I want to thank the entire staff at Ciel Senior Living for helping me through the most difficult time in my life. I needed to move my husband from home health care to memory care which was a gut wrenching experience and overwhelming. Liz Dreyer, Exec. Director, took me by the hand and personally walked me through all the steps. She arranged for hospice care and set my husband up in a beautiful room with a view. The nursing staff and the daily caregivers were Fantastic! I never felt my husband was neglected. I spent a lot of time in the facility, and they were so caring and attentive that I felt comfortable leaving him there without worry. Even Steve in Marketing, and Dan Head of Maintenance would spend time comforting me -I was a wreck. Putting a loved one in a place that you can trust, so that you as the caregiver can take some time for self-healing was immeasurable. I am forever grateful to them. Liz proved she is more about humanity and not money. I recommend this establishment 100%. Thank you.

My family and I recently toured Ciel for our elderly family member. The staff not only answered all of our questions, they went out of their way to listen to our concerns. They went out of their way to ensure we could have an apartment with a view, which we felt would help our family member feel at home as she loves watching the birds and other outdoor critters. The staff provided a thorough tour, was very professional and we thought the layout was easy to maneuver and learn. We were very excited to bring our family member in to see her new home. She was very impressed with the beautiful decor and thought her room with a view was very nice. Unfortunately, she felt the facility was too big. She has recently diagnosed memory issues and is very confused with what is happening to her. Although the staff at Ciel (as did her family) assured her she wouldn't be alone and would have someone to help her get to her therapy, activities, apartment, etc she decided it wasn't the right environment for her. Her decision did not change my option nor review of Ciel. I recommend, if you're looking for an assisted living and/or memory care facility, I encourage you to consider Ciel.

Im a CNA here at ciel of long grove and i enjoy it so much the nurses are caring and compassionate. the staff is great and fun to talk to. I love coming into work to talk with the residents.The place is always clean and the residents always have good food on the table its always so enjoyable to be here 🙂

I took a tour here for my mom a week and an half ago and the experience was very relaxed. I did not feel pressured at all and the staff was friendly and eager to answer my questions. Other senior facilities in the area, in my opinion, did a hard sell (I toured two others that were local). That was not the case here. I would have chosen Ciel if circumstances didn't change with my mom.

The staff at Harbor Chase is professional and top notch. Kelly D went over and above for our family. She was easy to get along with and always in a good mood. All the residents always looked like they were happy and enjoying the facility, unlike other places in the local that we visited. The pricing structure is pretty much the same as most other facilities in the area. Harbor Chase's apartments are very spacious with high ceilings that don't make you feel "boxed" in. I personally ate the food there and have nothing but good things to say. If you are looking for an assisted living facility that feels like home, look no further than Harbor Chase.

Harbor Chase of Long Grove is a lot of things for a lot of people. But. For me and my family, they are HOME. The staff are always kind and supportive when we visit. We have always felt welcome in the community and for our family, that is the biggest thing. We have experienced other Assisted living communities that have presented themselves as "the greatest place to live" but then fall short of their promises. Harbor Chase has continued to deliver on exceptional customer service, great social activities, food that does not feel like its from a nursing home, and staff that are always there to help whenever we need. We want to recognize a few individuals who are always going above and beyond the normal call of duty. Madi at the concierge is always so nice and friendly when we come in. Jessica in finances is amazing with our account and getting us tax documents or statements that we need. Liz the executive director is always available to take our calls, even in the evening hours. TG and Maria in nursing and caregiver are always there to help and always respond so quick when we call for help. And Tyler is always stopping by to see if anything needs to be fixed or just to say hello. We appreciate everyone on the team and could not have asked for a better placement or community for our family.

