My parents made the move from their home of 20+ years in Laguna Beach, CA to the Vi this last Spring. It was a very difficult decision and overwhelming both emotionally and physically, especially given that it was a cross-country move. However, the Vi provided a great deal of support and made my parents feel welcome from the get-go. Everyone who assisted with the move was incredibly kind, compassionate and generous with their time. It was obvious that their primary goal was to make my parents feel welcome and settled in their new home as soon as possible. The Vi offers a vibrant community of people who want to connect and create shared experiences. The facilities, services and amenities are first class but it is the social outreach from both staff and residents that makes it second to none. My sister and I are so very comforted in knowing that my parents are in such good hands. I would highly recommend the Vi to anyone interested in becoming a part of a senior community that prioritizes care and compassion, social interaction, intellectual stimulation, physical exercise and a real sense of home and community.

Moving to the Vi was a major decision with many considerations. It certainly turns out to be the very best decision. The facilities, programs, and amenities are first class. A major point of difference compared to other senior living options is the hospitality industry heritage of the Vi which originally influenced the campus and structures and continues to this day in staffing and service excellence - like living in a luxury resort. The Vi staff and their level of genuine warmth, support, and 24/7 service deserves more than 5 stars. The cuisine of the 3 restaurants never disappoints. Lots of opportunities for exercise, the arts, activities - even tho I don't know bridge! I have great neighbors. Life is good.

We had very high expectations before we moved into The Vi, and these expectations have been exceeded! The staff is exceptional, and they are all responsive, friendly, and competent. The three restaurants are beautiful, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. The residents are accomplished and friendly folks. The gym, the swimming pool, and the Care Center are all first class. As we were told by one of the residents before we moved, "If you can't be happy here, you can't be happy anywhere!" We are very happy!!!

My husband and I recently moved into the Vi at the Glen in Glenview, Illinois. We couldn't have imagined how fortuitous a decision that would prove to be. Immediately we were struck by the friendliness of everyone we met. Offers to help us settle in came from both staff and residents. Many of our new friends have encouraged us to join them in a myriad of activities that keep them young in mind and body. For us the highlight of our day has become dinner. Six nights a week, we sir down to enjoy the tasteful bounties prepared by the Vi's amazing kitchen staff. Every Sunday brings a brunch that exceeds all expectations. We just need to make sure that we don't wind up gaining the "Glen ten." Fortunately, the Vi provides a plethora of physical and social activities designed to aid us in this regard. But the best of all the options our new life offers is our apartment, and for that we have to thank Aneta Niewinska, the Vi's move-in manager. It was her assistance and encouragement that enabled us to make a successful transition to the Vi. A move at any stage of life can be stressful, but when you're in your 80s and beyond, it rises to a new level. This is where Aneta's assistance was invaluable-her job was to make this time in our life as easy as possible. Prior to our move, she consulted us on changes being made in the apartment to accomodate our needs. She was our guide and mentor when we considered the various available options and helped us with these decisions. This ultimately led to an apartment which embodies everything we had hoped for in our new home. Aneta worked closely with various contractors and maintenance personnel to ensure that the apartment became the home of our dreams. Thanks to Aneta's guidance, expertise, and upbeat personality, we were able to stay focused and positive throughout. Our decision to move to the Vi has been validated on a daily basis.

Since moving to the Vi at the Glen a month ago, I have had some of my happiest days in a very long time. Every aspect of living in this community has far exceeded my expectations! The friendly, welcoming and supportive residents; the exceptional staff in every department; the beautiful, serene environment; activities to accommodate many interests and abilities; multiple dining options with 4 star cuisine are only a small part of my sense of well-being, security and a life well lived. My wife Peggy and I moved to the Vi in the Glen just over two months ago. Both of us are very pleased that we did make the BIG move which was totally supported by our three daughters. The sales team has been fantastic going back to the first day we visited the Vi and continuing on thru today. They don't forget you just because you are now a happy resident. Within the first couple of days after we moved in, heads of the various departments stopped by to make sure we were happy campers. Our jaws dropped when Claudio, the head of housekeeping rang our doorbell with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hand. The food and the service provided by the two dining rooms has been super! The quality and taste of the food is outstanding. The selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts is great. Like all of the employees at the Vi, the waiters, waitresses and supervisors do their best with a smile to boot. Regardless of the hour, the staff at the front desk is great. Our car is waiting for us in ten minutes or less after we call to have our chariot brought up from the secure and heated garage. They do the same for me when I would like my bike from the garage so I can get some outdoor exercise. Our cleaning lady does a super job weekly including changing the bedding on our king size bed which was alway a challenge for us. They do their best in striving to keep all of us healthy. We have found the fitness program to be a super benefit for both of us. The fitness coordinator Jorge maintains a four star program along with excellent equipment and indoor swimming pool. I could continue to go on with the many other benefits at the Vi but I don't want to take too much of your time. Peg and I are so pleased that a couple who are our dear friends for many years sold us on joining them for excellent senior living.

