My mom was in Evergreen memory care at Arbor Terrace Acworth for 9 months. The staff there truly cared for her while she was there and made every effort to make her as happy as she could be. They are a dedicated group (with a special calling) and I want to thank all of them for their loving care and support during her time there. Special thanks to Tutu, Arin, Pat, Nana, Dorcas, Edith, Patience, Lovely, Kat (Trinity Hospice) and all the Evergreen staff for the job they did taking care of my mother. I also want to commend Lynette (Director) and Sharon (Memory Care Director) who were always responsive and available to help me navigate my mom's care. Finding a place to take care of a loved one with dementia is difficult, but we are grateful we found Arbor Terrace Acworth.

Arbor Terrace Acworth is a Godsend for our 90 yo Mom. The care, staff, and social activities have brought joy and purpose for Mom. Thanks to Activities Leaders Lauren, TJ, and staff for wonderful trips, opps for mental stimulation, and the weekly lunch outings. Lynette, the Director, has been very active in Moms care for the past year, responding to our concerns and providing updates about AT sickness and care. The medical techs like Grace and others take good care of our Mom. The front desk staff are always caring, helpful and willing to provide help with any issue. Jenni, Natasha, Sue, Shannon, and Susan are a welcome smile and watch over all the residents coming and going. Our family believes Mom deserves the best during this season of her life. My mom joined the assisted living community at Arbor Terrace recently. She was very, very opposed to moving. The staff at Arbor Terrace made a difficult transition as smooth as it possibly could have been. When my mom arrived, a literal red carpet was out for her, with velvet ropes, a welcome sign, and a big group of staff members with smiles and hugs! My mom’s reluctance evaporated instantly. She loves her apartment, which is beautiful and light and very comfortable and safe. She had some medical needs and was set up immediately with a doctor visit in the comfort of her apartment. This is such an incredible relief to our family, and mom is loving it; too. Everyone on the staff has gone out of their way to introduce themselves and make my mom feel like part of the family. Ashley, Missy, Chantease, and Lynette were wonderful in getting the move organized and getting my mom to Georgia. We couldn’t be happier with Arbor Terrace.

After mom had suffered an injury, we needed to move her from Houston to an assisted living closer to home, and quickly. A major move and adjustment for mom. We were in a tight timeline to find a place. We got ahold of Ashley Lutes and she was amazing. She took great time and effort to give us a virtual tour and to make sure ALL our questions and concerns were answered. Ashley made sure she made our move as convenient and easy as possible. On move-in day Lynette, the executive director, had a warm greeting for mom as she walked in the door with all the staff there to say hello. Lynette made sure we were welcomed, understood how the facility operated and that I was comfortable with them to take care of her. Once there Chantease Braxton and her staff were the one who truly took care of mom on a daily basis. Chantease truly cares and listens. Chantease made sure she was communicating with me and staying on top of how mom was doing. If there was ever an issue, Chantease was quick to react and to let me know. The staff at AT are welcoming, always smiling and welcoming, and truly care for their AT resident family. Management is approachable. Special thanks to Ashley, Lynettte, and Chantease! I will always appreciate how you cared for mom. Kudos to the entire AT staff! You set the standard.

We have been so pleased with the love and care shown her on a daily basis but I feel compelled to shout to the roof about how exceptional Chantease Braxton, Resident RN, has been since joniing the Arbor team. Chantease has consistently gone above and beyond to assure my Mother (and many others) are lovingly cared for; many times staying much longer than she should just to be sure all their needs are met. I almost feel my eyes well up with joyful tears just knowing she is the nurse that will be at my Mom's side when needed. All the staff members of Arbor Terrace have gone above and beyond my expectations in caring for my mother with dementia. When I first arrived to tour their memory care facility, I was in crisis mode, as my mother’s condition was rapidly worsening and could no longer be managed at home. Ashley Lutes, sales and move-in coordinator, showed me kindness and personal attention and warmth as though she was a family member herself. Ashley clearly explained the application process and introduced me to equally welcoming and concerned staff members Sharon Durr and Rebecca Merriman, and a few others (whose names I can't recall, sorry!). Without a doubt, getting my mother into memory care was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But this beautiful facility and exceptional staff have given me and my family a sense of assurance that we made the best decision for my mother.

