Among the many feathers in Verena cap is its thorough knowledge of one thing: how to work to keep us residents happy and comfortable. A driver of that culture is Mary Weaver, whose verve and vitality keeps our spirits up and our days busy. In the evenings, Annette Wieczorek manning the concierge desk sees to it that nothing and no one interferes with that while she finds time to solve any and all problems that arrive late in the day.

Love living at Verena at Gilbert. Plenty of activities. Food is great, staff is very accommodating. Especially one of our housekeepers, Isabel's, the best I ever had. Eva at our front desk, Morgan one of our food servers. I recommend to come and check us out. I have been here a year.

If you are looking for a senior community to live in, be sure to check out Verena at Gilbert. We left for a couple of years and we are now back and so very happy to be back. One of the greatest things about Verena is the food. We had Filet Mignon and Twice Baked Potatoes the other day and it was so good. Definitely restaurant quality! And this is only one of the great things about Verena at Gilbert.

Very nice complex. We were given a very thorough tour. There are several apartment options. The ones with a two car garage are great for extra storage space. Everyone was welcoming and friendly.

My wife and I have been living at Verena for a year now after trying two other communities. No comparison; Verena is far above the other two. If you are looking for a clean, friendly place to live with great food, this is the place. They just added to the Housekeepers with Miah and she is great along with Servers such as Morgan, Nina and Kyliegh added to Emily and Shaun make meals a pleasure.

My mom has been living at Verena for the last 3 months and we have nothing but positive things to say about this place. The welcoming staff and friendly residents have truly improved the quality of my mom's life. She has gone from being isolated all day in her house, to being surrounded by new friends and joining multiple daily community activities. The food is delicious, housekeeping is amazing, and the transportation shuttle service has given her back a much needed sense an independence. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for independent senior living!

Amazing community! If you are looking for Independent Living this is the best around Gilbert. Great food, Engaging Socializing Activities, and don't even get me started about the amazing pool and patio.

I love the floor plan options as we are in the planning stage. The details that went into making the entire facility so welcoming were amazing. Every apartment had its own private balcony; none were cramped. This was the only place so far my husband has given a sign of approval.

Staff and residents friendly and helpful, decor very cheerful and upbeat, good food, many events planned. Location close to lots of shopping, medical, dental and eyecare plus bus transportation to same areas. Grounds nicely landscaped and maintained as well as the building and large pool area. I find the following people so ready to help and assist with any problems, issues and all are so welcoming: M'Chellan, Sue, Sheryl, Mary, Eva, Annette, DJ, Joey, Morgan. We also have very helpful servers in the dining area.

The restaurant is only accessible with sign-in via personally knowing a resudent. You may be able to get in with a few well placed bribes to the administration. its worth it as the food is delicious and healthy. Fresh tea, both sweet and unsweetened is always available and the bold coffee hits the spots with the daily dessert. Soup of the say is always on point

Perfect place for my mother-in-law. She moved in 4 months ago and has been having an enjoyable time meeting new people, while receiving exceptional customer service.Eva at the front desk goes out of her way to help residents and their visiting families. Her kindness and professionalism provide us with a peace of mind knowing my mother-in-law is in good hands.

My husband and I moved to Verena at Gilbert in Oct. 2021. We have enjoyed our time here and appreciate all of the staff members. DJ is the head of the maintenance for our facility and makes sure everything down to the light bulbs are working in our apartments. He keeps on top of everything with the help of Sarah, always smiling. Verena includes housekeeping and Isabel does a wonderful job keeping our apartment clean and fresh. The concierge, Eva, greets all the guest while taking care of answering our questions. Living here has made our life truly stress free.

My mother has been living at Verena for 2 years now (since May 2021), and the food quality and menu choices have improved considerably over that time. Most of the management, staff and employees are professional and attentive, and there's one employee in particular who stood out for my mother recently. Annette is the evening concierge, who helps residents and is a "community sentinel" at the front desk. On 07/09/23 I ordered air purifier filters on Amazon for my mother, and the filters were delivered that same evening to "Deb" (she signed for the box) at the front desk. I left a message for my mom that the filters had been delivered so, the next day, she went down to the front desk to retrieve them. Unfortunately, Deb no longer worked at Verena (she had resigned that same day), and no one could find the filters in the large pile of received packages for the residents. Over the next 9-10 days, 3 different people searched that storage room for the filters, but they couldn't find them. My mother had mentioned this situation to Annette and, on 07/19, Annette went into the back room and her diligence paid off- she found the filters underneath many other packages and even delivered it to my mom's residence (normally, the residents pick up their packages). My mother was extremely grateful to Annette for "going the extra mile," and not believing that my mom's package had been misplaced, lost, or never received. It's rare these days to meet someone so committed to their work; Annette surely made my mother feel special, and reinforced her satisfaction with living at Verena. Thank you, Annette!

Just moved my dad here in june and he couldn't be happier. He has loved the food almost every meal - so he is gaining weight and always telling me about the good food. He doesn't participate in activities like crafts, but he makes it to the ice cream parties and loves when they have little things like that. He enjoys the people, they don't seem to be "old" even though they are all old. He sleeps great now because it is extremely quiet for him and the floor plan is great. He rides a scooter and he can navigate the door ways in it easily. He can move around the spacious apartment with ease once he parks his little scooter. He has a nice kitchen - his only complaint is there isn't a large pantry but we have plans to repurpose the little coat closet because we don't need those really in AZ. The bedroom has a HUGE walk-in closet that accommodates his clothes very well. My mom is no longer with us, but it would have easily accommodated two people. The staff are very caring despite what someone in another review wrote. He gets personal attention, everyone knows him by name and his attitude has become so much more positive since moving here. They currently only offer a breakfast and lunch but it makes my dad happy and he just has a light snack at dinner on his own. Meals are to be expanded upon full capacity and he will be able to pick which two he prefers.

This community is newer and well kept but, VERY BORING. They have continued to over promise and under deliver. The transportation provided is limited or none at all, group activities are sporadic at best and the staff turnover continues to surge. The food offering of a continental breakfast and semi-hot lunch is bland, boring and repetitive. Upper Management continues to promise more activities, more transportation and better quality food but nothing ever happens. Do not let the pretty hallways skew your vision of unhappy residents who are very bored and leaving as soon as possible. Look elsewhere for a fun place to put mom/dad- activities are what they need in the golden years.

I love it here. Not assisted living...but independent, friendly, most expenses included. Kitchen is fine, not fully available all day/evening but that will come. as pandemic is better understood and controlled. More residents are coming in weekly, lots of activities, services such as weekly trip for groceries, doctors visits up to 10 miles from Verena. Location was important to me. Everything needed is within 2.5 miles, from all kinds of shopping (San Tan Village close with theaters), etc. And, the building is designed for seniors: high ceilings, every unit has a balcony, tall and wide doorways...on and on. It feels almost sound proof. Safe, solid, four floors and perfect for walking laps on too hot days or the windy/wet days.
