I've been coming to see the residents for quite some time! The staff is always polite and interactive as the residents are always smiling. I hear good things about the food and the life enrichment! If you're looking for a place for your loved one. Charter senior living is a fine candidate.
August 2024
Nothing but good to speak about when mentioning this place. All of the staff are awesome always helping and going out of the way to make sure needs are met. Michael the Enrichment director very jazzy and upbeat always in a good mood keeps a smile on his face. Cory the Maintenance Director is a very caring man goes above and beyond to make everyone's day! Came in and set the bar high and has been on a roll ever since. Making employee of the month within 60 days of starting with the company says a lot. I haven't seen any slowing down. Clean and friendly environment I would recommend to my family and friends!

I've visited this facility on plenty of occasions and I've always felt welcomed. From the greeting you get when coming in the door by the front desk to even the residents always smiling and being happy to see you. The "Life Enrichment Director" Michael Adams has done some amazing work here at the building bringing a lot of joy and positivity to the residents and community. All brand new activities has been implemented and introduced adding new life and excitement each day for the last two years. The major event I wanna highlight is the "Prom Night" put on by Charter senior living Woodholme Crossing. This was actually a Prom Night where the residents, family, and staff dressed up beautiful and classy and enjoyed a night of celebration ‚not to mention there was an actual Emcee there keeping the event entertaining. What an awesome night seeing all the residents dance together taking pictures at the Photo Booth and so much more. In closing this is a very nice place to live , visit and frequent. 5 stars
August 2024
A wonderful place to be, the older receptionist ladies are great at what they do and very pleasant! The Life Enrichment guy is amazing and stands out. I notice how much the staff steps in to help wherever needed. Definitely a place to consider moving Grandma or Mom
August 2024
I am a regular visitor from a local church. When I walked in to the nursing home I observed a large group of about 10 of the nursing home residents engaged in a word game with the staff and there were many others sitting around socializing with each other and watching attentively to what was going on with the word game on a very large oversized board. The staff was very friendly while I visited with residents in their room, and I could see their rooms were clean and the residents appeared well taken care of. As a nurse practitioner who has spent many years in geriatrics, in nursing homes all over Maryland, Im very impressed with This nursing home .

Beautiful facility very professional and friendly staff. I felt so welcomed!
July 2024
I am the girlfriend of Harvey Goren, a resident at charter. He has been at this facility for over a year ! I want to start with the pros which are many! The place has made major improvements in hiring, friendly, kind, attentive staff! I am noticed a big improvement in response time when people press their monitor buttons. The daytime activities have increased dramatically and include a wide variety. I also noticed that their trips have been increased although I normally don't participate in these because I am not a resident. Love the happy hours, particularly certain entertainers. Michael has done a good job of firing the ones who were not very professional. Michael, life enrichment, has held activity meetings from what I understand to listen to the resident needs for what types of activities they enjoy. The daytime activities also seem stimulating such as word games in jeopardy. Also, I have loved as well as Harvey, the big events, such as the prom, crab feast, etc. I enjoy my visits to charter, particularly interacting with the friendly staff and residents. Dana, the dining room manager, has been working diligently to try to upgrade the food and menus. He has held regular meetings with the residents to obtain good ideas for improving food quality. A big shout out to most of the dining room staff. They are friendly and very accommodating. They make dinner enjoyable. The front desk people are very nice and pleasant, particularly Jada. I do have suggestions for even more improvement. There is always room for more healthy food choices. The facility really does need to keep a clean environment and there could be improvements in the lobby area. I know that they are working on getting new furniture. But vacuuming on a regular basis and cleaning the tables is important. In order to keep this place more secure, it also might be helpful to hire a desk clerk at night to let people in and out of the building.
July 2024
The staff is caring, loving and consistent…not a lot of turn over which is important when caring for your loved ones
July 2024
I only have been here twice, but each time it was clean and lively. the bathroom was clean for it to be a public bathroom, the maintenance dude Cory was like a speed of light responding to the front desk for TVs and spills, and everything! The highlight: The activities guy danced away in these galactic shoes I've never seen in my life! Definitely like none other. If I have to ever come back, tell me where the heck he got those shoes from.

My sister and I were seeking assisted living for our father. We wanted to stay in the Owings Mills/Pikesville area. Karissa Carson, Director of Sales and Marketing welcomed us. She put as at ease and provided all the details that we needed to feel like we made a good choice. She was open and honest about costs and likelihood that our father would be accepted. Rest assured if you visit Charter Senior Living of Woodholme and you encounter Karissa. You will want your loved one to live here.

I felt good vibes from the moment I stepped into the bright and cheery lobby at Charter Senior Living at Woodholme for a tour. Jared's understanding and compassion dispelled any fears I had about seeking respite care for our family member. Upon arrival, Jonny welcomed us warmly and helped finalize the final admission process and accompanied us to the suite to make sure that everything was in working order and to our satisfaction. I am confident that my loved one will be given the best possible attention during his stay and will really feel that he has a home away from home.

Charter has a family atmosphere! They have lots of activities/entertainment for the residents; I enjoy watching them participate. The director of the Activities Dept. is great!

A truly exceptional staff. Friendly, polite and professional. My Dad gets along with the staff at least as well as any of the residents maybe better and that's saying something because all the ladies love my father. I love the staff as well because they help me help my father who can be a handful. Just a stellar team all-around.

My mom spent four months in rehabilitation center and we had to make a tough decision to put her in assisted-living . From the beginning, Jaret -Director of sales was wonderful ! He answered all our questions in details and help us to make smooth transaction to get her in to charter senior living. Rosalie business manager is a great addition to the wonderful staff of charter senior living. She is very helpful and go a mile and a half to help you out. Thanks to Executive Director Trish Outland, this facility ran very effectively . People are warm and very caring and caring is the most important part because they do need care.! Thanks to them my mom looks better and feel better ! This holiday season I want to wish best wishes to ALL people working in charter senior living . May all your wishes will come true !

