We love Symphony at Mentor! My mom was at another residence down the street and I am so glad we moved her here. ALL they do is care for residents with Alzheimers/Dementia and they do it best. Mom is healthy, happy and kept very busy! They even had a Prom last month! The staff feel like family and we don't see new faces every few weeks like the last place. And when I can't be there to visit, they post pictures of my mom on Facebook so I can see her smile - a small but priceless touch°

Jeanne the director of sales and marketing is the absolute best! She is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She takes her time with you and has so much pride in her facility. It's very clean and orderly and the patients are happy and smiling and having fun. She's so creative in the events that she has. It's truly been a blessing meeting her! I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking for placement!

Mom arrived at Symphony and was greeted by caring and attentive nurses and staff members. Everyone listened to her asking about her preferences, interests and care needs. All of mom’s questions and ours were answered. Soon after she was having lunch with the woman who lives across the hall and was assisted and encouraged to eat by a compassionate aid/ mom had lost too much weight. All staff knew her name upon arrival. Communication with the Symphony care team has been outstanding- mom herself wasn’t quite ready to leave her home but after her fall we needed a safe and happy environment for her. Her confusion at night was getting a bit worse and now don’t need to worry. Symphony understood our concerns and has provided activities and a new set of friends including a few familiar faces from town.

Mom has lived at Symphony for a year and a half and the experience has been positive. There is a core staff of employees that we have gotten to know who make it homey. I’m always impressed that they know real time information even when I make unexpected calls or visits and they know and care about mom. Special shout out to Mariah and Michelle who manage various enjoyable activities for the residents and to Bethany for creating baking experiences and to Michelle and Debbie who manage reception. The leadership from Robin and Nicia are evident and appreciated. I feel confident in mom’s care and her safety and whenever I have raised any concern it is immediately addressed. There is nothing easy about experiencing your parent going through memory loss, but the staff at Symphony has demonstrated care and understanding with the residents and their families. If anything, I’d like them to keep me even more informed of mom’s progression and help me to be a better supporter where they see fit. I do appreciate they seem to have created an environment without judgment which I appreciate. The staff’s work is clearly difficult but also rewarding and I can see that the staff is held accountable to provide good care. That gives me peace of mind. I give 4 vs 5 stars as there is always room for improvement. Food is good but mom sometimes complains. Laundry sometimes gets lost. And my biggest concern is that there is no reliable systematic way to make immediate contact with staff. Too much reliance on the reception staff when available or interpersonal texting to specific individuals even during their off hours. For the $ paid, there needs to be a well communicated process to call in and get someone when needed va sometimes having to leave a message on the general phone number and hoping for a prompt reply.

I loved this place for my dad. It is very clean, and the staff is great. The only real downfall is they do not accept Medicaid, so we had to move my dad once the money ran out.

Our mom has been a Symphony at Mentor resident for a little over a year. She is happy and well taken care of by a consistent team of professionals with the training, patience, and compassion for loved ones who need memory care. No matter when we go for a visit, the property is secure, staff are welcoming, and the facilities and her living space are clean and tidy. The menu always looks good and she enjoys participating in various activities. It gives us peace of mind knowing mom is comfortable, cared for, and treated with respect.

My wife has been a resident of Symphony at Mentor for nearly three years. When it became impossible to deal with my wife’s Alzheimer’s at home my daughter and I toured several memory care facilities that had been recommended to us. Symphony at Mentor was neither the newest nor most conveniently located, but after talking with people at Symphony we were confident that they would care for Joanne the best. Nearly three years later we have no reason to regret our decision. The staff at Symphony—from management to maintenance—demonstrate affection and concern for residents. I’ve seen a food service worker sit down with an upset resident to help her eat lunch, and management folks get out on the dance floor, bringing smiles to residents’ faces. There are so many good people who work at Symphony I don’t dare try to list them all for fear of forgetting someone important. I do want to mention one exceptional aide, Tessa. She’s clearly my wife’s favorite, which of course makes her mine. When Tessa walks into the room it without fail brings a smile to Joanne’s face. While Joanne can’t communicate verbally very well, the affection she has for Tessa is obvious. As is Tessa’s for her. I’ve also watched this dedicated and enthusiastic young lady with other residents, and in my book she’s top notch. Her attitude is amazing: about a year into Covid craziness I remarked to her that coming in to work must be stressful. Her response? “Not at all, I look forward to seeing my ladies.” This answer showed why Joanne is cared for so well. I feel very lucky to have warm, dedicated people like this caring for my much-loved wife. .

Kudos to the Symphony Team: Terry, Traci, Marnie, Sandy and everyone. So pleased with their services and care. If an issue arises, it is dealt with immediately. Both my parents are at Symphony and we made a good choice. The nurses, aides and everyone, including the activities ladies and the food service team, are all the kindest people. Shout out to super care giver Carm!

From the very start, Symphony at Mentor has been exceptional in their care. After a minor fall my Papa, who had Parkinson's and dementia, was being bounced around from hospital to rehab to hospital due to his difficult behaviors. It was a very hard and confusing time, and we were struggling to understand his needs. At the recommendation of a social worker, we decided to move him to Symphony at Mentor. Immediately, the staff at Symphony understood Papa's behaviors and began working with him. They have a very loving and safe environment where Papa was able to be out of bed and walk around the community. This caused an immediate change in his attitude and he began to improve. The staff there was terrific - very loving and helpful. They listened to our concerns and worked with us to reduce many of the medications prescribed in hospital to control Papa's behaviors. This brought another substantial improvement to his daily living. The Symphony staff repeatedly showed love and care for Papa like he was a family member. We saw this in their actions and attitudes day after day, even during the messy parts of elder care. The staff watched over Papa and cared for him 24/7 in ways we were unable to do at home. Now that Papa's journey is complete, we honestly look back and are incredibly happy for trusting Symphony with his care. We truly know we gave him the very best - no regrets.

