If you are looking for a friendly caring community Senior Living , Hertiage Woods is the place to be . The staff and residents are very friendly and the atmosphere here is very warming . The residents have several fun activities daily where they are able to interact with each other . Also, Hertiage Woods has a lovely dining room for the residents to continue to fellowship together while eating . They are served three meals daily and the food is great. If you have not had the chance to visit and take a tour please call and set up an appointment

My aunt lived there for 6 months before passing away. Those 6 months were the happiest she has been in the last 2 and a half years. She loved her neighbors and the staff. The food was great and the activities were wonderful. I'm so thankful to everyone for the love and care they showed to her.

Heritage Woods Sr. Living Community in Winston-Salem, NC is where my mother lived for a little over five years. It was the first and last Sr. Living Community I looked at. The location was perfect. It was situated off of the main road and the lawn was well manicured. The rocking chairs and fans at the entrance of the building were so relaxing. My mother was treated with such respect and she received great care. I was never concerned about the level of care she received in both the independent and assistant living areas. There is so much to do and the dinning room and atrium areas are very beautifully decorated. Everyone is so patient and caring with the residents.

My mama and daddy recently moved into Heritage Woods and they could not be happier!!!!!!! Speaking with my daddy on the phone and he tells me of how he loves the food, it's delicious, how friendly and welcoming all the other tenants are and how easy it was to get settled in! Sheila, their coordinator, is the absolute best, so wonderful, kind, friendly, and possesses a gentle patience. I'm so happy that my parents decided to move there; I am confident these will be some of the best years of their lives!!!!

My experience with Heritage Woods was outstanding, even though my Dad only spent a short time as a resident prior to his passing. Mary Stone (Exec Director) is someone who has committed her life to helping Seniors and her counsel to me prior to my dad arriving, during his time there and then while he was in the end stages of life was invaluable. Mary knows so much about this service and was such a wise counselor to me as I was needing to make important decisions on behalf of my dad while I was living 6 hours away. I not only felt like I had a trusted advisor in Mary, I felt like I made a new and caring friend. While most of our correspondence was initially over the phone (with my living out of state), when I finally met her personally it was like being with an old and lifelong friend. The feeling of good community oozes throughout the residence, and my interactions with every single caregiver (both medical and support staff) was of the highest caliber. Everyone was warm, welcoming and very helpful. When my father passed, I sensed a really heartfelt caring by the team- even thought he had been there for a short time. I am very happy that he had that time at Heritage and wish he had been able to be there longer. Kudos to Mary and her team, they are truly wonderful and I recommend them highly. I trust that if you decide to partner with Heritage your experience will be as good as mine.

I moved my mother into Heritage Woods when she could no longer keep up a home. She was reluctant to move into a Senior Living Center, but the staff and other residents made her feel welcome and happy when we visited. Sheila Page showed us the options she had for an apartment and the view from each. My mother decided on the two bedroom apartment so she would feel a little like being at home. All of the staff was very cordial when we moved in and followed up to make sure we had everything my mother needed. Sheila especially made it a point to come and ensure my Mom was getting settled in. Heritage Woods is a very friendly environment and a very clean one. I would recommend Heritage Woods to anyone looking to make that next change in life for themselves or their loved ones.

If you are no longer able to live in your home than Heritage Woods independent or assisted living is the place to be. The Leaders, and staff are very caring and exceptional. They make sure all of your needs are met. Many offerings are available such as dining, many activities, transportation and a very clean environment. Can't say enough about Heritage Woods. I definitely picked the right place to be after having to give up my home. I would recommend Heritage Woods to my family and Friends.

This is a really nice retirement home. They have several different sizes of apartments to choose from for independent living on two floors. They also have one floor of assisted living units. There is a dining room that serves three meals a day (the food is very good) and the apartments also have kitchenettes. There is a nice large lobby area with a fireplace and tv and the outdoor areas are very inviting. They have activities and outings scheduled throughout the week and transportation to doctors. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and really care about the residents. There is a beauty salon on site and on-site physical therapy.I think the price is about average for retirement homes and it is one of the nicer ones for the money.

My 84 year old sister is living here at Heritage Woods. She loves it. Before she moved her she was a very negative person now she is always positive and upbeat. The staff is all very warm and friendly. The facility is always clean and inviting. I don't have to worry about her safety or being well cared for. You couldn't ask for a better place to live. My father has been at Heritage Woods for a year and it was the best decision he made for himself. Everyone at the community is friendly, respectful and helpful. The food is great and a wide variety is offered daily. Prior to COVID there were multiple activities a day. During COVID they have been very concerned with the residents health but still offer activities that keep them safe. Mary Stone has done an excellent job in maintaining the safety of the residents! I highly recommend Heritage Woods to anyone needing an Independent Community to live in!

