident in the Garden House at Truewood for a year. The staff is patient, kind, and respectful no matter what mood mom is in. They smile and engage with her to get her to participate. Our family does not have to worry knowing she is receiving wonderful care. Erica, Clara, Kemi and the rest of the staff are top notch.

My mom has been at the Memory Care part of Truewood in Keller for 2 years. Although it is not an easy thing to watch a parent slip further into dementia- I feel very comfortable and confident with the care she receives at Truewood. When Erica took over the Memory Care section (Garden House) - I noticed that she is truly interested in hearing feedback and concerns and she takes care of things quickly. She is very approachable and responsive. There are so many ladies that work in the Garden House that go above and beyond and of their way to take care of my mom and I truly appreciate them.

My Mom made the move to Truewood from SC last December. We chose Truewood because of the People. It’s just the right size so that it has a Everyone Knows Your Name feeling. They care for my Mom as if she were family. Truewood isn’t perfect, No place will be perfect for your loved one but Truewood is close. Any issues that have popped up, they address them and make it right. I’m a Daughter first and RN second. There were certain things I wasn’t willing to compromise on. I looked for Safety first. Secondly, I needed to know that my Mom would be loved and respected and lastly I looked for Cleanliness. With Nurse Brandy and NP Pam, My Mom physical status is the best it’s been in over a year. Her caregivers and Med Techs treat her like she’s their Mama. Lol. I love to watch them care for her. They feel like family to us. The facility makes all effort to prioritize cleanliness. It smells fresh with no lingering odors. Truewood made an Excellent decision when they brought on Activities Director (Christie). She is a high energy, loving, sensitive and fun addition. I remember the day she started and it was a Great Day! She keeps the residents engaged and busy. A decision to move a Loved One to Assisted Living or Memory Care is HARD. Truewood has been our next best choice after Home.

My mother moved to Truewood about 3 years ago and is very happy there. She made the transition from assisted living to Memory Care last October. Our family is very appreciative of the care she receives. Every person on staff is loving and attentive. The memory care director, Erica, has been very responsive any time an issue arises. Plus, she and the activities director, Kemi, provide a lot of fun activities. I particularly love how many musical events they have for residents to enjoy and that Memory Care residents get to attend and mingle! We are so blessed to have found Truewood. It has exceeded my expectations and I have recommended it to many of my friends! So grateful!

Truewood in Keller,TX is hands down amazing! It offers independent, assisted, & memory care. The entitiy is on the smaller side so the staff truly gets to know each resident. Speaking of the staff, they are incredible! They are friendly & fun & better yet CARING! My mom has resided there for a little over 2 years & is thriving beautifully! They provide 3 delicious meals a day, 7 days a week, & a huge variety! TONS of activities on site & off site w phenomenal activities personnel! The ladies are so fun! No worries if u use a walker or wheelchair, they will help u on the van. Truewood is about helping u live your best life to its fullest & encouraging folks to participate in social activities. They bring amazing entertainment into the facility too! Like live music, dancers, casino, etc! It’s always beautifully decorated for the season/holiday! It’s super clean & bright! They have great medical staff on site! Amazing maintenance man! Hair salon! Beautiful courtyard w a turtle pond! Offer church service & daily movies! Puzzle room! BINGO! Library! Weekly manicures! They have a snack cart w all kinds of goodies like Snickers candy bars, chips, wine! What more could u ask for other than living here starting at the age of 20! Come check it out yourself!

The love and care we have experienced here has been amazing from the nurses to the front desk staff to the kitchen staff. We love the PT staff and the exercise room that is equipped for the therapists to come in house and see our loved one onsite. The entertainment is the best part and our loved one enjoys it each week. Moving our loved one here added years to his life and took his loneliness away. What a blessing to have such a great facility in our community!

My Mother at age 92, having lived independently, needed extra support. We toured many assisted living facilities but kept coming back to Truwood by Merrill. The warmth and genuine friendliness by both the staff and residents made our visits so welcoming. Her decision to move there was smooth although difficult for her to leave familiar surroundings , however , we are 2 years later very happy we did. Truwood is not a grandiose entrance, it’s a little beehive of activities, entertainment, walkers, dogs on Sundays, turtles in the garden, entrance greeters, bingo players, puzzlers, lunch goers, school choirs, guitar players, craft classes, Mardi gras parades, Mother’s Day luncheons, and much more. The Activities are on the chalk board every morning , do what you would like, or not. It’s the small community that keeps things cozy. The staff has been consistent for pretty much 2 years which tells me a lot about the stability of both management and the quality. Thru bumps and sickness my mother has been cared for very well. The nurses and aides are very very good . No place is perfect as we age, but I would say Keller Truwood is someplace I am happy my mom has found a home in.

My sister and I visited with Alan Yarbrough, the Community Relations Director this past weekend to discuss our parents and moving them to Truewood. One thing we noticed was how happy the residents were that lived there. We even had a pleasant conversation with a few of them. They love living there and they love Alan. He knew everyone by name and everyone knew him. Everything there was clean, inviting and smelled good. Alan was extremely knowledgeable in helping us understand the process we would go through when moving our parents to their new home. He helped ease our concerns as much as he could. When the time is right, we will feel comfortable in our decisions and do what is best for our parents. Truewood would be a safe place for them and I can see them making a whole new group of friends.

We brought our Mom to Truewood about 5 months ago in a wheelchair, completing a transition from independent living, to a hospital, to rehab, and finally to Truewood. At 89 years of age, this new life made her mental and emotional well being uncertain and tenuous, requiring us to visit almost daily. Fast forward 5 months, and weekly visits to Mom now give ME strength! She is miraculously out of the wheelchair, enjoying new friends and amazing activities, loving her clean room and living spaces, eating three prepared and wonderful meals a day, and finding love and encouragement and strength from the incredible staff there at Truewood. We are now doing something we did not think we would be doing, planning her 90th birthday party! May God bless the wonderful people that love and care for my Mom and so many others there at Truewood! While we give God the glory, they have truly contributed to the emotional, spiritual, and physical strength to not only live, but thrive!

My mom and I met with Alan today and he was just a gem! He had a lot of information and gave us some potential hard truths, but in the most kind and compassionate way possible. He gave us a very thorough tour of the facility. He was very knowledgeable and incredibly kind. We also got to meet with Donna and she was just as kind. We have not made a decision, but would highly recommend giving Truewood a tour!

First and foremost I want to say, the Truewood by Merrill community in Keller is outstanding. It is outstanding and special because of the people who dedicate themselves to bringing special grace to older people who need a community to belong to, for whatever reason. Every staff member I have interacted with is kind, caring, professional and always gives 110% to help the residents and their families. So thank you to the entire Truewwod Keller community, we will be forever grateful. Each and every one of you is a uniquely special human being, the world could use so many more of you. What your community is and does for its residents made the decision to move my Mother a very difficult one. Mom really likes her home and the community. Family of course plays a critical role in Mom's life but that is different than the Truewood Keller community which is truly Mom's home. I can only hope Mom's new community comes close to the standard you have set. We know how fortunate we were to have had Mom at Truewood for the last year and a half.
