Choosing an assisted living community is one of the hardest decisions a family can make, and we're so thankful we found Brookdale South. From day one, the staff has been incredibly kind, caring, and compassionate, not only to our loved one but to our entire family. The community is always clean, welcoming, and feels like home. We especially appreciate how well the staff communicates with us. They keep us informed, answer our questions, and make us feel like we're part of the care team. The greatest comfort is seeing how happy and well cared for our loved one is. That peace of mind is truly priceless. We're grateful for everyone at Brookdale South and highly recommend them to families looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with genuine care and respect.

My dad lived in Brookdale the last weeks of his life. We moved him thinking he had more time. Unfortunately, his dementia spiraled down quickly. We were doing our best to get him on a medication to help his anxiety. The staff recognized the quick decline and were very supportive, hoping we could find the right medication. One evening his breathing became very labored and the nurse contacted Hospice immediately. Her quick action comforted us. Her kindness and caring calmed us. Hospice came and he passed peacefully late the next afternoon. It took time and work to move him for a short 3-week stay. We could look back and wish we hadn’t have moved him. Instead, we feel the timing was perfect. The staff was amazing through this time and showed true concern for our dad. We feel thankful and blessed that our dad spent his last days at Brookdale. If Dad were writing this, he would give the food 5 stars. We give Brookdale 5 stars - all the way!!

The staff is great with my mom and she is so happy at Brookdale South. She says the food is good and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend Brookdale South if you have a loved one looking to find a home with assisted living.

Moved my mother in-law in about 5 months ago and we have loved this community. Great people who love on the residents and truly take time to get to know them. They have alleviated the stress of this move for her and for our family. Could not say enough good things about this community.

My Mom at first went to Brookdale Denton North then moved to Brookdale Denton South. I cannot say enough about how great my experience has been and my Mom is very happy there other than wanting to return home. Any questions I’ve had rather I msg a Director, Kathy or Michelle, or the nurses, Heidi or Jana or Serena the girl you first met me and gave me a tour, all of them always answered back promptly which was so convenient and thoughtful! I had so many questions! I never realized how much they all have to do with not only the resident but with their family also! Any time I called or walked in the staff would say something comforting about how Mom was adjusting. Great experience and truly hope my Mom stays on.

Had to write this review before it slipped my mind yet again. I work in home health so I am frequently at these types of facilities; was here a couple weeks ago with a patient. She said something that has been on my mind ever since: You keep your dignity here. They don’t talk down to you or treat you like a child; they’re always nice and helpful. I don’t think you could get a better description than that from the eyes of someone who lives there. Staff are always responsive when I need info on a resident. Residents look happy to be there. Not to mention the dinner menu usually looks like something I end up wanting to cook at home! They have their flaws like all places, but if my g’ma agrees to move to TX when the time comes, I would try to place her at Brookdale Denton South.

My father in law was in here 2 1/2 years ago and he absolutely loved it and loved the care he got from the wonderful staff.. I would highly recommend Brookdale.. I personally absolutely love Brookdale! I love love the entire staff.. They go above and beyond to serve you! My Mother also lived at Brookdale South.. She passed Dec. 31/2024 She absolutely loved every single staff members and residents.. They have great entertainment,games, crafts etc.. I would highly recommend this lovely place! My mom has been here for several years and we love that several of the staff and management have too. It shows they take care of their people and it’s not only a great place to live but a great place work. Everyone here makes her feel special and loved! As her daughter I couldn’t ask for anything more! Love our Brookdale family!!

Brookdale South in Denton has been providing assisted care to my mother in law for approximately 15 months. She arrived from Florida, where she had lived alone, then sustained an injury, and was also in early stage personality/memory issues. The staff at Brookdale worked closely with my wife and I, and Virginia, through he phases of adapting to a new lifestyle. She has gone from a difficult state in 2022, into a point where she is now considering Brookdale her home. Throughout this process, the management have facilitated an attitude in the staff of caring and support that sets them apart from the other centers I evaluated. Further, they have the experience to help guide our family in guiding Virginia. Getting old is difficult, going to a new style and losing your old one is difficult. The Brookdale folks manage it well. Note, Brookdale South is not perfect. They have issues, disturbances and challenges, just like all assisted care centers do. But, they also have a caring and experienced management staff; that creates a caring staff; who provided practicable care for Virginia and peace of mind for us.

The reality about assisted living facilities is that very few (I'd like to say none but that can be easily argued to be inaccurate) of them meet the expectations of the child who is entrusting their parent to the facility. It is, after all, a facility. Assisted living facilities tend to be under staffed. This is true of Brookdale; but for the most part the people who work there do the best that they can. There were times when some of the simple housekeeping chores were not attended to; which is a reflection of the level of staffing and not the work ethic of the staff. The staff at this location are very good at making the resident feel loved and important. They try to encourage the residents to participate in corporate activities and outings. My mother spent the last 19 months of her life here. At first she resented being placed in an institution; but towards the end she considered Brookdale to be her home; and many of the fellow residents to be her friends. All in all it was a good experience. One caution- watch for the propensity to prescribe additional services; at additional costs of course- especially by the onsite LVN.

We coordinated with the facility to have the kids perform community service hours for here for their requirements for school. The kids came back and were able to to day that they had enjoyed the time in the facility. They were a bit irritated that some of the residents had different rules to games they played.. LoL, but they were overall happy with the people they met, the facility, and enjoyed the different areas at the facility. As we talked to them, they didn't have a negative experience.

This community is a loving and enjoyable environment! The residents genuinely love and care about each other. The care associates are there because they want to and want to make a difference in the lives of those they serve. That's Amazing! This is more than an Assisted Living Community...they are family!