My Mom moved down to NC in June of 2019. She had come to visit in April and picked Heritage Woods from the places that she visited. Well...she picked right! Heritage Woods has been a great place for her to live. Just recently, she fell and fractured her hip and the Executive Director, Mary Stone, who cares for each and every individual resident, helped us find a place where Mom can get her rehab before returning to Heritage Woods. Mom has enjoyed all the activities and socializing and Im sure she will once again when she returns to her new home.

After visiting other Senior Communities in the Winston-Salem area, I immediately knew when I went to Hertiage Woods, I had found my moms new home. My mom has been at Heritage Woods for almost 2 years and I can say without hesitation, the Director and staff are wonderful and feel like an extension to our family. The Director and staff are always helpful and go beyond to do and assist, so if you are looking for a safe and loving environment for your parent or yourself, I highly recommend Hertiage Woods. This was a difficult move for my mom, she was having to leave her home of 55 years, her friends and her hometown and due to multiple health issues, she was scared and nervous. It did not take long for both us to realize, shes living in a very caring and loving environment, she is so happy and has made lots of new friends. I would also like to thank the Director and the entire staff for working so hard to make sure my mom along with the other residents stay safe during Covid-19, their hard work and diligence has been exceptional!! The facility, inside and out, has always been very inviting. The resident rooms are set up perfectly for their needs. In 2017, my parents moved to an Independent Living apartment at Heritage Woods Senior Living (HWSL) and after my moms husband died, she has continued to happily live there. Although there have been several staff changes, the present Executive Director, Mary Stone, has definitely kept the facility in tip-top shape for the past two years. Her ability to keep everything running smoothly is amazing; not only do the residents love her, the families do as well. Before COVID-19 caused a change in procedures, the regular routine provided numerous daily activities including exercise class, Bingo, Arts & Crafts, movies, card games, outings to local restaurants, entertainment (singing, dancing, choruses, instrumental performances, and even Elvis!) as well as many special events and seasonal offerings. (Since Quarantine began in the Spring, HWSL has continued to offer as many activities as possible with the restrictions that are in place to keep the residents safe and healthy.) The front desk ladies are personable and professional; the wait staff is friendly and attentive; the dining room chef provides a variety of daily food choices; the maintenance staff responds as quickly as possible to needed repairs; and the other staff members are courteous and responsive to the residents requests. From the comfortable rocking chairs at the buildings entrance to the cozy arrangement of the furniture in the Atrium, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Your loved ones will enjoy the companionship and feel right at home when they become residents at Heritage Woods Senior Living!

Going downhill fast. Chef quit, food quality declined. Activities director quit. Residents left to come up with their own games and activities. Cleaning staff with the exception of one or two barely clean the rooms. The wait staff is wonderful and hopefully that wont change.

I am writing this review to let everyone know just what to expect from this facility. I have two parents in this facility for the last two years. We started off in independent living and as their health declined we moved to assisted living. I have had to move my father to memory care now but mother still remains at heritage woods. I know the entire staff at this facility, 1st through 3rd shifts through our two-year journey. There is no way anyone could expect better care than what this facility provides PERIOD! I can honestly say I have absolutely zero complaints about anything at heritage woods. My mother is difficult with Alzheimers but the staff has embraced her and they know and understand her and she has many difficult days. They treat her with the upmost care and respect even through days when she is less than nice to them. Her apartment is always very clean and so is my mother. They help her pick out her clothes for the day and dress her and she always looks nice and fresh. Anytime there is a concern about her health they call the doctor in without hesitation. Christian Fields is the assisted-living administrator. What an angel she is and a godsend to my family. I recently had to put my father in memory care at a different facility. I have to say he is not clean he is not shaved which I never experienced one day at Heritage Woods. So If anyone reading this review has further questions for me, my name is Pamela Deese and the facility knows how to get in touch with me and they have my permission to give you my contact information. Quite frankly it upsets me to read anything negative about the heritage woods. These people have been through hell with me and theyre just totally awesome!

To elaborate on other positive reviews, specifically relating to the Southern Style Party, I would have to give kudos to activity team as well. I would also like to elaborate on how well the entire management team works together at Heritage Woods, events like the Southern Style party would have not been successful without everyone being a part of its planning. Dining services for example is a huge component of those events and I think that they deserve a round of applause for this super fun, laid back family event that I wish could happen every week! The management team and staff all make a huge effort to ensure that Heritage Woods provides a warm and welcoming community for their residents!

I attended a social event at Heritage Woods a few weeks ago. Staff and residents were very welcoming, and seemed to be very happy. There was an amazing jazz band and lots of family members as well as staff filling the area. The appetizers were phenomenal. There was also the option to consume alcoholic beverages. It was the best event I have been to in a long time. The staff there definitely put in a lot of hard work and goodness did it pay off! It was absolutely impeccable.