Upon our first visit, we met Ashley Lutes. She provided us with a brochure that outlined their business plan and how it would accommodate my mother. We were treated to the grand tour. Ashley answered all of our questions and provided sound knowledge when it came to our concerns. She put our hearts at ease knowing the importance of the decision we were about to make. Thank you again, Ashley. I have never dealt with a group of people in a business atmosphere who were so accommodating. They treated us like family. This is such a wonderful place full of caring fun loving people! I enjoyed so much the Holiday Christmas get together today with my husband and granddaughter. It was the first time my 90 year old mother met her great granddaughter! The hot chocolate was delicious with a wonderful layout of sweet treats to add to your hot chocolate. Holiday music was included! Some of the residents displayed their favorite Christmas sweaters, and I have to say there were some very creative and fun light flashing holiday sweaters for sure! Dogwood Forest has been a blessing to our family. We moved my grandparents in on October 1, 2021 and it was a difficult and painful adjustment for my grandfather, who has severe dementia. We ended up having to change our plans a few days in and transition my grandfather to the memory care wing, and the staff was so accommodating, patient, and loving with us. It was hard on our entire family, and Lori and Melanie were right there beside us to help with the tears and the guilt. They have also been great about keeping us updated on my grandfather's condition. He gets upset when he sees family, but is very happy when we're not there. They send us pictures and videos of him so that we can stay involved with his life, which fills a huge void for us. My grandmother is living her best life these days. She is able to take advantage of all the benefits that assisted living offers. Our phone conversations used to be limited to what they ate for lunch, but now we have so much to talk about. In my head, I envisioned the other residents being crotchety and unwelcoming (totally unfounded), but that is not the case at all. From our first day there, every single meal we went to in the dining room someone came up to welcome her (and us as her family). She has already started to make friends, and the others ladies are so sweet and inclusive. It's only been a few weeks and I can tell she feels right at home. I am too lazy to write reviews generally, but Dogwood Forest has made such an impact in my life (by taking away the constant worry I had for my grandparents), that the least I could do was to sit down and let everyone else know that if you are thinking about moving your beloved parents or grandparents, you can sleep well at night if you chose Dogwood Forest of Acworth.

We have only lived at Dogwood Forest, cannot compare it with others. Living here, happy to share , it is well run with true compassion for us residents. Well run? It is on par with Chick-fil-A , Apple and American Express. Chick-fil-A it is noted as a leader in guest relations.Dogwood Forest is equally as good. Thank you so much to the amazing staff at Dogwood Forest of Acworth. My mother is a resident in the Inspired Living wing. The facilities are beautiful, spacious and always clean. My mom loved to look nice every time she went out when we were growing up and the caregivers here seem to make sure that she still does! I have five siblings and we were recently able to tailgate in the family dining room with our spouses and Mom thanks to the coordination and care provided by Sharon Durr, Inspired Living Manager and Aba Dabel, the main desk hostess. Both ladies helped to make this a really special time with Mom. Aba even took some pictures for us while we were there that are actually good despite having to deal with my silly family! I and my siblings are very happy with this community and recommend it highly if you should need this type facility in the future for your loved ones.

After a year of my 87 year old Dad who has dementia living with my husband and me, I have been getting more and more emotionally exhausted. I began researching for assisted living/memory care options in Bartow county. I came across Dogwood Forest in Acworth. I met Lori Ghassedi and she instantly put me at ease. We went to a furnished model apartment in the assisted living area and sat down and she asked me about our situation and what had brought me to this visit. I love all the options available at Dogwood Forest for the residents. Sadly though, I realized my Dad was likely beyond the ability to handle the scope of it all because he has gotten very confused and anxious even in our home. But our choices seemed limited and I held out hope, asking Lori if she would mind showing my sister from NC all they have to offer here when she was coming in a couple of weeks. She said absolutely, and weekend tours were not out of the ordinary. Ultimately, I was able to discover a brand new place only 7 miles away from my home that is smaller in scale and my sister and I have felt it is much more suited to my Dad's limited mental state of mind. Big enough to give him some new friends and stimulating conversations and activities without him feeling 'lost' in the magnitude of his surroundings. Lori is so gracious, stating more than once how it never bothers her when a perspective client chooses another place, as long as it meets the needs of the elderly parent and their family. I highly recommend a visit to Dogwood Forest, and meet Lori. She will not steer you wrong. And funny thing is, I can see myself in not too many years looking for a community like Dogwood Forest for my own residence!