When one finds themselves at a crossroads in life needing additional assistance with their daily living routine, either for oneself or a family member it can be a difficult journey of knowing where to go, who to trust and just exactly what that future might look like. This was the situation our family was facing in September of 2021. In our search for assisted living/memory care facilities we found there was quite a wide range of facilities, services and costs associated with the selection we were needing to make. Our process involved website searches, phone calls and visiting different facilities. Ultimately, we chose Harbor Chase of Long Grove. Why? The people and the facility. Our initial visit with the sales associates truly made a difference as they were personable, caring and interested in helping us in our journey of finding a good fit for our long-term care needs. We have as of February of 2023 had a caring relationship with Harbor Chase for sixteen months. We can say with confidence that our choice of Harbor Chase has been an excellent choice. The experience we had when we originally toured is still the experience we have today. The staff and residents are friendly, caring and kind. When needs arise the staff is willing to help navigate the concerns to find the assistance that is appropriate and then help to see that through. We are grateful for that. If you are looking for the perfect place, then maybe Harbor Chase is not the place for you. We recognize that we live in a world of challenge and struggle and that is at times true at Harbor Chase as well. At different points along our journey the reality is there have been bumps in the road and challenges to face, I believe this would be the case no matter what long term care facility we would have selected. However, what we have found is that having patience, understanding and offering support to the staff along the way has been beneficial for us and for them. The staff of Harbor Chase have genuine caring can do attitudes and desire the best for the residents and their families. This is what matters in the long run. We have had excellent services provided by caring individuals throughout the facility. Yes, Five Stars is our review. Perfect, no. We are grateful for all of the staff and residents of Harbor Chase of Long Grove; they have certainly helped to make the last sixteen months enjoyable and the best they can be despite the challenges we have faced along the way. I have volunteered a few times now at HarborChase and each time have enjoyed spending time and conversing with the residents introduced to me by my mom Deniz Krochmal who works in activities there. I had a great trip to Walmart with the ladies, enjoyed days of crafts, hand massages and more. Thanks Faye and all other activity personnel for some fun filled days with the residents!

We had to move my dad here during the height of the pandemic, which was concerning for my family, as we had been keeping dad in a very "safe bubble." We were also concerned, because most places would not allow us to help dad settle in. In both instances, Harbor Chase became the logical choice. At that point of the pandemic (Dec. 2020), they had experienced zero occurrences of covid in the community, giving us a great feeling of security. Additionally, they would allow me to help my dad settle in with his things...something he was very much against doing, but for his own physical safety, it was necessary. They went above and beyond, helping us transition dad to community living, for which I am very grateful. It was a difficult time, and their assistance made it a lot less stressful. Listen, nothing will ever be as perfect as home, or how you would personally care for your parent...that's not possible...but having my dad in a facility that is clean, happy, and provides him with the watchful eye and services he needs is perfect for me, and has greatly reduced the stress of having him home alone. The staff throughout the facility is kind and caring. The nursing staff is ON POINT. The food is good, and the activities are plentiful. There have been a few bumps along the transition, but they have been attended to promptly and to my satisfaction, thus far. Dad has his two year anniversary there in December, so we've had a bit of experience there. Overall, I would recommend Harbor Chase, if you're looking for senior living for a parent, be it independent, memory care "light", or full memory care accommodation.

Watching someone move from their home to a community can be hard to see and stressful for all. Harbor Chase helped our friend move from home to their community within a few days time, stress free! The staff is so welcoming and helpful to families and residents. From the moment you tour you meet all the staff, they truly want to get to know you! The community residents are all very friendly and welcoming to new faces! We are pleased to see our friend doing well, he looks like a new man thanks to social engagement that he was in desperate need of! Our friend was someone who was very resistive to moving to a community and Harbor Chase did a wonderful job making him feel welcome and safe!

This is a nice place with lots of things to do. Our activity director Faye Brown is great at making things to do fun we have a great time. She is happy and upbeat which is good for our moral also the nurses are super. Annie on the first floor is exceptional and very kind knows her business can't ask for a better nurse. So many other helpers like Hidalia and Maria are excellent and cares about their residents.

Horrible place to work. Management let the employees run the building. I worked there for 1 and half, went through 3 ED, they can’t keep staff. Have people in position that don’t know what they are doing. No support from management for employees

This is my fourth Senior Living facility since being diagnosed with Parkinsons disease over 15 years ago at the age of 44. I can say, hands down, that this place cares for their people and goes out of their way to get to know the residents and what helps each of us individually. We are not just a number and its not just about the almighty dollar. From the sales team to the head Director, to the Activities Director, to the nurses and doctors, to the chef, wait staff, caregivers and housekeeping, theyre always trying to find new ways to improve. In other words they dont just talk the talk, but walk the walk If youre looking for a compassionate place for your loved one, look no further. You wont be disappointed.

My Grandma has lived here for close to a year now. There is no secret the place has had a lot of change. In the last 5 months though my Grandma has not been happier! The staff obviously have a lot of fun together and like their jobs. The change in Management I think has a lot to do with that. I can call the Head Director anytime and she has answered me. There is a great vibe when you come in now. The food is awesome and we have a lot of fun. I visited this weekend and everyone was in a dance party- everyone was grooving. The Head Director even got me dancing with Grandma. This is a great place. I definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

Jennifer Lazansky is a Saint. She works tirelessly to make sure her residents, whom she considers family, have everything they need and more. She has a true passion for making their lives better every day. Even during this recent pandemic she continues showing up every day to make sure things run smoothly, excellence is maintained and her residents and staff are safe. Harbor Chase of Long Grove is more than lucky to have her on staff. I would trust her with my own parents no questions asked.

