Waveny was a godsend for our family. After a sudden medical emergency, my father recovered in short-term rehab and then transitioned into memory care at The Village. The compassion, professionalism, and warmth we experienced at every step were extraordinary. The staff didn’t just manage his care”they uplifted his life and quickly became like family. He had a beautiful view of the garden from his room, which he loved. It made his space feel like home. The conversations we had with staff showed they had truly taken the time to know him as a person, not just a patient. That meant everything. The Inn Independent Living is Fantastic and yes 5 stars across the board. It’s a smaller and cozy facility where everyone knows everyone (unlike all the larger facilities) Katerina Tchakarov who runs the Inn is simply AMAZING, she runs a tight ship with kindness and grace. She is always available to assist with any and all issues, her staff loves her and so do the residents. All residents are treated like kings and Queens. The front desk staff Delia and all her team always welcomes you with a smile and ready to assist day or night. My mom has been a resident of Waveny’s Village memory care unit for almost a year. We are happy we decided to move her here! She is happy, safe, and well cared for. The staff is on top of her needs and have also made good recommendations (such as a different style walker) that have improved her quality of life. There are so many opportunities for engagement and stimulation with daily activities. She had almost none living in her home. Although we can’t reverse her inevitable mental decline, we can see an improvement in her energy and outlook. My 96 year old mother went into Waveny Care Center mid January of this year for a fractured hip and wrist. Everyone there was amazing, from Tom the Social Worker, to Irene/OT to Leah/ PT, Jim/RN, Cathy/RN,Stephanie/RN, and so many more nurses and aides to mention, they took incredible care of her. My mother was in pretty bad shape when she arrived at Waveny but due to the excellent care she received she made remarkable progress and was able to use her walker to leave the facility, she couldn't have done it without the care she received at Waveny! The Inn at Waveny is a wonderful place! The rooms are nice, there's a lovely living room where residents spend their time but the real treasure is the team working there. I moved my parents into The Village at Waveny assisted living facility in February of this year. I feel very lucky to have found them. From the help they provided me in navigating through the initial application and move-in process to the support during my parents initial transition to assisted living, to the ongoing care they receive, I’ve been very pleased. The staff is wonderful - caring, hard-working, empathetic, consistent, and responsive. The programming is terrific - from concerts to games to exercise classes, etc. I enjoy my visits there and love the familial setting that has been created for all the residents. At 100 I fell and broke my hip I went to a rehab in Wilton and it was horrible (Waveny didn’t have a bed) we had to get me out of that rehab and back home and my family called Waveny. The came right over and went through everything and really helped my family who were very stressed out. I had Goesta Schlegel as my OT and Wendy Boller as my PT they were both amazing!! They both are so caring and kind and made us feel so comfortable. And because of those two I’m walking on my own and doing most things in my home. I can’t say enough about them and me and my family thank them so much for all they had done. I would use Waveny again in a heart beat to come to my house for PT and OT .

I arrived at Waveny 30 days after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke in Florida and just as Covid 19 was starting to ramp up. I was in need of physical, occupational and speech therapy. Because of Covid 19, coming from a Florida hospital required that I go into isolation for my first 14 days. The professionals at Waveny found ways to provide my various therapies under unusual circumstances and I thrived because of what they were able to do. I would visit her around lunch time and the staff was truly amazing , i dont get some of these peopkes reviews because my grandmothers care was the upmost importance to me . The food was great and we would get to chat with other guests . Great place highly recommend

My Mom was there for rehabilitation 2 years ago. Pros: food good, quiet private room, clean. Mom got exercise and movement getting up out of her room when she could eventually walk while there. . Lovely facility and grounds. Administration was informed and helpful at discharge. Cons: it is understaffed. Walking the halls your hear bells ringing for nurses, many elderly people in their rooms calling out help me! , but I didn’t see more than 1 CNA and maybe 1 nurse (if you can find her) handling an entire wing. It’s like a ghost town! Where are the nurses? Mom confirmed very long wait times, sometimes up to 1/2 hour before anyone came after she pressed the call button. That’s a long time to wait for a bed pan!

This is the nicest nursing facility I have visited. I have spent a lot of time there over the past 3 weeks visiting a family member there. The food is good. The rehab staff is excellent. Management is responsive. If I could take away a half of a star, I might. Sometimes the aids take a while to come when residents ring and sometimes there are call bells that seem to ring too long. Also, most residents of the rehab unit do not have private rooms.