My parents moved into the Vi in 2004. My father passed away in 2014, and my mother has had a wonderful experience in Independent Living (IL) for two decades! She turns 97 in Feb, and due to recent health issues, has moved into Assisted Living (AL) after spending weeks in Skilled Nursing. The transition to AL was seamless, thanks to the compassionate effort and guidance of Sarah Watson, Director of Resident Services. Other staff at the Vi were very accommodating in preparing her new apartment in AL (including painting, carpeting, etc.) and the nurses and staff have been very supportive of our mother's needs. We are very grateful for the outstanding care and support that both parents have received at the Vi. I would highly recommend this community!

After 20 years in the VI's independent living, our 97 year old mom recently experienced a precipitous decline in her health. After a hospital stay the week after Thanksgiving, the Vi had her spend time in skilled nursing to ensure she can safely resume independent living. We determined that a move to assisted living would be best and fortunately, an opening in assisted living was coming available. She is now successfully moved into assisted living thanks to the attentive care and attention to detail provided by the entire staff during that transition. Prior to the move, our mom was apprehensive about losing her independence in skilled nursing and assisted living. However since experiencing the care provided in both skilled nursing and now in assisted living, she is very pleased with the move. The staff not only ensured a smooth physical move, but they have spent extra attention to ensure she integrates with the residents in dining, exercise classes, art activities and more. Whenever I off-handedly ask a staff member about any question, I later receive a phone call from a nurse, therapist, or social worker making sure that I received a sufficient answer. I've been beyond impressed by the professionalism and level of care in assisted and skilled nursing. The Vi has truly impressed me and lived up to a standard that I didn't think existed anymore in the "nursing care" segment. I would highly recommend the Vi for anyone evaluating independent living options. The value that the Vi provides throughout a person's lifecycle is impressive. The care and level of support in not just daily living but during times of transition (when the help is really needed) is delivered in a personable and caring way. The Vi may not be the low price alternative, but if you are looking for quality in care, the staff, the culture, facilities and services, I cannot imagine another facility topping the Vi at the Glen. I appreciate it more now than I did before as they have delivered on what I had always hoped would still exist in today's profit-focused world.

My mother lived in independent living for 14 years. She loved it was socially engaged and made many wonderful friends. At the age of 99 she realized that she needed help. The VI has made her transition seamless and also helped us organize the move to Assisted living. I cannot say enough about the staff at both Independent and Assisted living. They are helpful, cheerful and brighten her day. So glad she is safe and still engaged with many friends. Thank you so much to everyone.

We physically moved to Vi at the Glen on June 14th. We actually closed on March 22nd but we were unable to move until we prepared our Colorado home for sale. It was a large house so there was much to do. All of our design and selections had to be done remotely since we also have a condominium in Florida. Needless to say, it was a gigantic undertaking for us but thanks to Ellen and the entire Vi team, it all got completed with very little issues. Our Villa is perfect for us! One great recommendation from Ellen was to hire a move in manager, Meg, who helped us unpack and remove the boxes and packing materials! The movers and Meg came at 8:00 AM and everyone left at 3:00 PM with our kitchen organized, beds made and furniture in place! It was worth every penny we paid and the movers were delighted because they could leave early for their return to Colorado! Vi's selection process was easy to follow and all of our questions were answered promptly and accurately! A big thanks to all who helped us in our transition to senior living at the Vi at the Glen! We just celebrated Mom's 100th birthday in the special dining room of the Vi. The setting was lovely, and the meal was terrific. All we added were the photos, balloons, and the birthday banner made by her great-grandchildren. Mom was thrilled. The food was all excellent and the two folks who took care of us (Alex and Lana?) were charming and flexible as well as kind and attentive to the range of guests (aged less than one to 100). They were unfazed by the plane-delayed arrival of one group of guests, and everyone had a wonderful time. The weather cooperated and we were able to use the outdoor space next to the dining room. In short, everything went off beautifully. Through the years since Mom chose to move to the Vi, and then had to take advantage of the nursing care, and move to assisted living, I've been impressed by the quality of everything at the Vi. It was absolutely fitting that we had her 100th birthday at the Vi and the folks at the Vi did not disappoint.

Three years here at the Vi at the Glen has confirmed that we made the right choice. Arriving just after Covid19 ramped up it's assault, the Vi administration did a magnificent job in keeping residents as safe as possible. They tried to anticipate problems, were decisive, quick to respond and kept us informed. Further, we have found ALL the Vi staff to be just wonderful folk...both personally and professionally. Each care facility has it's own distinct personality, and the Vi at the Glen seems to match up well with us.

