I toured a number of facilities 6-9 months ago. I was very happy to try and get my father in here. Sadly his health made it impossible but everyone was really helpful and friendly. The nursing staff I discussed with was very understanding. Mikela and Melissa helped me guide the conversation with my father who was resistant to it for months and was on board after a tour. Sadly I got to the final phase just before move in and my dad fell ill and could not make it and everyone was very kind in the change of circumstances. My dad is not a social person but he showed some of his personality and had some good banter with the events coordinator. I highly recommend to check this place out if you’re looking for a loved one.

Mt girlfriend and I had the opportunity to tour Waltonwood Lakeside Retirement and Senior Living on October 6, 2025. The tour was given by Aaron Rodina, Marketing Manager. Aaron was such a delight and gave us an amazing tour. I was thoroughly impressed with Waltonwood Lakeside Senior Living. Aaron explained their independent, assisted, and memory living. It was a thorough, delightful, and enlightening tour. Aaron took time to show us all the many wonderful activities, i.e., the swimming pool area, the dining area, physical fitness room, movie room, the sewing room, a beautiful apartment, and so, so, much more that is available to the residents and their family members/guest. I recommend you see this beautiful property for yourself. We met many of Waltonwood's wonderful staff. They "ALL" greeted us with a warm smile. I look forward to returning with my sons and making what I'm sure will be a positive outcome towards my future with Waltonwood Lakeside Senior Living.

Me and my husband vist here on Monday, very beautiful place very clean staff was very nice, patient were just sweet hearts. We had our tour and vist with Aaron who was so professional kind and very patient and knowledgeable about everything. We were referred her for my mother-law to find her new forever home as now she is 87 and starting to experience sundown dementia, and we wanted to find a very safe clean and beautiful place for here where she will get top notch care. We were very impressed with Aaron and the place itself we believe it will be a good fit for here. They have good food lots of activities for them which is always important. We hope this will be her new home.

My Father has been at the Waltonwood Lakeside Facility for 2years now. He started in Assisted Living and then made a rather smooth transition to the memory care unit. From the first moment we toured the facility Melissa made us feel welcome . We met people from various departments whom are very friendly and chef Nick even sent us home with a carryout of his famous chicken and dumplings( dad was not eating well and this he devoured it that day). Having to place a loved one in a facility is an extremely difficult decision. Waltonwood made it so much easier because we were treated like family. My Dad is always telling me "they love me here" which as a daughter struggling these are words of such comfort. There are so many that give their hearts to caring for the residents and I would like to give a special shout out to Gina, Melissa, Donna, Danielle. Evelynn, Marcia( sp)and Kenya as I could not do this all without each of them. Honestly, ALL the staff gives so much and we are grateful for each one. If you are currently struggling with the difficult decision of placing your loved as I did, I encourage you to check Waltonwood out. We are so pleased we did!

We have had a very positive experience with Mom as a new resident at Waltonwood Sterling Heights. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. We particularly appreciate the assistance and advice from Aaron and Mikaela, who are invested in helping Mom, at 98, make this transition successfully to independent living. Mom appreciates the advantages of social opportunities, the high standards of housekeeping, and also the privacy of her spacious and convenient apartment. We appreciate the staff attention, the attractive building and common rooms, and the safe living conditions. Pretty amazing place. I cannot say enough great things. Once my Mom's health started to decline where she couldn't live with us anymore and needed more professional care I researched and researched. I didn't want to trust just anyone looking after my Mom. I found such a blessing in Waltonwood Lakeside. Every single person there treated her respectfully and like a member of their own family. She was safe, cared for and entertained. The food was amazing. I mean really. Residents were given given choices of a couple meals like a restaurant, with soup and dessert. Meals like chicken corden blue, rice pilaf, steak tips, and salmon. Like legit delish! But the main thing was the care, the relationships. They drew her out, got her into art, got her to make friends. This was big for her, since she'd been isolated after my Dad's death. They'd join her listening to music, her favorite. Take her outside so she'd get exercise and fresh air. Encourage and support her when she'd get frustrated and all the while keep me informed. I'd also drop by for sudden inspections, and they always passed with flying colors. They handle multiple levels of aging ranging from no care needed to those needing lots with dementia, like my mother. My Mom felt like the helpers were her friends who happened to help clean her room and clothes while they visited. Never intrusive. I can't tell you the kind of peace this gave me knowing my Mom was cared for as though she were still at home, with family. Thank you Waltonwood Lakeside.

We assisted my in-laws in moving to an independent apartment at Waltonwood Lakeside in June 2021. Melissa was our first contact there in finding them the right space. She was so helpful and friendly and they loved her immediately. She continued to help them transition after the move as well. Then they met Ollie! Ollie drives residents around the local area and since my in-laws do not have a car, they have come to depend on him for short trips. He is a joy and we always hear about how much they appreciate Ollie! In fact, there has been not one employee not has not been friendly or helpful. The vestibule, hallways, and dining area are in great shape. Clean with pleasant decor. Not dated. I feel like I'm in a nice hotel. There are gathering areas with games and puzzles available. There are sitting rooms with TVs and quiet areas for gathering with visitors. There is a nice back patio as well which is great for sitting on a nice day! There is a calendar that is put out to indicate meal choices for the day (usually choice of 2 entrees at dinner), daily trips, and special field trips. Residents can sign up for a seat on the bus that takes them to area grocery stores, Target, and other places. They have dinner out nights too at area restaurants. I'm happy with the level of socialization my in-laws are getting at Waltonwood Lakeside. They sit with other residents at meals, they play bingo, my FIL participates in the choir, my MIL recently went to a Painting with a Twist session, and they've been to the casinos downtown more than once in 2 years. Recently, my MIL needed emergency care and we were very pleased with the rapid response of the Waltonwood team in getting my MIL an ambulance and to the nearest hospital quickly. She has since recovered without issue and is back in her apartment. During her hospital stay, Ollie and other drivers shuttled my FIL back and forth to the hospital. I can't say enough about this wonderful place! While my MIL still misses her home in Romeo very much, there is no denying that this was the best option for my in-laws given their advanced age, lack of transportation, and proximity to health care services.

We planned to move my mom into memory care at Waltonwood after touring the building, but an unexpected cancer diagnosis meant we had to do things very quickly. Melissa and Lisa were a tremendous help facilitating a very quick move in. Once she was moved in, the memory care staff was beyond amazing with my mom. The care they provided was the absolute best. Melissa walked with me each step, made arrangements, sped up the process, recommended an amazing moving company and communicated each step of the way. I feel that this facility does a more than adequate job of monitoring my mother's activities. Their personnel keep track of her and her needs. I never expected them to babysit her, just to assist her when she needs it and a family member can't get there in time to help. For this, they are great. The staff is kind and caring. If there are better people working in the senior care industry, I've not found them.

We have encountered a situation that is very upsetting with Walton Woods. My father was discharged from the hospital and they will not allow Henry Ford Home Care to come and see him. They have all of his medical records etc. They have placed roadblocks to home care agencies other than their own by saying they need a special certification. I feel it is just a way to make the residents use their home care agency. I don't feel that this is ethical. I am also not sure that is is legal. You are taking away that person's patient rights. I am going to do more research on this. Just be aware of this if you choose this facility.