We moved my parents into Dogwood Forest about two months ago. My Dad has ALS and my mom needed extra help. Dogwood and the staff have been amazing! We were even able to move in their beloved Standard Poodle and he was welcomed with open arms. They go above and beyond to see that my parents feel at home and have what they need. We planned to move my mom into Dogwood, but she wound up in the hospital before she got there. The staff at Dogwood were great at helping us manage her transition from the hospital to rehab to Dogwood. Lori Ghassedi made this all possible, as she is a great advocate for us. She helped us coordinate her move from the hospital/rehab to Dogwood, she proactively contacted to hospital care coordinator to make sure we were all on the same page. Dogwood has the feeling of a home, it's clear that the staff deeply care about the residents as they know everyone by name.

They guided my brother & me through the entire process of placing Mom in the Memory Care Center & their guidance & professionalism was outstanding. From the first communication with them through getting Mom moved & settled in, they have been attentive, responsive, compassionate, extremely helpful & their upbeat attitude is always present. Every single staff member we have encountered & who deals with Mom has gone above & beyond to answer questions, make sure Mom is settled in her apartment, making sure she is engaged & socializing with other residents & giving updates & pictures of how Mom is doing in her new environment. We sleep better knowing Mom is in a safe environment with people who are committed to providing compassionate care. My mother moved in a week ago and they have done everything they can to accommodate for her. I can't praise them enough for the way they have gone out of their way; not just one person but everyone, the communities relations director, manager, chef, business relations and nurses. My mom's dementia is progressing to the point I can't alone take care of her. She was placed in the hospital about a month ago. They sent her to short term rehab. The short term rehab facility didn't want to accommodate for the foods I knew she would eat so she just wouldn't eat. When I say this we are talking about things a 3 year old might want to eat; hamburger, pb&j sandwich or chicken nuggets. Dogwood Forest staff helped push her through and get all the documents required to move her as soon as possible. Her mood has improved. Her appetite has improved. She may not fully understand things but I see the changes and it is from knowing she is cared for. I give my highest thanks for everyone that works there.

My mom just moved from assisted living in Texas to Dogwood Forest of Acworth to be close to me. I researched all the local places and selected Dogwood Forest. We couldn't be happier. Mom says she loves the people, the place and the food! I was afraid that moving from somewhere familiar to a new place would be really traumatic. We are still waiting for her furniture to arrive from Texas, but the staff at Dogwood Forest have been there every step of the way to make her feel comfortable. They have helped us out with all the little things that came up that need to be handled. I'm so happy to finally have my mom close and that he loves her new place.

My Dad has been a resident here for almost 2 years. Dogwood Forest is like no other. Our Dad was no longer able to live alone. He was getting forgetful and lonely. I can sleep at night knowing that he is safe, taken care of and well fed. My Dad has more friends than I do. He is so social and participates in a lot of the activities. What has stood out to me the most about Dogwood is how well they took care of my Dad during COVID. Their communication, willingness to help him was amazing. Melanie the Director so incredible.

Mom joined the Dogwood Forest memory care family a year ago. She had advanced dementia . We were very concerned about the change of lifestyle and level of care. Now we are very grateful of the customized consideration for her personal needs and group activities . They are a professional group of caregivers who's’ actions back up many of the programs in place. When mom transitioned to final stage care , they were the extended family that made the difference in her graceful passing. Most of our family is from out of town. They went well and beyond to keep us updated and assist with medical details. Again mom is gone , But we have come to know an extended family of professionals for life.

My parents moved to Georgia in July 2015. We found Dogwood Forest and fell in love with the facility as well as the staff. Everyone is so caring and encouraging and my parents felt at home immediately. In October my dad passed away and we needed to move mom over to Inspirations, the Memory Care side of Dogwood Forest. This place is second to none! It's bright and beautiful and the staff is WONDERFUL!! Michelle, the Director of Inspirations, is the most "hands on" person you will ever meet. She cares for each resident as if they were her own parent. She knows each one of them by name, knows their likes and dislikes, and is continually visiting and loving on them. Heather, the Activities Director, always has something going on. You will never walk in and see the residents just sitting around by themselves. She keeps their minds engaged with games, puzzles and trivia throughout the day. I couldn't be happier with the love and care that mom is receiving here. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dogwood Forest. We are so thankful that we found a place that we can trust to take such excellent care of our loved one!

Dogwood Forest was great in the beginning, but with recent staff changes it has alot to be desired. The staff doesn't speak good english and it is hard for elderly to understand what they are saying most of the time. Personal items of residents go missing and sometimes are never found. Changing demands to make it very hard for residents who get sick and go into the hospital to ever return. Hope your loved one never gets sick...they don't want them coming back...ever and will make it almost impossible for them to return. The quality of the food is also not as good as it was in the beginning. We will be moving soon.
