We were set up to move my Mom into Pennington Gardens this Monday, but was suddenly informed last night that my Mom can no longer move into the facility, ever, based on incomplete data from their nurse. Over the past month we have searched for a facility to take care of my Mom due to a continued decline in memory and reached out to their director Susan and was able to secure a room in their “memory care” wing of the facility. During the process, their nurse met with my Mom and had contacted her PCP for information and up until yesterday they became concerned that my Mom was on a antibiotic for a medical condition that she no longer has (tested negative early April). When I asked what my Mom’s PCP told them I was informed they had left a message an they did not respond. In literal a few hours we went from moving in on April 6 to “sorry, we can never take your Mom, but can help you find a place”. Please note that we have already given the notice at my Mom’’s current facility. The worse part is that I never spoke with the nurse. All of my Mom’s health concerns and denial came their director on site contacting me. The question becomes: do you want your loved one in a place where their director and nurse can make decisions like this in a vacuum and apply them to your already stressful situation.

I moved into the facility in 2022. I was sad to leave my home, but I had broken my back and had some other medical issues and couldn't live alone. From the beginning the staff has been so welcoming and has been such a great help to me. I now feel this is my home and the residents and staff are my friends. We have so much available for us here,,,,a home theater,Wii bowling, bingo, arts & crafts, dominoes and card games, gardening, trivia & chair exercises. If you don't want to participate you can just come and watch. We also have Happy Hour Thursday evenings and an Ice Cream Social on Saturdays. There is live entertainment. Weekly shopping trips. Trips to the library.. More being planned. 🙂 The place is beautiful and clean and a place you can be proud to call your home.

This is a wonderful community. I came in to move my mother into the community, and Jamie helped me with everything. He is such a delight warm heart really cares about everyone that he meets and helps move into the community. The community has wonderful food and the activities seem to be good also, I can't say enough about how much the Community Relations Director Jamie has helped our family with this transition. All the staff are wonderful and my mother is very happy with her move. We would recommend Pennington Gardens to anyone looking for a place for their loved one. Thank you to Jamie. And the rest of the team!!

OMG Pennington is outstanding! My 91 year old mother has been living there since June 2023 and she just loves it. The staff is so caring and friendly! The facility is very clean - none of the "smells" you associate with assisted living facilities. The food is yummy and there are tons of activities for your loved ones to enjoy. I would recommend PG to any family looking for a safe, clean and caring facility!!!

I highly recommend Pennington Gardens. This place has a supportive and caring staff. The apartments are clean, and the support staff takes good care of the residents. The chef prepares delicious meals. Their activities keep residents engaged and social.

The facility is awesome!! Everyone is very accommodating, friendly, courteous, willing to help with just about everything! They went over and above for me and my family member. Don't know what I would have done without the huge help from Breanna!! Highly Recommend!!!!!

Remodel in progress. It's going to have a whole new look. With brighter colors, new lighting, and carpet. The new color for the rooms is fantastic! Cathy their Executive Director and her team are doing an excellent job!

My father was a resident here on the independent and memory care areas for over 5 years. The care he received while there was always professional, compassionate and very thorough. He was active and engaged to the extent he could participate. The staff were devoted, kind and communication was very good. My father was clean, well groomed and dressed. His needs during his last year progressed significantly and the staff managed these appropriately. I would not hesitate recommending the facility to others.

I worked for this company less than 60 days. This company is very understaffed and very unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to put their loved ones in the care of this facility. The care professionals that they have do not care for the residents as should, they are very aggressive with the residents and does not give any companionship to the residents. Residents are left in bed all day, residents are not being changed or showered as needed, they yell and treat the residents as animals in this facility. I decided to resign from my position at the facility after speaking with upper management such as the director and supervisors of this facility and things were not taken into consideration or changed. Unlicensed caregivers pass medications for the Medical technicians and most of the time medications are not being passed correctly because workers are on their phones or sitting around talking, there’s a lot of things happening in this facility that needs to be revealed. The caregivers of this facility does not speak English and they are not very diverse. Caregivers clock in and sit in the break room for most of their shifts. Residents does not get proper care at Pennington gardens, they have residents that send signals to the caregivers to let them know they need attention and the caregivers have a waiting time of 1 hour maximum until they decide to tend to the residents that are buzzing for their care. Residents make complaints about abuse and neglect and the management and supervisors and they do not take proper precautions to fix the issues because they feel the residents are older and suffering from memory loss so they don’t know what their talking about. This facility was on the news for having over 20 residents with COVID 19 and over 10 employees also with COVID 19. This Place is dirty. They do not clean properly nor disinfect. This place is awful and something needs to change either with the way it’s being managed or the employees or maybe both. Some people work in this career path just to pay their living expenses and some people work in this field because they really care and have compassion, I am one who does this kind of work because I care for our elderly. This place is ridiculous. If you have a family member here or loved one please go check on them as much as possible. Everyone’s becomes elderly you should treat other as you want to be treated when it’s your time because you never know where you’ll end up.