Exercise classes, discussion groups,, book clubs and they also schedule many concerts and entertainment to come in for the residents at the Vi . Many games are played at the Vi such as canasta, mah-jongg, bridge and rummikub. I am meeting a lot of wonderful people and I am enjoying life at the Vi. We moved into The Vi 4 months ago. I am very happy with our choice of this continuing care community. When you walk down the hallways staff and residents are smiling and welcoming. The dining rooms are lovely and the food is delicious. I have not cooked a dinner since we moved in, and I like to cook. We have been to a play in downtown Chicago, and I have been on a museum trip. Both events were arranged by and transportation was provided by the Vi. Perfect way to avail ourselves of the benefits of living near Chicago. Lifestyles department arranges musical entertainment, nights at Ravina, trips to restaurants, botanic gardens, baseball games, etc. I enjoy the fitness center equipment as well as the fitness classes I have attended. I have participated in Tai Chi, yoga, water aerobics, and balance and strength classes. Life here is busy and fun. Wellness Center arranges vaccinations, blood work at your apartment and more. We happen to live in a Villa, and we love it. Residents who live in the main building seem to also love their choice. My husband and I feel this is a perfect place to enjoy our retirement and grow old together.

From time to time my mom had to move into the Care Center after a hospitalization and the staff we encountered there could not have been more professional and personal. When she moved over into Assisted Living three years ago and finally into Skilled Care, not only was the same staff still there but they remembered my mom and became part of our family support system. Any organization that can retain staff with excellent qualifications and such compassion speaks volumes. My mother lived very happily at the Vi for eight years. She lived independently and loved the variety of activities, the food and the general ambience. When she no longer could live alone she moved to the Care Center. The support and care that she received for the last 16 months has been outstanding. Staff members from the director down knew my mother and did their best to insure that her quality of life was as positive as possible. The nursing staff and the CNAs created caring relationships with my mom. The nurses always took the time to answer my concerns as well. I hope that I'm lucky enough to spend my final years in such a wonderful environment.

Every living space is routinely inspected from both a life safety as well as appearance standpoint based on the highest possible standards. Residents are often consulted on portions of improvements that will affect them directly. We are so pleased with the programs, the accommodations, the food and the services but most importantly with the people. A lovely staff. Relatively nice appointments. Some confusion about trash, recycling habits that left my parents having to go to a different floor with their things. That went on for several weeks until I wrote a terse email. Because of COVID, my parents are unable to take advantage of most The Vi has to offer, so its difficult to accurately respond to a survey like this. I do think they have been very responsible keeping the residents virus free. Heres to virus free living at The Vi.

Over the past ten years I have interacted with Vi at the Glen in two ways. As the son-in-law of a resident there for six years, I was extremely impressed with the way in which management and staff created a culture that offered physical, emotional and intellectual stimulation for everybody, and went to great lengths to provide an ambiance that highly valued comfort and affluence. As a local reporter who did many stories featuring residents at the Vi, I know first hand how much the residents appreciate all of it. Many of her closest friends live here as well, so she has a built in social life. But she can also opt out and be by herself. I cant think of a better situation. Her apartment is spacious and very well appointed. Ellen (move coordinator) has the patience of a saint as we chose finishes and asked for some special upgrades. She has a terrific eye and takes good care of you. I especially wish to give a shout out to all of the staff for how they have handled this ongoing pandemic. The safety of their residents is top priority. The fact that my mother-in-law has only nice things to say speaks volumes. Trust me. The staff makes sure everyone gets their mail, their meals, and assistance on how to handle issues that pop up. All visitors are checked for temperatures and monitored for illness. Percentage wise there have been very few cases of COVID-19 here. I sleep better at night knowing that The Vi is on the case. Thank you!

My husband and I thought we would live in our beautiful, redone one-story home forever UNTIL our son introduced us to people at the Vi at the Glen. It was love at first sight and when we returned for an activity and lunch, we knew we had to move there. Sian Moynihan, the sales manager is wonderful! She is available 24, 7 even on weekends - by email or phone! We had furniture delivered and the staff let them deliver and place the furniture where we asked for it to be and sent us photos!!! Due to the Covid-19 virus, we will be moving in a few weeks, but we are able to pick up their delicious food that we order during the day from menus we are sent online. During this medical crisis, the activities are curtailed but they have programs and movies online and send puzzles with dinner!!! We look forward to spending the rest of our lives at the Vi at the Glen.

My mother was reluctant to leave the condo in which shed lived with my dad for 30 years--but when my brother and I visited the Vi with her, we had very little convincing to do. From the get go, Sian was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, understanding--the perfect combination. Since that time, my mother and I both have had only positive experiences. Everyone who works there is kind and generous of spirit. I was impressed how, after only a few days, everyone on the staff greeted my mom by her name. Her living accommodations are lovely--being in her apartment feels like being in a real home with all the luxuries one could want. With the coming of the coronovirus, it was obvious that the health and welfare of the residents was of prime importance--and as difficult as it might have been--and still is--the knowledge that she is in the best possible place she can be is both comforting and reassuring. From the head of the Vi to the people who work there in every capacity, there could not possibly be a better staff. I am grateful every time I go visit her to see her in surroundings such as this