I thought the event was wonderful and I was glad to have been invited. I also love the renovations that have been done to the facility. It's nice to know that such a place exists for seniors. I wish more seniors could afford to live like this in our old age.

Just before Thanksgiving a client was extricated from an abysmal group home to become a resident at Charter Woodholme and the experience has been extremely uplifting for him. These people are operating high caliber, and exemplifying professionalism. Jared, Johnny, Rick and the other members of this organization are quickly (immediately) responsive and swing into action to keep residents happy, meeting all of their needs. Places this nice are hard to find. So happy to have found it. So far so great!

My Father really loved being at Charter! The staff is amazing and the director Trish was very accommodating and caring. She went above & beyond helping me with my Father. Andrea was also very kind to my Father and encouraged him to do what he loves, painting. This is a wonderful place for Seniors and they are well taken care of here.

Trying to find an assisted living home for a family member is daunting and stressful. Jared and the whole team were fabulous answering all of our questions, were flexible with timing and really worked with us to ensure our loved one would have a seamless transition. Staff here are genuinely happy and the facilities are very clean. It's a big step finding the next right place for loved ones. You don't have to look any further!!!

Overall we had a good experience at Brookdale Senior Living. Amy made us feel very welcome from the start. Laura made sure we had lots of visits and video chats with Pop during the Covid19 Pandemic. Thank you Laura for helping Pop with his accordion. It was great seeing him play it again. We did leave Brookdale so Pop could be closer to where we live, and when this virus lifts it will be much more convenient to visit him frequently. Thanks a bunch to everyone who took care of Pop. We appreciate all of you.

What I have been concerned about these past few months is of course the COVID-19 pandemic and how this facility would treat this unusual occurrence. I was not disappointed. I received e-mails on the latest correspondence related to the Governors mandates regarding those living in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. I received these e-mails on a weekly basis or monthly basis, or whenever deemed necessary from the Executive Director. They took the necessary precautions mandated by the state. They are still doing it. I talk to my sister at minimum once a week and there is someone who is always knocking at the door to clean, throw out the trash, getting the food menu for the day, delivering mail or something and I personally like that. We video chat not because of the pandemic, but because I live in El Paso, Texas. It is important for me to know that my sister is safe. There are physicians, Dentists employed for the residents. Many activities and many mental health therapies as needed. When I have a question, someone answers. If I am a pest with my questions, someone answers. If there is a question for me, I get a call. Every 6 months there is an evaluation that is sent to me for review to let me know the physical condition that my sister is in. I think I made the right choice for my sisters needs. Veronica Fulton

During his three year stay in the memory care unit, my husband, Edward, was treated with dignity and respect by the Care Givers. They were caring and sensitive to his special needs. In addition to the excellent care, Brookdale Pikesville offered many enjoyable activities for families and friends throughout the years. I recommend this community to all who are in need of special care.

The COVID-19 Virus has decimated too many Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facilities. I am incredibly happy to state - Not at the Brookdale Assisted Living Pikesville, Maryland, where my mother resides. They have set as their priority protecting the Residents from the COVID-19 Virus and been extraordinarily successful at that endeavor, at the same time providing the residents with a caring environment. Have had the honor of working with thousands of seniors and their families for four decades within the field of Cardiology and can unequivocally state that Seniors deserve no less then the protection and care provided by Brookdale Assisted Living. We had looked at a number of different communities in the area and most of them were fine. Some of them were a little too large in what we were looking for but generally, most of them were out of our budget range. When we had come across this community the timing seemed to be on our side they had a shared suite with an opening and the price fit within my moms budget. It's been a bit of an adjustment for her moving here but the staff has been good in helping her. They have been very kind and friendly. There are lots of things to do here and mom is having a good time doing activities. She is enjoying the food well balanced.

Facility was very nice overall and is being renovated with new decore in common areas and in the rooms. Lobby smelled a little funky. Staff was very nice and happy. Residents were happy. They do not take vouchers and the pricing that you have is incorrect. Smallest room starts at $3250 and then services increase the costs from there.

I'am doing pretty well since my move to this community. It was a hard move, but I'am getting to the routine around here. The staff has been very helpful and welcoming. I've made a few new friends. The meals are pretty good for the most part. Overall it is still a work in progress, but I'am pleased with my move to this community.

I was looking for a place for my cousin. She was living alone, no other family and she was getting weaker in her aging. It was getting harder for her to go up and down the stairs. I called a Place for Mom, I was under the impression that they had senior facilities by that name. I found out they were a referral service. They referred me to several places in my area,, I chose Brookdale why? Because of the first impression of the staff. I toured the building, it is clean every person that I saw there ( all the seniors) were clean. No trash no dirt. I was hooked and knew my cousin was going to live it too. She is moving next month and she is more excited than I am. Thank you Place for Mom, you are doing a good job

My family has had a very good experience with Emeritus. The staff is very nice and warm and caring. My mom was well taken care of and looked after. After she passed away the people there were very caring and sympathetic and said they would miss her. When you sign a contract with Emeritus you have signed something that says when the resident leaves you will vacated the apartment within 10 days. Other people have commented that no one helped them etc. Okay that is not their job - its your job to get a mover or ask to use their dolly and they will get it for you. I would not hesitate to recommend Emeritus of Pikesville to another family. The only negative comment I do have is that I think especially in the evening they need more aides on duty - for those that need help getting in and out of bed to use the rest room.