I cannot say enough about the staff here. Everyone is kind and go out of their way to make sure we are comfortable about the care of our loved one. No question is too small to get an answer. They check in every week to make sure we are okay and check to see if we have any questions. They care about us too. They check to see what kinds of food your LO likes, whats some of their favorites, etc. When Arranging for a visit and/or FaceTime calls they are so accommodating. And in this time of Covid they go out of their way to make sure everyone is safe. They take every precaution I can call anytime and talk to his nurse to see how he is doing that day When your LO has Alzheimer’s or any memory problem you cannot ask for a better place to take loving care of them. A place that only deals with this problem makes such a difference. Not having to deal with other age related illness keeps the focus on them. I am so thankful for Symphony at Mentor.

I cannot say enough praises for the staff at Symphony at Mentor. When I was forced to place my husband who suffers from Parkinson's Disease and dementia they made the transition so easy for me, and I walked out of there knowing he would be in good care. When you first drive in it looks like a lovely home in the woods with a wonderful wrapping front porch. He is at home there and all of the staff are so caring and treat the residents like members of their own family. They have all become like family to me as well. One of his main caregivers, Michelle, has been very special to me. It just seems like she goes above and beyond to see that he is well taken care of. However, I would also like to add how much I appreciate the care he receives from Crystal and Erica. They are all wonderful!

It's so refreshing to see that the staff at Symphony have a real mission to care for residents with dementia. They have the experience and the programs to make a difference in the life of each resident, regardless of what stage of memory loss the resident is experiencing. They are also so easy to talk to, give feedback and make suggestions. Special call out to all the caregivers who have given their love and support during the difficult months of Covid. I have had a great experience having my loved one at Symphony of Mentor. From the moment my loved one was made a resident of the facility the staff have made her feel like family. Prior to her going to Symphony, it was a very difficult decision to have her go into a facility. Looking back, I know now it was the correct decision. The staff keeps me update on her health and keep me informed of any changes. They continue to do a wonderful job caring for her during these difficult time with covid. I would highly recommend checking this facility out if your loved one needs 24 hour care. You would truly be making a good decision if they come to Symphony.

My sweet mother has been a resident here for 4 and a half years. The staff always does a wonderful job of caring for her. Because of coronavirus, I do not get to see all of the staff anymore, but I do get to see a few of the caregivers , when I come for porch visits, who are my favorites - Erica, Mariah and Mary Ann!!! They are tender and kind to my mom, and to me, and also to my dad who visited my mom almost every day when he was still alive. The day after my mom moved into her apartment at Symphony, she told my dad, "I am happy." Her words mean more than anything else I can say, but I will add my thank you to the entire staff at Symphony at Mentor: your dedication makes all the difference for our family! The level of care and patience shown by the staff at Symphony since Day 1 brings us comfort though a tough road. This year I was especially impressed with the way Lindsey led her team through the difficult changes related to COVID-19. She worked diligently to keep family, staff, and residents connected, healthy, and upbeat. I am grateful we found this "home" for my mom.

My Mom has been at Symphony for 3.5 years and is in the final stages of Alzheimer's. I always have been touched and impressed by the loving care Mom has received at Symphony. This increased all the more during COVID. I got reports and updates not only from the director, but also from the staff. Traci Labry and her staff of nurses and aides have gone over and above my expectations. Trace was feeding Mom one day and Mom was having a "good" day. Traci called me on my cell phone and we did a face to face call so I could watch Mom as she sang and actually smiled - a treasured response! Another time I dropped off items for Mom and I saw Trina, one of the kitchen staff, at the door. Trina told me how well Mom has been eating and that she is doing OK. After I dropped off the items, I went around outside to see Mom through the window. This was not planned and no one knew I would do that. I saw Mom in her chair sleeping. So peaceful. And I saw a neat room, bed made, Mom dressed and Erica was feeding Mom's roommate with much gentleness. It is a comfort to know Mom is always in good hands that love her and care for her. I thank God every day for the wonderful staff at Symphony.

The staff at Symphony are AMAZING. You sense the genuine care from each of them. It's such a clean and comfortable facility. The activities team keep the residents active in mind and body. The nursing staff ensures their care on every health level. The ladies who prepare Mom for the day and tuck her in at night are all kind and patient. The dietician and cooks and food servers are incredible, too. Fabulous, healthy, home-cooked meals served with a smile. I started Mom off with daycare, then full-time in late February. Their response to Covid has been exceptional. I highly recommend Symphony at Mentor.

Bare minimum care, dementia patients roaming the interior communities, unattended will ultimately lead to an accident. Staff to resident ratio is too low for proper care. MGMT really tries to perform, but it's some of the staff and their knowledge, training and attitude that is lacking. Staff cell phone usage is abused.

Day shift staff is excellent. Unfortunately still having issues with the second shift locking my mom out of her room as a punishment and also as a convenience to the staff. Totally unacceptable to lock mom out of a room she pays dearly for even with a sign on her door to not lock it. Her needs are being neglected to go lay down or use her own restroom as she desired.