The building is immaculate and the manager Jenny Lazansky was very accommodating of answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. 5 starts are not enough. From food to communication, this place is perfect. From the care givers, nurses, sales people and their Leader Jennifer. This place runs like Bentley engine. Im so happy my grandmother is living at HarborChase. She has been a resident there for about 6 months. I talk with her on the phone every other day and she always has something new to tell me. In her words Its as if Im on a permanent cruise ship I wont get sick on. I want to especially thank the management and the entire team there for everything they have and are doing especially during this scary time. My family knows that she is in the safest place. All the updates and communication about any change to her care has been tremendous. Thank you for treating my family as your own! Keep it up HarborChase!

I have loved working at HarborChase. The managers and the building director are caring and involved. The community director Jenny comes in to at every shift to ensure we as staff are happy. I love working here. The residents are happy and their families are so happy. The building is clean and I love working here. We take great care of our residents and We all take pride in that. Our team is prideful and happy take comfort in that. Our leaders are caring and devoted.

The facility is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The nurses I have encountered have all been kind and compassionate to the residents and their needs. I have worked with the Executive Director, Jenney Lazansky, for almost a year and I find her to be extremely professional, caring and dedicated to her position and the residents of Harbor Chase. This is a must see facility!

HarborChase of Long Grove is a wonderful community. The care staff, concierge, activities, servers, managers and administrator are always so welcoming and kind. The residents have enjoyed so many fun programs even during this pandemic. The residents are loved like they are family by the entire staff. No place is perfect but this one is as close as you can get. No person is perfect but all of the people that work here are saints. Dont let a few disgruntled ex-employees make you think differently.

Harborchase is a beautiful community. Jennifer the ED has brought me peace of mind because prior to her arrival there were numerous leadership changes. She is very responsive to my concerns and has brightened the community with all the social events shes organized to bring the families together. Her job is not easy and I admire the way she perseveres through challenges and provides open communication to us families.

I have been working at HarborChase since October. Its refreshing to work for a company that cares about their employees. I feel like Im part of a team and not a number. Amazing mentors and I have already learned a lot. If a mistake has been made, youre not made to feel bad about it. Its truly treated like a learning experience. My Grandma loves it here! She said despite everything going on with the pandemic, she couldnt be happier. She loves the food, the activities, and the staff. I was really surprised to see negative reviews about the Director. My Grandma said she is there at all hours of the day and night, even on weekends. I really cant imagine she doesnt care about her job if she is constantly there. She said even on the weekends Jennifer still has a smile on her face and does a great job for caring for everyone. If she has my Grandmas stamp of approval, she has mine too. I also wouldnt read too much into other reviews about staff turnover. From talking to other people who have loved ones in a facility, they all have turnover. Those staff that stay are the ones who have a true caring heart. Thanks to all of you who keep my Grandma safe and happy. Our family really appreciates that she has a wonderful place to live!

Many of the reviews on here have been placed by disgruntled former employees, so take what you read from them with a grain of salt. There is no perfect business and people tend to post what is negative - also bear that in mind. The manager of the facility is hard-working and cares about the residents there - that is what is important.

Please read whole review. Fabulous! Great staff. Wonderful rooms. Amazing chef. That was my thoughts a year an 1, 2 ago. We have been here from the beginning and Ive seen it all. Short on staff, the food has just become unacceptable. If you want to see the decline of Harbor Chase just look at my photos. The dishes are often filthy. There is an employee that left an entire section of memory care residents alone for EXTENDED periods of time and still works there! As a result of this a resident pulled the fire alarm to get attention. The staff is a revolving door. The bulk of the great staff quit. There are some employees that are great and then we seem to end up begging them to stay. I think we have been through 6 executive directors, countless care partners and 5 directors of memory care. When we first arrived I raved about the food, now it is frequently cold, the portions are cut in half and the bar is not a bar anymore, (they lost their liquor license). Happy hour for the residents consists of coke and diet coke. My family member has been hurt by improper chair transfers, had jewelry stolen and things broken in her room. Why dont we leave you ask. I may, but I am eternally hopeful that things will get better. I feel like I have to be watching all the time. We fight for these residents all the time. There is no assisted living that is perfect, but Harbor Chase in reality is not what they are selling you. They sell it like the Ritz Carlton, it is not.

My father and I went to visit HarborChase, it was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Very bright inside, plenty of room in the hallways, REALLY nice suites! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The residents we met were as happy as can be. Definitely a must see!
